Dr Cantú was very rude and very unprofessional. She show no compassion. She talks over you and does not listen to what you have to say. Worse ophthalmologist ever. Would not recommend this place at all. Regret spending my co pay at this office.

Ive had Two appointments to see Dr. Cantu. So far, I havent met her. I get here and Im told that Im not going to be seeing her today, Ill be seeing someone else. Id LIKE to get to know the person who will eventually do the eye surgery, THANK YOU!And if you make an appointment, clear your entire day anyway. They never run on time. Ive been in the waiting room for 45 minutes. Last time, I waited 2 hours to see the doctor. You have to pay for the parking all that time, too.UPDATE: Surgery was scheduled for next week. Now we are less than a week away, Im scared anyway. Still havent met Dr. Cantu. Suddenly they insist on an approval from my neurologist but refuse to tell me why or give me further information. IM THE PATIENT! My Neuro is very busy, too. Hell want to know why she needs his approval and not my PCPs.Id cancel, but Ive spent enough $$ in co-pays for pre-op tests (3 visits). I cant start over.ANOTHER UPDATE: Ive decided to go with my gut and not let this woman touch my eyes. My vision is far too important to me. DO NOT go see this doctor.

So I am the only in my immediate family that DOESNT have eye problems. I was really worried about going to an eye doctor, but Dr. Cantu was GREAT! After explaining about my headaches and eye pain after being on the computer all day she knew right away what was wrong. And unlike other doctors, she HAPPILY answered my many questions about different treatment options available, and together we found what would be best for me health wise and money wise. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

She did not address the awful oozing infection in my Moms eye. Was not helpful in helping my 92 year old mom get out from behind the wheel. My mom has droopy eyelids and 10 years ago my father said she was running red lights. Cantu said....this is between you and your Mom. We are finding a new Dr..

Seen this ophthalmologist,, Let me start by saying that the front staff were friendly and nice but once you see Dr Dora Cantu she is very unprofessional, not on time, shows no compassion towards her patients at all. First and last time I see this ophthalmologist. I DONT RECOMMEND HER AT ALL.

No diversity in the office as far as ethnicity wise. And way too many hidden fees over 5K in charges that was received after services were rendered they make you sign a form telling you they arent responsible for the charges after services I see why 5 thousand dollars for what??? Optical side is just as worse over priced frames that are a fraction of the cost online... after all is said and done I would never bring any of my family here again nor will I recommend anyone to come here. Like a previous review stated they just want your money. Too much hassle coming to this office its located in the hospital and you have to pay to park not worth it.

Im a first time patient. Theres a couple of problems with this office. The address on file is incorrect. On paper it shows as 1470 w. 27th & it should be 1740 w. 27th. This caused the GPS to send me to a different location. Finally called the office for guidance. I continued to walk around looking for 1470 because front desk didnt clarify. This is a known issue because I stopped by the neighboring hospital facility and the receptionist knew what I was about to ask before I was able to finish speaking. Please train the staff to give proper directions with the known issues.Parking should come with instructions since W. 27th street is a dead-end.

Last year I saw Dr. Cantus partner, who has now left to join another practice. At the time, I recognized the incompetence of the office staff and their lack of professionalism, and I vowed never to return. I scheduled an appointment this year with a different doctor and called Dr. Cantus office to request that my medical records be sent to my new doctors office. This is something Ive done routinely for years due to a number of different medical issues, and this is the first time Ive encountered a problem. At first I was told I was required to come in person to fill out the required transfer request. When I explained that HIPPA does not require an original signature and fax/email is sufficient, I was transferred to Isa, a manager, who said the cost would be $35 to get a copy of my medical records. I explained that I am not requesting a copy of my medical records; I am simply requesting that she send a copy of my medical records to the new doctor in advance of my appointment. As I understand HIPPA law, charing anything is a violation since the records are not coming to me. I plan on filing a complaint with HHS. Incompetence in handling medical records indicates a level of sloppiness in other aspects of the practice, and prospective patients (and insurance companies) should be aware.

Avoid at all cost unless you want someone that is literally just in it for the cash. I had several corneal abrasions with recurrent erosion syndrome. The doctor gave me two options. Get something called prokera which is very expensive even after insurance it was 1200. Or to keep hydrated and see if it heals. I saw Dora literally over a year ago for this eye problem. I have been in extreme pain for over a year.I had my first prokera placed into my damaged eye. it was put directly over the wound which caused SEVERE pain. I cant even begin to explain, I had to have it taken out that day. I was still charged for it. I went for a few months without seeking help because I could not afford another prokera. The pain got so intense I asked family for cash and they helped me pay for a second. ON THIS VISIT her response was oh we should have used a contact bandaid to allow it to heal first then install the prokera.... GEEZE thanks Cantu like I could afford the first one, and you NOW KNOW you messed up? The second one went into my eye without any problems after having the contact bandaid in for a week allowing my eye to heal. For those that dont know recurrent erosion syndrome is when my eyelid pulls off the scab that healed my eye so when I have the contact bandaid in my eye lid cant pull it off. Sadly after 10 days with the 2nd prokera in my eye it DID NOT HEAL my eye. I woke up 2 days later in severe pain again... I was literally lost I had no idea what to do and still the only thing she said was prokera, apparently the only thing she learned in med school.Well fast forward through months of pain, and saving to go see another doctor. I went to see Dr. John Goosey this time for a second opinion over at Houston eye associates. He could not believe that she put not 1 but 2 prokera in my eye and was expecting me to place a third. His response was that it has places in the eye field but not to cure what I had. He said I needed lazer surgery. I was like OH GREAT how much will that cost me SURELY its more expensive than prokera. NO IT WASNT IT COST 1/2 OF WHAT PROKERA COST. I had the surgery about 2 weeks ago and I HAVE HAD NO PAIN. So here I am leaving this review. LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR!!!! Cares more about money than healing people.

We have been consulting Dra. Cantú for several years, she had a very good concept but the care they have had in recent years is no longer so good ... I took my son and the person who did it was not even checked by any doctor He did not even know what he was doing, in itself, he just paid for them to put the drops in his eyes and tell me that he was very good really the service is deteriorating more and more.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Cantú and she is a professional and her work is very excellent. Too bad that the 2 people were yesterday 11/13/17 attending to the front, they give her a very bad service. without consulting because kerian did not investigate my insurance coverage and after I give them the phone number with the insurance online fighting with each other sending me from window to window lousy service were totally disastrous from 1:40 k arrive we came leaving until 5 : 30 and all because they brought a lawsuit between them, so they are going to leave very few patients for Dr.
