From the day of injury and the initial appointment with Dr. Henry, we have felt like a priority. The surgery and aftercare team were kind, thoughtful and informative, setting my daughter up for a life after injury. Today my daughter graduates from her care and is released to activity, with a good plan to return to her previous level of play, all thanks to Dr. Henry and his staff.

In April of 2021 I first met with Dr. Henry about my previously diagnosed Kienbocks disease. Even after a surgery I had with another doctor to help my wrist I was still experiencing pain, and limited on my everyday functions. Immediately he was able to explain to me why I was still in pain, and provided many options for treatments. We went over his years of experience, studies, previous patient successes, and even previous patient set backs. I fortunately was able to set a treatment with him, and when I was ready was able to get in for surgery in a timely manner. The after care for surgery was phenomenal, minimal pain, and much less stressful for my family. The office staff was so responsive, and helpful. As of now I will be looking forward to my one year anniversary appointment, and I could not be happier with my results.

I broke my right wrist, and had severe damage to the joint and tissue. Broke my hand playing basketball and my doctor told me surgery wasnt necessary but that it was up to me. I didnt feel right about him so I immediately started researching hand doctors in Houston and decided to visit with Dr Mark Henry for a second opinion. From the beginning, Dr Henry was extremely confident and knowledgeable and told me directly that I needed to have surgery asap! If I waited any longer it would just complicate the situation so I was able to schedule surgery the next day! Dr Henry and his staff took great care of me and scheduled plenty of follow up appointments with x-rays being done at each visit to make sure the bone was healing correctly and not shifting. I am a high school student and spent a week at the Hand and Wrist Center of Houston as an observer. I have seen Dr. Henry interact with patients all week and I have seen only positive things. Dr. Henry has a way of making the patient feel reassured that they are in good hands (which they are), makes sure to give a very in depth and detailed explanation, and makes sure to lay out the possible treatment options for the patient and solely the patient to choose. I have had several procedures performed by Dr. Henry over the past 10 yeas. I chose Dr. Henry based on his outstanding credentials, and experience in providing successful outcomes on complex procedures. In 2011 and again in 2015, I had successful carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand and left hand respectively. Most recently in 2021, I had trigger finger release performed on two of my left hand fingers in January, and trigger release of my index finger on my right hand in May. I chose surgery after several, simple, non surgical procedures were tried to provide relief. At each step, Dr. Henry explained fully, pros and cons of each procedure in detail. All surgeries I have had, have been successful, and I am very pleased with my outcomes. I feel comfortable that with Dr. Henry, surgery is performed only when necessary, and when required, he is the best to perform it! I came to see Dr.Henry after a 19 year old injury. I was not able to bend my small finger at all, or to make a full fist. I did not have the ability to fully bend the finger. After visiting with Dr. Henry and going over options, which by the way he explained everything in detail, what the procedure entailed and what were expectations from my end to have a successful recovery. I decided to have surgery. Ease of scheduling the procedure and post op recovery was incredibly smooth. Dr. Henry and his staff were wonderful to work with on both treating and recovering from my hand injury. Dr. Henry lays out all the options and expected outcomes from each option then allows you to choose the treatment that makes the most sense for your situation.The wait times can last awhile, however thats because you can get in same day and even have same day surgery if thats the option you choose. I hope I never need Dr. Henrys services again but if I get another hand injury Dr. Henry is the first doctor I will go to.

I cut my finger with a chainsaw on a Saturday. I called their office on a Sunday morning and was told to be at St Lukes hospital that very day. Dr. Henry operated on my finger a few hours later. I could not ask for a better doctor. My finger is now fully functional.

My son & I both had surgery by Dr. Henry. I broke the upper top of my left pinky and my son broke both the ulna and radius of his left arm. On both occasions, I was certain that Dr. Henry was the expert, and I took his advice for surgery. Needless to say, my finger is not functional post surgery, and we do now question whether my son needed the extensive forearm surgery with multiple permanent plates and screws. I should have gotten a second opinion on both occasions and I encourage others to do so as well! I still think hes as knowledgeable as everyone claims, but business is business and Im not sure surgery is always the best option. I pray that I made the right decision for him.

I had an exceptional experience working with Dr. Henry and his staff. Dr. Henry is very professional and to the point. He only recommends a handful of physical therapist in the Houston area for a reason and now I know why. He expressed to me the importance of the PT, following it to a T, and that I only get one shot at this which I took to heart. I went to Action Physical Therapy for my PT and worked with Jim King. I did exactly what was asked of me by both specialist and I am back to 100% on schedule. They are the specialist for a reason and know what they are doing. If you follow the plan, put in the work which isnt always easy, you wont regret it. What you will regret is knowing you didnt give it your all. If you are stuck at anything less than 100% knowing you could have done better, thats all on you. I am forever thankful for my referral to Dr. Henry and will always recommend him to anyone looking for the best.

I was bit by my dog, and the flexor tendon / tendon sheath in the index finger of my dominant hand became seriously infected. Less than two months later, my finger is just about back to normal, with full range of motion. Dr. Henry is an incredibly skilled surgeon, and my successful outcome would likely not have been achieved had I seen a different surgeon. He is exceptional at educating patients about their options (both surgical and non-surgical), and I felt extremely confident about my treatment plan moving forward after my initial consultation. Getting to where Im at today has also required hard work on my end via occupational therapy, and Dr. Henry works with only the best. If you do exactly as youre told and maintain a positive, can-do attitude throughout, great things can happen! A giant thank you to Dr. Henry for getting me through the past two months! 2021 Spring BreakMy family and I were clearing out our storage unit. As we loaded a heavy black tool box on to our flat bed trailer, my left hand middle finger was pinched that caused my finger tip to be torn off and break my tiny tip bone. We rushed to nearest ER to get initial trauma care, I knew very quickly after they proposed options to amputate my finger tip or break more bones to keep the length of my finger that needed a doctor specialized in trauma hand surgery, ASAP. This injury occurred at 2 pm, the ER doctor hand me off at 6 pm to another ER to meet Dr. Mark Henry, M.D. and the Hand and Wrist Team. Everyone was very informative, attentive and compassionate with every word and action they were performing for my trauma care. My skin flap and reconstruction bone surgery was from 8:30 to 11:30 pm that night. After many weeks of follow care and therapy visits, I am very happy and relieved that i wouldnt have to be in mental health care and on pain medications for the trauma of a proposed amputation with constant pain. My family and I want to say, Thank you for my pink finger tip and nail! to Dr. Mark Henry, M.D. and his wonderful caring team of AWESOME Hand and Wrist Rock Stars!!!

My ninjury was to my right wrist. Surgery was not the preferred method of resolving the issue and PT was indicated. Carpel Tunnel surgery was indicated for partial resolution and was preformed. The outcime was all that could be expected. Dr Henry and his staff were informative and factual. His guidance allowed us to make informed collaborative decisions withnthe end result of returning me to the best outcome. In my case, a 90 % soultion without surgery was the preferred methodology

My experience with Dr. Henry has been absolutely Amazing. I am so lucky to have had him as a surgeon. I suffered a crush amputation of my right index finger tip(Im right handed). Without him, I would not have a finger tip. He performed a surgical flap procedure and reshaped my finger tip, giving me a nice, usable, normal looking finger tip back. I also have full use of my finger! I am forever indebted to him. I couldnt possibly express how much I appreciate everything he has done for me. Not only was his work impeccable, but his bedside manner, his office and his staff were all great. If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation needing surgery, Dr. Henry is THE absolute best!

I pulverized the radial head in my left elbow. The ER referred me to Dr. Henry, and he was able to see me a few hours later. Surgery to remove the bone fragments and insert a new radial head was 6 days later, Therapy began with Jim King 6 days after surgery. I was extremely pleased with Dr. Henry, his staff, and the therapy. Having the surgery and beginning therapy so soon after accident was essential for my recovery. I now have almost complete motion (99.99%) and use of my left elbow. I highly recommend both Dr. Henry and therapist Jim King.

I was directed to Dr Henrys office from a freestanding ER for the high pressure wound I suffered in my hand. I could not be more pleased with his knowledge and his performance with the several procedures I needed to repair my hand. I would not recommend anyone else.

After reading some of the recent reviews here I felt the need to comment on my own recent experience at the Hand and Wrist Center with Dr. Henry. He was extremely knowledgeable on my condition and was able to provide a treatment plan for me that addressed my concerns. This nonsense that he is a rude doctor is completely unfounded. He methodically walked me through my symptoms and carefully uncovered the root problem without any sense of judgement as ultimately my condition was (thankfully) less serious than I thought and would not lead to surgery. Great visit and great doctor. Ill definitely return and would recommend him to anyone and everyone else that has a condition that falls under his specialty.

I am very thankful to Dr. Henry and his team. Initially when i broke my wrist I was terrified that I would never be able to use it and go about my day to day activities. Dr. Henrys office got me in very quickly after referral from an urgent care center for a broken humerus/elbow and torn ligament. I had surgery the next day and began PT within 6 days post-op. the PT was key to success and focused on non-painful muscle, scar tissue, and mobility issues gradually increasing range as I improved over 6 weeks. the soft tissue manipulation/heat therapy/massage prevented excessive scarring and led to a more rapid recovery.

I felt well taken care of while in Dr. Henrys care! He took the time to properly understand my problem, explained the options to solve it, and showed me how to get the best results from my procedure.

I had a fall on Sunday, Oct 4th and was seen by Dr. Henry on Monday, Oct 5th. After the initial consultation I was in surgery that evening. The staff here are excellent, on top of everything and courteous. Dr. Henry explains all stages of recovery and welcomes questions. My healing went very well, I had plenty of progressive therapy to make sure I healed and know how to keep my wrists strong. If you happen to get a hand or wrist injury, this is a great place to come and heal.

This group got me out of a scary infection via a crushed finger from a boulder in my landscape.These folks saw me last minute because I was in pain and didnt want to ride out the weekend. Had a really excellent experience as a patient here. I was advised to see Dr. Mark Henry due do an industrial accident at work. I originally saw a surgeon at another location and my injury became infected. My insurance case nurse suggested that Dr. Mark Henry may be available to look into my injury or I could continue on with the original Dr. that was just using a wait and see approach. I decided to see Dr. Henry. I was able to get in and see him the next day, he observed my injury and immediately suggested surgery due to the infection being in the bone, I agreed to the surgery and he operated on my hand the same day. Dr. Henry performed my surgery for a spiral finger fracture the evening after my injury. Three months later, after follow-up visits and therapy with Jim King at Action Therapy, the injury is healed. Dr. Henrys office is very efficient and professional. Would recommend for any hand issues.

As a public servant, it was imperative I regain as much functionality as possible, after full recovery of a nasty spiral fracture of the left ring finger. I am pleased to report a near 100% range of motion with no adverse affect on job performance. Dr. Henry was amazing from the initial and speedy consult, through surgery and post operative care. I highly recommend Dr. Henry and his staff for any hand and wrist need. I hope I never need their services again, but will not hesitate to call or refer his practice.

Him and his office are very perfeshinal and caring. At every decision making point in my situation, he would give me all the details with all the pros and cons. In my pionion, he is the best hand and wrist doctor in Houston, if not the best in the state. Im very pleased and satisfied with the out come, it was not the out come we wanted at first, but it has turned into the best out come in my case. Dr. Henry first came highly recommended. Now I can back that up with my wrist fracture and how it healed. We went through surgery, I got a plate added and most important, It healed all the way!!! Our daughter, who is an athlete, injured her thumb and needed immediate surgery.. Dr. Henry thoroughly explained the injury, the type of surgery needed and the follow-up therapy that would be required in order for her to have a full recovery and regain the use of her thumb. He met with our daughter at every visit and provided her with personalized attention. Dr. Henry is an amazing doctor who genuinely cares about his patients. He is the best doctor in is his field of medicine. I lacerated my right extensor tendon and could not move my thumb at all. I was referred to Dr. Henry by minor care the day of my injury. I live in a city 1 1/2 hours away. The office was able to coordinate with his staff and hospital to get into surgery that very day. The surgery was a success. I immediately started therapy and 2 months post op, I am pleased to say that I have been discharged.I would recommend Dr. Henry to anyone who experiences hand trauma. His bed side manners are exceptional. He is a doctor who listens to his patients, and offers his expertise, to make the experience worthwhile during care.

I had a severe laceration to my left thumb and severed the flexer tendon. Dr Henry and his staff were outstanding! He did my surgery on a Sunday morning in the midst of the Corona Virus Outbreak. Incident happened Saturday evening and i was literally was laying on ER bed, about to get it sewed up because no elective surgeries were allowed. My wife called his office, he heard what happened, got on the phone and told ER Dr. to stop and he would evaluate and potentially perform surgery the next morning. Was very clear and upfront about all of his expectations and plans for future as far as my hand was concerned. Ten weeks later here we are and thumb is much better than expected. Motion is nearly like nothing ever happened. Great Doctor! Great Staff! Would highly recommend to anyone with a hand emergency.

My experience with Dr. Henry and his team was exemplary. They were very helpful throughout the entire process of helping to get my finger back to normal working function. It was important for me to get as much or the original function of my finger back and the process and documentation provided to me to help through the surgery and rehabilitation was top notch. I would share with any patients the importance of following the suggested guidelines for how to care for your wound to the letter. My experience was the more you follow in instructions the better the outcome in your case. I can say that without following this method I would not have had the successful outcome that I did. I would fully recommend this office and Dr. Henry to anyone who might need his services.

Dr. Henry is tough he is a no nonsense Dr, and does not allow the word I cant in your treatment. He said you Probally wont get back to 100%, Id say Im back to 95% and I am so very grateful. I fell off a ladder and shatter the bones in my wrist the doctor said this is one of the worst breaks possible but youre in good hands Ive invented the technique Im using and its used in several hospitals ( that was very comforting). His staff is great, I was also paired with great therapists. Thank you Dr Henry😀🙅

I first came to Dr. Henry under a workers comp claim from California due to a recent move. Several of my family members have been to him and have been more than excited to tell me about him and his practice. It was not a for sure case that his office would take my claim on, especially from another state. I was recommended and accepted by his office practically the same day!I had very little faith in the offices that I had seen in California and quite frankly had been spinning my wheels there with no REAL help. As soon as I met Dr. Henry I knew i was in good hands!! (pun intended) His office staff is extremely refreshing and easy to assist with my needs. Dr . I saw Dr. Henry for a chainsaw laceration of the first two fingers on my left hand. Dr. Henry did surgery on the same day as my initial visit to repair tendon damage in both fingers. I have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Henry himself and his staff. Dr. Henry was very intentional about explaining the entire process, in great detail, and thoroughly answering all of my questions along the way. Almost three months out from the injury and I have regained very near to full range of motion in both fingers. I cant thank Dr. Henry enough or recommend him highly enough!

I’m a industrial mechanic and I had several things going on with my wrist from a motorcycle accident. The first doctor wanted to do a bone fusion that probably would’ve cause me great pain for the rest of my career. After seeing him he assured me I didn’t need a fusion he did something to this huge calcium deposit that was causing me pain every time it touched something, cleaned up a tendon going to my thumb, and removed a piece of bone that was left in from the first doctor ( I had a plate and 9 screws in my wrist at first). I thought my right hand (and I’m right handed) was ruined for life. It’s been now 4 plus years and I’ve totally forgotten that I’ve ever had anything happen to my wrist. I’m 100% pain free all the time and have been since the surgery. Three sites all operated at once on my wrist and excellent results. I don’t even know how he did it. All I know is that my right wrist is something I haven’t had to worry about in years. Not even in the winter.

Dr. Henry was very thorough in explaining my injury and treatment. We agreed that surgery would be the best option for my goal of returning to an active lifestyle. He performed the surgery himself and I had an excellent outcome. There were multiple follow ups to make sure my recovery was on the right track and he devised a course of ongoing physical therapy exercises to enhance and accelerate my recovery and improve my ergonomics.
