I’ll start by saying if you can’t do a service don’t try and mess up and don’t take any responsibility. I must say the girl was really nice until I called the following day. So basically I got the balayage and it was terrible I show her a pic of what I wanted as well. I had balayage before and had color in my hair before and this is what the person doing my hair is holding on too. That “I had color in before” but that has never been an issue before.she’s basically blaming the orange color on the color I had before. After she was done it was fine until I went home and saw it .Some parts were extra bright and this wasn’t even the color I wanted which isn’t the issues. The issue was it looks like highlights which is why I was upset and lots of different colors as well. I called and she explained that she told me I had color in before which I didn’t say anything because like I said it was never an issue before. I ended up going to a different place to get it toned because at this point I don’t trust her. The lady at the second salon said this is really bad and she’s also asked how long ago I had this done. When I mentioned it was only a few days old she was lost for words. Also this was the location in Huntington and it was a Groupon. Don’t waste your time!!!

If you care about your hair please do your self a favor and go somewhere else… My hair was orange and yellow after telling the stylist I was scared of my hair turning that color. She also blamed my horrible dye job on me having a really overgrown dark base but after seeing another stylist she said it was clear she did not process my hair long enough and she added zero highlights to the back of my head even though I was seeing her for a full highlight… I had to spend 500$ repairing my hair with another stylist from this horrible job. I used a Groupon and the stylist warned me that I shouldn’t use them because I can ruin my hair… how ironic because she ruined my hair. I won’t name the stylist out of respect but please before booking think twice before you ruin your hair.

Busy salon, best to make appointments. They have curly hair specialists and products. As a curly girl I can definitely recommend this place with two thumbs up. My girlfriend is butch and gets her hair cut here. This is not a female gender only salon. Plenty of men coming here for their cuts as well. Very good vibes here. Street side parking and a public lot less than two minutes around the corner.

Love Cactus and this staff so so so much!!!! They use salon only products and are so knowledgeable about all the lines they carry. I highly recommend any of the stylists and LOVE the girls at the desk. Everyone is so sweet! They make hair easy.

John Benzi is the best stylist Ive ever been too...been going for years and have never been disappointed and Kim at the front desk acts as though you are family as does the rest of the staff...wouldnt consider going anywhere else!!!

Im very happy going to cactus salon. People behind the desk are extremely helpful. I walk with a walker so its difficult to navigate but with their help its doable.I go to John, the hair stylist and I only have good things to say. I dont have to say much and he knows what to do with my hair. I definitely am a loyal customer😄

Its been a while since I had anything done to my hair and it was time for a change so I could actually feel good about myself, so my friend and I went there today.Barbara Ann was my hair stylist and she gave me exactly what I wanted. Violet highlights framing my face, a side bang that was also violet and some highlights in the back. When she had finished, my hair looked absolutely amazing and worth every penny.I had a similar hair style done with red at a different salon that is now closed and I spent $300. Here I spent a lot less.Even though I live in CT, when Im here Ill be going back to Barbara Ann.

They were so nice, accommodating and proffessional. I got a beautiful cut and color from Allison, she took the time to show me how to maximize my curls without frizz and gave me a diva curl haircut, which I Love! Def going back!

Took 3 days and about 12 hours to get my hair right... I wasnt told in the beginning that it could be challenging. I was on a very tight time frame. After the second day of coking back and leaving with orange hair, I was done. I requested my money back. They refused, told me that I had the service done. Beyond unnaceotable considering it was not the service I wanted. Again, I paid a fortune and didnt get what I wanted. However , they did fix my hair and it was decent. Never again though... this is very poor business procedure. Ill never recommend this place

Had to get my hair re-cut because my hair wasnt even...I politely requested a refund or ever a discount of some sort and was met with a HARD NO...they said because I got the Groupon price, they couldnt do anything...DO NOT GO HERE.

Had a great experience from the start just for a simple mans haircut.Decided to get a little color too since Im turning gray and my hair was unrulyand mop-likeThe receptionist --Kym put me at ease and listeded to what I wanted...she was great.I got a haircut from John B ----awesome, awesome,I got a little light color that looked natural and put my age back about 12 years.Lauren F.Overall recomendation was excellent from the 3 of this team.Thanks !!

I have been going to this cactus since they moved from Wall street decades ago. My hair is not easy to beautify ... its very fine and very straight and a mousey color. While Ive had very good and fairly good haircuts over the years from an assortment of the techs, I cant say that any of them were phenomenal ... all were talented and professional. The real difference in this CACTUS and the reason I will NEVER go anywhere else is the colorist (Lori). I have been stopped in airports, at restaurants, and elsewhere with unsolicited compliments about my coloring. One woman at a tennis match leaned over and told me I had Movie Star highlights! They are very nice. Lori spends a year highlighting and downlighting in chunky and skinny alternative strands. The end result is EVERY coloring brings my hair closer to the hair of a child that plays in the sun. Often, the desk will pair Lori (color) with John (cut). This doesnt work for me. John is just a little to modern, cuts are on the short and angular side ,,, just not for me. However, Ive been a Cactus client long enough to know that he has a very strong following of people who like his styling.

My fiance has been going to the same colorist for almost 20 years and recently made a visit 3 days before our wedding. She is platinum blonde, gets a double process with highlights and her roots came out orange. When she let her colorist know her concern she was told that once she blows it out, it will look blonde. Needless to say I came home to my fiance in tears. When we called her colorist back, she said there was nothing she can do about it. This was after spending $230 and giving a $40 tip. They only offered her 1 time that she could come in to get her hair fixed and it was the same time she had to be in the city to pick up her dress. When I went in to ask for a refund or store credit, the manager was very rude and condescending to me. She also happens to be the colorists sister, which I did not know at the time. I was told that I didnt know what I was talking about and that her roots were not orange and she was happy how it came out.

Wish I could leave no stars. The woman who did my hair hit me repeatedly in the face with a big comb. I told her to stop, she was hurting me! She said Im almost done and proceeded to hit me again. When I complained to the manager I was told not to come back, none of the stylists would work on me! I now have big ruptured, unsightly blood vessels on my face and no recourse. Terrible, nasty people.

I went in for a balayage, came out with blonde highlights ONLY on the top of my head and then organge random stands. It looks horrible. Worst Ive ever got. Do not go here if you dont want to waste money. My hair is 0% of what I wanted. I dont think Ive ever said I hated something so much until now. HORRIBLE.

Bad what I can say?? you can have a coupon trought groupon and then you will never be able to use it... I have mine since october and they nave have a spot that it works for me...and trust me I dont have a busy schedule. so bad

If you want a orange hair instead of blond this is a perfect place to destroy your hair.

I bought a groupon for a balayage and ive had it done once before at their dix hills location back in October (its june now) and i wanted to go a little lighter than i had before and i showed the lady a picture of a girl with honey blonde balayage and i walked out with yellow ombré hair. i was so upset but i am not a confrontational person at all. i hate my hair so much that the other day at work i went into the bathroom to cry. luckily im getting it fixed at another salon but im wasting so much money to fix something. i dont recommend the huntington location. go to the dix hills one because they do an AMAZING job
