We rarely post reviews but now feel compelled to do so owing to our sincere gratitude to the Prosperity Team. Before joining the program, we heard great things from our family dietitian, who has been in the field of treating eating disorders for over 20 years. When our son joined the program, he received a lot of support and attention, and the therapists are very knowledgeable, encouraging, and helpful. From being shy and closed to fully open and engaged, our son has built a strong bond with staff and his peers in the program. We’re especially grateful to Heather Baker, our family therapist and the owner, who supported us tremendously, and her great leadership, passion, and commitment to helping families have truly been remarkable. From our experience, Prosperity is a place built on trust and hope, and it stands out on several fronts: good understanding of client needs and tailored treatment, highly professional team highly responsive and effective, very caring, and supportive environment. We thank Heather and her team for their hard work and great support. We strongly recommend Prosperity to those families with loved ones seeking treatment for recovery.

This facility saved my daughter’s life. Heather Baker knew what my daughter needed to finally get her back to a “normal” life. I’m so thankful for this group and highly recommend them.

Prosperity helped save my life! I’ve been to both the Herndon and Charlottesville locations for a significant period of time and both were crucial for my recovery journey. The therapists, dietitians, diet techs, psychiatrists and staff are so kind, supportive, encouraging and compassionate, yet challenged me and really helped me to identify my eating disorder thoughts and behaviors. They went above and beyond to help me fight my eating disorder. They created a safe environment where I felt like I could be honest and open up about things without judgment. I learned very valuable and practical coping skills to help me when I struggle. I definitely would not be where I am without their help and I’m grateful. I recommend 1000%.

It is rarely that you can say an organization has saved the life of someone you love. Our child was diagnosed with Anorexia last year. Despite all of the challenges that Prosperity was facing with COVID-19 restrictions, our child was added to the IP program in a mater of days. The treatment team worked with us daily as parents, a family, and our child working towards the goal of restoration. All conducted virtually. The team was caring, responsive, supportive, and helped us to understand the various stages that we would be and were experiencing. The parents group was especially helpful from our perspective to talk to parents further along in the process. That things do change, they improve, and there is light at the end of the tunnel.I struggle to put into words how much Prosperity helped save the life of our child. Its a challenging time, and you need experience and love to get through it. That is what Prosperity offered us.Thank you to everyone for saving our child!

Any parent experiencing the chaos and confusion an eating disorder can bring to your child and family needs to meet Heather Baker and her team. They are caring, experienced and willing to walk through this journey with you. Eating Disorders do not make sense to most of us, but the team at Prosperity made it possible to navigate through the many steps to recovery. Our daughter would not be where she is today in her recovery without them.

Heather and her team at Prosperity were instruments of hope and change in what had been a hopeless area of my life for years. When I had accepted my eating disorder as a lifelong way of living, I met Heather and received life-changing care by learning practical knowledge of food and my body as well as diving into the deeper person of who I am and what God desires for me as I live this life Hes given me. Anyone struggling with their eating and body image should consider making an appointment at Prosperity. Finding hope and healing IS possible!

My recovery journey at Prosperity has been educational, compassionate, and hopeful. I had been a weekly participant in the Binge Eating Disorder support group for more than a year before deciding to seek a higher level of care. At age 57, my eating behaviors and belief systems were deeply ingrained, so it took me a while to unlearn a diet mentality and adapt to a new way of looking at my relationship with food and eating.I enrolled in the Intensive Outpatient Program for 16 weeks, during which time I learned to identify and honor my physical hunger, emotional hunger, and satiety signals. I also learned what causes me to reach for food as a coping mechanism, and I learned dozens of new coping skills that I can use whenever I’m in a tricky situation. The therapists, dietitians, and wellness practitioners at Prosperity consistently deliver the message of recovery. I was in groups with people with widely varied experiences, but the common denominator is always recovery. We helped one another to examine new ways of looking at things, to forgive ourselves for the damage we had done in our lives, and to love and care for ourselves in ways that we weren’t yet accustomed. Prosperity was a 100-percent positive environment for me to learn and grow as a human being, as well as recover from years of self-abuse in my eating disorder behaviors. I am and always will be grateful for the support and recovery I’ve received there.
