My name is Dominic and I just completed the program here and it was difficult at first but very easy to adjust to. The staff is amazing and very open if you ever need to talk. I think this place would be a blessing for any adolescent to go to if they had a problem.

I went here a few years back and I liked it. I really want to come and visit and share my experience , strength ,and hope with the kids one day. I will have 2 years sober on March 2nd and I go to NA and I want people who actually want to be sober know that someone their age is out there doing it. I loved this place because of the staff and my counselor who was named Jennifer. Please contact me because I would love to stop by! I have tried multiple times but sadly no one answers but that’s okay because I get that y’all are busy!! I would recommend this place to anyone who thinks they are struggling with drug abuse or if you think your kid is.

My sister completed the 90 day program at The Odyssey House with miraculous outcomes. The Odyssey House has a wonderful program that encompasses physical, emotional, academic and spiritual growth for their participants. The staff was friendly, warm, compassionate and stern, which are important variables needed as the participants overcome their battles. It’s refreshing to see my sister’s new attitude towards life and her future. I am overall pleased with services and care rendered at The Odyssey House.

I was at this facility for a certain amount of days i will go from good to extremely terrible my experience here was terrible and embarrassing the people there don’t know how to communicate with the patients I myself was a patient and I was teaching them what they needed to know food was terrible this guy named Jayden did not know how to speak to the patients instead was sharing stories abt times when he was drunk patients would get there meds and share them amongst each other or trade them for snacks there were no safety precautions or any treatment it’s basically a day care for teens DRUGS WERE SMUGGLED a recent incident happened where a patient had a cartridge and pen containing thc ITS A TERRIBLE PLACE FOR GETTING HELP the lady at the office didn’t even much care to give us a proper tour or welcome this place should be shut down and should not be classified as a rehabilitation facility I truly hope you take this review In consideration or find out yourself here at this place if you were caught with contraband no punishment was reinforced but given brown scrubs to wear PLEASE TAKE CONSIDERATION OF MY COMMENT IM NOT MAKING THIS UP

The counselor seemed fairly good snd my 15 yr old liked him; however, they took him off the medication they knew prior to admission that he was on. He got a good review, then, after a staff member was verbally abusive to him, he suddenly had 8 write ups that appeared. He wasnt told he was leaving until someone showed up to get him. After being rushed out, he remembered he had clothes in the laundry. Now, no one seems to want to respond to my requests for the clothing.

While some staff seemed to care & try to mentor these lost kids the main problem is with the therapist, ROSALINDA Estrada. She contacted me to tell me I need to communicate better with my child. I agreed, mentioned the ways Ive tried & asked for suggestions only for her to catch an attitude & hang up on me....like how dare I ask her to do her job?!... My child & I have agreed to family counseling but thats at her discretion & she told my child we dont need it & then proceeded to LIE about it in the weekly reports saying we refused it...I doubt this woman has actually helped any child there, she isnt mentally fit for the position she was given & most likely doesnt have a credible degree...VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

I went here a long time ago and it changed my life. It’s unfortunate to see all these bad reviews on the staff, I remember some were a little difficult. Mrs Cynthia and Rodney were some of the staff when I attended that I remember who were amazing people and coordinators. I was the first graduate of the 6 month program they began and went in mostly having ED and not even a strong addiction (after trying a couple other treatment programs around Texas). I have used the skills / structure I learned with this program throughout my adulthood. Not sure what it is like now but I would love to visit some time. If you are seeking treatment for your kiddo I hope you find the resources you need, dont let the staff mislead you from the underlining treatment this program might have.

I wanted to share that I had a very good experience in support of my 17 yr old daughter. She came into the facility in need of guidance and some self awareness. The staff was very professional and courteous. The graduation ceremony / process was unexpected but very touching and well done.Id like to thank the following staff members:Ms. RebeccaMr. DerrickMr. AmalMr. JohnMr. WoodMr. KellyMs. EmilyMs. BrianaMs Heather was also an extremely valuable resource to explain the process, insurance, how the UR works (Utilization Review) and other things that parents need to know about if this is their first time through this process.

Odyssey House may not be the ideal placement for your child, I was court ordered here and it wasnt the greatest conditions, as far as sanitation 100% of the facility is cleaned by the residents.. with that being said I come from a household with a maid so i learned how to mop, sweep, wash dishes, etc. It is far from perfect but they are absolutely trying to improve the facility.. During My stay here i wrote approx. 3 grievances which werent answered until towards the end of my stay.. but I got the opportunity to sit down with the program director (Derrick) as well as human resources whom were very concerned and were able to make a decision that benefited the facility by firing ms. Betty. theyve hired a new set of counselors due to the others leaving in the middle of the program and a sexual interaction between a counselor and a resident. Theyre very professional in comparison to the last set! As far as the smuggling of contraband it has nothing to do with any staff its completely residents it is extremely easy & should be addressed.. if whatever youre trying to bring is tucked in your underwear it comes in with you. they do not do full nude body searches. There is a few great staff there who encourage the residents to continue working their program ( Walt, Andrea, Shelby, Jack, Katie, and Madison ) completing this program has changed the way i look at my life and has intrigued me to continue pursuing my education and ill be graduating high school next month because of the experience here.

Horrible place. My son was recently put in and was taken out just weeks later. The staff is abusive, the schooling consists of middle school worksheets, staff has been reportedly smuggling drugs and cigarettes in. Cigarettes are commonly smoked and never cracked down on on the upper level of the institution. The other patients would pick fights and covered his bed in toothpaste several times and never got any sort of punishment. My son got disciplined for standing up for himself when another patient tried to beat him for no apparent reason. Staff was rude and almost never delievered his mail intentionally for weeks. Counselors were for the most part really good, but the place is unsanitary and entirely unfair/rude to the patients. Poor things need help not to be degraded everyday. Staff should be in jail. Go somewhere else or get therapy.

I would not take my children here. I took my son here he was threatened by the staff. A grown man told him he would knee him and crush his glasses in his face. The other kids in here were left unsupervised to beat up kids that were in here. My son said one of his friends got beat up. There was a bully there that was abusing everyone. Was there any discipline for what they did? No! They should be in jail not rehab. The staff that was abusive needs to be in jail too! My son went there with all new clothes but did not come home with everything because the people there stole them. The director would not even return my calls. It was so bad that my sons counselor told him the night before I picked him up if anything happened to call him on his cell phone. He is leaving there going to work somewhere else. There is this one female counselor who is crazy... You cant miss her she sticks out like a soar thumb! This place should be closed with the things that goes on behind those doors. I would not recommend this place for anyone! Had I known this before we wouldnt have had this horrible experience that did more harm to my son when he went there for help!

I am a parent of a child who recently walked out of Odyssey House and I would not recommend this place to anybody. My son was downtown detention center and he was better off there than at Odyssey House. They can get drugs in the facility, walk out at any time and when they do they dont care where they go, all they do is call the police and make a report, the managment lady who runs the place is rude, fake, and honestly dont care about the children at all.....its just a job attitude .... if you want help for your child I suggest you look in another direction because this place is a joke, a state funded joke
