Nina as always is so great she is a ray of sunshine. I hope you choose to come here because people like her deserve to be rewarded for being good for goodness sake. She asked and reviewed how my mother wanted her hair cut and the length and entertained my mothers questioning about her personal life and how embarrassing it was to me but she smiled and laughed and she is a great girl.

Called for my first visit at this place , made appointment for the next day with Daniel to cut my hair. Arrived the day of 15 minutes early and when it was my time I was told to wait additional 30 minutes.No respect for clients time as we have other things to attend. What is the purpose of appointment of modern day salon won’t perform?!

The +2 stars is only for their ambitiousness in over scheduling clients. I didn’t factor in the waiting period that would take place after my scheduled time, so I had to leave.

I am very very disappointed in this place I used to love coming here but I noticed every time I come in, the waiting time takes longer and longer. This place does not respect your time, why make an appointment at a certain time if they’re going to take an hour long or more to finally work on your hair it’s ridiculous. Never coming here again!

Very friendly they do great work

I went in for a simple color and cut, I went in with my hair at my shoulders and not much was needed to be cut off and I colored from light brown to dark brown and they charged me 100$ for just that! Daniel got dye all over my forehead and burnt me several time with the darn blow dryer! It’s a good salon but not all the stylists are good! Also very very overpriced!

Absolutely satisfied and HAPPY client! I had been very disappointed with my previous hair colors and was extremely sad that I couldnt find a style and color that would make me love my hair. Nina was my stylist and she was extremely patient with me (bless you Nina, my God am I picky lol) she talked to me and explained everything I needed to know from colors, styles, dos and donts, hair products I mean you name it. After finally deciding what was best for my hair and getting the final result I can honestly say I found my new hair home!!! Definitely will recommend these ladies to everyone I know. I should have read the reviews. They dont know what balayage means. Every style is a highlight job to them. One thing is for sure, if u want to waste your money on something you hate, get your color by Daniel. His co-workers were literally telling him what to do step by step. He probably isnt even certified. I hate admitting being taken for a ride but if itll save someone some grief...

This place is amazing! The time there is long however very well worth your time. Your hair will be done with EXCELLENCE AND KINDNESS! The place is very comfortable while you wait. I can and have dealt with socially awkward stylists more than once. But when your stylist makes you feel so bad about yourself that you would rather jump out of your seat in the first 15 than stay it’s a whole new level. I’m not here to teach anyone customer service skills and I’m done paying to feel bad about myself. I just wish the customer service matched the quality of service because if so I would happily continue going here forever. Luckily, there’s millions of stylists out there who won’t triple book appointments and then make you feel rushed out the door with her and an assistant doing a double dry on your hair all whilst speaking in another language and giggling above your head. Wish I could’ve stuck with this place because the color is fabulous and if customer service isn’t a deal breaker then book here.

I visited this salon in December. I got color and highlights done by Jennifer she did an awesome job. I’ve been wanting to go back to get my hair done again but she no longer work there so when I called I asked can they still do the same color that was done before, the receptionist says yes they can work on your color and highlights .When I went today the hairstylist Lynn was telling me it’s gonna look good when I’m done and I I believed her , but when she was done I was very disappointed, she keep trying to confuse me with colors . I felt that she didn’t want to do the same work that was done by Jennifer.I was in tears my hair look terrible 4 deferent colors .My roots were black and half my hair highlights yellow orange and blonde. I thought I was going to place with professional hairstylist and she didn’t know what she was doing to my hair I think she was upset because I was trying to tell her can she do the same Color that was done in the past. Bad experience I will never go back again .

I have been there once. I had to wait a while, but quite enjoyed myself. All the hairstylists work together in harmony. There is a lot of activity going on, but it never got overly loud like at other salons Ive been to. When the owner showed up (which is who I scheduled with), there were 3 other customers ahead of me. It took maybe 20 minutes before he was working on cutting my hair! I couldnt believe it. Even though you might have multiple stylists working on coloring your hair, there is only the person you wanted to cut your hair. I will be returning tonight and cant wait to see what they do to my hair this time. Oh! And they did my son and daughters hair and they have never had a hair cut done so well before!

Been going to Hannah over 7 years I love this salon and I love her the quality of work is great every time I go she does something different theres always a unique technique and look. always super happy when I leave Ill never go anywhere else!!!

I have been coming to this salon for about 5 years now. I had the absolute worst experience yesterday and that was the final straw for me. I booked an appointment for 10:30am to touch up my highlights and get a trim. When I arrived my hair stylist that again I made an appointment with was highlighting someone else hair. I was not late, I arrived 5 minutes prior to my appointment. The receptionist gave me the excuse that she took a walk in. So I guess the people who make appointments do not matter. My hair stylist did not start on my hair until 11:15am. I was patient because I needed to get my hair done and I had taken a half day from work. I was at the Salon from 10:25am until 2:30pm. It is ridiculous that it took 4 hours to do my hair when it usually only takes 2. If a customer makes an appointment you should honor it. At no point was I offered anything to drink. The owner did not even come by to apologize for the delay. I really love they way my hair stylist does my hair but after my experience yesterday I will not be returning. If you need to get your hair done and have all day to waste this is the place to come.

Great customer service! I went in last week and got an ombre look on my hair. A couple days later the color wasnt looking exactly how I wanted it once I straightened my hair. I contacted them and they were open to fixing it how I wanted it. Super happy with my hair now. Definitely would recommend!

You wouldnt have to wait 5 hours if you have an appointment. They take their time to do it right. I wont let anyone else touch my hair for the last 4 years. They helped transforming my hair many times the safe way. Thanks!

I dont know why I continue to come here. Every time I leave here Im unhappy with the results. I spend over $200, for something Im not satisfied with. When you bring your concerns up, the stylists tell you to give it some time for the colors to wash out and change. The color specialists are not good. They train new girls on your hair, at your expense. Would not recommend.

I had a terrible color here many years ago. I still dont trust them for color but I got a great cut from Nina. Only bad part was the owner was not wearing her mask. I asked her why she wasnt wearing it and she sheepishly said she had a hard time breathing. I let her know that was not acceptable and she put it on. Aside from that I will go back and support this business. The majority of the staff work hard at maintaining safety standards and try to do a good job at cuts. I do have a friend that has gotten good color jobs there.

Ive been a customer 5-6 years, but not any more.I made appoinment for Tammy and was told Jennifer was be my person....Tammy was overbooked and hadnt had lunch (not sure why they would overbook). I am guessing Jennifer had a slot and receptionist knew she would just put me with her, since that was what was best for them. Jennifer cut and colored my hair. Cut was not like a picture which showed several angles, but turned out okay. The highlights were to be a platinum silver but I ended up with blue/gray highlights, My family and I have gotten some good laughs about this color; cant wait until my friends see my blue highlights; I know where to send them! Hopefully, they will fade. JennInfer claimed they would since she knew I didnt care for the color.....I wont go back. The underlying theme of Modern is tell you what you want to hear, and do what they want without regard to customers request.

Great atmosphere. Went with my sister to get a trim and an ombré done. We had Nina and Priscilla. They we fanominal in thier work and Im pretty picky who gets close to my hair with sissors!

Today was the first time coming here and not only was I disappointed, but I didn’t even get a service done. I had an appointment to color my hair and the stylist were so rude. See, I have two colors on my hair and I was trying to do a blonde balayage. All the people I spoke to kept saying, “this is going to take too long” “you’ll be closing with us” and even “this is going to cost a lot.” I was willing to pay for my hair. I just felt like they wanted me out of there. Instead of them saying “hey, it’s not going to turn out like the picture you want, but we can get there in sessions.” I went there to get a hair makeover, but instead came out feeling worse about myself. I literally went there bc it was recommended to me. Based on my situation, I do not recommend this place!

I’ve been going to them since 2009 and they are great. Nena and Tammy, etc cut hair great and their color/ hilight selection is super. We all have our bad days but Just like any business the rude ones come and go-gone.

I showed the stylist (Tracy) a photo of Gisele, asking to dye my blonde highlights to match my roots and add a few low-contrast peek-a-boo caramel highlights. I got espresso brown hair (which they tried to insist was my natural color even though I held a lock over an eyebrow and it was at least four shades darker) with horrible, skunky-looking bleached highlights. I will now have to spend about $500 over the next 6 months on correct color treatments to get my hair back to a decent shade.And maybe the kicker to it all? When I was talking with the stylist and the owner (Manager? She was never formally introduced.), I said Id pay for the cut but not the color and the owner said no, I had to pay for the color, too. Oh, thank you so much. I really appreciate the opportunity to waste money on the worst dye job of my life.**Update -- As Ive been posting this review on all the sites I could find, I have read that this is not uncommon. Lots of other reviews discuss (a) how bad their dye job was, (b) how long their wait was, (c) how there are no refunds offered**Save yourself the money and aggravation and go somewhere that employs technically competent stylists and wont charge you for their mistakes.

I did not have an appointment bc i normally go to sports clips or a barbershop. I waited about 30 min on a saturday which i beleive is reasonable. Tammy took really good care of me and the price was cheaper than sports clips. I will be making an appointment next month and ditching clips.

I went in about 3 weeks ago for a hair cut. I donated all 27 inches off it. Originally I only wanted my hair cut up to my bottom bra line, I explained to the Mexican lady that cut my hair where and how much to cut off. As she starts I see that my hair is getting shorter and shorter. By this time my husband walks in and asks me out loud if I like it I didnt respond to him, that was our way of knowing I was not happy. My husband sends me a text telling me to tell her to stop or hell tell her, my response was its too late I cant change it now its not like she can add my hair back. At the end my husband said he thought it was really pretty and he liked it so I stuck with it and didnt complain.Just Saturday I went back to get color, I was scheduled to see Hunny but when I arrived I was told that Hunny was busy and couldnt do my color. So guess who I got? The same Mexican lady that cut my hair. I showed her 2 pictures of what I wanted, I specifically requested balayage she also said I wouldnt be able to get my hair the color of the first picture I showed her, so she said lets go for the second picture. Fast forward, she starts asking someone else about colors and what she should use, she starts toning down my hair and shes telling me that my hair had been colored before. I let her know I hadnt colored my hair in 5 years. When she takes my hair out the towel i hardly saw any color i was confused because the picture i showed her had lots of color. So she washed and blow dried my hair and i was finished. I wasnt completely satisfied but it was a change that I settled for.TODAY I go to another salon and Im told I dont have balayage I have highlights and my hair wasnt even divided the way its suppose to be to do balayage. I give Modern Salon a call and ask them what did they charge me for the lady tells me a hair cut and balayage first off i never got my hair cut I only got my hair colored and I didnt get balayage I got highlights. The lady begins to tell me balayage is highlights that are not to the root. Im very disappointed, I will never ever return and spend my money there. I asked for a specific style and got something else and Im sure they charged me for the cut and I never got my hair cut the same day. I have found another stylist who will do what I want. I dont recommend them to anyone.

The best place .for beauty

This was bad my mom wanted to get her hair cut and dyed but then when she askedto get her hair pink an white the could not do that they said so then she said how bout all blue they said no and even the she said just to bleach it but no it was was overly exapinsive. So even though her hair was half way bleached they just couldent just do something so simple but no they mad it very compcated. So I strongly recommend not coming here for such rudeness these 2girls had on my mom .just made no sence so now they are just cutting it. Just wanted to make my mom happy on her birthday ...for a good amout on starrs I hope there able to meat every ones want to there hair. Just because there a hair salon

This is my third visit to the salon and i always go back to Hannah as she does great color. My feedback is she is always over booked and there is always a wait for every single thing done to my hair...her booking needs to be done better or she as a stylist needs to step in and say something as im sure im not the only who has felt they have waited too long. Also I specifically ask to just have her do my hair when i book my appointment and its most of the time an assistant working on my hair and once again its bc she always has at least 3 people that are there at the same time having their hair done by her and she cant keep up with all. On my very first visit i was told to wait about 10-15 minutes so she could eat something bc she had nothing to eat...excuse me...i got here on time....not my fault.This last visit was the last straw...in total prob waited close to an hour just having to wait for her in between her many other clients. Ridiculous and very disappointed.

Very unorganized and unprofessional they need to get their priorities straight they have lost me and many friends of mine due to this terrible experience i have had other appointments planned for my beautification needs and their lack of proficency is the reason why i had tp cancel A friend of mine referred a lady named Hannah when I scheduled the appointment it was originally at 2 oclock I waited 50 minutes I had two ladies work on my head but not the one that was referred and not the one that I scheduled the appointment with yes I am very disappointed in this place and no I am not going to come back and no theyre not getting a tip
