I’m a sixty five year old retired engineer and veteran, who has suffered from chronic back pain due to various genetic and injury modalities. Needless to say this pain has become much worse with age.My quest for relief has taught me that you can’t rely on the pharmacological remedies presented by modern western medicine as they often only replace the pain with another subset of issues (addiction, bleeding and organ damage) additionally the human body tends to build a tolerance to these chemical compounds thereby reducing their efficacy. My experience with acupuncture has been a pleasant experience. I have had chronic shoulder pain for several years. I like the overall approach with my treatment. After being injured in Afghanistan, I spent a considerable amount of time at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. My injuries were primarily skeletal as well as a Traumatic Brain Injury. While there, we tried many things to achieve improvements and I was initially introduced to Acupuncture Therapy. I saw some minimal improvements there, but only was introduced for a few sessions. I was first introduced to acupuncture when I was 10-12 years old, living in California. My brother and I had Tourette Syndrome growing up, with no solutions in sight. My parents decided to try acupuncture, after it had helped my father with chronic pain. Within 5 months, acupuncture helped us both more than anything prior.Now to current day -Around a year ago, I had gone through a very stressful period in life, and my anxiety and stress were at levels unimaginable by myself. I wont go into detail, but I tried everything. I went to my doctor, and they wanted to put me on prescriptions. I decided to tell my doctor I wanted to go a more natural route, as I did not want to be dependent on that. (Not saying that would be the right choice for everyone, but it was the right choice for myself)I had tests done, to rule out any other physical health issues (Heart, stomach, etc.), and all of them came back clear. I had a high resting heart rate, around 90, but that was about it. It all came back to them wanting to have me put on prescriptions. It was at that time, I remembered what helped me in years past.After 4-5 months I could really tell a difference in my anxiety and stress levels and how I was able to handle them. I am glad to say that now going close to one year, I am back to my normal self. Additionally, my overall health feels better than it has in a very long time. There is truth and healing in acupuncture, and this is the best place I know of for it.Dr. Zhao has been treating me since I arrived last February. Dr. Zhao at Dr. Ly Natural Health Inc. has been treating me with acupuncture for about a year with great success. He has brought my blood pressure down to where it needs to be for my age. I have had acid reflux for many years and after his treatments I am now free of it without medication! He took care of pain in my hip and neck and the numbness in my fingers. I never knew acupuncture could successfully treat so many different ailments. I have great confidence in it and would recommend it to anyone! Since going to Dr. Lys Clinic, my health problems have improved very much. Dr Ly and Dr. Zhao are excellent at what they do. No matter what my problem is they relieve the pain in a matter of moments. I came to Dr. Ly’s office after having a litany of health problems—stomach, skin, sinus and cholesterol issues. My primary care physicians were at a loss as to what was going on, but Dr. Ly was adamant that acupuncture could help. And it did. My first experience with acupuncture was with Dr. Ly. He helped me to get rid of my debilitating hot flashes. I did not want to use hormone therapy due to the potential risks, but I was unable to sleep at night due to the high number of hot flashes. Its quite difficult to put into words what Dr. Zhao and Dr. Ly have done for me. I was diagnosed about 4 years ago with a very painful nerve disorder called Trigeminal Neuralgia. It affects my left side of my face, jaw, and ear. Doctors dont know exactly why this happens to people but some believe it could have been from oral surgery from 20 years ago and its just now showing up. Regardless, of all the medications and medical procedures I have been through, including pulling 2 teeth, little has helped. So my last resort was to try acupuncture. Boy, did I have my doubts. I came to Dr. Ly in June of 2019 completely overwhelmed with symptoms from a disease that no one had yet been able to identify (later was identified to be Celiac Disease). I was struggling with severe joint pains and anxiety, random numbness, shocking sensations, an irritated stomach, and more. Although I heard acupunture long time ago, this is the first experience for me to experence for my waist ache and leg hemp after hours standing. Never in my life have I felt more loved and cared for by my doctors.
