This was my first acupuncture appointment ever and they made the process very easy. The office is clean, comfortable and relaxing. Staff is friendly and helpful. Mei Lin is extremely knowledgeable, affable and listened to all of my concerns. I went in with joint pain and felt some relief after the first treatment. I was also served tea right after. I am in love with Maunakea Acupuncture, from the moment I walked into the office it was quiet and very relaxing. The receptionist was very sweet and friendly. Mei Lin was a gem, she listened and asked questions. She was very gentle. They use natural oils and have defusers in the rooms. I loved the calming music and the oils.This combined with acupuncture and cupping oh and a cup of tea after the treatment was just the best. I feel relaxed and refreshed. For the last three months, all my sessions were very good- went in for nerve pain on my leg. Mei Lin not only help me manage my pain but also the sessions were very rejuvenating. First time trying acupuncture and cupping was ...wow, I was brave! Glad I was not feeling the pain that I imagined it might bring! Having needles all over (exaggerating..not all over :P) my body was interesting, haha. This place has a soothing ambience, very relaxing. The front desk lady was very nice. The consultation with Mei-Lin for my 1st visit was good. She tried to collect as much information about my health and provided helpful suggestions. Mei-Lin is a sweet lady and she demonstrates her knowledge in a professional way. The only trouble I had was to find the suite 805...It took me a while to realize that the elevator on the adjacent building would take me up to the clinic, not the elevator in the parking building. I dont know how much acupuncture will help me at this time (I have fertility issue) but I am willing to return to do some more sessions, its also a peace to my mind.

I initially went to Mei-Lin for infertility, and saw positive changes after two months. Every session makes me feel calm and centered and I always look forward to them. I will keep going once I get pregnant and after for stress relief. Its better than the spa in my opinion. Mei Lin is attentive, caring and talented. Love her!

Her aromatherapy and precise know how regarding pinpointing certain areas to make you feel better is simply amazing. The delicious tea is a perfect way to end the session and her front desk manager is really on it and great at what she does. Sometimes she even sneaks me into a room early to relax if they have one available. Highly recommend.

Located in the Kuakini medical Plaza, parking structure attached (parking is validated for patients). If you park on the 3rd Floor of the parking structure, it brings you into the building on the 3rd floor. I believe her office is on the 8th Floor.Ive had acupuncture all over the world and this is by far the nicest office I have been in. I was so comfortable, I fell asleep for a short time during my session. Highly recommended.

I always wanted to try acupuncture but never did because of my fear of needles. If this is the reason holding you back from trying it, Im here to tell you to ignore those fears and go for it because you wont regret it. It is one of the best health decisions I made for myself. I first started to see Mei-Lin for anxiety, and of course the thought of being poked with needles only made me more anxious, but she was very understanding about my fear of needles and definitely did her best to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. It took me a few sessions to really get comfortable with the needles, but once I did, I started to notice the benefits of acupuncture and my anxiety levels started to become manageable. I also saw her for a pain in my arm that I had for years after a fall, but the pain has been completely gone for almost a year now. Basically any ailment or problem I have seen Mei-Lin for has seen tremendous improvement. Now I look forward to my appointments as I have the best naps as that is how relaxed and comfortable I am now. Like I said, dont wait!!! Id like also add that acupuncture is not a miracle cure - like anything else it doesnt just take one treatment and will require a treatment plan.

Maunakea Acupuncture & Wellness Center is great place for those, like myself, who’ve never experienced acupuncture before and are first-timers. Dr. Mei Lin helped put my anxiety at ease and made my experience amazing. Evertytime I entered her facility I left feeling more relaxed and with less pain than I entered. I came to her office for treatment on one of my body parts but wasn’t feeling good due to a migraine headache that had been ongoing for two days. I didn’t think I’d be able to work through the session but she told me not to worry and that she would be able to help with some of the pain. By the end of my session, my body was relaxed and in less pain. Best of all my migraine was almost completely gone without having had to take any medication. I don’t think I can live without acupuncture now. It’s a part of my healing.

Ive been seeing Mei Lin for almost a year now for acupuncture. Originally it was for congestion issues, which the acupuncture did help to relieve. I go in every month for health maintenance. Maunakea Acupuncture & Wellness Center worked wonders for me. I had recurring neck pain and stiffness and Mei-Lin sourced the pain to other parts of my back and shoulders. After a couple of sessions of cupping and acupuncture, but along with instruction and knowledge to help me properly address my body AFTER the session, the pain was greatly reduced and eventually the problem diminished. It was the combination of her actions on the spot AND her knowledge and recommendations on overall wellness that healed me. Ive been to many acupuncturists in the past that only worked on me but did not provide additional insight for continual improvement. This was the difference.Oh...and the soothing herbal tea at the end of my treatment was a perfect touch!

Mei Lin and her staff at Maunakea Accupuncture are exceptional.Having a huge fear of needles I never tried acupuncture, have been lthrough every physical therapy one could have offered. Physical therapy through my Doctor, water therapy, Chiropractic. All had there place and offered their own individual relief. My health insurance provider suggested acupuncture as a new option for my constant pain that has been a long journey. My first appointment was consultation and speaking with Mei Lin about the issues and how they would be approached. Everything was explained simply. My first treatment as a needle fearful person was relaxing, when I left I felt the benefits of my first treatment. When one is in constant pain any relief from it is a Blessing. Got to my car to leave, it was so painless the pain I had arriving had been left somewhere else for now. If you are like me and are living with constant pain please you owe it to yourself to make an appointment to speak with and be treated by Mei Lin.My first appointment was in August 2016 it is November and I continue treatment 1 a week for maintenance. The constant intense pain has gone down many levels what was a pain level of 8 or 9 reduces to 1 or 2.If you have never had this kind of pain your are fortunate. If you are an individual or know someone who has pain to this degree Mei Lin should be the next appointment you make. Relief, serenity and the mind and body connection are very therapeutic. I visit MeiLin each time I visit from Florida. The accupuncure treatment has helped reduce the benign tremors in my left hand. This time one treatment has reduced the pain in my righthand and the stiffness in my foot. Ill coninue to visit until I return to Florida.

My husband was told he had a pinched nerve in his neck. His pain level was between 8 & 10. The pain was so severe he was nauseated and could not sleep and his right arm was numb and painful. It was hard for him to feed himself.I had him in the ER, 2 times and he was given a lot of pain meds, but nothing else. Even though he had the meds his pain was not going away. He was unable to sleep on his back or even lying down. He had to sleep upright!!! He could not drive the car. His right arm was so number & nerve pain sore it was useless to him. Up until this my husband was an active man, and this was scary to see him so laid up and helpless.I knew of acupuncture and knew of a few people who had good results from it. Neither of us had ever tried it before this. I was open minded to using Chinese medicine since it has been around for over 3 thousand years.I started researching it online and reading about it, and then I noticed an announcement in the local Midweek newspaper for a talk on acupuncture with Mei-Lin, and I said to my husband lets go! Even though we researched it online, we learned a lot about it from Mei-Lin. We made an appointment and it has helped so much -it was amazing. Acupuncture reduced the pain so much and he was able to sleep lying down. After more treatments he could sleep on his right side which was his bad side, and it was like a night & day difference! It has been improving with extra treatments. So if you have pain, do not wait, get to Mei-Lin office and try it - acupuncture works!

Ive been getting services from Mei-Lin nearing close to a year. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone for any medical issues or concerns. During the months of treatments, I have developed a sense of trust which has always been an important factor to me! Mei-Lin has always displayed professionalism, sincerely cares about her patients welfare, and has adequate knowledge on how to treat ailments. Ive always believed in holistic treatment and/or natural healing so when I contracted what I thought to be arthritis in both hands and trigger fingers, I immediately sought out an alternative treatment rather than going to my general medicine doctor. Going to my family doctor I knew, would not cure my pain, but just mask it with medication. Since Mei-Lin is conveniently located in the same building as my doctor, I decided to give her a try. After a few months of treatment, my pain was all gone, I had full movement of my fingers, and no pain in my hands! Thereafter, one day after work, both of my ears were plugged and sounds of engines were running loud to where my hearing was at a 80-90% lost! It happened to be on a Friday and I had a school function to attend the next morning since I am a school teacher. Being unable to get to the doctor the next day, I called and was told to get a decongestant from the drugstore and come in on Monday. I went to see my doctor on Monday and was told nothing was wrong with my ears and was referred to a specialist that day. The specialist checked my ears and reported the same thing, nothing wrong detected. They even gave me a hearing test that same day and suggested I need a hearing aid! At my worst condition, I am given a hearing test and being told I needed a hearing aid got me angry! Since my condition was unknown, I was prescribed medication to be taken for one week and to return for a follow up visit. During the one week of taking the meds, I developed shortness of breath and irregular heartbeats, but being the samurai that I am, I stuck it out. On my follow up visit to the specialist, my hearing got better, but the ringing in my ears persisted. Whats funny is I never got to speak to the lead doctor and worked only with his assistant. I was told the progress was good since my hearing improved, but he would want me to submit to a CT Scan or an MRI to make sure I didnt have a tumor behind my eardrum. Throughout this ordeal, I developed some inner feelings of uneasiness and concerns about their focus being on the almighty dollar. I settled for the CT Scan and refused the MRI. Before I left, I asked the assistant if there were any side effects to the medication I was given like what I experienced and was told yes! I stopped, had to keep my composure, and asked why I wasnt told about it since one of them was a sample given to me. Of course, I was so upset I didnt even focus on what answer I was given. A few weeks thereafter, a friend mine shared his experience and I found out he also went to this same specialist and experienced the same thing. That was enough for me to cancel everything and take my chances! I never went to the CT Scan and cut the doctors visits. I knew who my go to person should have been in the first place, Mei-Lin! She has been treating me for my ailment on my ears ever since and currently, its getting much better while also treating my achilles injury. Those of you who are hesitant about acupuncture, I will say, it does work because I am living proof of it! Years ago, I was a powerlifter who hurt my shoulder and the only treatment that helped me was through acupuncture! I dont know what happened to that person so this is why I am a believer!!!!!! My wife also gets treatment from Mei-Lin for her back and hips. Years ago, my wife had a knee replacement surgery too. We have a lot to look forward to for our wellness needs now that we have Mei-Lin Maunakea!!!!!!!
