Showed up for my 11 am massage and found out that I did not confirm by appointment when “Linda” called. How ever no calls came from the Linda. So the receptionist told me she will call me later that day to come back for my massage. That was Thursday September 16 and still Monday 20 no phone call. One star is generous.

I transferred into Phoenix from another massage school. I had a wonderful experience and education. The teaching staff is fantastic and truly want students to succeed. The focus on holistic care is what sets this program apart. We learned so much more than a formulaic Swedish routine, we learned to be thoughtful, evidence based, intuition led practitioners.

So I just filed a complaint against the school w the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. My complaint is due to my not receiving my certificate due to the schools apparent misplacement of approximately 20 hours of makeup work. The schooling was payed in full by the state of Texas through a Rehabilitative Services program. Now, due to their loosing my makeup work, the school has implied I will have to re-enroll at a cost of 500 to me and pay per hour to go the approximate 20 hours of makeup work a cost I estimated to total 800 for me. I refuse to give this school one single penny. When I attended Mrs Virginia was an instructor and she and Gloria are who I completed my makeup work with...the instructors were great. But stuff like the above is something you should be mindful of when considering this school.

I am a recent graduate of this school. The education I received from this school was priceless. The instructors go above & beyond of what they are required to teach. They really make the class more than just learning about massage. With these instructors you become a team of all learning together. The material covered provides more than adequate information to get you going. I really can’t say good enough things about this school & the instructors, but the instructors made my learning & experience meet greater expectations. I highly recommend this school for this very reason. The instructors enrich your learning experience above & beyond.Debbie class of July 19, 2019

Everything and everyone here have been very helpful. Each student has the responsibility to study for the exam. The course was very easy. This school is the best. Jessica is very helpful and nice. I recommend to read the main text massage therapy book and the free study apps in the play store. This helped me a lot.

This is one of the best massage schools in Houston. I graduated from this school some years ago. I recently went back there to see how they are doing and buy some massage lotion. I saw my former teacher, William, he along with Dr Z and Gail taught us so many wonderful healing modalities. Phoenix school of massage has a great student massage clinic as well as an Open House where prospective students can tour the campus, ask questions and get class schedules. They also help connect new graduates with potential local employers in the Houston area. The Phoenix School of Massage and Holistic Health is highly recommended to anyone who is looking to go to a school where they are truly serious about teaching you real anatomy, physiology and effective massage.

I believe this school was the best choice for me above any other choices I had during my school selection process. My first reason was because it was the most affordable choice available. Secondly, they had offered a fast track plan. I am an adult who was lucky enough to have the chance to change my path in careers, but in my reality time and money are variables I had to prioritize. During the entire program I always had the support from Mr. William, who lives and breaths Holistic Healing. I loved asking him questions about Herbal and natural medicine. If you ask him anything about what part of the body you are trying to improve, he has the answers and with great pleasure will he educate you in it. As for my other instructors Like Miss. Nikki, who has over 35yrs in multiple bodywork modalities and the patience to ignite that spirit in you to become a healer in the arts. To Nathan, and Nashelle, who were also very motivating and great instructors who also practice in the field and always willing to go out of their way to help anyone of us in need. The staff who worked with us tirelessly to get us our credits and work completed, they also helped us get our testing and license. The entire group of individuals is what I call a TRUE TEAM thats YOUR DREAM come true. All you need is a positive attitude and the will and you too can become a part of the team you can count on for life with them. Thank you everybody at Phoenix. I love you, always ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💓

Great school. They integrate holistic therapies in their curriculum such as acupressure points from the Traditional Chinese Medicine, shiatsu, and energy work. Proper body mechanics are consistently implemented during massage to protect our body from injuries. My favorite part is the hydrotherapy class in which we learn about Spa treatments!! Its affordable compared to other schools and I finished the program in 4.5 months instead of 13 months.

This school and their instructors changed the course of my life. I was a career corporate employee with a passion in massage therapy and therapeutic work. I enrolled at Phoenix because of their vast knowledge in holistic approach. I graduated and passed my board exam and am now a Licensed Massage Therapist. This catapulted me into deeper cultivation of my health and wellness career and since have also become a certified yoga teacher, certified in Reiki, certified in aromatherapy modules and currently becoming a Registered Nurse. I love this school! You get out of it what you put in to it.

Phoenix School of Massage provided a great foundation for my career in the spa industry back in 2001. Taking the exam back in the day was no problem due to the preparation our teacher spent with us . Great packages for intern massage from a school that has been around for a long time! They have not just curtained rooms/partitions like most massage schools, but 3 actual rooms. A really nice hydrotherapy room with a shower and a large soaking tub too. Best price packages if you want to get massages on a regular basis and not have to buy a contract like the franchises that I use to go to. I won’t be MH or ME customers any more and would rather get the student interns to work on me. If you want to study at the school, there’s options for day classes and night classes too to fit your schedule. Just ask Jessica at the front desk and she will help you with setting up your massages or getting enrolled.

If I could leave a review with 0 stars I most definitely would. I have been trying to get my student account reopened since February of this year to finish paying off my loan and to see my student records. It is now mid June and my account still has not been reopened and anytime I ask to see my records Im told that someone will have to go find them in storage in order to reopen my account and that they may have been destroyed during Harvey. I called numerous times between March and May and still wasnt able to get the answers I needed. I went to the school on May 3rd 2018 to speak to someone in person and they were able to pull up my account information in less than 5 minutes. I made a payment of $2000 that day and was told that my account would be reopened and the money applied to my account and I could begin making payments as soon as someone from the north campus contacted me to sign some paperwork. A 1 week goes by and I havent gotten a call to schedule a time to sign the paperwork so I contact someone at the north campus and she tells me that she will get in contact with the owner to find a solution for me to get the paperwork signed since our schedules didnt match up. Two weeks later I send a text to follow up with her and I still havent gotten any response over a week later. I decided to call the finance company today June 15 to see if my account had been reopened and was informed that not only has my account not been reopened but the $2000 I paid over a month ago has not been applied to my account. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this school. Some of the instructors there are very very good at what they do but there is so much miscommunication everywhere and its such a hassle to get anything from them once theyve gotten your money.

Hate writing bad reviews, but this place seems poorly organized and hopefully some constructive criticism will help. Phone numbers on site and google were not up-to-date, and the online booking didnt seem to work...so I walked in yesterday to try and get an intern massage for today. The place seems a bit disorganized and I was asked to leave my number and Id be called by someone to setup an appointment (still waiting for that call). The person I spoke with WAS friendly at least. While Im hopeful this place is a good school, it seems like they need an overhaul of their intern massage offerings...it shouldnt be that difficult to get something on the books.

I was suffering from Anxiety and Depression and my experience here helped to alleviate this as a result of giving and receiving massage. It helped me become a better person overall. Wish I could give them a 0. I understand that over a decade ago this school was great. Some local magazine once—well over a decade ago—said that they were the best school in Houston. This is something William, the owner, will remind you of over and over again. But that is not the case now. I was a recent graduate. Never learned how to massage. I need to go get additional training if I’m going to work in the field. Do yourself a favor, spend a little bit more initially so that you don’t have to spend more later learning what they were supposed to teach you. They don’t prepare you for the MBLEX and they expect the students who have been working without a license up to this point to teach everyone else how to massage. Like the other person said the lesson plans are chaotic. They have multiple teachers and whoever they can get to show up that day is who teaches you. 1/3 of the day is the teacher trying to figure out what we have already learned and what we haven’t. Another 1/3 is open book quizzes and the last third is trying to locate the teacher.Run away while you still have your money!!

This school is TERRIBLE. Run, run as fast as you can away from this place. I attended the north campus for weekend classes. Classes were all over the place. Literally! We started off in Shiatsu our first Sunday. Luckily, I come from an exercise science background and had prior knowledge to anatomy. However, there were students who didn’t have any knowledge in the area, which makes it extremely hard to learn. We stayed on that topic for about two weeks and then jumped into something else. We had an instructor come in mid-way through the semester to take over for an instructor who just up and quit. Well, problem is, HE KNEW NOTHING!!! We would literally have to tell him what we were working on...and then we would sit there for hours. The north campus is filthy. The ceiling was coming down. There were termite looking insects everywhere. The treatment rooms were horrid as well. The molding was coming off. I was embarrassed to bring clients into this establishment. I had to forewarn them. They also tried to make us sign a contract, which I refused to sign. I don’t remember what all was in it, but I do specifically remember it saying they would provide clients for our internship. THEY DO NOT PROVIDE CLIENTS FOR YOU!!!!I also can’t forget, instructors and students were having inappropriate relations............................The only positive was having Gloria as one of our instructors. She was GREAT!! Very knowledgeable and showed us many techniques. Unfortunately, the owner had her working TOO MANY positions, including administrative and enrollment, which put a strain in the classroom (especially when they had walk-in prospective students).I passed the MBLEX the first time. They did not prepare us properly for the exam. There was information on the exam we never covered!!!If you want a quality education, this is not the school for you.
