The surgery went well. However I was given an individuals name and number to call after hours if I had a problem. I tried to call the individual on Sunday and got her voicemail and asked her to call me and she never did. I find that rather disheartening. I would have given the overall experience 5 stars had it not been for the lack of response to a concern I had.

Dr Calcote and his entire staff are the best… l am 78 and have skin cancers quite often..the atmosphere is low key and comforting . I feel relaxed and confident here…l actually look forward to coming here! In early, no waiting. Dr in immediately, again no waiting. Out 7 minutes after scheduled appointment time - after freezing several spots.Very thorough and professional. And quick. Need to give “how to be on time” instructions to rest of medical community.

This is my opinon. First of all, the font office staff was friendly, helpful and very considerate. I was placed in a small treatment room and the first thing that caught my eye were a few prefilled syringes on the counter top and on the treatment tray. While my time alone in the treatment room was short, and if I was a nutjob I did have enough time to easily tamper with all the syringes. Additionally, I was seen by an NP for a yearly skin cancer screening. The NP performed only a visual cursory examination while missing two birthmarks on my wrist and foot. After seeing the lack of protocols for safeguarding the syringes from tampering and lack of a detailed examintion I was ready to get out of there and never return.

I brought my mother in for a complete body exam because of a few concerning moles. Dr Chelsea and her assistant Cindy were both fabulous. Very kind, professional, and informative. I will make an appointment for myself to be checked!

Been a patient for years! Its a good place but, had a situation that really upset me. When you go there before you even go in, you are charged for your co-pay, which I always pay.This time I received a bill for half what my co-pay usually is even thou I paid the bill. Coming to find out I actually had a credit, hence half of the bill. But still I had already paid! I had to proof and show my credit card statement to convince them I had already paid. now, they added another amount for a 5 year old balance. How can I have a balance when I just had a credit? When I have been going there, and neither my address, phone or email have changed!Just bad business for the patient! They easily sent that balance to collections. When they never contacted me or asked me to pay for it, in one of my visits.

I have been seeing Dr. Calcote for several years- starting right after I had a precancerous mole removed. My appointments are always thorough and he answers my questions in a way I can comprehend (I don’t have a medical background). Their scheduling is well done- today, my appointment was at 10 am and I walked out of the office at 10:40. I HIGHLY recommend him!

The staff was very responsive and Dr.Calcote was extremely informative when I developed a strange spot on my foot. I was very pleased with their help.

I saw Chelsea Hoover, CRNP. She was very warm & kind. She listened to all my concerns & made me feel really comfortable. She answered my questions and didnt make me feel silly about my worries, even taking a biopsy of a site she wasnt worried about because it made me feel better to be sure. I would 100% go back to see her. Very good experience!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Calcote since he took over this practice. Today was the worst experience I have endured at this practice. Had to wait over an hour past me appointment time. The waiting room constantly had an average of 15 people in it at all times with very little spacing between seats and NO masking policy. I felt very unsafe and waited outside the time I was there. I hope this will not become the norm.

Dr Calcote and his staff are very professional and caring. He explains things very thoroughly and displays a genuine compassion in taking care of his patients. He has taken care of my skin problems for about 5 years and am very pleased . Highly recommend.

Dr. Hoover failed to note any records or prescriptions changes from my visit, and I’ve been chasing around said prescriptions for 3 weeks with no success.Having a 15 minute appointment serves no purpose if I have to spend a month fighting for the actual service that I paid for afterwards.I do not have the correct prescription STILL. Her customer service and level of professionalism was below sub par and irresponsible. I would suggest avoiding the headache and wasted time by going elsewhere.

Everything went fine in the office and with Dr. Calcote.I do not like the phone system that will not connect me with the office directly. If I call the office, I want to talk to someone in the office and not wait for an operator to answer my call. I called 3 times two days ago and each time I was either 19, 18 or 15 in line to be connected. Then the operator told me she could not reach a nurse but she left a message with her to call me. 6 hours and 15 minutes later, I got a call while I was driving which was inconvenient. I could have driven to the office in 20 minutes but the telephone was supposed to save us time and money. LOOK INTO A new communication system. Mike Maples

Staff was proactive in the beginning but has had a lack of communication lately. Was supposed to start accutane… 5 months ago.. and have not. I had to seek another dermatologist to begin this process. They do not answer their phones, I am always sent to voicemail and have never received a call back. Very disorganized in telling me where I can get my labs done. One person in the office told me one place while another staff member told me I couldn’t go there. I’ve stopped into the office a few times since I could not reach them by phone and was given an attitude by receptionist. I’d suggest that you work on your customer service and communication skills. Glad that I left and found a new dermatologist to take care of my skincare needs.

Great experience here. I have seen NP Chelsea and she listens to my concerns and addresses them head on. I never have to wait a long time when I come, and I can get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time, and both have been an issue for me at other places.

They were so detailed, polite, and understanding with my 13 year old daughter. She was a little nervous about the appointment, but they made sure to make her feel welcomed. Great place!

Biopsy April 6 - surgery July 13, 2021. A long period with very poor communication during this time. The surgery was performed by burning the growth and there was no guidance provided for how will we know if the surgery was successful.

My 1st visit to Dermatology Specialist was definitely two thumbs up. Dr. Calcote has a great demeanor and was all about me and my concerns. He addressed the issues, gave appropriate treatment andallayed any fears I may have had. Erica, his nurse (awesome personality) was fantastic.I see many physicians fairly often; Dr. Calcote and his staff are definitely on top of their game.

Had growth the needed evaluation. Called on Friday and was given an appointment for Tuesday morning. Dr Calcote is very familiar with my dermatological issues. He checked the growth, froze it, and I left. Great service and great dermatologist, Dr Calcote.

1st visit in January receptionist wouldnt except a drivers license, it was a month expired. Visit two staff looked at a small cyst and said wed have to come back because it was considered surgery. Third visit Dr. Calcote said it was beyond his capabilities so go somewhere else. Called the staff weekly for a referral and got the run a round. Finally I got the information and gave it to the staff. All they had to do was fax the info I gave them . Id found (doctors have told me this was their job) and I provided the fax #. This took from January to April with no help. They have billed me over $100 for something beyond my capabilities. We dont have a diagnosis nor did they send one to our pap. Now the cyst is about the size of a quarter when it was less than a dime size originally.

Dermatology Specialists of Huntsville Alabama is well run, professional and thorough. They have provided excellent service and addressed all my dermatology needs for several years. I highly recommend.

We sought out a dermatologist for my youngest son to assist with some skin issues. The staff in the beginning were very responsive and engaged with my sons treatment. Shortly after starting, we noticed it became very difficult to contact the office. We were routed through an answering service and had to send messages to the nurse and wait to have someone call back. As of today, when calling you are placed on an indefinite hold and cannot get through to anyone. I have also emailed the office and have not heard from them.The root issue currently is the provider hasnt completed the needed information in order for our pharmacy to release the medicine for my son. It is a simple process for them to enter online. This has been going on for three weeks now and still no resolution. For a provider to promote they care about their patients well being and pride themselves on quick response times, they are not fulfilling their mandate.On a separate note, it is a shame some of the staff at the office smoke in the parking lot in areas where people park and have to walk through their second hand smoke to get to the office. And while the majority of the people there are really nice, the front office associates are for the most part rude and do not seem to want to be there. This location seriously needs to re-evaluate both the phone system and the people who represent them when patients, both new and existing, enter the office.

Have been coming here for a couple years. Absolutely love seeing Hannah. She’s well spoken, takes time to listen and care for her patients. Really cannot go wrong with anyone in this office. They’re all fabulous.

Dr. Hoover is awesome. She is efficient and listens to concerns, and is willing to discuss multiple options to find the best treatment that works specifically or you. Definitely recommend.

Dr and RN were both easy to communicate with, I ask a question and was given an answer that I could understand. It appeared that all the staff were nice and friendly.

Very smooth; filling out medical history, doctor being right on time, exam and final assessment quickly and explained, and out the door. In and out in fifteen minutes after scheduled appointment. Doesn’t get any better.

I filled out my paperwork and immediately I was called to the back to be seen by the doctor. There was a very nice nurse who asked me several questions and within a few minutes the doctor came in to see me. Dr. Robert calcote very professional Pleasant and informative. I would recommend anyone to see him.

I have had three appointments at this office in three years. Each time, the wait time has been minimal. That having been said, there isnt much else positive that I can say about them.On my first visit, the doctor blatantly ignored some of my concerns.On the second visit (years later), one of the nurses yelled at me and almost kicked me out of the office for not having my three month old babies wear masks and pointing out the ridiculous nature of enforcing mask wearing in general. She was very rude. After that, the nurse practitioner refused to treat my concerns, preferring to have the doctor handle it (Fine, Ill come again to see the doctor).On the latest visit today, the doctor almost treated me for a skin cancer that I do not have. They had confused me with a different patient entirely. Once they sorted that out, I learned that they only had time to handle one of my two concerns today. Im seriously considering finding a new dermatologist, one that listens to my concerns and makes time to resolve them, instead of confusing me with someone else and offering an inappropriate treatment as well as not solving everything I come in for.

All of the nurses and drs are super friendly! The front desk staff isn’t quite as pleasant (both in person and on the phone). Just kinda seems like the front desk staff hate their jobs. This place is super busy and always running behind with appointments. And rescheduling an appt can be difficult because of how busy this place is. Been going here for 3 months for acne and it’s only worsened so far, but they are starting me on different medicines to see if those help. Was hoping it would be a quicker fix, but I understand that’s not always the case. Overall not too bad, but I’ve never been to another dermatologist so I don’t have much to compare it to!

Dr Calcote and his staff are wonderful and kind. They take special care of me and my elderly parents. For years, my father had gone to a different Dermatologist with his concerns about a spot on his face. That doctor kept telling him not to worry about it and theyd watch it, but never did any tests. I recommended Dr Calcote. He immediately recognized the spot as being cancerous, removed it and ordered radiation and topical chemo. He took my 90-year-old fathers concerns seriously and did right by him. I highly recommend Dr Calcote and his staff.

The place is easy to get to and the staff is very nice. The lady who checked me in, explained everything to me, since it was my first time here. My appointment was at 12:30, but I was seen at 1. That happens pretty much at every Dr. office though. The nurse practitioner, Chelsea Hoover is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions, while being very patient with me.

Examined area of concern, gave me treatment options with percentage levels of success and time/trauma. 7% result differential and 30 minutes versus multiple hours with less trauma made decision relatively easy.

Great service!Try to get morning appointments in order to get in/out fast (if your case is uncomplicated). If you need an excisional biopsy (complete surgical removal of abnormal tissue) than, I highly recommend Dr. Josh Hammel. Dr. Hammel and his male nurse technician were professional, fast, and the incision on my neck looks great!

We showed up 30 minutes early for our first appointment, as directed. We were send over an hour late. So, over 1.5 hours waiting. If we didn’t sit so long they would have gotten a higher review.
