I moved back to Houston at the beginning of the year and unfortunately needed a new doctor since I lived in San Antonio prior. Decided to try Summerwood Family Clinic as my mom recommended and it was down the street from my house. My first visit was okay aside from the fact that the girl in the front had trouble checking me in, insisting my insurance has my paperwork wrong (I’ve been with the same insurance for years and was a new patient here ? But okay lol) once I corrected her and told her my actual birthday and realized they had my month, day and year wrong, I finally got to see the doctor. It went fine and normal. Had a lot of trouble picking up my prescription as the pharmacy informed me all my paperwork was showing incorrect (my address, phone number, birthday) they only had my name right! Made several calls to get it resolved and the girls at the front just didn’t seem to understand how to fix the issue??? I finally printed, filled out brand new paperwork, and faxed it over- as nobody in the office knew where the original paperwork I filled out had gone. (Weeks later) after being asked if I was SURE I was a patient there… ridiculous. 3 months later I was having trouble getting my prescription refilled and when I called I was informed I will be getting no refills until I get checked again. I’m on medication for anxiety, I’m fine to say that and I do use medication to function as all my other doctors have recommended. I asked if they could make an exception for at least one more month as I had started a job in Houston finally and I had no sick time accrued and the girl at the front sounded pretty annoyed I asked in the first place.. sorry? I got a call back later and the same girl told me the doctor will make an exception this one time but recommended I find a new doctor that “fits my schedule.” So I’ll go ahead and just do that. It’s pretty clear they don’t actually care about me as a patient. This place is not professional at all. Stay away

Hes very knowledgeable and very kind. I moved to Conroe so its about 40mins drive. But I still keep him as my doctor 😷

Ill admit I was a bit nervous scheduling an appointment here because of their overall rating, but I am so glad I did. They took care of me right away and were professional and accommodating. Dr. Castillo was great and I didnt feel like they rushed the process at all. I will continue to use them in the future.

Came to get a check and be referred to a dermatologist no information was sent back to my primary provider. Been waiting for a while so decided to call The VA has not information that I even went to this clinic.

I hate that they stay SO busy and that they are only open for a half-day on Fridays...but theyre not pushy about vaccines and BOTH Dr. Gregg and Dr. Brian have been wonderful with us and our kids! You just have to learn to plan ahead and realize that you cant book visits last-minute and exoect to get in.

Use this clinic for my whole family. They are professional caring and very knowledgeable. Dr. Castillo always diagnoses all of our issues quickly and accurately.

Dr. Gregg Castillo is the best! He gives answers to every question you have and you can tell that he is actually trying to give you a right diagnosis. He gives great advices too.. The reason I gave a 3 is because of the staff! We were told that they will accept 10-15minutes late but when we got to the front, we were told only 10 minutes. When we finally got inside, the lady who took my mom’s blood pressure was HORRIBLE. She did not know what she was doing. She took my mom’s blood pressure twice and while taking it, she looked like she didn’t know what to do. My mom had to asked her what her blood pressure because that lady didn’t tell her. She told my mom 113 over something which was IMPOSSIBLE! When the Dr. Gregg Castillo retook her blood pressure it was 150 over something. The lady was way off! And on top of that, she was RUDE.

Today was my first time going here and i met with Dr. castillo, He was super nice and listened very well.! I would recommend!

Dr B. Castillo is literally the best doctor I have ever had. He actually takes the time to get to know you and listen. You can really tell he really cares for his patients and he is uber smart. The office staff and nurses are all very nice as well. I have never had a bad interaction in my two years of going there.

I have been going to see Dr. Castillo (Brian) ever since moving to Houston in 2013. I have had nothing but POSITIVE experiences. He is very professional, polite, and knowledgeable. Same goes for the staff.

Never can scheduled an appointment when sick because he never has openings. I was also terminated because of my balance of $30.

Ive been an patient at this clinic for several years and its been great up until this point. The staff is really rude and when your having a conversation with them, you can hardly get your point across because their constantly talking. It doesnt get any better when you talk to management. They care more about you keeping your appointments than taking care of the patients needs. They only care about co-pays and billing your insurance. Well you wont get this co-pay anymore.

Best doctor I have had. Great friendly service from all the staff. I send as many people I can to them and No one ever regrets it.

My husband just left this office about an hour ago and I just have to say that we will never return. My husband had poked his eye on a plant while doing yard work. He has been complaining about it for several days so we decided to visit this clinic since its close to our home. My husband was never told that this doctor does not have light or drops to view his eye beforehand. The doctor goes in and had my husband follow his finger and that it. Than precedes to tell him that he does not have the equipment to look at his eye. They had no problem taking our money and charging my insurance company for the visit though.

I had a visit here on 8/7/15. The date of this review is 9/1/16. I got a debt collector calling me today about a visit from over a year ago. I took care of all this 6 months ago and now Im having issues again. I would recommend any third world county ER room over this place. They put the C-collar on wrong and the doctor was worthless. I would rather die before I go back here.

Staff is extremely rude in person and on the phone. The minute they answer you are treated like an inconvenience. This is really a shame, because Dr. Castillo is an extremely kind Dr.

My whole family signed with Dr Cesario but since i was the last one to sign up, they signed me up with with his brother Dr Brian. Even after multiple requests to have the same doctor for the whole family they refused to sign me up with Dr Cesario. I accepted it. Recently I had some stomach issues with pain and I called the doctors office to see if they can take me in the same day but the staff was so rude they didn’t even suggest if you think the pain is too much go to the ER. simply said “No we can’t take you in today” I have had other doctors out of state before moving to Houston. Most of them were very accommodating and would squeeze you in the same day for issues like that. Horrible experience. totally unreliable. They absolutely do not care. My whole family will be going elsewhere.

Dr. Cesario Castillo is great, but their office staffing is Not. When you call them they sound annoyed that you called. You request some information and they never get back to you.

Great Doctor... but terrible office management. They are (but soon to be were) my PCP...I can never get an appointment, and have just been going to urgent care facilities.I was at ER over the weekend tried to make a follow-up appt with doctor and was told they cant see me until beginning of April (week from today).Needless to say I found a new PCP I will be seeing instead today.Theres no reason for a business like this to operate in this way.

The doctor is friendly but doesnt give you strong enough dosage so you have to come back... The staff is terrible and very rude I waited over two week for a referral and they still hadnt called me back so I called them and they told me I had to come in again for the same issue I was trying to take care of two weeks ago and pay another co pay... Plus majority of them dont seem to understand English....

I love my doctor hes always their for me and treats me like total family every time I come in. If I ever change insurance and they do not cover it I am still going to come to them.

Receptionist is terrible. Doesnt seem like she wants to be there and hurries to get rid of you. Dr. Brian Castillo is okay but you dont get the friendliest feeling from him either. Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

Called to ask if the accept my insurance, the receptionist sounded so annoyed and bothered. She said that I have to call my insurance to see if my insurance will work with them. Stupid. Not getting my business.
