Its great for hunting and fishing stuff. Also hot sauce. I only seen the downstairs. Those are not my thing. They did have some great signs and some awesome candy. The best thing downstairs was the penny pressing machine!!!! I miss those. So that was the most exciting thing for me.

Cabelas / bass pro shop. Same company! People should be taking their kids here - it’s like a free zoo

Went shopping for camping backpacks, because the website makes it seem like they have a good selection of a variety of brands, including Kelty and Osprey.Building is confusing to get to, though exterior and parking lots are nice. Once inside, I had to ask for directions to the Camping department because the sign is behind a massive aquarium thats in the middle of the store.They had 3 Ospreys at 50L and the rest were smaller hydration and/or day packs. They didnt have any Keltys, and the only packs over 50L were Ascend brand.The selection was a disappointment. They had a wider range of hammocks than backpacks.While I was looking at the bags, one employee walked past me twice, barely looked at me, wouldnt make eye contact, didnt greet me or offer assistance.The only employee in the entire store that gave me a good impression was the guy at the bottom of the escalators trying to get me to sign up for something.

By far the worst place to buy firearms. Little to no help if you go in or call. All of the men behind the counter look absolutely miserable and seem as if your are bothering them by making a purchase. Also forget the typical 3 day wait. Always a min of 7 days and up to 14. Save yourself the headache and cook county tax and go elsewhere.

Even though I dont get out this way often I do enjoy going to most all Cabelas. The store is really big with a huge selection of just about anything you would need. The store looks to be stocked up nicely and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. I will say the people who walk around with no masks looking for arguments are ridiculous. No one likes to wear them but just do it for others! Overall love Cabelas and hope to be back soon.

In general I love shopping for gear at Cabelas as they have a great selection, but regarding this store specifically, I do NOT shop here. The Sun Prairie location is only a couple miles farther of a trip for me, so much better to go there than pay that ridiculous 10% IL sales tax rate. Anyone living near Rockford or farther north would be smart to make the trip to the WI location.

Great store with lots of cool stuff. Sometimes the shelves are empty, or close to empty in items varying from fishing lures, and such, to ammunition. In my opinion, also the most expensive retail prices of any fishing equipment, and guns. The guns have an added Cabelas tax on them, on top of the insane Cook County tax. The gun selection used to be much better. The boat section is pretty awesome, it makes me want to trade in my Ranger almost every time Im here. Staff is usually very knowledgeable about the items. Very nice, very clean bathrooms. Recommend shopping here ONLY during sales. Retail prices are horrible, then a Cook County tax on top of that. No way Jose

Again you continue to disappoint. Your own website lists Remington Thunderbolt 500 round boxes at a sale price of $40.99 with a limit of 5 boxes. I woke up early at my home in Tinley Park, Il to go to the closest store listed with the product i wanted. Drove 63 miles to get there. Made it to the counter and was asked what i was looking for. Told the clerk I was looking for 4 boxes of Remington Thunderbolt 500 rounds. He happened to have it on his cart. Then said Ill give you ONE. I pointed out to him the ad capped purchases at 5 and I wanted 4. He reiterated I could have ONE. Your ad is attached. Miraculously while i was looking for magazine loaders for 22 cal rifle magazines I saw Maglula Uplula 38 cal-45 cal loaders in at least 4 colors- an item I had ordered from you and waited over 2 months for delivery- to be told that they were ON A TRUCK. Ultimatly after 2 tries to order that was cancelled and promises of gift certificates never appeared. Obviously your business profile believes that you do not care about customer satisfaction but how many dollars you can get in the till. Good bye to you and Bass Pro

Nice atmosphere, my son said, this is a mans favorite toy store. Customer service was really great. Staff was greeting and pleasant throughout the store. Signage was big, but looked cool, very visable from.anywhere in the store and really helped direct you to the department you wanted.

Awesome store. Something for everyone. Great customer service. Id give it 5 stars but the cook county criminals put additional taxes on firearms and ammunition. Not the stores fault and they did ensure I was aware of the extra tax before before you make a purchase

Precovid my family and I use to go out to Cabelas to explore all the fun stuff they have. Our first trip after Covid, we took our daughter to see the aquariums and she LOVED it!! Whether looking for something specific or just want a place to explore, this is the perfect place for the whole family!

I love this location and Oscar in the fishing department. He is always willing to help, suggest tackle, and look into finding product not on the shelf. It means a lot to see him and know Ill be taken care of!

Huge store with an awesome selection of outdoors/hunting items. The taxidermy on display is pretty gnarly. I’m pretty sure the whitetails are from Illinois. Gun selection is pretty solid. Fishing section is very nice. Camping section is great. Clothing selection is abundant. There’s a little something for everyone.

Most employees are very polite and well informed. The overweight guy at the gun counter is beyond rude and should be retrained or fired. He needs to be reminded who pays his salary. Seriously, management knows who this is. Do your jobs or stay home.

The staff at the boating center were professional, courteous and easy to deal with- recommend them to anyone!

I love shopping here! I really enjoy the atmosphere of the store.Scouts came in for a tour and they seemed very accommodating.They moved their clearance section to most of upstairs and have a good size inventory.No more fresh roasted nuts. Disappointing, but Im sure itll be back soon.

Overpriced, but youre paying for the experience. Helpful staff and tons of cool stuff in the store, but you can get better stuff cheaper if you know where to look. Also, thanks to Illinois gun laws and Chicago taxes I wouldnt shop here unless it was my only choice for weapons and ammo.

Will not come back to the Cabelas in Hoffman Estates. Went in looking for camping gear and was ambushed by a timeshare salesman who would not take no for an answer. We found a great price on a queen mattress for $49.99 which we thought made up for the rude salesman- until we got to the register. We were told the price was $67.00. The cashier said we must have looked at the wrong tag, and was also rude. So we decided to wait on the purchase and check online when we got home. The correct price was $49.99. So we ordered online Xtra $8.00 for shipping, but worth not having to deal with the staff. Shopping in any store is not what it used to be.

Just stopped in because Id never been there before, and the staff was both polite and helpful! I ended up making a small $35 purchase that the employee assisted me with for 20 minutes and then answered questions about a product for 30 minutes that I bought elsewhere, I was very impressed!

This is usually my favorite outdoor store of all time (even above Bass Pro, which I know is the sister store), but was somewhat disappointed this trip. What I was looking for was not in stock, selection for other things has been decreased, the associates were not quite as helpful as I recall from before, layout has changed (no more Bargain Cave?!!), and not as many sales days before Fathers Day. Not going to make a final judgement off this latest visit, but hopefully my next visit will be more like what Im used to for Cabelas.

Was searching online for lighted nocks that was american made dependable and has replacement batteries. Did you know lumenok is all of them and you selection is far none. Best selection I have seen yet and to support american made and made in Illinois. Thank you

You go in to buy a part for your boat a place that sells boats but yet on a Sunday you cant buy a part for your boat because they have them back in where they fix the boats and no one works in that area on Sundays never again you lost out on some big bucks I went somewhere else and bought what I needed. You put that would be nice if you put that on your information on your website so people do not have to make a trip for nothing that was 102 miles around trip.

They are really friendly and nice here. Lovely aquarium in the middle to look at. Great selection of beef jerky and kits to make your own.Easy way to buy and sell guns. Great selection of used and new guns too.

I don’t ever write reviews, but Cabela’s staffs were so nice I had to write one.I had the best experience there for getting my first firearm. They were so helpful and so kind in helping me choose my first firearm. They made the procedure less scary. I would recommend 100% if you are looking to purchase firearm.Products are great and reasonably price.

I stopped into this location and to my surprise it was stocked and clean. I stop here every once in awhile but not recently due to poor staff service and not a wide range of stuff but its gotten a lot better. Keep up the good work guys definitely will stop back in

Cabelas has a huge selection and decent prices. If you go upstairs theres a small infrared shooting gallery game that you can buy token to play. Big walk through fish tank downstairs, waterfall. Taxidermy animals all over.

This store offered many different things like fishing, hunting, and camping items. They had a mini aquarium and an animal exhibit. Will come again.

My step father came into purchase a firearm today and the older gentleman who was assisting him was very rude. English is my step father’s second language, therefore, he was having an issue understanding the verbiage on some questions and the worker was annoyed the entire time. He had a problem with my step father calling me for a translation. Not only was he unprofessional but he was disrespectful. He racially discriminated him. I have been a costumer at this location for many years, but I will take my business elsewhere moving forward. I was expecting a lot more from Cabela’s.

Made a trip to Illinois to visit family. My Grandkids love this place and so do I. My wife and I stayed next door in the Holliday Inn Express so it was right there. Good selection of everything.

Always clean. Helpful employees whom seem to enjoy their jobs. Shelves are well stocked throughout the store. Love the fact that they now sell some of the best coffee in America.

Still an ok place to go for outdoor goods, but Bass Pro has ruined the Cabelas legacy. Just dont expect to buy licenses or tags here...how long does it take to get a printer replaced or repaired?...so far months.

Orders take for ever from store to store. It’s taken three weeks longer than the promised date. There is no way to track orders from store to store so don’t do it. Buy it somewhere else. Customerservice can only tell you it’s been shipped. They tell you they are sorry but it’s not the employee it’s a bad system and management doesn’t care.Update. 5/4/21 Called on order. I was told to call back every few days. I still don’t have the item.

I was shopping at Cabelas and very unexpectedly approached by a representative for Bluegreen Vacations. The have a semi permanant looking booth setup right by all the mounts (...where families tend to look around). Nothing like diluting the company brand by associating with a scummy timeshare company. If they are willing to pitch timeshares how much do they really care about customers?

Went to find gearing for a hiking trip for my wife. Neither of us knew much about what was needed and Allison and Trudy both spent close to an hour talking and giving us advice, helping try on different packs, etc.100% recommend. Super friendly and helpful staff that are happy to go above and beyond.

This place is accurate for people who like fishing, hunting among others.

Its not their fault, but much of the ammo is out of stock. I couldnt find the hearing protection I was looking for that they had on their website. Im not a fan of having staff ask me to sign up for anything. Ill come to you if I want whatever your pitching. Its still a fantastic store and Ill be back again and again.

I love this place. The story is super clean and organized, with a terrific selection of products out there. Theres a lot of great value all around and youll surely walk out of there with a smile on your face.Most importantly theyve got a super helpful staff who is very knowledgeable in the products they sell. The outdoors is definitely a passion of theres. If youre trying to make improvements to your hunting gear collection or add stuff to your camping gear, this is the place to be.

Always great customer service when I go, only reason I give 5 stars is because I feel as though their payment system is a bit outdated. They do not accept Google or Apple pay. I also recommend taking pictures of prices since they take a while to do a price check at the counter.

A real good change from the everyday mundane. They have an old fashion simulated gun range for the children and for the adults that are still children at heart, so take a few quarters. Tried to purchase 3 items. One item wasn’t reading the sku and the cashier spent over 5 minutes trying to enter it only to bring a supervisor who tried again. Here I am waiting almost 10 min and asked if they can ring in the price so I can go as I am in a hurry. They wouldn’t. No urgency, no common sense especially when their prices are higher than other places for the same products. Nice store but lacking in customer service at the checkout.

The kids you are very nice, they are oriented on child nature understanding. The store has a very good selection of womens hats. It reminded me Field museum, but very small version of it. Where parents can also do shopping. It is a very nice combination!

Handicapped accessible parking. Handicapped accessible entrance. Staff is friendly, polite, knowledgeable. Firearm ammunition is scarce most likely due to people hoarding it due to covid and other concerns. All shotgun ammunition larger than birdshot was completely sold out.
