Took my dog in today to get groomed. The staff was amazing. They were extremely polite and explained everything that was going to be done. The cut was done exactly as I was expecting. My fur baby is as handsome as ever! Very satisfied!!! Will highly recommend and I will be returning.

The lady that groomed my dog was high on something. My dog looked like someone had ran her through a woodchopper when I got her back. My poor dog was so embarrassed by her cut she wouldnt leave the house till her hair grew out. It literally looked like a blindfolded 3 year old had groomed my poodle. The groomer was in a hurry to get paid so she could go to the liquor store next door and she was already high on something and reeked of marijuana. Would never take another dog there ever again.

Love this place. So accommodating for me and my pup. Great prices and the staff will do anything they can to help you! My girl hates getting up on the table for a nail trim so he got on the ground for her! Their grooming bookings can take a while but its a great deal at a great facility with great people. I love knowing that when I walk in Im talking to the same people everytime who know me and my dog personally.

First time boarding with Barkingham Palace and the overall experience was great! Friendly employees that really seem to love their job and the animals. Anytime during the 9 days my dog was there I could access the pet portal camera and view her! That was a comfort to me. 💜💜💜

Our dogs stayed roughly 10 days here and we will never go back again. They were returned to us malnourished... The feeding instructions were not followed. We left three dozen packets of food with very clear instructions but when the dogs were picked up 20 packets of food remained and the entire bag of their dry food did too. We watched on the cameras as the dogs continually messed their beds because their stomachs were not correct due to the improper feeding. We are not sure what they were fed. The beds may have been washed but were returned to us again with feces in them. We watched the cameras and the dogs were only let out two minutes at a time on certain days and other days we are not sure if they even got outside as promised. The dogs were picked up with impacted feces on their rear ends even though we were promised they would be bathed. My older dog is so weak she can’t even jump on the couch. This facility was OK with charging us $380 for this “service.“ We will never use this facility again.

Friendly staff and clean kennels. I really appreciate the bath the dogs were given before pick up at no extra charge. The camera feed to check in on the dogs on the road is fun. Only complaint is it is on route sixty which makes it tricky to leave their parking lot if heading back to town.

Will never take my dogs there again. This weekend place has really went down hill since Jessica left. I only let her groom my dogs. Thank goodness she opened her own place. Contact her on Facebook that get your dogs the best groomer!

One of the best pet groomers that we have ever dealt with. Employees are very good with our pets, and they go the extra mile to make customers happy. Great service at a great price.

The WORST PLACE EVER don’t take your dogs here the people that work here are afraid of big dogs I took 2 of my dogs her they WERE NOT LET OUT FOR 30 HOURS sat in my car on our way for a vacation Watching as my dog poop an pee in there pin CALLED 9 TIMES to ask why my dogs were out being let out she told me she was afraid of big dog an can’t let them out, even though the door to let them out was right there I took pictures of the whole thing from beginning to end when we had one of our friends go get them cuz I was not going to let my dogs sleep one more night in that filthy Place my poor baby’s had to sleep in poop an pee had to have baths when our friend brought them home... my dog are extremely nice our friend even brought his kids over to play with them he said they were the best dogs even every obedient an listened well and I still didn’t get all my dogs stuff from there.. NO ONE BRING YOUR DOG HERE watch the cameras they don’t do as the say they should say yeah watch us torture your dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~_~ the only 5 stars reviews are from the people that work there this place does not even deserve the one star .

Brought my cat, Momo to Barkingham last week while I was out of town. I love the convenience of being able to check the cameras from my phone! It really gave me peace of mind to check on her and see she was doing just fine. Will for sure be bringing her back anytime I go out of town

If I could possibly rate this place 0 stars, I would. This place honestly just needs shut down. The new groomer is very rude and has the most abrupt attitude I’ve ever seen in an individual. Jessica (the former groomer) was amazing. Unfortunately, she doesn’t work there anymore. I don’t blame her. If you want your dog to be kept in good hands and to be seen by a great groomer, contact Jessica on FB. This place is an all the way around hassle to deal with.

Sept. 2016 edit - Ive had at least two bad grooming experiences with the staff at Barkingham and had a general uneasy feeling the last time I visited.When I arrived for my last appointment, the door was locked (during business hours), but I gave them the benefit of doubt, so I called. The groomer answered that she was in break at a nearby gas station and would be there soon. I waited for nearly 30 minutes. When she arrived, she was being driven by someone who was waiting for her as if she was going to leave as soon as I dropped off my dog. I explained to her, again, that I had an appointment for grooming... She sighed and waived off her ride.Too many issues here, I wont be back.—------------------I needed to board my Weim for five days recently, and my normal boarding facility was booked. I went into Barkingham Palace a few days before I needed to board to get a fell for the facility. The staff was more than happy to show me around the entire facility, nothing was off limits. Each suite had plenty of room, but I decide to book the king suite which has a great window view.My fur baby has specific dietary requirements and has to take prescriptions daily. The staff was excellent at making sure she was fed as I requested.Each suite has a camera available 24x7, and I was checking I often.

BAD BAD experience. They shaved my baby down to the skin. He s naked. Love his heart. Believe they let someone who is NOT a groomer do this.

They have a new groomer. She does awesome work. The prices are reasonable.

I loved Barkingham when Jessica was the groomer. She always gave my dog very special attention! Since Jessica left, I am very disappointed with interactions with Barkingham. Without Jessica, I have no desire to take my dogs to this business!

I took my three dog here to board for one night. When I came to pick my dogs up the next day, I was handed another dogs things and they couldn’t find my dogs items. Although I thought they seemed very disorganized, I didn’t make a big deal about it. They eventually found their stuff, so I left it at that. However, what I do find to be a huge deal is that my teacup Pom was very ill from boarding there. I was very adamant in telling them that he could only have his prescription food because he has a liver shunt and his liver cannot process other foods and treats. I have no proof they gave him anything else, but I know enough about my dogs condition that I feel confident(as well as his vet) that’s what happened. I called Barkingham Palace about his condition and asked if they’d given him anything besides his food. The lady I spoke with told me she would have a manager call me back when she came in at 1 o’clock. I never heard back from them, so I called back the next day to find out she indeed did receive the message to call me... I assume she just never got around to doing so. She told me that she hadn’t given him any treats, but she’d ask the other girls if they did... which basically told me that she probably never informed the other workers about his condition. Then again, maybe she did, and they just can’t follow simple instructions. All I do know for sure is that my Pom was perfectly fine when I dropped him off and deathly ill when I picked him up. One night of boarding there cost me 667 dollars in vet bills.Also, shortly after boarding there my golden doodle is experiencing the same symptoms as my Pom?! So now I’m also questioning if they’ve caught something while boarding there. All three of my dogs are up to date on all of their vaccinations.I feel like this place is highly unsanitary and the smell is horrible! It doesn’t exactly appear to be unclean(or I’d never left my dogs there to begin with) but from the smell they clearly must not be cleaning or disinfecting properly.I feel so guilty for leaving my dogs in their care. They don’t even deserve the one star I gave, but it wouldn’t let me leave this review otherwise. Other ppl need to be informed about this “broken down” palace, so they won’t make the same mistake I did. I will never, ever be so trusting about leaving my dogs with anyone else again.

We recently moved to WV from out of town, and our dogs have stayed here twice so far. We have an upcoming long stay and I feel confident that while Im on vacation, the staff will care for my dogs and make sure theyre comfortable. Our dogs always seem to be happy when we pick them up and the kennels are well maintained and very clean.I have had horrible past experiences with dog boarding where our dogs would get sick. One time, one contracted kennel cough which was terrible.Never have we experienced anything but pleasant service with Barkingham, and I can tell that the staff cares greatly for the animals staying. Im happy we found Barkingham and I know my fur babies are safe and sound while Im away from them.Thank you!

I called on October 16th to make a reservation to board my 2 dogs over the Thanksgiving holiday. When I showed up to drop them off, the man at the front desk (who identified himself as the manager) had no record of my reservation and told me they had no room for my dogs. He barely offered an apology and was absolutely unprofessional. I will never go here again, and recommend that anyone thinking about boarding their animals here seek another place.

We just picked up our dog Cezar , he looks great after his bath today , which is no charge btw after 7 days boarding . I checked on him by video all through the day when we were on vacation and could see that he was well fed and cared for. Dont hesitate to take your pets here because my experience was great!

Will never take my dog here again. When I picked him up today, he was so nasty and dirty. All 4 paws were yellow from urine. His kennel was covered with sticky, dried urine on the floors. I brought him straight home for a bath. All his belongings had to be laundered because they smelled do bad. This place has really gone down hill. My dog was out front in the king kennel so I thought he might get a little more attention but obviously not.When I followed an employee to the other area last Monday, the smell was unbearable. I dont know whats going on but my fur baby will ever see the inside of this place again.

Your dog is better off taking care of itself then sending them here.

I have boarded my Husky there multiple times, never had any issues. They always kept his kennel clean at all times! He was even given a free bath for staying for 7 days!

My buddy has gone to barkingham palace for about a year and half now. Always loved it. Especially Jessica the groomer. Barkingham was our favorite place til about 2/3 weeks ago when I dropped my buddy and new dog off to just get baths and a cut. Buddy is only 19/20 pounds hes always been $25. My other dog is 30 pounds so I figured he would be $35. No big deal. So my mom went to pick them up and was told the total was $90 and one of my dogs, you couldnt even tell he got a haircut!! Its kind of ridiculous they raised their prices to double. Plus they have a new groomer and Im just so upset with what they’ve “done”. My poor dog doesn’t even look like he got a trim! His hair is still very long and curly and i paid $50? For what?? Very upset! Very very upset that our original groomer is gone!! If I wouldn’t have been at work and was able to pick them up, i wouldnt have given them a dime! I will be looking for a new groomer that’s a reasonable price and gets the job done since Jessica is no longer there.

We took our Bichon to be groomed at this facility and from the moment we picked her up she wasnt acting right. She came home and hid under our bed for hours and over the next two days she started acting worse. We took her to our vet and she had to be put on oral antibiotics, steroids, allergy meds and a spray for her skin. Do not know what happened to her still to this day but will never take her back again...

Took my dog Rex to Barkingham over the weekend while I was on a girls trip, Ive never left him with anyone before so I LOVED that I could check the cameras to see how he was doing. For sure bringing him back next time I go out of town!!!

I would give 10 stars if we could. We have taken our little Shih Tzu Annie to Jessica for grooming for the past 3 years. She looks so cute and her hair feels absolutely lovely. Excellent products are used for bathing and conditioning. My wife asked about products. We have had problems with other groomers. But most importantly, Annie loves Jessica. ❤️ I have had to pull my other little girl out from under the car seat, she didnt want to go to a shop (needless to say we switched back to Nitro where we used to live). This is not a factor at Barkingham Palace. We recommend Barkingham Palace to all our friends. My wife carries Jessicas business card in her wallet to give out. The first time we went to Jessica, a lady brought her dog in and said she followed Jessica wherever she worked. We understand her loyalty. Several friends of ours take their cats for grooming and are very pleased. Tammy is very attentive and helpful. She also loves our little Annie. Tammy decorates for the seasons and takes the cutest pictures of the pets. My wife loves when Tammy calls to say Annie is ready because she is so pleasant and loving to our Annie. Once we were boarding Annie and forgot her bed. Tammy brought us a bed she made for Annie to use. I cant say enough about how helpful, kind, and hard working she is. These two ladies work together well and truly love animals. We are very lucky to have these ladies to love and care for our little girl.I have to change my review. Jessica and Tammy are no longer with Barkingham Palace, so neither is our Annie. After various groomers with 2 different Shih Tzus, our Annie goes wherever her Aunt Jessica and Aunt Tammy goes.

This place is disgusting and should be shut down ASAP! Anyone who leaves their animals in the hands of these scum bags is placing their animals in immediate danger! Horrific conditions and neglectful treatment, STAY AWAY! For a long time they had an amazing employee with elite talent, Jessica Mazurek, but they abused her like they do the animals... Since she left, so has the integrity of the business. Jessica has a natural ability to connect with animals and she is loving and nurturing in every interaction — it’s a clear indication that Barkingham has no morals if they mistreated Jessica. I live in Las Vegas and I fly her out here every 6 months to groom my Persian cat because I have taken him to no less than 5 different groomers and he will not let anyone but Jessica touch him. He is so at ease with her, she is a true gift to the animal community and you cannot put a price tag on that. Barkingham will charge you outrageous fees to abuse and neglect your pets, and it needs to stop!!!

Had my dog Lexi boarded and groomed over the Labor Day weekend. She fell in love with the staff and looked amazing when I picked her up!

I feel bad that such a good location went downhill it seems from the loss of a good manager like James and caring and considerate workers like Tammy and Jessica being terminated left a lot to be desired by many cause it feels like after they left all the love for the animals did also.

Take all 3 of my pets here. Best service.

Grooming service has fallen off lately, last time i took my dog there she left with jagged/broken nails and covered in dandruff. Would rather pay more for quality groomers
