Very Disappointed with their front desk staff. They never return my calls. When I do get a live person, they dont offer their name and seem bothered. I now have a new insurance carrier which had them listed as a provider. I was told they dont accept it, to go back to the insurance and have them provide the additional name of insurance. Well I did and I called back and left a voicemail. One week later, still no response. They did not seem eager to help and I felt as though I was taking up their time. The doctor seems very pleasant. Too bad I couldnt get through. I ended up going elsewhere. They lost a customer due to poor service...

I recently went in for a routine visit and found to have some other issues with my eyes. The ladies at the front desk are a pleasure! I have been in a lot lately and they are always kind, and answer everything! I know at times it gets busy in there and I have left messages and I always get a call back. Not sure about the complaints but they must be those people who complain about everything and dont get an immediate call back. IT IS COVID-19 and they have additional precautions they must take so it might take a little longer to get through but they always call/text back!

*EDITED REVIEW* a mistake was made by the office and I was originally not happy with how it was handled. After a few phone calls, talking with the woman who handles billing, and a discussion with the office staff in person, I was much happier with the outcome. Thank you for agreeing to resolve this error.

Worst eye Care place. They gave me contact fitting that wasnt covered by my insurance and didnt tell me it wasnt covered until it was time to pay out of pocket. Also they only fitted me for daily contacts (a random brand that I didnt ask for and never had before that cant even be purchased online), when I wanted to be fitted for monthly contacts but they never told me there was a difference.. Then claimed I needed to get fitted again if I want monthlys and need to pay out of pocket again. The doctor also was extremely rude to his employee in front of his patients.

I have never seen a doctors office so badly managed/run. Every year we order the contact lenses, we cannot get them without multiple follow up calls. It is so easy to mess up the orders and so hard to keep track of them. This year we are having the worst experience ever. Three months after the order, we are still not getting them. After multiple calls and being assured somebody will get back to us, we still havent received any calls. Now even during office hours, when I call, only voice mail picks up. I dont know if it is just they are busy or they can recognize my phone number and put me direct to voice machine. Please be professional if not efficient or caring!

Dr. McPhillips and his staff are excellent. They always take great care of my husband and I. We would never consider going anywhere else. Dr. McPhillips takes his time with every patient and is very thorough. He makes sure he addresses all questions and concerns. What more can you ask for?

I love the convenience of this location but its time to move to another practice. The front office is so horribly run and mismanaged. They are often rude and rushed. My husband had difficulty getting them to log our updated insurance which only resulted in us getting inaccurate bills, despite our efforts to give them the information. I was recently scheduled for a 9:00am appointment and the office staff didnt show up until 9:10am to unlock the front door(?!?!). They seem to be woefully understaffed and have high turnover - and they comment to this effect every time I am there. They are very disorganized. Two weeks ago, they took my name and number to call me for a quote on a pair of prescription sunglasses (because they were too understaffed to just give me the quote then and there) and, of course, never called. I do hear frequently that they are overpriced compared to other providers. Such a shame. Dr. McPhillips is nice enough but seemingly oblivious to the way the office is run.

The staff is pleasant and the doc is knowledgeable. You can tell that he reads the current literature and is up on the newest treatments. The exams are thorough, which I am fine with because if something is wrong with my eyes, I want to know.Be very careful when ordering contact lenses here. Out of the 4 or 5 years I have been going to this office, they have screwed up my contact lens order 3 or 4 times. The result is it has taken between 2 weeks and one MONTH to receive my contacts. When you order contacts, double check everything and ask them to confirm for you that the order is in.

This office didnt take care of their patient.I brought my son visit that office four weeks ago, after doctor talk to me I ask a copy of prescription, then Dr. McPhillips sail why I need it, I said we need it for a pair of classes. He seems not happy but said ok. Then I waiting, waiting, waiting there for more than half hour for them to print only one page of prescription. Dr, wanted my so order a new lens the we did and paid immediately. two weeks ago I called the office wanted to know when will be ready to pick the new lens and they talk me may need one or two weeks more. then I called today, Marian on the front desk told me something happy the order was deleted I need wait more time. What kind of service they provided to their patient! They think my son need the new lens but dont follow up to deliver the lens to their patient. They are very rude from Dr. to staff. I hope I never went to this office but we paid big amount of money already. How should we do now? We still dont know how long we will be waiting ...

Dr. McPhillips and his staff were very pleasant and professional. During my initial visit, they suggested several visual tests that had never been mentioned to me by previous ophthalmologists. Consequently, the eye exam revealed a condition that can be easily treated. I look forward to future appointments with this office.

I decided to give this place a try. While the front staff was nice, I was waiting for ~20 minutes before being seen by a tech. When the tech came out to get me, she did not tell me her name.We ran through some tests and then the optometrist, Dr. McPhillips, performed the eye exam. He seemed nice, albeit a little creepy. Again, he did not introduce himself.Afterwards, they had me sit in the waiting room to see the optician for frames and lenses. When I told them that I would not be purchasing my glasses there, they had me wait for 10 minutes and then said they wanted to run some additional tests. The doctor then told me I had large nerves inside of my eyes and that could lead to glaucoma. When I went to check out, they told me I needed to pay an additional $50 copay because of the extra testing. At no point did the tech or the doctor tell me that the additional testing would incur charges outside of the eye exam (which my insurance covered).I ordered my glasses from somewhere else, and the lenses are very strong. So strong that I get slightly dizzy from wearing them for more than 5 minutes. When I spoke to my wife, her experience was nearly identical to mine.Primary Eye Care Associates are the text-book example of how to nickel-and-dime. I would rather have those additional tests conducted by an ophthalmologist, someone who could actual perform the surgery, than some creepy person who gives off the vibe of a used car salesman. Your eyes deserve much better than this. Stay very far away.

They overbook, reception is rude, and keep you waiting. I had been a customer of them only because they accepted my sons insurance, and they were close by. It takes a long time to get to seee the doctor, go through appointment process. Then to pick out glasses is just not worth it. They are also overly expensive. I have since moved on and am so happy that I switched to Willow Eye care. They never keep you waiting, and are very attentive!

Entire experience with recent appointment was perfect. Never feel that staff is rushing me through. Have been a patient of Dr. McPhillips for a long, long time and would never change to another doctor. He is very professional, caring, and friendly always taking his time to answer any questions/concerns that I may have. Would highly recommend Dr. McPhillips to others.

I try to be positive in my reviews, but I had a very bad experience here. After 3 visits, I still did not get a prescription to order the contacts Ive been wearing for years. They kept telling me, A lot of times contact lenses get discontinued, and you cannot order them anymore. I went on the companys website to find that in no way had the contacts been discontinued. I had no desire to switch, and they kept trying to force me to use different contacts. Then, when they gave me other contacts that I didnt like, they tried to tell me it was because I had a condition called dry eye. They told me another doctor would contact me so they could do a procedure to fix this problem. At every turn there were excuses, and I think ultimately they just wanted me to buy contact lenses through them, instead of a more affordable online site. I will not be going back to this place.

Until the past year it was a fine establishment. However there is a new front desk lady who is woefully incompetent. The optical assistant is endlessly chatty and painfully takes as long as possible to attend to customers. Find another place.

Absolutely horrible. I had my appointment on the 12th of July. My glasses were supposed to be ready in 6-10 business days, but the woman taking care of me processed it in front of me so it was supposed to be shorter. Its august 4th and Ive called twice about picking up my glasses. I was on hold for 15 minutes both times and then sent to voice mail. No one got back to me. Not to mention, they told me my insurance would cover both pairs of glasses and my appointment, but i was charged $71 out of nowhere. So Im stuck and i still dont have my glasses. Dont go here. Theres a place in Lansdale that takes MUCH better care of their customers.

Never EVER EVER go to these people for an eye exam or glasses. I have been waiting for routine prescription eyeglasses for 7 weeks. Combining their incompetence with their lab, they have made them wrong 3 TIMES, and they keep promising me new dates when I will get them and I still dont have them. I have wasted hours of time driving back and forth to their office and on the phone. PLEASE DONT LET COMPANIES LIKE THIS PUSH THE CONSUMERS AROUND. Please pass the word. This business has Incompetent people with a cavalier attitude. THANK YOU
