Just completed my first week at Cortiva, and it has been an amazing experience thus far! The professors are truly setting you up for success and very patient with all of their students. The energy in these hallways and classrooms show the enthusiasm and passion they share with everyone.Hands-on learning, proper learning tools, and the administration are all top notch! Highly recommend this campus and cant wait for whats to come!

To begin, I really liked the staff at the school. Though one of the teachers was new and didn’t know much about teaching that can be overlooked because of how passionate the other teachers were. I, unfortunately had to leave early since my husband was relocated to Austin. This is when things went south. I first wasn’t informed that I dropped after the drop period, but was told something completely different by the staff that I was fine and would pay for materials that I used. Then, a year and a half later without hearing a word from anyone, even after following up, I’m getting letters from a collection agency for thousands of dollars and no clue why. When I reached out to see what the heck happened I was told I didn’t pay my bills and it was sent to a collection service .Everyone was treating me like it was a mistake I made and they frankly didn’t care. They didn’t even send the correct amount and admitted they sent a higher amount to collections (that was incorrect) which I was forced to pay or have a strike against my credit. After going back and forth, they said in an email that they had the wrong address (even though I updated all my information with them after I moved).Basically I was penalized for their lack of organization/communication and the poor response I received from Christina was infuriating. I never miss paying my bills and when you think how young some of these kids are in this school it would be a huge hit to their credit scores early on in their life. You are still in customer service and the things you do affect people’s lives. I hope this does not happen to someone else who doesn’t have the means I do to handle that kind hit.

My massage therapist is amazing! My problem is the front desk. The guy with the tattoos on his head was helping me check in when all of the sudden the phone rang. I’ve worked customer service before you always help the customer in front of your face. Put the caller on hold while you check me in! Well he decided to assist the phone caller and schedule their appointment. That was very rude and unprofessional. Probably won’t be coming back after my friend graduates.

We received coupons in the mail for $5 off the $25 student massage, so I thought what the heck? A massage for $20--how bad could it be? So let me answer that first: The massage itself was actually quite good; better than I expected, and worth more than the price. Now, to be fair, it wasnt a $100 massage. But as student massages in a clinical setting go (think draped-off massage cubicles in a big room with everything in earshot), it was very good. And I liked Anthony, my therapist, a lot. He was friendly, personable, and professional. I asked for deep tissue and he actually delivered that in a few instances. Now, what is bad is the whole check-in process. I arrived about 5 minutes late for my appointment, which turned out to be not an appointment at all; I think its just a way to have the front desk communicate with the clinic on approximately how many massages will be required. Oh, and theres no way to guarantee the gender of ones therapist. I have a strong preference for a male therapist. It was pure chance that I got one, and in fact, the first therapist who approached me as available was female. This translated to my having to wait longer. I arrived at the clinic at 2:50 p.m. and my massage began at 4:15. So, this thing is experience is really hard to review. As I said on my written evaluation after the massage, I would actually like to see Anthony again after he graduates, in a different setting--whether it be in a spa, in his own studio, or in my home. He was good and has the potential to be excellent. But the overall experience was not pleasant.

Love the massage received, totally worth the price. The only thing is, is when I was laying down looking up at the roof, there vents needed to be cleaned bad. But the staff and the students are wonderful.

Booked my first appointment at Texas Center for Massage Therapy for last Saturday. Arrived 20 minutes before my appointment time to find that 10 students did not show up for their class/job that day. If I was to keep my appointment that day, I had to check in and pay then possibly wait for hours. That is not how I planned to spend my Saturday morning. So disappointing. Price sounds amazing and working with people excited about new skills appeale to me. But, if you book, I suggest you call before you head over there for your appointment before you waste your time.

As i sit in the parking lot and reflect over this almost 2 year journey i can not help but to feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude that came from these 4 walls. Admittedly, i was not the best student. I was sometimes distracted, unfocused at times, or simply lost motivation. However, the lovely staff here at Cortiva Institute (TCMT as i will always know it as) never gave up on me. They were always gracious with my academic difficulties, always held me accountable, and put positive but endearing pressure on me to succeed, no matter what. Every single time i entered the school, late or not, i was always greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. If it were not for the amazing staff here like Ms. Zulema, Ms. Marilyn, Ms. Mary and the many instructors that i worked with i would have surely given up. I am beyond thankful for choosing Cortiva as the foundation for my career and restoring my sense of confidence not only as a professional but as a human being.

Piss poor ran school....their methods of keeping track of information is sub par. If a teacher/professor does not turn in the paper work then they wait till the day before to try to straighten it out. Get a computer. And I think any Joe Blow off the street can teach here.
