I am writing this review 1 year after having met Dr. Young. I needed time to reflect and soak in all of the hard work we both put into our meetings.Year 32 was the most introspective for me. Dr Young is the best life coach! I have been to several therapist and family counselors to try and figure out how to work on my relationship. I knew it was toxic relationship for both of us, but I didn’t have the strength to leave. We have a child and I tried so hard to make things work. My now ex-wife and I went to Dr Young for professional counseling as a last effort to save our marriage. During our initial meeting with Dr Young he boast and bragged about the famous people hed counseled, the TV shows he appeared on, and the awards hed received. I thought all of these were great accomplishments, but it really didnt mean much to me. The only thing I cared about was whether he could help us save our marriage. Dr Young proceeded explained to us that he sells his sessions in a bulk package deal. I cant remember the exact cost but it wasnt cheap. We decided to go ahead and pay for the sessions so that we could begin the road to saving our marriage. After a couple of meetings together Dr. Young requested to see us separately. During my first session alone with Dr. Young, he sat in a chair facing me with his laptop in his lap. He was constantly on his laptop during the entire session. This didnt bother me because I assumed he was taking taking notes so he could reference back during future sessions. As he was concluding our session, I noticed through the reflection of his desktop computer that he was not taking notes. As a matter of fact he was actually on social media the whole time. I was in shock. When I get this upset about something I always try to think it over for awhile before reacting. This is the reason I said nothing while I at his office. I am sure he would not have done something so disrespectful had I been one of those famous people that he loves to brag about. Needless to say that was my last session with Dr Young. At first I felt like Id wasted a lot of money. The money wasnt wasted, it felt like it was stolen from because of his no refund policy. Ive finally decided to write this review in hopes to make others aware so that they wont have to go through the same thing.

Me and my wife are relatively early in our marriage (3 years). We both are type A personalities and just could not figure out a way to listen to one another once we started to argue. Our arguments were caustic. It was all becoming too much to deal with and we needed some help to get us beyond ourselves. Thats where Dr. Young came in. Dr Young is analytical yet down to earth in his approach. He wont bend the truth and will tell you just the way it is, which i like. His approach is structured which both me and my wife needed. This was a lot different then a lot of the other counselors that we called who did not really have a set method and often replied with it depends when asked what the next 6-8 weeks looked liked for me and my wife. Dr Young helped to educate us so we could see ourselves and better understand each of our personality traits and the when, where, what, whys behind each of our traits. We walked through how each of us deal with conflict and really got a better understanding of how we kept having a miss as it relates to our communication. If you are looking to make a change, if you dont have thin skin and need someone to provide the tools and resources to correct course in your relationship or in your life, then I would recommend that you pick up the phone and give Dr. Ivan Young a call. Dont let his high level of confidence push you away. I thought he was a little cocky when i called too. He told me to call around and that Id end up giving him a call back. Hell, the man was right!
