Dr.Lai is a great eye doctor. He listens to you about your concerns with your eyes and suggest a solution. I fell comfortable with him and the staff. I been visiting this Vision Source for over 18 year. Im very happy when I leave from my visit.

Ive been a patient for more than a decade! Dr. Lai has always been a personal favorite (i love when my doctors know me and seem genuinely happy to me)😊, but today I saw Dr. Hernandez and she was just as great. The entire staff is efficient, friendly and professional, plus theyve got a beautiful, well-maintained office and state-off-the-art equipment; all of which is why I keep coming back, year after year. As always I’m very pleased with the service.I was greeted when I walked in and immediately put into a room giving me space and privacy to complete my paperwork. My exam was carried out by a young lady who was also polite and professional.This was the first time I had seen another doctor other than my regular one and She was great. Taking time to answer my questions and address my concerns made me feel at ease , and I walked out of the exam room feeling better.The young man that helped me with my frames was also professional. I explained to him what I wanted and he let me choose exactly what I wanted.He explained everything about what my insurance would cover which was exactly what I was already aware of.Overall I’m pleased with my experience and will continue to use this location as my place for eye care.

I very much enjoyed the new facility, I’ve been a customer for a long time so seeing all the new things they have and seeing how they’ve expanded was very nice to see. As for my recent visit, I love the thoroughness there was when it came to my eye exam. The doctor that helped me, covered everything and made absolutely sure that my new prescription was right for me. I especially liked that after getting my new contact prescription she made sure that the contacts were comfortable and that I was able to see with them by running a few more tests with them on. The staff was very helpful when it came to me picking my glasses. The young woman that helped was incredibly helpful and paid a lot of attention to detail and gave great input. I didn’t think it was possible but Vision Source Meyer Park has improved on their already incredible service.

Open over 20 years, you can see why this place has such great reviews. I came here with my daughter for an eye test and they were courteous, professional, and super helpful and patient! Plus the equipment they used was higher-tech, and they didnt have to dilute my eyes, which I absolutely hate. Please note if you get a contact lense prescription, there is an extra charge in addition to the eye exam (not sure why).

I took my 80 plus year old mother to this place to get her some new glasses. She had her own prescription, Medicare, and her own glasses. They wanted to charge over $400 just for one pair of glasses. It was crazy. I took her to My Eye Lab and she got 3 pair of glasses for less than $300 with her Medicare discounts.

Dr. Lai and his staff are wonderful. They are thorough- explaining everything and do not make you feel rushed. I have been going here for years and even after moving across town, I still come over here because of the service!

The Optometrist was great and professional. However the Technician will overcharge you with small fee if you dont be observant. Got a call today after I got home for an additional charge of something they forgot. When bring your own frames you save but they will find other ways to elevate the total cost.

My wife asked if we received our prescriptions and the gentleman said yes. We didnt so I was unable to order my wifes contacts at Sams since my insurance provides no assistance for these.

So before they try to discount this by saying I was never a patient, they need to be aware of that.I went to Vision Source because it had great reviews online. Credit where credit is due, Dr. Lai and the staff were always courteous, the environment was always clean, and it seems like a well run office.However, they were lacking in the one thing that matters - helping people see better. I have a high prescription with astigmatism and myopia, and they simply could not give me a prescription that allowed me to see clearly. In the end I had to give them my year old prescription from my optometrist back home in order to even be able to see somewhat decently. The eyeglasses prescription Dr. Lai provided was nowhere near what it needed to be, and I confirmed that when I went back to my optometrist to have him test it.Given the modern equipment they have, I was surprised that they simply couldn’t handle my prescription. This experience made me decide to travel several hours to see my hometown optometrist just so I know I’m getting the correct prescription.Vision Source either needs better equipment or better knowledge. I appreciate their courteousness, but they need to be able to help people see correctly.

I really enjoyed my experience here. The doctor was great and the staff was amazing!! I dont know the gentleman who helped me (he was light skinned with curly hair) but he was the bomb. I was so undecided and Irene was awesome. I remember her name because we kept calling her for her opinion and she was just as pleasant and willing to give it. At one point I had everyone there helping me decide including the doctor. I would definitely recommend them for your vision needs. Thanks again guys!!

Great staff great doctor , but really wished the person who is in charged of taking care of the orders with the glasses had better communication. I went for an eye exam on May 28th and they never touched base with me if I didnt call them almost a month later , they probably wouldnt have called me. Finally said that July 13th I will have my glasses in.

As always my eye doctor was amazing, the assistant was polite, the wait time minimum to none and the lady who helped me to find the glasses for me was informative and patient.

I had been going to another eye doctor group for the past 6-7 years, but they no longer took my vision insurance, so I needed to find another eye doctor. I have driven past Vision Source many times, so I thought I would give them a try! The location is ideal (plenty of parking) and the staff was extremely friendly! The exam was very thorough and Dr. Pham was excellent - he is very engaging and knowledgeable! The frame selection is vast and Martha was very patient and helpful in finding me the right pair of frames for my vision needs. Overall, I was very impressed with the experience and I will definitely recommend Vision Source to my friends and co-workers on the same insurance plan! All in all, I am very happy that I had the opportunity to CHANGE vision care specialists!

Dr.Liu and company are great! Super personable guy, thorough, and you can tell he genuinely cares for his patients.Never had a problem with scheduling and they are very good at quickly verifying insurance and whatnot.Ive gotten glasses and contacts here, both had to be ordered, but got both quicker than the ETA they gave me, and they actually call you back like they say theyre going to!

Everything was great. The wait for my eye exam was pretty quick. Just didnt like the fact they said they would call when my contacts arrive. Said they should arrive in 2-5 business days. They came in, in 3 days no call. Waiting for 7 days until I had to go over there and ask about them myself.

AMAZING experience here! I went in as a new patient last week. Front staff were polite and knowledgeable. I initially had to reschedule and they were very accommodating. Once I walked in, there was a quick and easy new patient form to fill out. Minimal wait time. They were very patient as I blinked/shifted during the general eye check up. Dr. Lai is awesome - hes courteous, communicative, and never made me once feel pressured to answer quickly (something I cant say about the last place I went to). 100% will recommend to friends and family.

My husband went to this location today for an exam due to something in his eye the Doctor who saw him was VERY RUDE (Dr. Pham) he was very inpatient and told us if my husband could not keep his eye open he was not going to do anything and we had to go to urgent care he walked out of the room mad and told my husband to Man up I was like wow really never have we been treated like this anywhere! My kids and I also come to this location we see (Dr.Lai)and have never been treated like this but I think I will take my business somewhere else!! There front desk staff is very friendly ,nothing like the Dr...

Very complicated prescription had to be figured out, but Dr. Lai stayed on top of it until it was right. Corrected vision is back to 20/20!

Ever since Dr. Lai opened a second office elsewhere, service has declined. At my last appointment there was a new doctor (even though I scheduled with Dr. Lai). When I asked why I was scheduled with someone else I was told they thought I was asked. I wasnt. This year I called to schedule my annual visit and was told it wasnt time, but when I called today for my prescription (which was promised to me last week) I was told they could send it but it was expired. Apparently I was overdue for that appointment after all. Now I am in desperate need of glasses but have to find time for an appointment that should have happened months ago. An absolute mess. To be fair, Dr. Lai is good. If you can get your appointment with him.

This place is pretty good once you get there. They even have a fancy machine that replaces the need to dilate your eyes! No more being sensitive to light for hours afterwards. The reason for knocking off 2 stars is because its incredibly hard to get a response to schedule an appointment. I tried back in November and never heard back. Then I tried again for 3 weeks back in March/April and finally heard back. If you have a busy schedule or varying schedule that conflicts with their hours (like me), its an incredible annoyance because I cant actually call them during open hours. Especially when they are the only location that takes my insurance. (Note to owners: for personal security reasons, I never use my real name online, but I am actually a customer.)

Two stars only because Dr Lai is really nice and does a great job. But the receptions really need to get their act together. I have almost never been able to call and get the same information. This is the second time they delayed ordering my contacts. I had to cancel the first order and get expedited shipping with 1-800 contacts. This time, around I was getting conflicting information about a my insurance. They said my insurance would only cover the exam not the contact lenses fitting or contacts because I placed an order late last year. Called my insurance they told me they will cover my exam as well as contact lenses fitting. Had to call back the office to let them know that. After the exam, I wore my old pair of contacts (had one pair remaining) before trying the new ones. Called after two days to place an order and was told they were waiting for Dr Lai to verify the prescription. Called back a few days later, said the prescription was verified and order was placed. Came in today because the sample pack ran out, receptionist told me to come in for another sample pack. Came in, a different one told me they didnt place the order because I needed to pay half down. Asked to speak to whomever I spoke with on the phone, she told me the prescription wasnt verified until today and that the order wont go in until Wednesday and I could pay for expedited shipping if I wanted to. I told her to cancel the order and print me a copy of my prescription. She did and proceeded to tell me they cant give me another sample pack if I dont order contacts from them, but I can purchase them if I wanted. I told them no, that they messed up, that this is the second time this happened and how frustrating it was to deal with them. Receptionist went to talk to Dr. Lai who brought me the samples and apologized. Please train your workers, there has to be some consistency in your business, this is beyond ridiculous.

Very bad. I am wondering how this man,Dr. Steve Lai became a Doctor! He is a optometrist, not an eye doctor. He has no proper understanding about the mechanics of vision. He has just learned to see the eye fundus and prescribe glasses. My glasses were made 3 times but never corrected my vision. They give me headache and eye strain. I am not using them at all. I bought glasses from Bornes Nobles. They are doing much better job than his prescription. No courtesy, no respect to the patient. Only first time you enjoy the respect since you are paying. Once paid, you are stuck. Better go to some eye doctor for the prescription. Glasses you can order from anywhere.

Dr. Lai has been my optometrist for 16+ years. I had Lasik in 1999 and he was my pre/post surgery doctor. He monitored my post surgery very closely and Im very grateful for that because it was one of the best decisions that I ever made (as my eyes were over a -9.00 measurement for nearsightedness)! A few years ago during a comprehensive exam with pupil dilation he noticed that my retinas were thinning and referred me to one of the best retinal ophthalmologist in the U.S. What more can I possibly say to the level of care received as a patient? Dr. Lais knowledge of ocular care is quite vast. Furthermore, Dr. Lai is professional yet remains to be personable as well. Dr. Lai and his staff have been taking care of my visual needs from A to Z with annual exam reminders as well as recurring follow ups after my exam and dispense of Rx glasses. I am a happy patient!!!

Knowing my insurance would cover my expenses even though the girl at the desk couldnt seem to find anything, I selected a pair of glasses and paid $197. Other employees seemed to know Vision Source didnt take my insurance though nothing was said to me until I went to pick up the glasses. I couldnt see at all with them and did not take the glasses. After re-scheduling with my regular eye dr I asked for a refund of the $197. Im now told Dr Lai said no; I can only have $136 back, that I have to pay for the lenses but I cannot have them either! Though I was to have received phone calls about the refund, 2 employees called, but hung up never leaving a msg. Seems as if Dr Lai micromanages his employees as one said, I cant tell you - Ill get in trouble with my boss. Whatever happened to common courtesy and customer service? You wont find it here, thats for sure. And I will never go back to nor recommend this company to anyone.
