The staff at this YMCA are amazing. Ed, Joanne, Corrie, and Faith at the front desk are welcoming, fantastic, and so supportive. Sarah and Dana have both gone out of their way to encourage me and show me how to use equipment I wasnt familiar with. Stacey is a fantastic yoga teacher and so upbeat and friendly. I work out here 7 days a week and Im treated like family every time I walk in the door. Thanks to the Hoover YMCA Ive lost 20 lbs in less than 3 months.

Great facility and staff. Im a member of the Madison YMCA, but have been going here through nationwide membership. They have been very accommodating every time I visit, which makes my time here enjoyable.

Rude front desk person. Rude person in another area. Glad we didnt become members! We wont ever! Fantastic job making my wife cry! It takes extremely abrasive personalities to do that. Certainly earned your 1 star. Good thing theres plenty of other fitness options around.

In addition to loving that this place is only 5 minutes from my house, I love the Zumba classes that are offered here! The place is always clean, they recently added new equipment, and my husband loves the spin classes. If you want people to motivate you on your wellness journey, join!

I have been a member of at least 4 different gyms within the last 10 years, and this one is the best! The facility is always clean, the staff is nice, and they have a lot of new equipment. The trainers and staff are very friendly and helpful, so if you have questions or need any help, they will kindly help you. The price for the membership is reasonable and well worth it in comparison to other gyms. They provide clean towels, plenty of filtered water to refill your bottle, and great childcare. I love the Hoover Y!

I love this location. We have a city-wide membership, and this location is our favourite.I do wish they had more fitness options for kids. My daughter loves the Sarasota YMCA because they had a room with equipment and instruction just for kids. It was great. She cant even work out under my supervision at Hoover.

I really love the YMCA in Hoover. The staff are always professional and kind. I really enjoy Robyns workout classes and Cindys spin classes. They have the best workout sessions! I would highly recommend coming to the YMCA Hoover.

Facilities are great. Very clean.Would be 5 stars except the front desk service is awful. The older women attending the front desk don’t stop flirting with the young guys that are working out long enough to assist any other customers or answer simple questions.

I was told about the scholarship opportunity for the after school program. I applied months ago and have yet to hear from the coordinator, even after numerous emails. I am now currently waiting on a response to my question about the summer scholarship, in hopes that the earlier I apply, the better chance I have at even being considered. She made me feel like I was put in the back of the line due my needing financial help.UPDATE: After finally hearing from a new coordinator, I was told to to fill out the scholarship application and wait for an acceptance/denial the beginning of April. That is exactly what I did, and after being accepted (which I truly am grateful for), all of the childcare spots are now wait-listed! How is a company going to ask someone to sit back and wait for a response from them for months, only to find out that I can not even utilize the scholarship that I was offered. Now I have to find a last minute summer care program because of their lack of consideration. I understand that I need financial assistance- but I have had it with this company putting me on their list of Get to when we have a chance because of it!

Horrible. I’ve had issues with the staff members for years. Unprofessional and honestly need new staff members that are more approachable and have more experience in customer service. It’s discouraging when the staff has treated me so poorly for years. I will just have to start working out at my university now.

My kids love here better than greystone branch because of more space.But the swim pool close too early.

This YMCA has really let me down; Im no longer a member here. My husband is active duty military and frequently deploys. Because of this, I had a single membership. When he was home one weekend, they would not allow him to workout or be my guest because it was the weekend. We were upset, but then we went about our day.The next weekend, he was overseas again and I went for my usual workout. I witnessed the front desk woman allow several members each bring a guest and it was also a weekend. She even said she wasnt supposed to let them in, but did anyway. I brought it to a staff members attention and nothing was ever done. In addition to many other disappointments, I eventually canceled my membership.

Need to offer more classes at night such as Body Pump.

The staff was extremely nice until today I met the director at the counter. She was extremely rude and unprofessional! She told me my name or my husbands name was not in there system we are new members here this was in fact my 5th time coming to the gym. I explained that we were new my husband is active duty for the military and before now we havent had any problems. She acted as if I wanted something for free or wanted something specifically from her! I have never dealt with anyone so unprofessional in my life so I asked for her boss number she refused but gave me a number to someone shes in good contact with because their attitudes were the exact same way. She wouldnt give me the correct phone number to speak to someone for their behavior in fact Leigh Allen gave me a disconnected phone number. So I had to basically call around to different YMCAs to get the correct number to speak with the proper authority. Im currently waiting for a call back! Again Hoovers director and her little side kick Leigh are extremely unprofessional and need to take a customer service class!
