Very helpful and friendly...never a long wait for my appointment. I would recommend the Pacific Eye Institute to family and friends.

Very competent staff and doctors. They are very strict w/ the Covid standards but that is probably because they work w/ a lot of older folks. I never have to wait too long, very organized and knowledgeable. They front office could be more polite and patience, but they have a touch job, so I give them a pass. Im 61 and have glaucoma.

The whole experience (not just the surgery) took a little longer than I expected but that being said, I now see 20/20!I have worn glasses ALL my life.And at the age of 67 I see wonderfully and colors are so much more vivid.

Pacific Eye Institute is a wonderful place to get professional eye examinations they are thorugh and use state of art technology to provide accurate diagnosis for your condition and explain it to you so that you can understand, the staff is kind and caring and very friendly, the same goes for the Doctors, I highly recommend Pacific Eye Institute for all your eye care needs.I have had my eyes worked on by many different doctors for many years so far Pacific Eye Institute has treated the best, I can only hope that their level of professionalism will continue to grow with the company.

I do like this office very much as a new patient I was greeted with friendly staff, especially Manny! Such a caring staff member! I was nervous as to my visit but the Dr. reassured me that I would be ok. I am not a fan with the new telephone service they have as they have stated that it would be worked on and possibly changed. You cannot get a hold of anyone in office the calls are filtered through a service center and can be on hold for hours as well as waiting for a call back with being held in line with your provided number. I just walked in much easier and again staff was very helpful and very nice.

I have to buy my eye drops here, and its always easy to get in and out quickly. The staff are very friendly and helpful!

This being the first time here, and i’m not even the patient (here as the dd-designated driver) i must say it’s spacious in the reception area so social distancing is well observed and the wait time…what wait time‽‽. parent was taken called to the back promptly.staff all seemed both helpful and courteous. and temperatures were taken on both of us 👍🏻 directly after entering the lobby.

I have been a patient at Pacific Eye Institute in Hesperia for a year. Due to my condition Im there on a weekly to monthly basis. The staff is always courteous and compassionate. Dr. Kim is the best! Hes empathetic and reassuring. Im grateful to have him as my doctor. . Ive been seen by other doctors and I can say they are all great!

The COVID requirements created a situation where we had to wait outside for a bit. Not enough seating and a little warm. I didn’t have to wait very long and was told that mornings are better for appointments as the back up builds a bit towards end of day. Once inside the process was smooth and the staff was wonderful.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes, and I feel as though I have the eyesight that I had when I was in my teens. I am 70 now and this was one thing I did that really made a difference in my quality of life. The people at Pacific Eye Institute could not have been more professional and courteous. I am just amazed at how well I can now see everything!

Terrible patient support. They dont return phone calls. Being seen 2 hours after your appointment time seems to be just fine with them. Cant recommend.

Been here a few times before this pandemic for my Mother. Now these people feel they can talk to you like a child being scolded. Unprofessional !! Dont try to talk to them. I tried Deescalation calmly but Bark orders and comply is all that she knows? Telling us medical instructions regarding How to use a mask when needing oxygen with COPD AND LUNG CANCER. YOU HAVE OXYGEN PUT THE MASK ON OVER YOUR MOUTH AND NOSE!! . Told me it was Law.. Really? ONCOLOGIST -PULMONARY doctor they are not . PORTABLE OXYGEN is not a good supplier in the first place.Takes her Days to recover from being deprived of more oxygen. How dare this staff. Switched her to 3 rooms - she is having a hard time . The health of others I guess is more important than hers here - thats what she said mumbling to herself as she walked away keeping other people safe. Didnt ask if she was vaccinated. Guess that Doesnt matter when you BARK AT PEOPLE. Also She told us we could wait outside in 90 degree humid weather with a breathing medical condition how kind of her. Another staff member behind counter said We wear these for 8 hrs I DONT CARE, YOU DONT HAVE COPD WITH LUNG CANCER. Then this person comes back to ask her name. To Write a report? When Dr. Smith asked if she was vaccinated and she said yes- he instantly was ok with her situation. This unnamed staff member was rude out of her way rude never asked about vaccine then seemed vendictive by asking my mothers name. If you have had problems with people dont continue your attitude with other PATIENTS. THIS WAS MUCH MORE THAN BEING DIRECT OR FORWARD... SNAPPING LOUD AND PUSHY FALSE INFORMATION AND HEALTH DIRECTIVES vs. explanation asking questions guiding understanding Compassion. Wanna bet if a report was put into file it reads I was doing my job explaining things and these people were a problem .. Us not her? Dr was nice other staff pleasant But it doesnt cancel out this negative experience.

New patient with appointment, showed up 10 minutes early, done filling paperwork, stayed waiting for more than an hour and had been still waiting. There are more than 30 - 40 patients already there waiting. Why did you book people this crowded? You have a life but the others don’t?

Everything so far has been great. Everyone is helpful and friendly. Could have done better with eye drop directions, but the 2nd person explained everything. Looking forward to getting the next eye done for my mother.

They tried their best. Sometimes I waited half hour but it is Ok.

Dr Kim is very knowledgeable about the Retina and it makes me feel comfortable with any procedures recommended by him.

Dr. Tan is a great doctor, explains everything that he is doing. I trust him to do the right thing for me. Which has been numerous shots in both eyes, was very scary the first and he was great and never felt any pain.

Very accommodating to see both my husband and my self together. Highly recommend

Had a piece of metal in my eye. Went to Loma Linda urgent care where they botched the removal. Loma Linda said I needed to come back in 3 days yet couldnt fit me in at all even though it was listed priority and urgent. Wife found pacific eye institute and they made room right away. Went in and had the rust scraped from my cornea. They pointed out everything Loma Linda did wrong and all the Hazzards. I was in and out fast and fully recovered in a week.

Very professional and caring staff. Didnt wait long. A few issues with the workers computer locking up but it was taken care of really quickly. Doctor was professional and informative. Good place to go for Opthalmology issues.

My experience at Pacific Eye Institute was amazing. All employees demonstrated a high level of professionalism. Dr. Park and his nurse were Professional, treated me with kindness and showed great attention to my medical needs.needs.

My 86 year old mother is a patient of Dr. Samuel Kim whose chair side manner is above and beyond compared to her previous doctor.My mom has difficulty hearing and understanding but Dr. Kim was patient and spoke easily with her about her condition, that day’s visit, as well as what her future visits would include regarding her vision.

Overall service was great. Friendly staff, however the wait time was a bit long in order to see doctor.

My visit with Dr. Smith was informative efficient and each nurse waspleasant and efficient. It is a busy office.

My mom was scheduled to have scarring removed from her right eye (shed had her left eye done in March) on the 29th. Her appointment was at 12:45 she waited over 2 Hours for a procedure that takes 10-15 minutes. She hadnt had lunch because her appointment time did not allow. When we asked why the long wait we were not given an explanation. Later, we heard the staff talking and found that the staff had forgotten to tell the doctor he had 2 patients waiting for scarring removal, so he had gone into surgery. Really!?!? If patients are scheduled for a time and date, and the patients have checked in...how do you forget? My mom was hungry, in need of her medication (which she takes with food) and very upset that it was almost 3 pm by the time we left the clinic. This is so unprofessional. Today, May 5, she was scheduled for her follow up appointment at 8am. When we arrived I was told I could not go in with my mom because the lobby was full. I asked if I could wait outside until they called her to the exam room so that I could translate for her. Again, I was told no. I explained that my mom is hard of hearing and that she has a difficult time understanding things. Again, I was told no. So, I sent my mom in by herself while I waited outside. As I sat outside, 2 people approached and asked the same thing I had. One person was given permission to enter with their father because he was in a wheelchair (COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE AND I WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME), but the second person that was let in said her mother was having a procedure in the near future and wanted to go in. The nurse told her to wait outside and would call her in when her mother was called to the exam room. She even went as far as to write her cell number so she could call her. I got very upset because although my mom had already had her procedure, it was important for me to be in the exam room to hear how the procedure went and to determine what else would be needed. I immediately spoke to the nurse and asked her why she would not make an exception for me given that I had asked previously. She said the patient is mentally ill thats why. I told her, thats not true, I was standing right behind her and I heard the entire conversation. She is scheduled for a procedure and my mom already had hers. One is a pre-op appointment and ours is a post-op appointment. Additionally my mom has 60% hearing loss, speaks a different language and has difficulty understanding. Why the exception for one but not the other? My second issue with Pacific Eye is that this clinic constantly overbooks appointments. As I write this it has been an hour since our appointment time and my mom has yet to be seen. The lobby is full and there are 5 people waiting outside. A patient sitting next to me commented that she feared the wait would be over 2 hours given this clinic always over books. When asked why the long wait, no explanation is given. However it is evident in the amount of people they have waiting. I asked to speak to the doctor to express my concerns and I was handed a business card and told to call and make an appointment. No apology was given. No reassurance. Nothing. The doctors are highly rated, too bad their business practices are not.

Professional doctors and staff. Always friendly, patient and attentive to their patients needs.. at least with me. Wish we didnt have to travel tor the surgeries......

Appt was 3:15, asked @ 4:43 whats going on? Still waiting to see the doctor. Are you kidding me? Good thing they close at 5. Patients shouldnt have to wait an hour & a half past their appt time to see the doctor.Whats the point of scheduling appointments?

Dr. Park instructed me details one by one in Korean. And Dr. Park gave me written instructions as well. I was very happy to meet Dr. Park at High Desert and have been relaxed from worries about eye problems.

My 4th or 5th appointment with Dr Peter Bekendam. Relatively young progressive and cautionary doctor. Gives you information based on facts and experience so you can make the best choices for your eye health future. My first appointment pre-Covid was with his mother, I love her❣️Also, excellent care at Barstow and Hesperia offices....Barstow is smaller, but gives faster service. Staff at both facilities are professional and friendly. Although they have 6ft spacing, they do need to spray or disinfect waiting area seats after each patient.

Theyre always top quality. We usually go in the afternoon, after my dads nap, but this time, for various reasons, we were almost a month behind schedule getting his injection, so we took the appointment they offered, 7AM, though thats 90 minutes or more before my dad generally gets up & its a 35 minute drive. Well, it was like a dream, no wait at all! In the afternoons we rarely wait any longer than one expects with medical appointments, but given that the appointment takes 30+ minutes, added to drive time there & back, the wait seems long to me. On our last (7 AM) appt we were in & out of there in no more than 40 minutes, home by 8:15!

Good Service and Excelent Doctors

I came in because I had inadvertently put nail glue in my left eye thinking it was eye drops for pink eye. Try as I might, it would not rinse out. Urgent care told me it would eventually rinse out but I was miserable so they told me to wait for someone to call me with an appointment. However, I was in so much pain, I looked up Pacific Eye Institute. The operator who answered the phone got me in the next morning and the doctor was incredible! I had been suffering for at least one week expecting that glob to go away with rinsing as I had been told. He deadened my eye, took a cotton swab, dabbed my eye and it was gone!! I couldnt believe it! Everyone was so nice and understanding. I really appreciate this place!!!

I like it! everyone is good natured and helpful. that is rare these days.

The waits there are unbelievable. They will make you wait in a crowded waiting room with people coughing while they go to lunch. 2 plus hour waits are common.

If I could give less than one star I definitely would. The waiting times of this location is disrespectful and inconsiderate to patients. Over two hours and counting just to be seen? AND eyes have to be dilated twice due to it wearing off while waiting. Seriously, things need to be reevaluated and a better system should be configured.

The doctors and staff are nice enough and seem to be very specialized and well trained. My complaint with this place is it is EXTREMELY assembly line feeling. There is not one. But two. Waiting rooms. Just when you think you’re getting called back (40 mins after appointment time) just kidding we’re going to put you in room 2 instead. Haha. :/ for real? Sardine style scheduling. It’s absolutely terrible. Literally 20 people or more in waiting room and 5-8 people standing. If you have something else to do the day you’re scheduled to come here, you better cancel it. Free up at LEAST 2-3 hours after “scheduled” appointment. Bad.

The doctor and his staff were all excellent, caring, professional. Even with all of the extra precautions that was being taken to screen all incoming patients, people; everything was still professional.

Of all the doctors I see, Pacific Eye Institute always handles appointments with care and expedience. Its a very busy office but they move very quickly.

Love my Dr. Love the fact I can see. However I called the office and told Erica I was running 10 min late. She told me the Dr would not wait for me. They have kept me waiting for 2 and 1/2 hrs.

The doctor was excellent. Take something to do. Wait times are far too long. But what do you expect when so many people dont show up to their appointments. Some doctors double book so they are productive. Maybe someday people will wise up. A doctors appointment was $90 in 1990. A hamburger was $2. Minimum wage has more than doubled since then. Hamburgers taste the same. Medical care has improved. An exam should cost $160 at least.

Wait time is beyond long. Check in then go have a meal. A better option then spending your whole day in this office freezing while your sugar drops and blood pressure rises. VERY POOR managering. The wait should not be this long. Would give 1/2 star if possible.

Terrible phone etiquette. My mother called to make an appt and when they answered the phone they put her on hold and kept her on hold and not once did they check back with her to let her know they hadn’t forgotten her. When they finally picked up it was the same lady because obviously she forgot she had placed someone on hold. Put her back on hold and when the line was picked up again it was again someone who couldn’t help her and put her back on hold. When someone FINALLY picked up the phone she told my mother to call back later since they were on lunch. Super unprofessional.

Appointment at 9:45 2 hrs later nothing seriously better off going down the hill. Cash patients should take some priority you are taking my hard earn money i would love some great customer service to go with thay 150+ consultation. Not be in one waiting area just to go to another one ridiculous

Please dont take it out on the staff. Drs want more patients and over book. Sometimes the girls cant even take their breaks. Ive seen it many times now with lots of medical offices. Some Drs wont come if they dont have a certain # of patients. It is not fair to the the patients or staff.

Husbands appt was at 2:30 and as of 4:30 he hasnt seen the actual Dr...Dont double book or treat us like cattle. Its rude and disrespectful. I understand theres not enough drs up here but still there has to be a better way...and to start we had to wait a long time for appt to begin with...some people have kids and families and they expect us to wait that kind of time is rediculous and we didnt choose this location or facility..we were referred so we didnt have a choice. At the end of the day its all about the buck..Soo sad really!!!!!!

They’re not true to their appointment times. My appointment was at 2:45 so I got here before 2:30, and watched people who cane in way after I did just walk in and out even though their appointment was after 3:00. I waited over an hour an a half and all they could tell me was I was next even though they called someone else up.

I wouldnt give this place any stars absolutely horrible had an emergency referral got an appointment at 7am just to have them not answer the phone for an hour because they dont turn them on u till 8!! How are people suppose to get help!! Why be open and not answer you phones?! Now they made my emergency appointment out another month absolutely horrible staff Ill be calling my doctor and taking my buisness else where!

Unbelievable! Total DISRESPECT of patients time. Most patients HERE IN THE WAITING ROOM ARE STATING THAT THEY HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER TWO HOURS. My husbands appointment was scheduled for 9:15. It is now 10:59.........still waiting.

5th appointment in the last 2 months and not once have I even seen the doctor in less than an hour after my appointment. NOT ONCE! Im passing an hour in this trip and this is the most empty Ive ever seen the waiting room.
