I love Dr. Ritcher but her office does not respect your time. Dr. Ritcher herself is very caring and she always make a point to get to know me and makes sure all my questions and concerns are answered. She has incredible bedside manner and I don’t feel rushed. She has a very positive energy and down to earth attitude, I almost feel like I’m talking to one of my friends. Her nurses are great, and nurse Robin always calls me back and takes her time thoroughly explaining her answers to ensure I have a clear understanding.I went to Dr. Ritcher with both of my pregnancies. The 1st pregnancy her office was very efficient (I was in and out in about an hour or less back in 2019), I can’t say the same with my current pregnancy. I’m not sure what has happened to their scheduling system or how the office is ran, but every visit this year (2021) was at least an hour in the waiting room and then at least another hour to see her as once I was in the patient room, it was common for the visit to take up to 3 hours, which is very frustrating. You don’t feel your time is respected.

Dr. Richter was the doctor on call when I gave birth to my son. She’s so polite and sweet. She explained everything that was going on so that I’m aware. She also followed up with me the following day which my doctor DeAyala NEVER bothered to which means a lot. Thank you for taking care of me like I was your own patient. If you’re going to pick an OBGYN from Memorial Medicaid Group I suggest Dr. Richter!

Dr. Richter is an astounding OBGYN. I switched doctors to come to her in the beginning of my pregnancy and glad I made that choice. She was very nice, caring, attentive to my needs and concerns and Nurse Robin was the best as well. All the way to labor she was a great doctor and I got to eat before it all started. She is now my regular doctor and so glad I found a woman doctor that can be personable and like a friend all at one time. Every experience isn’t the same but that doesn’t determine Dr. Richter’s character on how is with her patients, because she cares and I know first hand. So I would 100% recommend her!

I would just like to say Dr. Richter is one of the best doctors! This is coming from nurses that work alongside her. We work with her first hand and she’s one of the kindest doctors and truly cares for her patients! It’s upsetting to read that she is being judged for having a life outside of work. She is a wife and mother and there are times she has to hand over care to another physician. All I have to say is you can’t please everyone!! But I would 100% trust her to take care of me or anyone in my family!

Dr. Richter is amazing. I moved to Houston 1/2 way through my pregnancy and could not find a doctor that would take on my delivery so late in the game despite no prior pregnancy issues or complications. Dr. Richter was kind and awesome throughout the entire process. She takes time to get to know her patients and has a wonderful bedside manner. I drive about 30 minutes to see her despite having closer options...definitely a great OBGYN!

Highly recommend Dr. Richter. I LOVE Dr. Richter. She was so easy going and personable while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Kept me well informed throughout my pregnancy about the baby and anything that was going on. I wanted to wait until after I gave birth to post this as I knew that was where I would really see how she handled things. She exceeded my expectations more than I can convey. The birth was easy and laidback without a room full of hospital personnel. My family was in attendance. I felt relaxed when she entered the room and just the whole vibe was amazing. 10/10 would birth with her again!

Dr. Richter was the doctor on call for my physician when I had my baby, I will refrain from giving my opinion out of respect to my doctor And stick with the facts. My birth experience was not ideal but everyone was healthy in the end. Dr. Richter cut into my bladder instead of my uterus to get the baby...... the urologist on call for the hospital was called to stitch me back up. I was awake for my c-section and was not put under for my impromptu bladder surgery. I came home with a catheter, which was a lot to manage with a newborn and breastfeeding.

I do NOT recommend Dr. Richter. I had her as my OBGYN since the beginning stages of my pregnancy. This was my first pregnancy and I was so happy to have found a good doctor based on her previous reviews. However, I wish I wouldnt have chosen her due to several reasons. First being that she is never on time. Every time I would show up for an appointment, she would be 20-50 minutes late due to double booking, running behind schedule, etc. This isn’t a great experience especially since you are pregnant and don’t want to be wasting time waiting for so long to go through a 5-minute check up. The other (main) reason for this review is the horrible experience I had on the day of delivery. Throughout my pregnancy, I was told that my child would be about 7 lbs - however, this was not the case. My son weighted over 10 lbs at birth. Dr. Richters justification was that the ultrasound is usually not 100 percent accurate. Even so, she should have asked me to do an ultra sound at least 2-3 weeks prior to my delivery to clarify how much he approximately weighted at that point. This would have saved me so much pain and suffering during delivery. Fast forward to my delivery date. I started getting contractions at 5 am. I called the office when they opened at 8 am. I spoke to Dr. Richters nurse Robin and she told me to go to the hospital whenever my contractions reached 5-minute intervals. Well, that happened around noon. When I arrived at the hospital, I got checked into a room by around 1:30 pm. The nurses that were taking care of me asked me when the contractions had started. When I told them that they began at 5 am, the nurses were surprised that I had checking in so late. I informed them that nurse Robin had told me to wait. When I said that, one of the nurses told me that I should have come in when the contractions started. Hearing that made me really upset because I had to endure so much pain for 5 hours for no reason. While being in labor, Dr. Richter checked on me twice. At around 4, my contractions were getting close to each other, so I was told to start pushing. Dr. Richter stayed only for a little while longer (20 minutes in all) because she had to go home and be with her kids since it was her birthday and her nanny had to leave. She abandoned me in the middle of pushing, so that she could go home to pick up her kids and celebrate her birthday. What kind of doctor abandons her patient in the middle of delivery? When she left, the hospitalist, who was very slow, took her place. Even this doctor would check on me every 40-50 minutes, even though she know how much pain I was in. I ended up PUSHING till 10 pm, until the on-call doctor came to the hospital and performed a C-section on me. I have never heard any one push for 6 hours, all because Dr. Richters mind was too occupied with the thought of going home for her birthday. If she would have stayed 30 more minutes, she would have witnessed the excruciating pain I was in and that my baby was way too big to be born vaginally. My poor sons face was flat because he had undergone so much pressure from being stuck and not getting out. Its truly devastating that I had to endure so much pain due to Dr. Richters neglect and the lack of care of the hospitalist. I pray that this never happens to another woman.

During my last trimester, I was informed that Dr. Tiffany Tarrant from UT Physicians would be leaving for maternity leave and that Dr. Maggie Richter would be filling in for her while she was out. I was extremely nervous since Dr. Tarrant had been with me from the start of my pregnancy. Although Dr. Tarrant was a great doctor, Dr. Richter is just as great. Her position became permanent at UT Physician and Dr. Tarrant was no longer there.Im glad I stayed with Dr. Richter as she helped me deliver a healthy 8lb baby without any complications. She was always thorough and really took time to address any questions/concerns I had. Fantastic doctor who really cares about her patients.

I am 38 weeks 5 days pregnant with my second child, and Ive gone to the ER twice for contractions and fluid leaking. The ER wanted to admit me, because Im in latent labor. Dr Richter said NO! I have to wait until I have unbearable contractions, or period blood. I live a little out the way from the hospital meaning if I wait until im ready to push she wont be delivering my child. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone.
