I have a complex medical history and status. That being the case, I go to great lengths in choosing my doctors to include education, experience, specialties and patient interface.I’ve found Dr. Hong and his team exceptionally thorough and knowledgeable. I intend to remain his patient in the future. I find him to be empathetic, professional, understanding and resourceful. In short, he is a great part of my medical team. I highly recommend him and his practice. Three locations make it easy to be seen.

Excellent physician. Had neck and jaw pain for over 4 years and have been to so many doctors and so many tests and MRI. He diagnosed and treated me. I’m am 95% pain free. Who would have known connecting with a doctor that really cared would have given me so much relief. Thank you Dr. Hong.

The staff at the (Downers Grove location) in the front office are very polite and helpful. The Medical Assistants are professional and caring every single time I’ve been in the office, whether it be for a procedure or a regular visit. Dr. John Hong is fantastic, as well as his PA- Stacie. Ive been a patient of Dr. Hong for about 4 years. Im doing wonderful, I had radio frequency nerve ablation over 1 1/2 years ago and Im doing great. Im able to work a physically demanding job and have a life outside of work pain free. Highly recommend Gateway Spine & Pain to anyone feeling exhausted from pain and sleepless nights. His care for his patients is real and he takes time to listen and find solutions for your care.

I would fully recommend Gateway to anyone suffering chronic pain. Personally they gave me a new life, relitavely free of debilitating pain. The relief I have felt from their treatment is fantastic. Dr. Hong is a very caring physician. He listens to your concerns and discusses in detail the plan for your health care so you are part of the process. Have had lower back issues for a long time and Dr. Hong and the treatment he has provided have lessened the pain and enabled me to enjoy and do things I havent been able to do for a long time. Would recommend for all my family and friends. Very professional and caring staff also.

I am Bill Simmons not Mary Simmons. I dont know how in the world my wifes name is being used rather than mine. My experience with Dr. Hong and my epidural steroid shot was great. He does an excellent job. The only concern/complaint I have is that Dr. Hong is not available (except for two minutes) to answer my questions or concerns. He is off and running. Everything he does seems to work so I have no complaints in that area. I am just concerned that my problem resurfaced five months after my first shot and I am concerned about, and have concerns about, future treatments, whatever they may be.

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Hong and his associates at Gateway Spine & Pain. Dr. Hong is a brilliant doctor, and he changed my life - every single day of it - for the better. And hes not afraid to have the hard conversations about meds, and balancing overall health & pain management. PA Stacy is fantastic too. Ive been treating with Dr Hong & P.A. Stacie Wharton for some time. Im extremely satisfied with their method of treatment. Dr Hong is a great listener with outstanding bedside manners. Ive been seeing Doctor Hong for over seven years now. He listens and makes everything a partnership. He believes pain is a real problem and not just imagined, which is more than I can say about many doctors. In my 7th year under Dr. Hongs care! Cant say enough about how grateful I am to have found them ! He has brought movement back into my life. I have debilitating Rheumatoid Arthritis and cannot take medications (pills) due to gastric malabsorption. I currently have a pain pump implanted in my abdomen and inserted into my spinal column with a catheter! Very pleasant and courteous office staff led by an absolutely awesome DR!!

Dr. Hong very conscientious in his prescribing of pain meds and informative about treatment options. I have seen numerous Drs. for chronic pain, but Dr. Hong has achieved the best results with the fewest medications. Im very happy I found him.

Great practice!!!! hard to get into at times but that just means that there are alot of clients because the people associated with gateway are very kind smart and there to help people like myself who suffer make it so we suffer alittle less!!!!!! i would refer everybody and anybody that suffers from chronic pain to give dr hong a chance to help you wont regret it it and you will be pain free or expirience a break through in pain after your first visit!!!!

Dr. John Hong and his team of Nurses cure my back injury. I started seeing Dr. Hong in September of 2015 & on Veterans Day I got my first Cortisone injection on my lower back (L4 & L5 R. SI) is what I injured. It was still rough for me at that time, I still had my chronic back pain and was going through Physical Therapy. Honestly I was miserable. I got my 2nd Cortisone injection in February of 2016 and my back pain went away. I recovered quicker then the first time around, I knew what to expect the second time around and overall hes a great Doctor and his team of staff. There are people out there that have chronic pain but they wont have injections on their backs. If I got that pain again Im so grateful I know who to trust and go to. Thank you Dr. Hong

My experience has been the best. Dr.Hong has changed my life and managed my pain , I went from being non functional practicly bedridden. Dr.gave me the ability to relieve pain so I could push on to therapys. He has also helped through multiple complex pain issues .

Dr. Kalin is amazing. He is very understanding and takes his time to listen so he can really find out what is wrong.

He has helped my pain decrease quite a bit. Never gave up on trying to help you feel better.

Dr.Hong , has worked with me to cope and reduce the extreme pain from the damage do to an outbreak of singles,he gave me choses that did not include meds yes I Highly Recommended Him!!!!
