At anytime of the day it can SEEM crowded but, it isnt a problem HERE. Everyone is here to workout in&out. It is a bit small, there are many ways to get a great workout in. I used to frequent the Bayonne location and the equipment here seems to be newer or of better quality. It is a tight 2 floor gym dont come here without a workout plan youll slow everyone up.

I was on the fence giving this place a 4 star over a 3-star rating. But to what others have said, how can you rate it less than 4 stars for a $10/mo gym?, holds true. There is a value here. I’ve been a member at a number of other local gyms here and in NYC but had to try PF. My honest review and thoughts:PROS:• The staff is friendly and helpful. Especially the trainers that I’ve seen working with members there. They’re solid.• The brand is more me than the muscled-headed gyms around• The location is central in town. Though no parking or a citibike hub is nearby which is fine since my warmup is the run there and back.• Its nearly 24-hrs/day open means there are no excuses for not going – even when crowded – go later.• It has the basics for a full body workout and cardio.• Its freakin’ $10/mo!CONS: (At least for me but maybe not you)• The layout compared to other PF gyms is a bit odd and small. It is two floors, but the equipment is spaced very close together. Normally, I wouldn’t mind but in a COVID era, I don’t like it. Especially, when members hover over me waiting on the machine or treadmill during a set. I’ve even been sprayed with sweat while running on the treadmills – not kidding.• You’re above a pizzeria and smelling garlic knots during a workout hasn’t helped my goals for leaning out. Shame on me but I’ve been known to grab a slice or two on the way out.• The crowd meter is a joke. I’ve gone there during peak hours and the meter reads 2/3 level however, you’re waiting and waiting and waiting to get a planned workout in. This slows me down and often I vary the routine based on what equipment I can get on which is not on-goal. Honestly – I’ve learned to go off-peak (mid-day) and just work later to be more efficient.• The stretching area is a 4x6’ landing next to front desk. Basically, there is no stretching area. As I mentioned before, the equipment is too packed-in so you’ll need to stretch at home. Seriously PF, get rid of the skin-cancer booths and layout some mats there.• There are no mirrors next to the free weights. When I read this complaint in another review, I laughed because I figured he’s a lunk who wants to pose. BUT he’s totally right. It’s the first time I’ve been in a gym with no mirrors! This hurts your form during various free-weight routines.• People sitting on equipment using their phones. This drives me batty and is the norm these days – yet it seems more common at PFs than other gyms. This is where a staff member was very helpful once.In the end, I decided to bite the bullet and splurge on a premium gym. My health is worth it. Kodos to PF for giving me the motivation.

Good gym for the price. Even at peak times it isnt uncomfortably crowded which is great. Everyone that works there is nice, too. My only complaint is the temperature - Im warm before I start working out and have ended my workouts early because its just so hot in there. Hopefully itll get cooler inside once the seasons change. If it doesnt, I might join another gym.

As early in the morning as I went, it was quiet, clean, and had plenty of parking on the street. Cant say anything about normal daytime hours.The phone holders on the machines dont fit my Note 10+, but thats my own fault for having a phablet.

We spent a month with my family in Hoboken, one of the fiesta things we did was a Family breakfast in this place, it was great, generous portions, well served, proffesional servers and the food was just delicious. We stayed for a while and visited several other places, but so far this guys know what they are doing, it seems to me they have been quite a long time since everything just works flawless. If you want to observe how a restaurant should be run, this is the place so far.

Billing IssueThe people who work at this Planet Fitness in Hoboken keep telling me I need two cards on file. I have one card on file and it works fine so I do not see a need to put another card on file.I dont feel comfortable putting two cards on file.

It’s nice and you can get a work out through, it’s just the waiting lines because of covid guidelines are annoying. Sometimes the workers don’t check on the people waiting outside. I had to ask two times in the past if they were at capacity and they weren’t yet people formed a line outside. I guess it isn’t their fault but at the same time a check here and there outside wouldn’t hurt.- note* the crowd odometer is incorrect every time I’ve planned to go it wouldn’t be full all the way and I’d still have to wait outside :/

Planet fitness and their employees have been going above and beyond with their cleaning and Covid procedures. They enforce when they are at capacity and are constantly cleaning everytime Im there. Yesterday I saw two employees on their hands and needs scrubbing the steps. Today I saw an employee standing on the windowsill dusting the window frame.Keep it up!

If you enjoy being constantly harassed by work staff for every small thing you do this is the place for you! Staff isn’t there to make you feel welcome and have a good experience, they are there to correct you vehemently every chance they get. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else. There’s a reason they require a back account and routing number to sign up. So many people end up leaving and not paying.

I needed to edit my feedback because after reading all the feedbacks, I noticed that people are being inaccurate with what they write here. It seems like it is either scams, or people providing feedback to the wrong location. Just to confirm this is my feedback for the Hoboken location.Cleanliness is my favorite: ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Customer service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Machines:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. They are all in perfect conditions. I once noticed that the fabric of the arm of one of the machines was ripped, but next day it was fixed. I had to mention to one of the staff members that it was nice they took good care of the machines.The environment among the employees is really friendly and they provide you with what you are promised.I am the kind of person who never answers unregistered calls, so if anyone wanted to have the memberships cancelled when the gym closed, the customer should have contacted or leave evidence of the contact. The best excuse now is that the gym never contacted the customers. There’s thousands of customers. I cancelled the AMC membership when it all started cause I knew that they would start charging again once reopened.There is a gym two blocks from my house (not PF), but I’d rather commute due to all these good things. First day back after COVID-19 reopening:Crowd Meter:I went when the Crowd Meter was just under 1/2 full. There was about 7-10 people on the upper floor and a handful on the lower floor. Personally, that feels like the highest number of people I think I’m comfortable with—I don’t think I’ll go if the Crowd Meter is higher than half (20 people in one room feels like too much)Masks:Only saw one person not wearing a mask. Masks are supposedly not required on the cardio machines, but everyone I saw was wearing them anyway which made me feel safer.Sanitation:Same number of spray bottles as before, but with new stickers. I saw employees walking around and sanitizing. Feels like it’s mostly for show though since—from the little I know about coronavirus—is that it mostly spreads by air and there’s low chance of catching it from physical surfaces. (But I’m not a doctor, so don’t take my word for it)Machines:Less than half the machines are marked out of order for “Social Fitnessing”.Overall:The main downside I saw was that the windows do not open, so it truly is an enclosed space. I’ll probably stick to outdoor cardio and come to PF for a quick as possible weight circuit, and only when the Crowd Meter is below half. That said, in my opinion, it’s much better than having no gym.

This is a very good gym, I à was si happy when it finally reopened. The machines are good, the place is clean, but really makes this gym great is the staff. Sammy and Daniel during the week, Jason and Howard during the weekend. They’re great people, always ready to help. They make every workout a pleasure.

Ive been going regularly since they reopened in September. Morning staff on weekdays and weekends have been great. Especially Jason om the weekends. I have made every saturday am since restart. There was a single delay with opening up on one Saturday but that was only for 5 minutes. Staff have been very professional and helpful

No judgments and also no functioning equipment. Should be renamed planet brokeness. Ive tried to upload pics of all the broken equipment signs but it looks like Planet Fitness is blocking them. Rather I should email them in order to have a conversation about having more than 30% of the stair masters functioning. Instead of just fixing them. Id offer to hire a repairman and get a bill credit if it woild fix the issue. Really getting tired of having to compete like a savage with 5 other people to use 1 or 2 stairmasters.

Came to acquire about a membership and Take a tour of the facility and felt welcomed the moment I stepped in . The staff in the front Desk was very generous . I was taking on a tour by Eileen & she was very professional and sweet . The gym was very clean compared to others I’ve been too . The assistant manager was kind enough to offer me a day pass to try out the gym before signing up . Overall a great experience and I plan on signing up tomorrow .

They restarted charging my account without notifying me, which is illegal. As soon as I saw the charges, i walked in to request a refund. The employee directed me to the toll-free number, who directed me to call the club manager, who assured me he was sorry that he couldnt help me. Go team!

I was just charged for my membership when I wasn’t even aware they reopened. And when I called to cancel and ask for my refund. The MANAGER AT THE HOBOKEN NJ location said “NO” it was against his policy. I have asthma and during this pandemic I should be allowed my own money back! This is unheard of!!! I will not workout with a mask on while having asthma, that is a health risk in its own. And you can’t get a hold of anyone in corporate to help. This gym is not worth going. Give me my money back!!!! That’s not right!!!!As an add on, I spoke with customer services in corporate and they said that Andrew the manager at the Hoboken location has the power to give me back my refund no questions asked. And when I call to address that he hangs up on me. All fingers point to him. It’s not right your charging me a fee for not being there when my health doesn’t allow it. Very surprised and disappointed by the unprofessionalism by Planet Fitness, particularly at the Hoboken location and from its manager, Adrian.I signed up for my membership on 3/4/20 and my last visit at the location was 3/10/20, right before everything shut down because of the pandemic.On 9/17 they charged me for the membership fee, and today, 10/1 for the annual fee WITHOUT ANY notice that they had reopened and will begin charging me.When I spoke to Adrian and requested to cancel my membership and refund for the charges, I was denied the refunds bcs of their policy. I explained my situation to him and also that I was NEVER CONTACTED about the Hoboken location reopening. He said he couldve refunded me if I called on 9/17 or a few days after, but he cant anymore. I asked him why wasnt I notified of their reopening and that they will resume billing? Why is Planet Fitness expectation that customers check their accounts every day in order to realize they are getting charged and can go back to the gym?? I didnt check my account on 9/17. But I did today, 10/1. And today, they charged me again for their annual fee, EVEN though I told them I want to cancel my membership. Where is the rhyme and reason to anything they say?When I questioned why wasnt I notified of their opening and that they will resume charging, he told me the Mayor of New Jersey opened things in September (yes, Im not kidding - he expected people to know the Hoboken Planet Fitness location reopened because the mayor announced some businesses can begin to open in September). He then apologized that Planet Fitness marketing department dropped the ball on letting customers know about their reopening and billing customers. He also said that I should have kept their policy in mind (Yes, even me, who joined the gym in March 2020, went there 3-4 times, and then everything shut down bcs of COVID, and I was never contacted by them from April- October). Had I not checked my account today, I would never have known this location reopened and is billing me.I understand there are policies in place, but Im absolutely shocked at the incredible lack of judgment and reason from Adrian. He can refund customers, but literally CHOOSES not to do so. And whats worse is that Planet Fitness as a business doesnt respond to this either and can care less about customers and their health.2020 is not a regular year and Planet Fitness policies should be amenable to this. Instead, we have a manager on a power trip blindly enforcing policy at the risk of customers health and comfort. Might as well have a monkey run the franchise.This horrible interaction left a sour taste. I will never be returning to Planet Fitness and URGE others to go elsewhere. So many options in JC and Hoboken where they wont steal your money.

This gym is a good introduction to gyms in general. The subscription is fairly cheap and they have a non-intimation culture which makes this a comfortable place to exercise. This particular location isnt too crowded, the staff is friendly, and the facility is very clean. They have the massage chairs (you need the black card for this) which I like to use after my workout. Overall, I have had very good experience working out here.

Nice workout spot. They recently added a bunch of new equipment and reorganized the layout of the gym. However, there is much less room in the free weight area to work out and its pretty annoying.They fixed this issue a bit. Theres more room now.

I’ve only been in a handful of times since the reopening back in September. Safety protocols seem to be in place. Just a heads up — make sure that you get there early enough in the afternoon otherwise you’ll be waiting on line to get in ( a small price to pay during these troubled times).

Canceling membership. Pros: The equipment itself is good quality. The 30 minute resistance weight training area as you enter is well thought out. The cardio equipment is good quality also, and the staff is polite, but imo a gym has to feel inviting. Working out -exercising is 80% psychological. The decor is dismal, not well thought out and un-inviting. Dark purple wallpaper and steel plates screwed on walls without a single mirror defeats the purpose. You go to the gym to feel good, and for results. Without a single mirror you can’t track your progress and know what you’re doing. You just kinda use the machines hoping what you’re doing is actually working. I get the “no judgment” hook for $10, but Most people want to track their progress as they’re working out and feel good about it as they go, that’s the purpose of exercising. Like hey I’m doing good and feel good, I like exercise! Put some fresh white paint and a few mirrors where needed, doesn’t cost much, and you’ll find members a lot more satisfied, excited and eager to work out here. If this matters to you. If not, $10 can’t beat it.

Ive been a member for over a year. The Hillsborough location was a lot bigger and had a few more machines than this location like the stair climber for one. But this location is clean. I moved over here form the Downtown Brooklyn location, which was great. Compared to that one, the Hoboken location is much smaller, and much more packed with people, with slightly fewer machines. I am a little disappointed, but I guess you still cant beat that price. Its not the best gym, but probably the one with the most value for money.

I went to this location yesterday for the first time , and I was highly disappointed, you would think Hoboken would be fancy but total opposite, it was small dirty and stinky , also to my surprise when I came out I had 6 bites on my body 4 on my arm and 2 on my back , I am now freaking out and hoping I didn’t bring any bed bugs into my home . This gym is small and cramped with a terrible layout. I went during an off peak hour and still had to wait to do sets/jump in between someone else’s for a few of my exercises. Staff was subpar and unfriendly as well. I’ve frequented a few other Planet Fitness locations - this one is by far the worst.

Overall is it a very well kept gym and clean which is great, not too crowded. However, there is way too much cardio equipment. There is no need for 60+ cardio machines while there is bare minimum when it comes to weights and strength machines. This gym is missing essential equipment which is kind of a bummer.

Ive been to about 10 PF locations in the NJ/NY area and Hoboken is by far the worst. They need to move into a bigger building - every other PF location is at least 1.5 x the size. They have a small corner where they tossed a few ab mats and can only fit 3 people at a time. Every other location has a full section for mats where people can stretch and do core exercises. The upstairs is so small and gets beyond crowded even at 6am....They also need to buy some foam rollers ASAP. Id still pay for it, but make sure you get the black card because every other location is far superior to this one.
