My dog attends regular doggy daycare sessions. Harley loves it. The staff is attentive , reliable and very loving towards her. I highly recommend their services. A wonderful staff!!

Weve boarded our 2 Great Danes here 4 times and theyve received excellent care.There are closer facilities to us, but we choose to come to Prestonwood Kennels. They are organized, caring, clean and our girls get to be in a indoor/outdoor cage together.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG HERE! My friend boarded their dog here while going on a business trip. They received a call the next day saying the dog got out and couldnt be found. Later, the dog was found dead in a ditch after being hit by a car. The kennel is negligent, didn’t close a cage properly and allowed a dog to walk right out the front door. They originally claimed the fence was being repaired and he got out that way, but surveillance footage showed he walked through the lobby and out the front door undetected. This kennel shouldnt even be allowed to board dogs! Use a pet sitter instead!

The negligence of the staff cost a dog its life. Completely unacceptable response from the owner. This kennel is horrible. Dont bring your pets here.R.I.P Blue

I was nervous putting my two pups into a kennel having a not so great experience in the past. I have driven past Prestonwood kennels a few times and thought I really should check this place out. When the time came we needed to board the pups I finally went to check them out. First thing I noticed walking in to my left there was a window wall that looked into a room with chairs and couches with relaxing canines hanging out. I was then greeted by a friendly staff member. I asked about thier facility, prices etc and they immediately asked If I wanted a tour! That right there put my mind at ease, knowing they had nothing to hide and are confident in there facility. I took the tour and all the pups seems to be happy and relaxed. I choose the executive suite for my two pups which was in a separate section. The room was comfortable for my two shebas, had a sliding glass door instead of wire and they had full access to thier own little yard during hours of operation. When I picked up the pups they were happy, not stressed. I took them back again for a groom and they werent nervous to be there which was nice to see and proved to me it was a place they associate positive thoughts and memories.

Weve left our fur baby there a few times and have always had a great experience. There are so many options to choose from... grooming, nature walks, pool time, socialization etc and Rhea has always come back healthy and happy!

I have been bringing my animals to the facility to get all washed up and clean for the past year and a half, but I will not do it anymore!! I caught the manager speaking very rudely to a few employees as if she was trying to embarrass them! She is verbally abusive to them, and she will never get my money or animals again!!! If she treats her employees that way, just imagine how she treats the animals when she has to help out! Very unacceptable.

I called to schedule boarding for a dog I am currently fostering (no daycare, just daytime boarding). The lady who answered the phone was very rude and had an attitude. Her concern was the dog came from the shelter and could have virals (I believe thats the word she used). The dog has been with the rescue for about a month, up to date on all vaccinations/shots. I assured her of this (and would provide paperwork). Then she asked what breed - I replied pit and she goes I dont want him...I replied why and she said I just dont -- proceeded to ask male or female, dog aggression, etc. I reiterated that it was just a daytime boarding, no daycare and she still said no. OHH and she works with a rescue....but wants to discriminate on pit bulls?? At first it was her concern of him being from the shelter, but once I made it clear hes been out of the shelter it was because he was a pit bull. No thank you, I will take my business somewhere else.

I have trusted Prestonwood Kennels for over 10 years with my fur babies. Wouldn’t trust anyone else with them and they love the attention they get there.

Been a customer for boarding and grooming for 5 years. Very pleased always!

My dogs were there for over seven hours and were not groomed. When I inquired about their pick up time they said it would still be an additional hour and a half before they were groomed. Very poor customer service. To have them both groom would be close to $200 you would think that this would get you better customer service but apparently not at this place. I do not recommend this place!! save your time and your money

Amazing Rude leadership from the owner hanging up the phone when family calls to contact a family member that works there, Very immature and unprofessional. Just think, us customers rely on them for the safety of our animals, good luck with that.

My dog recently passed away. I trusted the people at Prestonwood to care for my dog fo 10 years. The staff proved to excellent. They cared for Buddy as though he belong to them. Each time I took him he would get very excited when we got close to the kennel. I recommend this kennel without reservation.

Beautiful place full of happy dogs

Our two dogs stayed with prestonwood kennels for two weeks starting the first part of June. They were very well cared for and in good health upon our return. In addition to boarding, one of our dogs, Daisy our pit mix rescue, did the board and train program. Terry was wonderful with her and corrected the leash pulling, dog aggression, and jumping issues we were struggling with. Thanks to Terry, stubborn Daisy listens and is a pleasure to walk now. We highly recommend Prestonwood kennels for boarding and training.

Great people. They are really concerned with your pet. Have an older dog and they took special care to make sure he was comfortable even helping me load in SUV.

I prefer to come here for dog grooming. But do call in advance by at least 3 to 4 days. They are very popular and book quickly. We had our dogs stay in the hotel suite about 2 years ago and seemed very happy and well taken care of. If you have the funds, spring for the private rooms with the doggy door access

The grooming and facilities are nice but after 10+ years of taking several of my dogs there I dont think I will be returning any time soon. The older woman (the owner) interrogated me as soon as I walk through the door to drop my dogs off for a weekend. Made me feel very uncomfortable about leaving my pets. Made the other customers and employees feel very uncomfortable as she man-handled my dogs and made the initial entrance much more stressful than it needed to be for everyone. In addition she insulted her staff as well as two people who had asked for some simple training tips.

Horrible service from the owner, she was unwilling to answer simple questions. Total attitude.

This is a wonderful boarding facility and pet resort. The facilities are spotlessly clean and fresh. It’s a happy place. The staff are friendly and it’s obvious that they love the animals. Highly recommended.

This place is absolutely amazing. If you want your beloved dog to be pampered and taken care of BETTER THAN AT HOME (i know what im saying) then this is the place you want to come. Its literally an outstanding, professional, convenient, helpful, loving, and honest place to trust with your little or big four legged family member.

I completely trust Prestonwood Kennels to groom my three poodles and day care. I drive 45 minutes from Memorial area to go there. I often do my shopping and errands in the area while they are being groomed. They always work with my schedule to get all of my dogs groomed and ready while I run my errands so I dont have to drive all the way home and then back again across town.

Beautiful and clean facility. Great customer service and knowledgeable, caring staff. We had no qualms about leaving our Dane girls there. And the cost was fair.

Its hard finding a kennel that you and your dogs are comfortable with. After a tour of the facility I knew this was the place. First thing I notice is how clean the place was, from the kennels, common areas and the runs. This place is top notch. Friendly staff. Best thing is that my boys loved it!

I highly recommend that you dont risk your dog to their so called Social Club (doggie day care). Our dog was attacked, and they did not call and them covered up the true story of what happened. They do not vet (for temperament) all dogs the same, they let in know Alpha dogs like Blue large German Shepherd that must be restrained every time our dog (Lab) and other go into what I would call the MMA octagon of danger. I also highly recommend that you do not risk yourself to the owner’s bipolar drunken style. She is plain crazy. And lastly, the tall lady of the front desk has a horrible way in dealing with customers. The two of them are just very uncivil people. Move on to another kennel / day care as there are many around the area. Dont risk your dog or yourself by going to Prestonwood Kennels.

Over the last few years, Prestonwood has boarded all the dogs in my family and they always treat our furry friends well. They provide a written daily report of what the dogs were up to. We always spring for daily one on one time for scratches/belly rubs/etc., and love getting the little reports of the dogs giving kisses and being sweet to the staff!As much as we hate leaving our dogs behind occasionally, the folks at Prestonwood take great care of them, and they always come back to us happy and healthy.The Prestonwood owner also runs Poodle Rescue of Houston right next door, they do great things with the doggies there!

We just picked our lab up for her Christmas visit. It was our first time at this kennel. She was happy and with their reasonable rates so was I. We signed her up for additional group play time in addition to the boarding. We were surprised at the bill as we asked for full day playtime. They explained she was very tired and they did not want to charge for full day if she didnt play for a full day. Great, honest people. She will be back.

The lady at the front desk is extremely rude. I believe her name is Linda. Not only was she rude to me while I was checking my dog in, she was rude to a younger staff member right in front of me! Absolutely appalling behavior.

I used to love Prestonwood Kennels. My dog has been visiting social club for almost two years. In the beginning, I knew my pup was having fun. Now, I question how he is being treated. I have personally witnessed the owner being verbally abusive to her employees. I have personally witnessed her being rude to vendors on the phone. I frequented this place very often, that the employees would tell me stories about how horrible the owner was. My dog always seemed to enjoy social club so I didn’t really question the work ethics of the owner... until now. All of the team that was first there are gone. New hires come in all the time and quit. My dog sometimes went with his lunch and would come back without a kibble taken out. He caught kennel cough during the first weeks of December from social club. He does have his Bordetella shot so the vet said he was still able to catch it due to being around dogs that are not protected. Today I witnessed the new workers spraying the dogs with water because they were howling. I might be protective over my pup, but I have had it and will never take Charlie here again.

So I started taking my dog there about a month ago for social club and once to board in preparation for a trip out of town. He is a 100 lb great pyrenees/ lab mix, so I wanted to make sure he was comfortable and had plenty of room and interaction. He enjoys being there and playing with other dogs. I also feel they take good care of him and give him attention. The staff is great and I have not had any issues. I also like that they have different types of kennels and services. I have already recommended them to several friends.

I board my digs here and use the grooming service. They always do a great job taking care of them.The groomer is able to groom my skittish Golden Doodle and even make it where Bella is not terrified.

The staff sent home two kittens with two children, saying take them, theyre free! The kittens were dumped off at my house by the children after the other parents said no.A friend and I returned the kittens the following morning, and asked to speak with Lynda, the manager, to express our displeasure with the resort handing out free kittens to children.The rest of the staff was cooperative, shocked, and apologetic, but the manager refused to take the blame, insisting that it was the rescue groups fault because Lynda only manages the resort and not the rescue group. She then turned the blame to her employees, and refused to take any part of the blame since she herself had not been present. I did inform Lynda that as a manager, you are responsible for your employees as well.Upon further questioning, Lynda stated that the rescue group owner was also the owner of the Prestonwood Kennels. She stated that the kittens were the rescue groups problem and not her own responsibility.Lynda interrupted to ask how old the children were. When I stated 15, Lynda smirked and said oh. WELL then in a dismissive manner. Look, lady. It doesnt matter if the children are 5 or 15. You do not give animals in your care to children, nor to perfect strangers without vetting the foster/adopters with the proper paperwork.Lynda admitted that the kittens were looking for foster homes, and there were two other kittens when shed left work yesterday but didnt know where the remaining two kittens were. One can only surmise that the other two kittens were given away free.Lyndas attitude was sorely missing the managerial touch. She kept interrupting our complaints to answer the phone or handle other customers that arrived after us. She refused to accept any blame and kept insisting she didnt know what happened so it wasnt her fault.I understand the mistakes of an hourly employee; however Lyndas attitude toward the situation was off-putting and her nonchalance about the situation was scary. If she cares so little about the fate of kittens, I cant imagine entrusting the care of my animals with this resort.Side note: there are two other kittens that are out there that were also given away last night to other people, and I pray that they have found their way into loving homes.

Large facility and friendly people. I havent had the experience that some of the other reviewers seem to have had. The owner was very friendly when we met with her and toured the facility. They have several options, like mini-rooms, for your pet. If you are in the area, I suggest giving them a try!

I first took my Mastiff here in May when my husband and I were out of town for our anniversary. I was referred by a neighbor who spoke highly of the staff and facility. I toured prior to taking my dog, staff was well educated on the services offered and made me feel very comfortable especially that we were having our dog boarded for the first time. Prices are reasonable and our Mastiff will be staying at Prestonwood Kennel Resort again.

Never been to the facility. But I was on the phone with the owner and I was excited to tell her I was adopting a dog , and so I asked about the prices. Her response was dont you dare bring a sick dog to my place, and dont you dare lie to me either. The owner sounds like she has some major issues. MAJOR disappointment I was looking forward to doing business with the company. I REFUSE to do any business with someone who is unprofessional and just plain stupid. I think they need to get a new owner who is nice and professional.

My dogs Bear and Gigi got picked up today and the had a great time and this only their second time!There was a lady at the front desk that sent me pictures of Bear and Gigi, I though that was nice. Overall I really Recommend it!

Always great service, and have kept both my cats and dog and they are always well taken care of. I groom my dog there and they may cost a little bit more but they do a great job!

The owner is really good at putting on a fake smile, but theres a reason she has so many 1 star reviews on here. She is a lunatic. The amount of verbal and emotional abuse I was put through working here is ridiculous. Also the owner was almost always NEVER sober. She has zero regard for other people.

This was our first experience with Prestonwood kennels and will be our last. We left our dog for 10 days while driving from Texas to New York and back for Christmas. She was a very healthy weight when we dropped her off with plenty of food. When we picked her up her food we left was gone and the staff was unsure when she ran out but it must of been the day we picked her up because nobody mentioned her food was gone is the explanation we were given. We didn’t receive one phone call about her being out of food to have someone drop food off for her. My dog was skin and bone when we picked her up and had no energy.. Unacceptable.

Not so sure about the Overall 0 rating by several ratings, but they appear to be from one disgruntled person or two or perhaps a bad employee who got let go. Nevertheless, in my humble opinion are very unreasonable and unfair. Enough said.Now for my rating, I have been using Prestonwood since I came to Houston in 2006 and though not perfect, they are better than most and are the only place that I will leave my Bassets one of whom is a service dog. My kiddos are always sad to leave the Prestonwood when I pick them up. That alone is enough to keep me coming back. Most of the employees are very dedicated and love animals and it show when I sometimes call the place from South America and they instantly know my dogs.The bottom line is that they have a loyal following of many clients and I am one of them. Being an engineer I am hard to please and if any of the criticisms levied against them by others were true, I would find another place right away. That being said, we are leaving our beloved hounds again for a week while travel two weeks from now.

Good kennel...I checked around, and found this one which my dog seemed to like after a 2 day stay.

We bring our dogs here during long vacations or just for a day of social club - the dogs get so excited when they find out they are going! All the folks here have been super friendly, and they take good care of our little girls.

Worst kennel ever. 2 dogs, 2 days, almost $450. My Border Collie was very dehydrated at the time of pick up, and both dogs were returned extremely constipated. Never use Prestonwood Kennel EVER again!!!

We will never board our dogs here again. When we got them back they were in terrible condition: overheated, stinking, panting excessively. They were supposedly in indoor only kennels. It didnt seem like their kennel had been cleaned and they stunk of urine. They were both sick and required vet visits. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I agree w/ Melissa smith. if their was any way to rate this a 0 I would. I was a past employee with them. Word can not explain how much VERBAL ABUSE the employees take, from the OWNER!! . Guinette has yelled, cursed, and throw things around for any small mistakes. Dont worry your pets are in better hands than the employees. its a shame to let someone humiliate you and verbally abuse you infront of anyone. A WARNING TO THOSE PLANNING TO USE KENNEL AND BOARDING SERVICES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON! I urge you NOT to use PRESTONWOOD KENNELS of Houston Texas! Our 2 year old pit bull, Rambo, went into their establishment weighing 80lbs and walking. When my husband and I picked him up 9 days later he was having difficulty moving his back legs and stayed in a hunched position. The next day at the vet, he weighed in at only 70lbs and his entire equilibrium was off and he had no balance. The vet had X-rays and blood drawn, but no clue what happened. By the next morning he was paralyzed and could not walk or stand. We rushed him to the ER Vet where they determined it was due to trauma of the neck and he was suffering from a possible ruptured disk/pinched nerve. 2 days after being on numerous medications, Rambo stood up. Two weeks later he is finally walking on his own, with supervision. Not only have we had to deal with the stress of wondering weather or not Rambo will be ok, there was $945 in boarding and $1700 in vet bills and we arent even finished. We are hoping that the progress is permanent and that the disk wasnt the issue, but the pinched nerve along his vertebra. The manager at PRESTONWOOD KENNELS refuses to take ANY responsibility for this. They have been avoiding my phone calls and have been completely rude and unprofessional. Not only are they refusing to pay or partially pay for these vet visits, they refused to refund the boarding fee. The manager stated that there was no negligence on their part, even though she could NOT produce an explanation as to why the bag of food that was provided was still so full. If any other PRESTONWOOD patrons have had similar issues w the lack of care provided please contact me. I would hate to see anyone else go through this.

This was my fist experience with a kennel, and it will definitely be my last.Left my blue heeler 5 month old puppy there for 2 days with his food and treats individually bagged with instructions. When I picked him up, he had half of the bag of food left. If the staff would have followed the written instructions - should have been none left to take home. When I went to pick him up he no food in his kennel. I asked why there was food left in his bag and they told me that they dont refill the bowl unless its empty. Hmmmmm........it was empty when I picked him up.Next, 2 days after we picked him up from the kennel - we had to take him to the vet (and emergency vet) for an intestinal parisite he recieved from contaiminated water and he also was diagnosed with kennel cough.The front desk staff there is rude (Linda is at the top of that chart). The only positive feedback I have is that a guy named by Cole was the only one that seemed to care when I called and gave them all of this info about our vet visits, and tried to make it right.Overall, It was horrible and will never board my dog again.

NEVER AGAIN...We boarded our 2 Siberian Huskies here for 3 nights, NEVER again! My white husky has 3 wounds one on his hip, ear and leg! Do not trust them w/ your dogs! The owner agreed to reimburse my vet and antibiotic bill...too ticked off to write more

Please do not take your dog here unless they are on a flea preventative. I dropped my dog off during the thanksgiving weekend and pick him up that Monday and he was full of fleas. They wouldn’t even give me my money back after I spend 80 dollars on flea treatment. I hate this place and will never go back
