Great experience. Good atmosphere. Experienced and friendly staff. Was not looking forward to finding a new dentist, but I lucked out on the first try with this place.Very thankful for Dr. John Duro and Bronte fixing my annoying dental issues. I got two crowns as a couple of my teeth decided to break off and I had a couple cavities filled. Great work. Looks good and they even helped me save money as much as possible at the end of the day.

I suffer from a significant dental phobia. That being said, I have had the best experience with this office! Sahaj Nijjar is so wonderful, patient, and accommodating. He goes the extra mile to make me comfortable and on top of that, he really is a stellar dentist. Im finally starting to feel like I can smile again!

I am a dentist and came here as a patient. The staff is kind, courteous, and extremely proficient in their work. The quality of care I received was nothing short of outstanding. Dr.Maxim was knowledgeable and efficient, his assistant Bronte was fast and friendly and the hygienist Ashlyn was among the most gentle hygienists I have ever had the pleasure of receiving a cleaning from. I will be coming back as a patient. This is the kind of office any patient should count themselves lucky to be a part of!

I’ve been a long time patient at this office. Even when I moved, it’s hard to consider a new dentist office so I still take the drive out. I had a bridge that kept coming loose and Dr Duro was the first Dentist to really help support my situation many years ago and didn’t charge me what I couldn’t afford when other places felt like they were motivated to up charge. He’s really nice and caring to my dental care.Ashlyn was my most recent hygienist for my teeth cleaning and I haven’t been seen since before the pandemic… She was very gentle and efficient, I felt well cared and my teeth felt very cleaned up and fine tuned. She was careful and courteous, with delicate hands in my mouth—fantastic cleaning right here. I so appreciate the kindness and friendship at Hillsboro Modern Dentistry. Years go by and yet they still provide the best friendly care since I started coming here! Thanks all. 😊

We highly recommend this practice. The office is warm and welcoming. All of the dentists are knowledgeable, patient and kind. They even have my toddler excited to go to the dentist...ya, they are that good! The office manager is incredible to work with and all the support staff has always displayed impeccable customer service. We could not recommend this office more!

If you hate going to the dentist, this is the place that will make you change your mind. Not only will they work with your budget, but they also understand that not everyone has had consistent access to dental care, so theres none of that dentist shaming that can sometimes accompany a visit to the dentist.Ive been with this dental group in CA and OR, and across the board, consistent great service and great people. I had a tooth break, and not only were they able to get me in quickly, but in about 2 hours I had a new crown. They are gentle, compassionate, and really good at what they do.Everyone that Ive seen in my 2 visits has been pleasant, happy, and helpful (sorry I didnt ask for the names of the front desk folk, youre great!!) I especially want to shout out to Dr. Duro & Nicole -- I am a very anxious patient, and their calm, friendly demeanor really helped me get through what is generally something super hard for me. I appreciate my new tooth & I really really appreciate everyone here. Thank you Dr. Duro, Nicole, & the whole staff of Hillsboro Modern Dentistry!

Will definitely be going elsewhere. I had a small filling done just to be safe, so the decay didnt get any worse. Well, I got the filling done with one dentist, did the bite test and it felt off. So, we did it again to see what needed adjusted, the filling broke. Right then and there, within minutes of doing the filling. So, the dentist redid the filling, we did another bite test and it felt off again. He did two adjustments and it still felt off and finally he basically said Id get used to it. By the next day, my whole jaw was sore from the bite being off, so I went back and had a different dentist do the adjustments. Still felt a little off, basically was told Id get used to it again. Now, only months later, the whole filling broke again because of the bite being off. Not worth the time and money to go there.

I have major dental anxiety and this office has been amazing! They have been very patient. I went into them for my initial new patient appointment and dental cleaning & amazingly I was able to schedule my Wisdom teeth extraction at the same location along with some filling work! They are all extremely skilled and amazing to deal with. Shout out to the entire crew for their kindness. Jeremy at front desk has also been amazing to deal with from day 1. From scheduling multiple appointments at my first appointment to providing extremely thorough and detailed documents showing my insurance coverage and what the final due balance was. I highly recommend this office :) They also have super cute new patient gifts and big smiles always! Big shout out to Dr. Duro and Dr. Nijjar. Thank you to you both for all of your help and extra care! My Dental cleaning was amazing and the team who assist with x-rays were very encouraging and sensitive to my needs. Thank you :)

My best ever experience at a dental office! Everyone was extremely friendly, caring, and empathetic to my situation. I especially appreciated Mackenna and Dr. Maxim!My first visit to the Hillsboro Modern Denistry office and it was outstanding. I went in for a standard check-up and x-rays with plans to return for a cleaning at a separate time. Instead, all my needs were met during that visit including x-rays, exam, cleaning, an unexpected filling, and time to address an issue with some missing molars that I had cracked several years ago.I have a small mouth so I hate x-rays and Im not very fond of getting my teeth cleaned either. Mackenna was incredible managing the x-rays being gentle, patient, and talking me through everything she was doing. Dr. Maxim followed her with his exam. He then provided an overview of my dental health, filled a cavity, and even cleaned my teeth! Ive never had a dentist clean my teeth before! Dr. Maxim did a nice job cleaning my teeth and did the cleaning so that I could get it done during that visit. What great service!!!In addition, Kirsten reviewed my benefits and helped develop a plan for addressing my missing molars with implants. The time she took to explain how my benefits work and show me my overall out-of-pocket expense was very helpful.I never felt as if services and procedures were being pushed on me. I appreciated the interest in addressing all of my concerns including cost and openly discussing all options. Everything was so transparent and I always felt my dental health was the priority.I love this dental practice and plan to continue with them for a long, long time!!!

Dr. Pagan and his assistant were fantastic! Very professional, kind, and knowledgeable. Hillsboro Modern Dentistry never disappoints.

Fiancé called to schedule a cleaning, they informed her of the new member deal that includes cleaning, exam, and X-rays. What they do not tell you is that when you schedule, it is only for the X-rays and exam and you will have to come back for the cleaning. Also an extra $40 for fluoride… staff was kind, but that only goes so far…UPDATE: after the review, the dentist came in and did the cleaning himself, and the benefits coordinator informed us that she saw the review and apologized for the confusion, whether it was the coordinator or the hygienist being over booked, they did right their wrongs.

Very highly recommend this dental office Mackenna and Tessa are both a pleasure to work with.

THE best dentist and staff I have ever encountered. They are unfailingly courteous, cheerful, polite, and concerned about their patients well-being. I moved some distance away but I STILL make the drive when I need dental work, because they are worth it! They are a Dental Practice with a Heart, and are involved in many good causes, which *also* makes me feel happy to go there.

This has truly been the best office I have ever been to. From the moment you walk in to the moment you are walking out the door, you feel cared for. I have always had dental anxiety but this team does a great job with making you feel comfortable and safe.

I have never been to this office, and I’m honestly not one to ever write a review, but I feel compelled to on behalf of my mother. My mom came home last night with the biggest smile I have seen in a long time (and no, she didn’t have a new pearly crown she was flaunting). Since covid started a year ago, she’s really lost all outside connections (other than her kids of course). But today, she came home and told me how wonderful her dental office is. But most importantly, how sweet one of the staff members is, named Tess. She said not only did she go over finances with her, and help her afford her next steps in her treatment, but she stayed in the room and had a 40 minute conversation with my mom. She listed to her talk about her family, her job, her pets, her past. She listed to my mom ramble on about politics and government. The bottom line is SHE LISTENED and engaged in conversation, human interaction, and kindness that my meant the world to my mother. So Tess (and I really hope she got your name right) THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR MAKING MY MOM SMILE.

I’ve never had such a wonderful dental experience. Dr. Duro and his team are absolutely wonderful. Dr. Duro really cares about his patients and his crown work is the best around. Same day crowns make it even better! And he really goes out of his way to make sure you’re comfortable and not in any pain. Sharon and Bronte are so sweet and really wonderful at their jobs. And Tessa has always been so kind and helpful. I really can’t say enough good things!

I absolutely love this place. The front desk staff is the best, always making me feel at home....literally I even wore my slippers to my appointment! Ok, that was by accident. I have been going here for three years and have never had a bad time. They treated my husband and myself so well. My husband has periodontal disease and they helped him through all the steps to get it under control. My husband also lost his dental insurance and they gave us options to help out during this crazy covid year.What can I say? They hire good people. Truly good people, and that’s the kind of place I want to support.shout out to Becca at the front desk specifically! She is so helpful, so sweet, and has such an infectious laugh and I find myself chatting with her way past my appointment time! Whoops!

This is a bit overdue, but growing up I had enough bad experiences with Dentists that I swore off going altogether. When I finally decided it was time to go as an adult here I was practically shaking in the chair with Dr. Duro. He changed my perception practically on day one, and I can not say enough great things about his staff & him. He understood where I was coming from, he takes his time in explaining things, and genuinely cares for his patients’ experience and comfort. If you’ve been holding out on going to a dentist, visit Dr. Duro, you will not regret it. That’s coming from someone who went almost 10 years avoiding Dental offices!

Best dental visit hands down! I needed a lot of treatment and the front office explains VERY CLEARLY what insurance will cover and what my out of pocket would be. This never changed throughout each procedure. I have referred multiple friends and family there as well and they have all had the same experience. If you need a new office, GO HERE! :)

I highly recommend Modern Dentistry! The level of service they provide is the best I have had by a dentist or doctor in years. The entire staff is friendly and courteous. I have had 3 fillings and 2 cleanings all done by Sharon & John. Both are friendly, polite people who really care about your well being and comfort with your teeth.One of my fillings was bothering me and they scheduled a follow up visit to fix it at no cost to me. In a crowded, busy office John calmly gave me his undivided attention to ensure I was happy with my filling and it didnt cause me any further discomfort. Every visit I have had has been this way. They are great!

If there is a 0 star I would definitely give it for the inconvenient customer service. Before you start any treatment, make sure to get the exact bill because magically their system break overnight. I had 2 sessions for deep cleaning. I paid it all from my first visit but when I went to my second session, I was asked to pay an extra 192$. When asked them why, they told me than my second provider didnt pay so I asked for the bills so I can contact them and found out. Then the receptionist told me : oh no sorry that was our system overnight changed your bill and we have 2 systems that did not communicate with each other for some reason. Thats word by word what I was told. Just make sure to check your bill before you do any work 😉

Had an awesome experience here. Probably the first doctor, let alone dentist, who was upfront with how much treatment would cost + gave me copies of all my x-rays. Kudos to the front office and the friendly staff!

Everyone was very friendly and engaging, really felt comfortable the entire time I was there. Dr. Duro was amazing, he was very friendly and professional. He was thorough in explaining to me what was going on in my mouth and showed genuine concern for my health and comfort. He was also very quick with the procedure and I couldnt be happier with the results. Im going back in for a root canal asap and Im looking forward to it because I know Ill be in good capable hands with them.

Last week I had a dental emergency. My crown popped off, which ultimately needed to be replaced. I contacted Hillsboro Modern Dentistry and they were able to squeeze me in right away. Dr. Duro was by far one of the best dentists I have ever experienced. He is gentle, and possessed excellent bedside manner. His assistants were great as well. Highly recommended.

Dr. Duro is exceptional! Im very squeamish when it comes to dental work and Dr. Duro always makes sure Im comfortable. Hes kind, thoughtful and caring and always makes sure to explain everything he does and anything he recommends. The support team there is also wonderful and I feel like Im a valued patient whenever I go to Hillsboro Modern Dentistry!

Today I had an appointment at Hillsboro Modern Dentistry with Jacqueline Gambee. They were able to see me on time, address my concerns (upper left tooth pain), grind down my tooth for a bite adjustment, take my x rays, and do a cleaning in an hour and a half.Dr. Gambee was very lovely to work with!

I had a great feeling about this place on my familys first visit, but then I called with a concern about my 6 yr old gums and WOW! They got us in the same day, took a look, even did more x-rays and eased my worry about the swelling. This whole office is amazing!!!

I was thoroughly impressed. I stopped in - without an appointment - for emergency dental care. The team was very helpful and kind. I was seen immediately and was given great treatment. I so appreciate all that they did and cannot speak highly enough of them.

Today was my first visit to a dentist in much too long. After lots of online research, I settled on this practice, and couldnt be more satisfied with my choice. Every single member of the staff was kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Dr. Kim was so great and never made me feel bad about the condition of my teeth, never pressured me into any dental work I wasnt ready for. I was extremely impressed with all of the technology used here to make the visit less painful/intrusive.. the modern in the business name is actually accurate. I really couldnt have asked for a better experience considering my anxiety about these kinds of things.. FYI, this review was not solicited at all, just really happy/relieved for a good experience.

My boyfriend was having a dental emergency, but has no insurance. I called about every place in town until I was told to call Hillsboro Modern Dentistry. They got my boyfriend in an hour later, gave him a free exam, and scheduled a surgery for this weekend and put it all on an extremely affordable payment plan. Super happy with this place.

This was the best dentist Ive ever been to. Dr. Kim sat down with me himself to discuss any concerns and symptoms and what the treatment options were. I had the same-day ceramic crown made and it turned out great. The technician who made the crown made sure I was happy at each step, such as getting the color and shape right. They both addressed my by name during the procedure. The doctor took a final x-ray to make sure everything was good before sending me out. He asked several times if I had any questions and shook my hand before leaving.Id recommend Dr. Kim to anybody.

Everyone here was wonderful! I have crazy nerves when it comes to the dentist and as soon as I walked in I felt comfortable. The admin was super friendly and Dr. Duro is by far the best dentist Ive been to. Very good communication and care, I will not hesitate going back.

After going in today to establish as a new patient I was very pleasantly surprised by Dr. Duro & his team! I was only scheduled for xrays and a cleaning basically but after finding out I had a few (time consuming) things that needed to be addressed, him & his team were so friendly & efficient. I am so happy I decided to switch dentist offices 😊

This is a great dentistry! They gave my brother in-law and I BOGO on our new verniers...we each had one in the front tooth. Then they gave me a discount on more work they did for $860, and let me make payments with no questions asked. Nice people and good work as well!

My problem with this practice is that after being a patient for 2 years plus I never saw the same dentist twice. The turnover in dentists is a big concern to me and I left the practice because an office manager and a dentist who manages his or her office are two different and important things - I was concerned about a lack of overall clinical care and oversight. The hygienist was professional and office staff was very nice.

Never did get in to see these folks. I put in a contact through the request form on their site asking for an appointment & did not get a response.I then followed up over the phone & was told I would later receive a call from the lass in charge of scheduling....no luck there, either. Ill be taking my business elsewhere.If a company makes you jump through this many hoops just to get in the door, I can only wonder what sort of nonsense one would have to deal with after becoming a patient.

Unfortunately I have to write a negative review for Hillsboro Modern Dentisty. I had tried to work out my disappointment with their manager, Michael, but he was unwilling to do anything for me.I had been going to this dentist for about a year for my normal teeth cleaning. I loved my Hygenist Sharon. She was funny, caring and gentle. Last July the doctor (at the time) Dr. Morales said I had a small spot of decay along an old crown and thought I should replace it along with an old silver filling on another tooth. I went in for my procedure. Dr. Morales was neither caring nor gentle. He banged the drill around in my mouth and was irritated with me after 2 1/2 hours of me sitting quietly through the trauma of him reefing on my mouth because my numb face couldnt bite correctly. He informed me that I would be sensitive to heat and cold for a few days and sore. 2 weeks later I was still very sensitive and in pain. I went back in and he adjusted my bite saying that was the reason I was still in pain. Again, he slammed the drill around in my mouth without much care. When I left, I decided then I wouldnt be going back. I dealt with the pain that was still persistent. I thought about trying to find another dentist, but since I dont have insurance I knew that would be an expensive thing to do and I had just spent $1700 getting the new crown and overlay so I didnt have money for more xrays and dental work.In Dec. I got the call for my return for cleaning. Note that I never had a check up call from Dr. Morales to see if my sensitivity or pain had gotten better. I told the receptionist at the time how unhappy I was with Dr. Morales but they informed me that he had left and that the new doctor would be happy to see me and try to fix the issues with my mouth. Stupidly I agreed to come in. They did another set of xrays and the Doctor drilled on my teeth to try to adjust the bite again. The pain had gotten much worse at this point, but they saw nothing to suggest more decay or a bad root. Her work on me although was gentler, did not fix the pain, and was painful to go through. So again I vowed not to come back.By the end of march I was in so much pain that I had no choice. I couldnt afford another dentist and I felt they really should fix or find out what was wrong with me. So I called HMD up and got an appointment to come in. They couldnt see me the day I called, but I did come in the following Monday. I saw another Dr. Dr. Josh. They did more xrays and still didnt see anything on them to warrant more decay or a bad root, but the Dr. said he would still ask an endodonsist for a second opinion. I received another bite adjustment which was painful, and sent out with a promise that Dr. Josh would call me when he had heard from the endodontist. I never heard back. That Friday I had severe ear ringing and face numbness. So I went to my GP doctor. He said that bad dental work can cause things like TMD but he referred me to an ENT to make sure it wasnt something else.I visited the ENT who said yes bad dental work can cause TMD, we did a CT scan to verify, then I was referred to a dental TMD specialist.While I was waiting for my CT scan results it was time for my next cleaning. I went in for it, because as I stated, I do like the hygienist, shes very sweet. The new doctor (can you say revolving door) Dr. Stacey. barely looked at me and said, You need a root canal. I was like what? how do you know, you didnt do any new xrays and barely looked in my mouth. I couldnt run out of their fast enough.I contacted HMD to express my displeasure. He informed me that he would need to see letters from my doctor that said the bad dental work caused TMD. Which I provided my records to him. I explained all of the horrible experiences that I have had. I explained that my treatment for the TMD is going to cost over $6000 when it is all said and done. His only solution was for me to see their 2 new doctors, get a root canal from their corporate doctors, or have my xrays fwded to my new dentist. People should know how bad they are.
