His loud gruff voice is just his way, but he is very competent , always did a great job on surgery on my nails in the hospital. I had Asheville Ortho screw up my toe surgery, so now I trust Dr Marn to fix them if he can. He sure will try, because he cares about his patients!! The door situation is a frivolous complaint.

I have never been treated so rudely as I was at this office. I accompanied my wife to her appointment and when she was taken to the exam room Her wheelchair clipped the folding door. I was out in the waiting area and I heard the receptionist making a loud fuss and then the Dr came out and started talking about how the door was so expensive and they dont make it anymore. A while later the Dr was talking to another patient in the waiting room/lobby where i was sitting and I hear him say to the Dr ,wont your insurance cover that? The Dr said I dont know and turned to me and said does she have insurance on that chair? I said not hardly and asked if ?I could look at the door. I then offered to take the door and fix it. When I was taking the door down I opened it to is fullest and measured the opening and it was 27 inches wide. When I brought the door back I told the Dr that ADA requires that all doors are to be no less than 32 inches wide. My experience over the last 35 years is that most wheel chairs are at least 24 inches and that only leaves an inch and a half on either side of the chairs to fit through a 27 door. The Dr said we have wheel chairs go through this door all the time. I said I am not here to argue with you I am just telling you what the law says. I then cancelled her next appointment and the Dr asked why I was cancelling her appointment. As I was explaining how rude the receptionist was he kept talking over me as if it didnt matter what I had to say. I havent even gone into what the receptionist did that was so rude while we were rescheduling because it really doesnt matter, if the boss is that rude how can one expect anything different from his staff? I will never go back to that office. I would like to clarify one thing: When I said the Dr I am talking about Dr. Sheldon Marne DPM. I will say that the other Dr that did the work on my wifes feet was very nice and said nothing at all to my wife about the incident. The lady at the front desk the next day when I returned the door was also nice. Looking back I only wish I never offered to fix the door which I did for free. The only reason I gave this a 1 star rating is that i couldnt post it with 0 stars.

My son needs an ingrown toenail fixed and since Dr. Marne fixed mine 10 years ago, I googled him so we could go back. I was sad to see the negative reviews. Is he rough and gruff? Yes, but he’s also really funny and kind. Did he do an excellent job on my toe? Yes. Do I prefer excellence precision over anything else? Absolutely. Another podiatrist had fixed my toe two years prior, but it grew back ingrown. Dr. Marne explained that happens a lot bc podiatrists often don’t do a good job killing the root. He was thorough. He also made me laugh a lot and we talked through the whole thing. His receptionist held my hand during the numbing shot. She was very kind. He also treated a little kid while I was in the waiting room and he was kind to her. People need to weigh all things before running their mouth on google.

Hay the doctor there just has a sense of humor hes nice

Those two idiots who posted before me, must be his competition. I have NEVER met a doctor as personal as he is. Maybe its because we have similar senses of humor. I was a bit tense to have my ingrown toenail removed, but the banter between us put me at ease. The only reason I went to him, was because my toenail was infected. As soon as I recover from this one, I am going to get the other one corrected. If you dont enjoy laughing while youre a bit worried about the procedure, then perhaps you should see a podiatrist with no bedside manner. This guy was GREAT!!!

While searching for a podiatrist for myself, I ran across this doctors name. I was reminded of taking my disabled sister there several years ago..She is gone now but this haunts me still..Why did I not report this Drs. rude behavior...My sister had painful toes from arthritis and could barely walk. We were asked first thing if we had insurance. When I said no, he replied there is no use treating her. I told him she had money to pay..He grudgingly then took her in to trim her toenails..He was very rough causing her extreme pain. My sister endured the pain with gritted teeth. Dr.Marne came highly recommended by a cousin who had good insurance and was well to do. My feeling at the time was I would not take a dog to this Dr. He does not deserve the one star I gave him.
