If you are a Veteran and in need to hearing services I highly recommend Dr. Shayla O’Connell. She takes wonderful care of her patients. My husband is a Veteran and the VA has rescheduled many times because of the pandemic & the last time they pushed it back to March 2021! Not acceptable- we called care in the community and were able to see Dr. O’Connell within a few weeks!My husband has had a hearing loss from military service and has worn hearing aids for many years. We have had our fair share of mediocre providers, and what a breath of fresh air it was to see Dr. O’Connell- she is so patient and kind, she treated us like family. She spent time explaining to us how hearing works and realistic expectations of hearing aids. She programmed my husbands hearing aids and he finally is able to wear them almost all day (he’s always worn them sporadically) but after seeing Dr. O’Connell she was able to make it comfortable and educated us on the importance of wearing them daily.Even if you’re not a veteran, if you have a hearing loss I recommend going to Hawaii Professional Audiology because they truly care about your ability to communicate and access to good hearing services.

Outstanding services! Highly recommend this audiology practice to anyone with hearing loss or tinnitus. The quality of service is top-notch from the front office staff to the audiologist, the service is unbelievable.Dr. O’Connell is an incredible audiologist- she is kind and caring. Her passion for the field is evident in how she lights up when she talks about hearing loss- she has taught me to be a better advocate for myself and to own my hearing loss. The best part of it all is that she is so relatable- she is a Hawaiian and understands the culture from a view point of a community member. She also has hearing loss and wears hearing aids too. She’s able to take what I describe to her (which doesn’t always make sense) and then make the perfect adjustment. Honestly I’ve never had any audiologist do that and I’ve been in hearing aids for over 10 years! If you live on Oahu this is the place to come for audiology.

Very professional staff. They validated my parking and the doctor spent time reviewing the hearing test results so I understood the results.
