Ive been meaning to go to this museum for a while! The staff are so friendly and the tour was great! I got to learn a lot about Texan Czech history as well as Czech history! The tour was wonderful and informative, and the museum has the largest collection in the US of Czech glassware, which is so beautifully made. The tour was $12 for two people, and it was totally worth it! Its very close to other museums in the museum district, and its a gem in Houstons Museum Scene

We had such a wonderful visit to the Czech Center Museum! Sandra was so nice and welcoming and gave our small group so much info about the history of Czechoslovakia. So many neat folk outfits, and my favorite part was the collection of Czech glass and porcelain. Both Czechs and non-Czechs would find it interesting (we had both in our group). Thanks Sandra for your hospitality! :)

This is a wonderful museum if you want a first class experience over the Czech and Slovak people. The tour guides are wonderful and the ambiance here is incredible! The heart of the people is truly here at this building and it shows through their service of workers and volunteers. I went to their Oktoberfest there at the museum and had so much fun! I would definitely come back and visit. Added plus is that their gift shop has a lot of nice souvenirs to take home too :)

The Czech Center Museum Houston is the ultimate stopover in Houston Texas if you are of Czech heritage or not. Before you go please make sure you plan ahead and make an appointment. Whether its just yourself are you and your significant other or a group of any size they request that you call ahead or make an appointment on-line so they can provide you with a proper tour of their remarkable and memorable Czech heritage museum. If you happen to be driving there be sure to park in the back in front of a beautiful wall mural.Once invited inside the museum you will be asked to sign the guest log book and if you have time you will see people came from all of the United States of America and many different Countries just to visit Czech heritage in Houston Texas. One of the first things you will notice once inside this beautiful Czech heritage museum is the massive crystal chandelier and piano. When planning your trip for the museum please allow a minimum of Two to Three hours to fully absorb everything. Once the guided tour is over they will allow you to go back through any areas and take a closer look at something you may have missed, and you will miss something believe me.Make sure to bring your cameras and take lots of pictures for family and friends back home who will be so happy to see all of your pictures at the Czech heritage museum and learn more about who and where they are from. After the guided tour is over and you have gone through the entire museum again by yourself and the people whom you came with you have one more place to go.The very last place to go in the Czech heritage museum is the gift shop. There in the tiny back room gift shop you will find shelves and displays full of everything Czech including picture books, Czech language to English books, knick knacks, art works, corn husk dolls, and much much more. Dont worry about trying to get it back home with you on the plane or bus. They are more than happy to package it up for you and ship it to any address you should desire. So if you find something special for some family member across the Country, you can have the museum personnel ship your item(s) for you to your someone special. One final thing. Please be courteous and make a donation to the museum in an amount that is comfortable with your pocketbook. The museum operates off of donations and gifts and is self sufficient. They dont receive public or governmental grants to operate there budget on so once again---- Please donate what your budget will allow, nothing more.Michael Pekarek, a full blooded Czechoslovakian!

The Czech Center Museum Houston is truly a treasure in Houstons Museum District. The four story facility has the first and second floors available to host a wedding, professional meeting or dinner gala. I considered the Czech Center for my American Institute of Chemical Engineers Chapter 75th Anniversary Gala. The costs for dinner and dancing with valet parking were in line with the Racket Club and Rayburn Country Club. The third floor has a resident Czech Exhibit and Library. Additional traveling exhibits are always on display for you to tour. The staff and volunteers are enthusiastic, friendly, and most informative about Texas Czech and Czech history and culture. The museum hosts many events open to the public at no or nominal charge. And the gift shop has a wide variety of Czech keepsakes available for purchase. A tour with docent is only $5/person. I highly recommend a visit!Charles Waligura

My visit was awhile back and I well remember my tour. Mainly two things struck me: First, theyve done an excellent job creating a warm and royal feel to their beautiful new building. It has the feel of a classic castle. The finest materials were used, very high ceilings, lots of windows for light and a sweeping circular staircase surrounding a large magnificently lighted crystal chandelier. They have a serviceable kitchen, executive offices, sumptuous restrooms and elevators. Second their collection of Czech goodies in their gift shop were amazing, all original and hand-made in the Old country. Scarves, china ( Czech ware ), knick-nacks, books and post cards. Then theres the art created by extremely talented Czech artists. Many very colorful, representational and are all full of life. They may rotate the art works to show more works. Id highly recommend a visit ! Respectfully, Asa Weldon, Houstonian
