I have used this practice for more than 10 years with full confidence.However, I recently had quite a bit of delay and mix-up in communication. After weeks of waiting and frustrating phone calls, management and the doctor resolved my case quickly.

We have been using Hillsboro Eye Clinic for over 20 years. Weve brought our kids as they were growing up and the staff have always been wonderful. As weve gotten older, our eyesight has gotten worse and Ive found that having prescription reader glasses tend to be taken care of and less prone to becoming broken.We definitely love the hometown feel even though this business has grown to keep up with the changes to the Portland Metro area. Highly Recommend them for your eye care needs.

This clinic is great. I called first thing in the morning for an urgent appointment for my 5 year old and they were able to squeeze us in. From the receptionist to the technician to the eye doctor. Everyone was great and really put my 5 year old at east during a stressful eye situation. We left happy with healthy eyes.

Hillsboro Eye Clinic is the best eye clinic in all of Oregon. Professional staff and you are seen promptly.Dr. Chad Goins is our doctor. He is perfect! Always does a thorough exam and then explains everything. He also asks if we have any question regarding the exam. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Goins.

Excellent Service from Front Desk. Excellent Service / treatment from Drs Assistants. My only hold back from a 5 star, from my visit today, was ...I felt a bit rushed by the very Decorated Doctor Mary DeFrank. I was impressed by her background. I showed up a full half hour early for my exam replete with respect of others, needing to be seen. Not only did I feel a bit rushed by my MD that I saw today, ...for some reason, (And maybe it is because I dont really know her that well?), but I also felt some condescension, toward the end of my appointment. She was extremely helpful, replete with knowledge, but I guess I was comparing her bedside manner with Dr. Scott, whom I felt has an equally decorated history, and I felt his interpersonal patient skills were stellar. When my appointment was over with Dr. DeFrank...I am accustomed to Hearing something along the lines of (Are there any other Questions, Mr. Thomas?, etc). Instead, it felt like Mary abruptly left and was on her way. Just the wind of her lab coat. Honestly, it could have just been my perception. Sorry...just being real.

With all the cautions in place due to covid 19 I found Hillsboro Eye Clinic very professional in their receiving me as a new patient. My wait time was alot shorter than what I expected and the staff went over everything with me so I understood! Dr Garrette Scott at HIllsboro Eye Clinic is great. Very personable, answers all my questions and explains things well. He did my cataract surgery also and the surgery couldnt have gone better. I didnt feel a thing and had no pain or problems after the surgery at all.

Dr. Gaard has been excellent to irritate family. I have seen him twice now in 10 years for medical eye related issues. Both my mom and step mom had him for their cataract surgeries. He gave them the option of having corrective eye treatment at the same time leaving them to not have to wear glasses after the surgery. Many of my mothers friends drs, id not give that option them the option. I highly recommend this office.

I have been a patient since the 70s with Drs Helzerman and Goins because I have elevated eye pressure. Medication prescribed and used faithfully has resulted in good visual fields and minimal damage at my advanced age. Both doctors have been a pleasant, competent experience.

Hillsboro Eye Clinic has been taking care of my eyes for many years. My exams are thorough, any tests needed are done & when I need or want a new pair of glasses, their Opticians have a wide selection of frames & excellent service.

I probably could have posted a better review. However my experience with this location is one of neglect. I called 3 months prior to set up an appointment for my daughter. I got several messages back and forth only to find out about a week ago they dont even accept my insurance. Why couldnt they have told me that in a message 3 months ago? Thanks for wasting my time and keeping my daughter partially blind.

I’ve been a long time patient here and I’m extremely disappointed in the way it’s being run now. I was in a few months ago asking for a copy of my eye glass rx and I was told I needed to pay $20 for it. I can go on about how the eye assistant was rude but won’t. This clinic has really gone downhill.

Dr. Garret Scott is the reason I keep coming back to Hillsboro Eye Clinic, he also has a great staff assisting him.

I have been coming here for several years. The doctors are great however the check in system is a bit crazy. You self check in through a computer system that requires you to input your information every single time you come in. I will say that the folks who help with getting new glasses are always amazing.

I was having a problem with swelling and a bump on my eye. My eye doctor was not available so they referred me here. They got me in right away with Dr. Scott. I arrived early. Front desk helped me fill out new patient paperwork. As soon as that was done they took me right back. All the staff was very nice and helpful! I reallly liked Dr. Scott. He was thorough and took the time to explain to me what was going on and what my options were. Very good doctor. Thank you Hillsboro Eye Clinic.

I had a wonderful experience here with my son who is 7yrs old. Dr. Gard was great. All of the staff were kind and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone.

Picked up glasses and case for my 3 year old and walked out of the office with my child but no case because my wife was still in the office getting frames for our middle child. Wife and other child got in the car and we went home. Once home, no case. Called the office to see of it was still there. They said that another optometrist saw my 3 year old with the case in her hand when we left. They offered a hard case replacement, but would not give us the actual case and spare strap that came with her frames. I am surprised that the supervisor would be willing to lose the revenue (4 glasses wearers in our family and we replace frames yearly) instead of opening their display case and handing me the case and spare strap that came with my 3 year olds new glasses.EDIT:Thanks for the offer to try and replace the case and strap. It is unfortunate that we had to call several times, physically return to the office twice, and leave a one star review in order to get that offer. If your staff would have said Im sorry you cant find your case. We will look here in the office for it. In the meantime, we will contact our vendor and see if they will send a replacement. Or they could have given me the identical case and strap you have on hand in your display case and then tried to replace that case from your vendor. Instead they told us it was out of their hands.

From the moment I stepped in, every single person in that clinic was professional, with a smile on their face.they took their time to the tests and they were very thorough.even considering that I was 15 minutes late due to an accident on HWY 126 coming from Portland, they treated me as if I had been there 10 minutes before my appointment time.The facility is very clean and organized, the bathrooms are clean. I have long been a patient of the Hillsboro Eye Clinic and have always been very impressed by the professional yet at the same time personal service I get there. Never a complaint from me! And having two offices gives me nice options when I book an appointment.

My advice: Go ANYWHERE BUT HERE for Your eye care needs. Lousy work in my opinion, glasses they made for me actually worsened my vision, the doctor (Dr. Finley), was rude and compared me to a dog on my first visit, (seriously), stated that he was more worried about his reputation in dealing with my insurance, than my serious vision issues he admitted I have, and when I called to tell them my concerns, their office manager (Shannon) called me back and rudely told me they would not fix the glasses or see me there again, and that they had already informed my insurance of such, without ever talking with me to even attempt to try to remedy the situation. I was willing to see a different doctor, but they refused. Also, I had left a pair of expensive sun glasses there knowing they might dilate my eyes, and after three calls to ask them if they had found them, I never received a call back. I had left them on the counter in the exam room. They denied finding them, so I guess they sprouted legs and ran away. They showed ZERO Concern for my 149.00 loss. If you read some of their other one and two star reviews, I think youll see a pattern at this overrated, overpriced clinic.Long story short, if this is how they treat people, would you really want to do business there, or be their next casualty?! You decide.Good Luck!

Hillsboro eye clinic is a one stop convenience. Excellent optometrists and opticians. Dr. Defrank has been checking my eyes for 6 years, she is very knowledgeable and friendly. She did both of my cataract surgeries . I have nothing but great referrals to her.

Ive been going here for years. The staff always has been very responsive and respectful. The medical care and advice has been excellent with a we care for you attitude. Each time Ive been there they have updated equipment to assure that advanced medical device technology is available.

I have gotten exams and glasses before with decent service. Time came again to get glasses and this time I hadnt received them in the two week time I had been given. I called to check and was told they had to re-do them. I was told it would be one more week, and if I dont hear anything to call back in a week. I didnt hear from them and called again after a week, and was told they had more problems and check again in a week. After 5 and a half weeks they were finally done. When I came in for the fitting, I told the manager how unhappy I was and received a were sorry. I asked for a 10% discount ($50 - it was a $500 pair of glasses) for compensation and was told Id receive it. I let him know, I had no incentive to return if they werent willing to provide the discount. I never received it or heard again from them. Ive since then gone to Hillsboro Vision Clinic where my wife and daughters were going with great satisfaction over the years. I should have listened to my wife to begin with (she recommended Hillsboro Vision Clinic to me in the beginning). Since Ive gone to Hillsboro Vision Clinic, I received my glasses in just over a week (6 days). Much more professional.Ron.** Update **To Hillsboro Eye Clinics credit, today I received a check for the discount I asked for a year ago. Shannon wrote me a card apologizing and informing me they have implemented policies to help in the areas I had problems with. Im impressed with their response and wish them well.
