Brought my son here a year ago for mental health concerns. I can only speak about our experience. He was here 11 days. They are put in an open population with others who may have issues. My son was harassed by the patients in there and was seen maybe a couple of times and diagnosed quickly with bipolar. Given meds, not on them long enough for them to see the effects of it and sent home. Had to participate in group therapy that was $50 a session. Only a handful of sessions. Not given a list of psychiatrists that we can choose from so the search is left up to you. No follow up. Only for him to act out again a year later with his issues. Although hes a young adult (19), he has to make his own decisions although this is the reason why he was placed here. He cant make rationale decisions. All they want is money. Bill the hell out of your insurance and youre left with the balance with no results.

I was admitted to this hospital in late 2015, at the age of 16, for suicidal depression. My family and I were informed that, at any point, I could be discharged from the hospital if desired. This was a lie. Within the hospital, patients, including young children, were often neglected, verbally harassed, and in many cases had issues of depression and anxiety exacerbated by the staff’s behavior. On one occasion, I had a panic attack, and was forcibly wrestled to the ground by orderlies, forced into an Isolation room with hard, concrete walls, and was forcibly injected with tranquilizer in my rear, all while crying and screaming to be let go. This isn’t even scratching the surface of how bad this place was.Yes, this was over five years ago, but judging by the other “reviews”, this “hospital” has not improved whatsoever. Do not bring your children here, do not bring anyone here, do not come here yourself.

This hospital is amazing! The staff handled things in a very professional manner except when it came to loud patients and patients almost fighting. Besides that I love the therapists they were very informative and attentive. I came here and got the treatment I needed. The food is great. Excellent Psychiatrists and they really work hard with you and make you feel heard. Loved the groups and how staff treated us like human beings with decency not like disorders like some unprofessional psych hospitals. Houston Behavioral has really outdone themselves.

I love this place. I just left here feeling like a nice person. Mark was my favorite niece. He made me feel comfortable to let all things out. He didn’t just make my healing about meds only. He let me get out all the burdens I had. He was so humble and caring. At first I was scared, but he wanted to let us know we could be comfortable. He really made this a place to be. Every mental healthcare worker really taught me a lot. They let us express ourselves so they could best assist us. I really loved my Experience here. They made sure to always use the least restrictive method when it came to dealing with patients. I felt understood and heard. They really value our feelings here.

Two special needs patients were neglected and left to walk around covered in bodily fluids. Another paitent was beat, yealled at and sedated even though he was non-violent. The only reason I didnt gove this place two stars is because of the night staff. The night nurses were great, love them. 6/10 would not recommend.

Most (not all) of the nurses and orderlies are incompetent. No communication and Pamela, Anne, and Kenneth in Unit C North seem to refuse to do their jobs. Edward and Michelle were the only ones who werent hostile and incompetent. All of the amenities except the cafeteria were closed. The only upside is that Dr. Starbranch does come to this facility.Update: I also was not given any directions as far as taking medications upon discharge. No prescriptions or anything. This place is worse than Harris County Psychiatric Center, and thats saying a lot.

Someone I know had a bad experience here — her roommate did inappropriate things to her. What made the situation even worse is that when she asked to switch rooms and the staff said “no” because they “didn’t have enough proof.” Such incompetency should not be within the walls of buildings that are supposed to keep people safe.

I had a week stay in this hospital. I am grateful for the help i got. The technicians Went above and beyond to make sure I got the help I needed.Reason for 4 stars:Some of the nurses did not pay attention to your chart, 4 times the nurses try to give me medication that was only to be use for emergencies.Due to covid the interaction between psychiatrist and patient was limited. but their practitioners made up for the it.during my week only saw the therapist once and for about 10 minutes.overall the I was able to get back in track and get a new medication that so far has helped me. This place is a good stepping stone. Just remember to communicate with your technicians, doctors and nurses. Follow the rules. If something seems wrong say it.Bring Warm clothes. Just got back from a six day stay. My first word of advice is you will be cold. Pack a sweatshirt or something warm that does not have a hood. Most of the staff members are great between the MHT’s and the nurses I only had issues with maybe one or two people. It seems as tho the cafeteria staff may take their job for granted, we all had food poisoning Christmas Day which is unfortunate but the food isn’t terrible most days, I’ve had worse but I’ve also had better. You will most likely have a roommate (I only met one person who didn’t) if you have issues with said roommate do not be afraid to tell the nurses you’d like to switch rooms. They do have smoke breaks so you can either take a community cigarette or have someone drop off cigarettes just for you, your pack, your choice. There are plenty of opportunities to eat, you will be expected to wake yourself up for meals, bathe/shower, on your own time. There’s no designated time for things like calls, self care or break times. The schedule overall is relatively loose but there are 2-3 group session per day, 3 meals, 2 snacks, 4 smoke breaks etc. Overall it’s not a bad place, just some things that could use improvement.

My daughter had to spend 6 days at Houston behavioral and I have to say that this place is so wonderful. There are bunch of professional staff who took very good care of my daughter in the facility. Her stay at this hospital helped her to recover from the mental illness. Even though we reached there at a very busy time of the day, we hardly had any wait time at the admissions. She was assessed by a therapist and then seen by a psychiatrist. The assessment was detailed and thorough and the intake manager answered all our questions and concerns which helped to calm our fear of leaving our child in the hospital. The intake staffs were courteous, professional and go beyond what is expected. Her doctor was very compassionate, caring and he spend time to listen to her problems. My daughter told me that the staff at the unit treated her well and they were always willing to help her with anything she needs. She also liked the food there and I would highly recommend this facility to those who are seeking help for mental health related issues for their loved ones.

My niece was admitted to this hospital last year in December. My niece was treated with respect and dignity at this hospital. The doctors were professional and made a great effort helping my niece decreasing her symptoms. Because my niece was there for the first time, and was difficult to diagnose, her psychiatrist made a great effort to prescribe different medications to help my niece to decrease her psychiatric symptoms. Doctors, nurses and other mental health workers were nice, polite, and kind to my niece. We were able to bring food for my niece form home. The staff also helped us to arrange visitation time during the day because my nieces parents worked during the day. We were able to met with my nieces therapist for updates as much as possible. Not only did my niece received professional psychiatric service but also they helped us to transfer my niece to the medical hospital for possible neurological issues. I highly recommend Houston Behavioral for your any one who suffer from mental illness. Thank you Houston Behavioral Health for such good service.

I need to make it clear that my review is based only on the admission team. We did not stay and therefore I can not assess the services offered. My 13year old daughter was having strong suicidal thoughts. Her psychiatrist felt it would be good to have her at least evaluated, medication managed and we could decide if she should be admitted and stay as inpatient or be treated as outpatient. She wasn’t truly evaluated or cared at that moment. She was screened by a social worker and interviewed by a psychiatrist for 2 minutes via a IPad ( he never addressed me or my concerns) and once they determined that she needed to be admitted, I had no saying in it. I was informed that visitation hours were from 7:30 pm-8:30 pm the next day ( 24 hours later). She would be seen the next day by a psychiatrist and he DID NOT HAVE TO CALL THE PARENTS ( written in bold letters). If I decided to leave, AMA( against medical advice) , they would have to report me to CPS, who would come to my house that same night to take her back to be admitted. That information was repeated several times by the SW Jimmy and confirmed by the male admission nurse. It was like I was stuck in a horror movie. We left, I talked to her psychiatrist, who told me that no one was coming to get her, told me to complain and said she would complain as well.So , if you are considering this place, I hope this piece of information is taken in account.

If you have ever been to any other psychiatric hospitals you would know this place is the best one. It’s not perfect, but the staff are caring and they do try. This place has a huge campus that is beautiful. It has a pool, but the staff say it has not been used in a year, that’s a shame. I have a bad back and the pool would have been a great way to exercise and get more fresh air. The food isn’t bad for a hospital. As I went through to get my tray, I was always Greeted with a smile. The breakfast is by far the best meal of the day. My therapist what’s better than any I’ve had in a couple of years. I did learn a few new coping skills. The staff ( majority)Were rude and indignant. You Sit around and when you go up to desk , they ignore you even though you’re standing in front of them. It immediately made me think they were probably worse to patients. My daughter confirmed this.Forget talking to Dr about your child( my child allowed me to discuss everything). Then they say they are discharged and leaves you just desperate for information. What is plan? What are the meds? What are discharge recs? EtcAlthough there are beautiful enclosed grounds, patients only get to go outside to smoke and my daughter was in least restrictive unit. ( of course now she started smoking again, they provide cigarettes)You would think some staff could take a few patients outside to at least sit on benches for a bit. !!!!This is just my experience my roommate enjoyed it here and I know other people that did!!! I came in recently and stayed four days. First, let’s get the bad things out of the way. During the 3-4 hour process of admitted (I’m really unsure of the exact time but I got there at 5:30am and 3/4ths of the way through the process I saw it was 8am) I was left a lone in a room and even had to go knock on the door to ask for the next step. The covid-19 prevention there is, well non existent. Some patients weren’t wearing masks, they didn’t sanitize the equipment when checking all our vitals every morning, didn’t sanitize the water tank handle we drank from, no social distancing attempts of any kind, and one of the patients (someone I knew there) saw a nurse grab the medication from someone’s cup with bare hands (but again I can’t verify that!!).I asked to go over my potential bill with the business office that day and they said they would see me soon, I had to ask multiple times and still didn’t get to see them until the 3rd day. A lot of the nurses are really sweet, some our a little curt, but they do have a stressful job so I totally understand. You only have group therapy and a 4 min session with a psychiatrist a day. I asked what I medication they put me on and the side effects and didn’t get an answer. Even asked for a list before I left and she just said rudely what is was. I tried to Voluntarily leave because when I was admitted they said if I wanted I could just talk to the doctor (Played it down a lot). However, not the case at all. Basically I ended up having to sign a four hour letter (that wasn’t properly explained to me) to get out and so they just held me to the next morning which meant I still had to pay around $800 for the next day... For just the morning. They seemed mad that I wanted to leave and everyone turned more sour towards me. They never told me that by signing a four hour letter that I couldn’t leave with medication/a prescription nor could I have a doctors note. So, basically I was put on meds for four days and than left with nothing. There is so much more but honestly it is just making me frustrated talking about it. I went there to get help but now I’m to afraid to go back to hospital in the future (if I need to). Oh and when I was crying a nurse said to me rudely “stop crying or the doctor is going to keep you here even longer”. Now for the good.. really amazing patients, group wasn’t bad, nice beds, and I had an amazing experience with nurse Christine (I’m not sure how it’s spelt but she seemed to really care and hear me). The place is clean and nice. You really learn so much from the other patients. Also, you get to smoke outside three times or maybe it was four times a day and they have free cigarettes (which is nice).

I truly do not understand how you can lie to a teenage patient that is mentally heal with depression, PTSD, intellectual delay. I believe they just want you to come to there facility so you will be billed for the 7 day will bill your insurance at the same time they are drugging your child with different medications then they put you out... what a shame.I have a phone recording of every conversation I have had with this people. I was devastated, confused, heartbroken and scared when my child and I first arrived at the facility. I could only imagine what my child was feeling. The admission was a bit long and very strict. I was very uneasy leaving my child but was assured she was going to be safe and I would be updated often.I went home worried, heartbroken and could not rest, but as promised i was called that evening and the next day. Family sessions were arranged and updates were constant. The facility is well maintained and well managed. The staff is honestly caring and sincere. Everything was well organized and positive.I saw an immediate change in my child and it was wonderful. Of course there was lots and lots of tears and hugs. We were finally able to have discussions and honesty. The inpatient program was a huge help and major icebreaker for us. Then the outpatient treatment was phenomenal. I was constantly updated daily and my child was extremely receptive to the staff and program. The positive atmosphere was a huge help and constant encouragement. The Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital provided the treatment and the resources to help our child get on the right track. I now feel that we as a family have a better understanding and are more aware. If you have an adolescent that is struggling needs honest help, I urge you to please contact this hospital. My main problem is with the financial office. My daughter spent 5 days there and it did prompt a positive change for her. The thing is, the day she went in, NO financial information was given to me that day. (It was an emergency situation.) On the fourth day, they inform me that I have to pay 3750.00 out of pocket before she will be released. Now, four months later I am STILL trying to get the correct paperwork from them to turn into insurance. They dont answer their phones, they dont have access, and they dont call back when you leave messages. Also, I needed paperwork from the psychiatrist that treated her, and that also took forever and was charged 75.00 t write a sentence on a piece of paper. He also forgot to write the prescription for some meds she needed and it took forever to get that too. They are sure ready to take your money, but VERY unhelpful once their money is paid and your loved one is released. My advice? Not impressed AT ALL with this place. I hope there are better places in Houston than this.

The group therapy sessions were very helpful. John the Nurse in Charge always stopped by to ask me how I was doing. Hard to believe that the Nurse in Charge took the time to check in on me. I was demanding at times, rude at times, and not the best patient, but the nurses and the techs always found away to help me calm down and talk me through my moments of extreme anxiety. Damen the Tech was amazing, Mohmad the Nurse taught me about a few coping skills I can use when I get angry and explained my medication in a way that made sense to me. It took them 4 days to accommodate my food allergy and dietary requirements. That should be illegal. And once they did I was fed something that was freezer burned and looked like it had been in the back of a freezer for 6 months+. Nurses dont care about your needs.

I was referred by our school counselor, I went wanting out patient services that would be covered by Medicaid . My child already sees a therapist , that did not take Medicaid but worked with me on a sliding scale . If I could get additional help at no cost to me I thought this was a good thing... when we arrived I was told they no longer did outpatient services , but they asked me to fill out paperwork anyway . They did a video ( Skype) interview with my child and a Dr . That lasted a whole 2 minutes . They then wanted to admit my child . I told them NO. I didnt think this was necessary, I just wanted outpatient meetings . When I told the girl( Sara) I was leaving , she THREATENED ME! She said if I refuse to follow their suggestion that my child needed to be admitted that she would call CPS on me ! My child was not violent , he was not a harm to himself or others . This was absolutely overstepping their authority! Sure enough next day CPS was at my door . Nothing came of the interview with CPS . I was able to show the case worker that I currently had my child in therapy . He was not a threat to himself or others and I told her they are abusing their power over there !! I will tell everyone I can DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE !!!!!!

My teen is currently here. I am NOT impressed. They gave me papers with all the information. Weekend visitation is stated as 3-4. After paying a babysitter and driving an hour I show up to be told that the hours have been changed and it’s now 7:30-8:30.The part where my daughter is located is so dirty. The floors, the windows, the walls all disgusting. You will get a different answer from every staff member if you have questions. It’s been a nightmare.

Im not sure where to begin with how terrible this facility is! As soon as they have to put in a little bit of leg work to get your insurance to extend their coverage they just want to boot your child out regardless of whether it is safe for them or not. I even got with our insurance company and explained that we are working on finding a residential care facility and to please extend her coverage, and they gave me the exact number and department for HBHH to call and what to say, and they still wouldnt do it.They were adamantly trying to discharge my stepdaughter who, less than 24 hours prior, was expressing suicidal thoughts and very self-destructive behavior and plans for as soon as she was released. She has been there a little bit longer than their typical stay because we are working feverishly to get her into a top-notch long-term facility, but their admissions process is a little bit lengthy and right now we do not have an alternative safe environment for her to be in while we arrange a bed for her. We have explained this to just about every staff member there and they couldnt care less, especially her doctor. on top of the fact that they basically just called us at 4 in the afternoon and said we had to pick her up or they would call CPS, no one there has been able to pronounce her name correctly since day one, and it is not a difficult name to pronounce, that is how much they care about their patients. We gave them her current medications and dosages when they admitted her and they were calling us three days later because they said they couldnt find any record of it and had basically just been denying her medication that whole time. The phone therapy session that was supposed to take place between her father and mother who do not live together was completely botched because the doctor assumed that they were coming in in person, so instead of trying to reach out to them he just sat there for an hour and wasted the entire session and called them afterwards asking where they were. Everybody that has called there, including various providers of ours trying to get medical records, has had so much difficulty finding anyone that can actually help them because a majority of the staff is unable to provide any information, there is also a very hefty language barrier that is very difficult to work around as well. When you talk to the nurses and ask for anything to be done via email they say they do everything on paper and no one has an email address, and the worst part about them trying to discharge my unwell stepdaughter into our care is that one of the things holding up her admission into her long-term facility is their lack of organization in inability to send her medical records to them! The amount of unprofessionalism, lack of communication, and unwillingness to work with parents of adolescents is completely mind-boggling! Last night we actually had to contact CPS ourselves to seek out options, and when we had just about lost hope and my husband was going to pick her up while I was locking up anything that might pose a danger to her around our home CPS finally time to reach out to Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital themselves and advised that they were not letting them release her as she is a threat to her own safety. This whole issue has put an outrageous strain on our entire family and hers, and we basically spent eight hours last night after work calling around place to place trying to see what we should do because she is not in a place where she can be left alone safely at the moment. It could have been avoided if they had heeded the advice her mother, father, and myself were trying to give them about her all night. Please, whatever you do, if you love your child do not take them here! If your hospital is trying to refer you to this place ask for another location, Im pretty sure any place would be better than this one.

Spent a week there after some stupid things I did to keep my family to in my life. It wasn’t till my family session that I truly saw the hurt and shame I brought to my wife and two wonderful kids. I know my drinking was bad, but I thought I could handle it. The therapist taught me how to start to gain control and how to open up to my wife. I’m very thankful I was brought to this hospital.

Fake name for obvious privacy reasons. I was a recent patient here.On the Adult General Ward, they dont actually run most of the treatment groups listed on the posted schedule. If you enquire about these activities, you are met with blank stares and a slow shake of the head. Let me run that one by yall one more time. You are locked in this facility. You cannot leave. Youre theoretically trying to get treatment. Instead, you sit on your butt watching Martin reruns while staff gossips instead of running the mandated treatment programs. Dont get me wrong, I love Martin as much as the next person, but this isnt what Im here for.If you want treatment, go somewhere else. If you want to watch Madeas Witness Protection while trying to ignore the overmedicated gurgles of your fellow inmates, this is the facility for you!

I was admitted here last year. The staff is very nice and well rounded some were a bit rude but not all. The food was good and they dont force you to eat. We had doctors talk to us individually about what was going on and they were nice too. They do your laundry about every day if you need it. And you can do yoga go swimming and go the the gym and play or do arts and crafts it did help me slightly they put me on some medication and talked to me. I hope this review helpes you.

Very poor communication from doctors and therapists. It was our first time dealing with a very difficult situation with our teenage daughter and we never received any information on how they diagnosed her or treated her. Doctor Raj never spoke to us about her situation, what caused it and how she was going to be treated. They only gave her medicine without ever speaking to us or explaining how long she would be taking it nor what to expect or proceed after her release from the hospital. This is a very difficult situation for us as parents and we felt lost. We would have appreciated guidance and information regarding the process and treatment of our loved ones.Houston Behavioral Hospital definitely needs more sensitivity and communication skills. We left as lost and confused as parents as when we first arrived. They treated our daughter but we were never explained what happened there.

The actual hospital and in-patient care is AMAZING!The BILLING office, especially JOY is an absolute mess. They quote incorrect amounts for services and when you challenge line items or amounts, their standard line is Pay us now and well reimburse you for any overages. It took 14 MONTHS and weekly calls to the insurance company for HBHH to realize their mistake and issue the credit.

Ok where do I begin, I would love to give this place 5 stars for the sake of the techs and nurses but until they get rid of the cno Rhonda selman that place is going to hell, she is a complete brick wall, no compassion for people whatsoever the only thing she is concerned with is her job/title and flexing her muscle to show that she’s in charge but doing a terrible terrible job she does not care about her staff whatsoever nor their safety, houston behavioral needs Cindy back as cno because she was a phenomenal woman and supervisor there is not a soul that didn’t love Cindy or Helena both registered nurses, the staff are awesome together minus Rhonda and a tech named Damien Heads he is a dirty little munchkin he snitched and lies on people and that’s how he gets his way around the hospital it would be nice to see him go along with Rhonda I would love to hear she limped her cripple behind right out the door then maybe the turnover rate will cease because she’s running all the good people away corporate office needs to be looking into this no job should have a turnover rate this bad, I come there often, had acquaintances in the hospital there so I get to see a lot that goes on there and I also have a good rapport with many of the techs and intake people, I have spoken to Rhonda on several occasions and her spirit is empty she has not a single clue as to what she should be doing she does not belong in psych, in fact Katherine the scheduling coordinator is the one who really calls all the shots Rhonda is just the cno by title but she follows Katherine’s orders now how about that.? Really sad. Get Rhonda OUT!!!!!!! Now!!! She needs to find herself a man maybe then she won’t be so cold and bitter and would properly adjust that wig or better yet buy a better one run along Rhonda better yet limp along Rhonda

My admission date was 2/13/19, and I was on the general psych unit for medication stabilization. This was the best acute inpatient Ive been to Houston. I previously have been to West Oaks, Cypress Creek, IntraCare North. I was a direct admit patient, so the admission process was very quick. Dr. Chen was an extremely knowledgeable psychiatrist that I saw here, and his nurse practitioner was amazing, as well. He respected all of my concerns and wishes which was very important. Al was a wonderful therapist, as well as, a couple others on the unit. I responded very well and actually learned in group therapy, which was a first. It is the reason why I am choosing to do IOP as a step down program right now. The patient advocate was incredibly helpful in resolving specific concerns while there. I know Im only one person but I had a good experience, and I would come back if I ever needed. The reason I am giving for 4 stars is that the schedule was pretty bland. I had a ridiculous amount of free time on the weekend. I brought things to do so it wasnt that bad, but it would had been extremely boring for me otherwise. Also, there wasnt individual therapy. There is just the family session that is required prior to discharge. If you wanted to see a therapist, you had to see them in their free time.

It isn’t helpful. Nothing they do here is beneficial to someone with severe anxiety and depression. The only thing they do that works is threaten people not to act depressed and punish them with more time in the hospital if they do show depression or anxiety. They were supposed to call in my prescriptions the day before I was released, but they never did. When I went to pick them up only to find they weren’t there, I called the hospital three times before I was connected to the right person, and even then, the person I talked to didn’t know what to do. When I told her that my prescriptions were not called into the pharmacy when I was discharged, she literally said, “So how can I help you, exactly?”

Went here for detox from alcohol. The people in this hospital are crazy and demented... and the the patients aren’t very stable either. J/J... the staff, nurses, and doctors are kindhearted people. But seriously, the problem is that you will be placed in the same room/unit as violent felons who have been transferred there from jail and Ben Taub. I am a big dude so I can handle myself but if you are vulnerable... there is very little protection for you. This is the only psychiatric hospital I have been in, so I don’t know if they are all like this.

The only reason this gets 2 stars is because I was there 2 years ago and they were great. I went back last night and had a horrible experience. When I came in, I wanted privacy to tell them my situation and they refused and made me tell them in the lobby with a patient right there. Im pretty sure that is against HIPPA laws. Then, I waited 3-4 Hours to get assessed. When I finally was assessed they told me they couldnt admit me because I dont have insurance. Why did I have to wait for that long just for them to tell me they cant/wont help me? Btw, I was suicidal earlier in the day but that didnt matter either because I wasnt at that moment. This is a freaking joke! Please do something about this!!

My minor son was brutally assaulted by one of the staff members who went by the name Mr. Cody. The staff member was fired and led off the property. Charges have been filed. My son was battered, bruised and was left with 6 staples in the back of his head. Even though the staff was apologetic, they became silent. The hospital became more interesting in covering themselves than helping my child through the ordeal. I had my son transferred to a different facility to deal with the horrible trauma hes experienced. Its heartbreaking as a mother to have your child harmed by the very people you trusted to protect him. I am a fair person and have to say that there are few great staff members there that did not let self preservation trump their humanity and they were good to my son until he left. The way the hospital treated the situation was horrendous in my opinion. Outrageous.

We had to put our elderly loved one in this place, and we really regret it. Here is what to expect as a family member. Little to no communication from the doctors or staff on your loved ones care and treatment. When you go to visit you only get ONE hour to visit, they set it up so that you can only visit one time during the day or evening for one hour only. You cannot bring anything, (except clothes/underwear) they supply everything. Your not even allowed to bring books or magazines for your loved one to read. When you get there for visitation, not only do you have to put all items in a locker (if they have enough keys) or a paper bag, you are given no guarantee that your valuables will be protected from theft. You are not allowed to bring in ANYTHING, not our phones, no magazines, books, not even a piece of paper. All visitors have to stand in a line and get wanded over your body, like TSA at an airport, and they inspect you before you go in, kind of like a jail. The place smells of urine and it looks run down. As far as care goes, what we saw with our loved one; In just over a month since she has been in there, there has been zero communication to us about her care, medications, what the end game plan is for her care when she gets out. She seems worse now than she did when she went in. Each time we visit her, she seems very over medicated, and at one point she had serious swelling of her face arms and legs. We wanted to take pictures of her swelling and they would not let us. The nurses seem to have a jaded callous inattentive attitude with family members (and with the patients there) when they try to find out how their loved one is doing. The nurses told us they saw no swelling when it was very very obvious looking at her arms and legs she was swollen, (it felt like we were being gaslighted by the staff) they brushed off our concerns and said they would let the head nurse know about it. The feeling we got is that the management seems more interested in keeping these patients in there for the money, and not giving good quality care. We are unable to transfer her out of this place, and her doctor NEVER calls us back or responds to our emails. We have left numerous phone messages, sent emails, and still no response. We feel helpless to help her. We watched an elderly patient have a bad fall while we were there, and the nurses were slow to help this patient to get up, we were mortified. On another occasion we saw a patient have a violent outburst with a nurse. All I can say is that we are trying to figure out how to get our loved one transferred and out of this place, we may have to look at legal options here. Stay far away from this place, I would not recommend this as a place for your loved one if you want to see them get better.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I was denied water on several different occasions. The staff would openly talk and make fun of the patients. There were several days when I heard the staff saying they wanted to take pictures of me when I was in my worst state, unable to think or move because of how much medication they put me on. I also told them I was ready to leave on a Monday, but they kept me there for another 4 days even though I was there voluntarily and clearly ready to be discharged. Do not send any family members here. Worst treatment by the staff. They treat you more like youre in prison than in a hospital.
