My family and I were in Hawaii temporarily seeking to get our annual physicals done and fill out some medical paperwork. We tried finding a facility that took our insurance but were unsuccessful. Fortunately we found this place. At first I wasnt sure we would be accepted or if the doctor would fill out the paperwork but thankfully Jeff spoke with me and helped me set up appointments for my whole family over the phone. He was extremely kind and helpful, always keeping contact with me through email if I had questions and sending me important documents and information. My first experience was there was wonderful, Dr. Levy and the office staff were so helpful and nice. Extremly impressed by the professionalism they shown. Manakai O Malama is by far the best place that I’ve been! Dr Scott Acree and Medical Assistant Margie are always on top of my pain management and health. I highly recommend them for your medical and physical therapy needs.

I took my girlfriend here after her car accident and she has been going here for a while. We had a very difficult time getting in touch with someone at the office. I spoke with several different people but they all seemed a little confused or flustered when I tried to schedule her appointment. Fortunately I spoke with Jeff on the phone. He was wonderfuland understood our situation and helped get her set up with the doctor and explained to us everything we needed to know before coming in. He got her paper work emailed to us in seconds. We arrived 20 minutes early wuth the paperwork but when we came into the office it just seemed chaotic. There were only 2 receptionist working but they were so occupied with other things that they forgot to check her in. 10 minutes past her appointment time, the nurse took her in. A couple weeks later we got a bill, I called and asked to speak with someone from billing but they put me on hold for a while. When I finally got to speak with a biller she seemed upset and had an almost condescending tone when explaining to me the billing process. Despite the issues with the front desk and billing, her doctors and therapists have been great. If service was better then i would give a higher rating. I would suggest looking elsewhere for treatment if you can, but if you do choose to go here then I suggest speaking with Jeff or an office manager for help.

I have been coming to Manakai O Malama for close to 8 yrs now for my pain management and if it werent for PA Scott Acree, I would be either very ill or dead. I started out strickly dealing with my pain management, but Scott noticed other unmentioned issues in my chart, mainly high blood pressure. After several visits for pain, he decided to dig deeper. Well, because my blood pressure was not being managed by my PCP at another facility, Scott decided he would deal with it. After several blood test, it was determined that I was in stage 3 of Chronic Kidney Disease or CKD. This is one step above Diaylsis. He started me on blood pressure meds IMMEDIATLY, but the damage was done. He refered me to the best Nephrologist Dr. Tasaki which he took over my kidney care. My kidneys have now stablized. Also Scott did not like my cholesterol and triglyceride results. He put me on meds for this also. Now my numbers are like a 20 yr old. Scott continued to research my issues and continued to mske things right. I am also grateful for Margie, as she always deals with any of my med issues or problems getting my meds. She understands how important meds are and goes out of her way to make things right. She does not wait around to be told what to do, SHE GETS IT DONE. With all this said, again Scott saved my life and my quality of life. Margie, well lets just say, she gets things done. ALL the staff are wonderful, but these two are my life savers.

The therapists, nursing staff (Dorothy) and providers (Dr. Levy) are great..if you can actually see them. The reception is a mess, doubt me, keep reading comments. When theyre busy they will literally pick up the phone and hang it up, simply to stop the ringing. This is Dr office, a healthcare facility..not a McDonalds. Incredibly unprofessional. Answer the phone. I was in too much pain to actually come in to see Dr. Levy with the sole purpose of discussing this and the new medication he prescribed. The new girl at reception, who is no longer new, shes been there since I first started going here, yet somehow is either blamed for everything, as if thats supposed to make it ok, never emailed the telehealth link. I tried calling for hours, got the hang up game until 10 min before my scheduled appt. Too late. She is either unable to perform the duties, so maybe time to let her go, or she gets blamed. Since I talked to her, Im guessing its a mix of excuses. She never called to say she messed up, nothing. Just let me wait 4 hours to be told she did it wrong by a coworker.Theyve mixed my appts (never ever leave without a printout, even though your proof wont matter when you get there but still have no appt.) I feel bad for the service providers who are undoubtedly not making the money they should be due to these errors. Mostly, I feel bad for the patients. Shop around. Why go to a facility that is a chaotic mess and screws up your appts? If you need PT or other services, go where youll get them.

I (and my family of 4) have been going to Malama since we moved back home to the islands 10 years ago. As a single Mother of 3 boys you can imagine how often we must get medical care or advice for something. ;) Scott Acree in particular is our PA - it is because of Scott we still go there. He takes time to listen, and even will answer personal texts (which I RARELY try to do) to make sure we are ok or getting the medical care we need. My kids love him too!I have been wanting to write a review for some time now and finally taking the time to do this as I know how important health care is right now. I was referred to Manakai O Malama from the Va. My nurse was very helpful, and a sweetheart. Dr. Levy reviewed my record jacket, and suggested a flew shot, and I was on my way. Exceptional service, extremely clean, and the people are just wonderful. Full 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

The doctors that I have worked with at Manakai O Malama have been great. I have recommended them a few times to relatives and friends. The administrative staff sometimes seems to be a bit overwhelmed, so, for example, you may need to follow up more than once by phone on questions or prescription requests. But for me, its been a good experience overall.

My husband and I have been getting our medical needs met at Manakai o Malama since 2009. The medical staff is courteous and professional, and the waiting area is spacious and comfortable. The doctors and physician assistants take the time and trouble to make sure you know what is going on with your health and have appropriate medication. We appreciate the ability to make appointments online or by phone. The only thing missing is the ability to pay bills online. Five stars isnt enough.

Love all the doctors and nurse practitioners here! They listen, really listen, and then ask questions—the ones that lead us to the real root problem. I do my homework and I’m an out-of-the-box thinker. So, I’m always impressed how these practitioners exceed my expectations, and how much I learn from them!Aside from their brilliant East-meets-West knowledge, they are kind and well schooled at making sure we are calm and content before we leave the building.

PA Scott Acree is the best doctor! I feel very comfortable expressing my needs and always have felt heard. I have been a patient of Scott’s for many years.

I wouldnt go anywhere else. Dr Zunins approach of integrated medicine focuses on more than just giving out prescriptions. His diverse team of professionals have always been there for me when my health slipped. Fortunately that hasnt been too often lately, but I know they will be there when I need them.

Exellent quality care from Dr. Levy and physical therapists Steve and Nani. Also, Julie and Scott have assisted me very well! Waiting times not too bad. Only difficulty is with prescription renewals, you must order in advance of expiration by a week or so...

Manakai O Malama is a really great medical practice. I really like that they will provide you with both western and eastern medicine or natural options if you request these from the physicians. They also usually have a wide range of specialists on staff all right in the same place so that you dont have to go to another place for every little thing (e.g. physical therapists, psychologists, physicians assistant for womans exams, etc.). Lastly, the aesthetics of the place are very calming and pleasing for a doctors office: theres a little water fountain, plants, art on the walls, wood features etc.) Its much more comfortable than your average doctors office. Love this place, give them a try if your looking for warmer experience with contemporary and alternative thinking.

The medical team support I had at Manakai O Malama was exceptional. I was guided through the testing , examination and treatment options with care and professionalism. At the same time I was being educated and included in the process. Follow up has also be supportive and ongoing.

I was out sourced to this facility by the military for a sleep study. I was told to call and schedule an appointment. That ordeal was a pain, after calling the telephone number, emailing, and private chatting with the website. 3 months later I was finally scheduled an appointment for a Saturday night at 8pm. The person making the appointment said I would get an email and phone calls for parking and directions. That email and call never came. I had to do my own research to figure all it out. So here it is night of appointment, and I have to ask parking guy how to get there office. Then I call the number for their sleep tech and get no response. I am currently sitting outside of the office waiting to be seen. Still no answer for d it said to call for sleep tech no one coming to check for me. This a real pain the behind. I am wasting a Saturday extremely poor service. If not for the fact that the military gives.me no choice to where to go I would.nevwr come back here extremely poor service. These people are just stealing government money

I got a good peaceful feeling when I entered and I believe in holistic and integrated medicine. I have always had Kaiser and always had a naturopath. The best of both worlds but Ill be changing to a different insurance since HMSA will allow pcp to be a naturopath.Im hoping I will stay with them Staff is friendly and warm. When you are Ill or worried that makesakes a big difference. I currently arranging care with them.

This is a hidden gem among health care facilities. More often than not, the resolution of a medical condition requires several different practitioners who are capable of working together to bring about the best possible results for patients. Heres a classic example. I suffered from PTSD and was living on adrenaline for a two year period. My brain and body were stuck in fight or flight mode and it wrecked havoc on me. I worked with an occupational therapist to help me change destructive habits, a psychologist to help me talk through and resolve the trauma, a nutritional therapist who helped me figure out how to replenish my depleted body and an acupuncturist to help calm my nervous system and allow it to remember its normal firing patterns. In four months, I felt my body shift from being an adrenaline junkie to normalcy. I was considering enrolling in the sleep study lab to address chronic insomnia but didnt need to go there. I had some residual issues with my body that were resolved through their in-house PT program. Dr. Levy has become my primary care doctor since he joined the staff a few years ago. Im warming up to the idea that he is actually a brilliant diagnostician and a very wise and competent physician. When I trust his judgement, even though I have grumbled at times, wondering if he was actually listening to me, I am generally surprised to discover that his advice proves quite fruitful. Im very happy with this place. Its comforting to know that so many medical issues can be addressed and resolved through their comprehensive and integrated programs. The office is centrally located with plenty of parking in the garage. The facility is very pleasant and welcoming. The wait in their comfortable reception area is generally short. Its a very popular and well liked facility, therefore phone calls might not be answered when the front desk gets busy. Call back; its well worth the extra effort it occasionally requires to get through to one of their friendly receptionists.

Called and asked to make an appointment, office staff asked to give me a call back in 10-15 minutes, never called me back. I called back and they told me theyd called me, which they had not. Proceeded to tell me my super minor issue actually needs to go to the urgent care. All it would take is a nurse sitting down with me for 5 min or less, but they didnt feel like doing their jobs today, and because they wont help me, my issue will go untreated, I dont have enough money for the urgent room nor the time or means to get there. Whereas, the clinic was a 5 minute walk from my work. Would not reccomend this clinic.

Scott PA is great. Super nice, informative, professional, caring, prompt. The other doctors there... Meh. Had a first appt set with one I cant even remember his name and I was 10 min late and he left for lunch, so my appt was cancelled. I understand everyone needs to eat but either tell front desk you wont take patients during a certain time or cut them a little bit more slack seeing we have to wait up to 30 minutes past our appt because YOU are running late. If it wasnt for Scott Id be changing offices 100%.Scott Acree, PA 5 stars, other physician 1 star...

I would like to go back there. I really liked my psychologist that I was seeing. He was very on point. The nurses was friendly. There were some not so nice people. They couldve been a bit more tactful when dealing with people with chronic pain. Other than that they were ok.

I really liked the dr I saw. Way better than the last one. On another note, Im still trying to return my CPAP. I continue to be told someone would call me but nothing yet (its been months!). Tried to bring it back but was told the front desk couldnt take it.

I absolutely love this office. Front desk is always friendly, Dez and Chaz are fantastic. They always greet you with a smile and remember the small things in life to ask about your family. Dr. Scott couldnt be more caring and has a great sense of humor. Hillary is dedicated to making sure all angles are covered in PT and has your best interest at heart. They can generally get you in for an appointment very quickly if need be. Ive never had better or more personal care from a healthcare team.
