The Dr. is very professional. But the staffs are horrible. I called back and forth straight 3 days just to remind them to put in my blood lab and ultrasound. Showed up at clinic, they didnt put in any lab work. Called them back, and always got transferred to a voicemail 4 times, I left 2 voicemail, but still didnot get any responds.I took off work early and went to clinic, still did not have any lab record. So I went back to the clinic again next day, this time blood lab was in but not the ultrasound. I called back again, I told one of the staff please do not transfer me to the voicemail again, let me talk to someone and she told me, I need to call when shes not busy. So I decided to move on with another doctor after 7 yrs with them. The staffs are not helpful and rude.

Do yourself a favor and find another liver doctor.First visit: My elderly father and I waited more than 2 hours at his crowded office during the initial visit.Totally unacceptable and lack of respect for his patients.Second visit: a video conference:- He was a no show after an hour. Got a quick phone call from him after saying he had a issue with the software. Each visit from him was no more than 3 minutes. It’s obvious he consistently running behind schedule.Office staff: Over worked and impatient. I was told one of the staff that the doctor is busy. I explained to her that’s why we made an appointment with the doctor and not just a walk in.They also “forgot” to schedule our MRI at Methodist. It’s a total failure of an operation.I would not recommend or come back to this place if my life was depending on it.

I visited this office initially n April 19th. I had 2 tests (with significant co-pays) and was advised that I would be called by the doctor within a week with results. well, that didnt happen! I had a follow-up visit on May 6th (Thurs) - where I had to remind the doctor that I never heard from him re: results. Based on results, I was told I needed further testing - which would be scheduled as I checked out. Well, the clerk claimed to be very busy and assured me that she would schedule the procedure and someone would call and give me the date, time, and location. I was given an orange sheet of paper to confirm with the scheduling office if I wasnt called by then. You guessed it, I wasnt called and the scheduling office said no one from the Drs office scheduled anything. The clerk at the scheduling office was exceptional! Numerous calls to the Drs office to follow-up yields nothing but an answering machine - with no returned calls. This, today, it is My 27th, and the test that I reportedly need so badly has yet to be scheduled. I am beyond frustrated with this dismissive staff who seem to have zero regard for patients. So, today, I have reached out to my insurance company to advocate on my behalf - as they obviously are not concerned about me nor my liver issues. The first thing the Aetna rep told me was to be patient - as they sent her straight to voice mail. It may best that I pick another specialist, but I realize that I may end up paying those hefty copays (several hundred) to start this whole process again. As far as I am concerned now, they are the worst! Choose another specialist if you really want care that is consistent and responsive.

Great Dr. Staff/Office/office staff is another matter!I have been seeing the Dr. for almost 20 years. Today was the last time I come to this office. My appointment was scheduled for 10:15 AM at the Pearland office. Last week, when the office called to confirm my appointment, I was told I was the first patient of the day. Today, I waited, waited and finally left the office at 11:45, without seeing the Dr. During my wait, no one came and give me any update. I fully understand, emergencies do happen or the Dr. could have XYZ. However, it was NOT the first time that I had to wait that long and NO one came and gave me updates. Each time, I called and talked to the office manager. Waiting to see any doctor for routine visit for more than an hour and half is unreasonable. I do have to work. If the office does not value my time, I am going to take my business somewhere else.I

Made multiple appointments that never properly got put in the system or noted. Since it is a two hour drive for me I regularly call in before hand to make sure everything is set. Thank goodness I do this because the same woman each time “made” my appointment but never really did. There is another woman who I rarely get on the phone who does amazing and repairs the issue as best as possible seeing as once the mistake was caught my original days would be packed up and no longer available. The same woman has a distinct voice and regularly hangs up on me. Many times Its oh okay hang on and I could hear her playing around then the phone gets slammed down and we get disconnected. This is a big issue as I have been trying for test results and appointments and cant do anything without getting hung up on 100000 times before I luckily get the nicer woman. I have requested documents for an upcoming appointment elsewhere. They were supposed to be here long ago and havent arrived. I dread having to call again and deal with hundreds of “dropped calls” if this is a mistake then I highly recommend a new form of training for staff. I wanted to reach out to leave a voicemail as I dont have time to call tomorrow during open hours but have figured out that leaving voicemail isnt an option.

Had the very great pleasure of meeting this doctor years, was later referred to someone else due to health insurance issues. However found him to be very knowledgeable, kind, inconsiderate u0026 to the point. He and his was then and know have always had the Uttermost respect and customer service with their patients and patients needs and concerns.Want to thank the entire phone service line/ those who verify insurance , schedule appointments, screenings etc. Huge shout out to Samantha for all her help today and over the top patients she had with me today....thanks again to everyone on the Dr. Ankoma-Sey Team !😊Sincerely, Shanoe Stafford

I didnt feel like Dr. Ankoma-Sey acknowledged and cared for my situation. Very brief discussion--maybe not even 5 minutes--before I felt like he wanted to leave and see other patients.

Beware of improper diagnosis requiring a surgical procedure that is not warranted . I was told I needed a biopsy of my liver. He kept pressing me. He also told me that I needed this biopsy soon before I would need a liver transplant. This scare tactic is unprofessional and should never be used on a patient . GET a SECOND OPINION. Second opinion started that there is no reason for a biopsy when my numbers were minimal.

Receptionist is rude. Today 4/18/2018, at 14:00, a woman hang up my phone when I ask her “Can you repeat please”. If she is not enough polite, patience, quit out of her job, choose the job doesn’t need her “gold voice” , ok? Ps: I keep going to call to make appointment but she have never picked up. Poor doctors, who paid for her

The doctors are great... the team and the MDs, i have no qualms with them. They are treating their patients with respect. On the other hand...i have a lot of bad things to say about the RECEPTIONIST. She is rude and impolite. whatever your name is... you bring the good name of the doctors who are paying you to do your job. AND YOU ARE NOT DOING YOUR JOB PROPERLY. if you are tired of you are doing then I suggest you quit, and give your position to somebody who is more deserving than you. I CAN FEEL FROM THE WAY YOU TALK THAT YOU ARE TIRED SO PLS DO YOURSELF A FAVOR.

Inefficient office, lots of miscommunication, and so much wasted time.Youll wait about an hour for a minute of the drs time and pray your insurance coveres that little bit -.- and on top of that, I had to remind him who I was, what was happening, and what he had told me the last visit. What? -.- please respect your patients and our time. No, we didnt go to med school for years, but we also have jobs, families, and other responsibilities to attend to.

My ultra sound result diagnosis read: Coarsened echotexture mildly contoured nodule, consistent with Cirrhosis.I worried for days that I had Cirrhosis. The NP Scott Zela tells me. Radiology sees so many people with Cirrhosis that they put that diagnosis on everyones diagnosis???? It cost me $70 to come in and be told that Radiology falsified my diagnosis and I was worried to death.??? In the beginning they did all these tests and falsified my diagnosis ( NP Zela said) so that my insurance company would pay for all the tests. Stop playing with peoples Health and lives. Those falsifications are out and out FRAUD!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! I have proof on my ultra sound diagnoses!!! FRAUD! Why say I have Cirrhosis when I dont??? Very unprofessional.
