Dr. Humiston & Donna at Humiston Chiropractic are the best! It’s a great experience. My back pain has improved so much. Before I came I was having trouble sleeping it hurt so bad. Now, I have no problem sleeping due to pain. Dr. Humiston listens to your needs and customizes your care. They periodically check my progress with photos so that I can see results. You will be valued as a patient here. They are flexible with appointment scheduling so I’m able to come after work. I’m so glad I found them.

I went to Dr. Humiston with a bit of trepidation (Im a chiropractic newbie!) in an attempt to get some help with an injury and chronic pain that no one had been able to help me with. There is good chiropractic care, and then there is this practice. I absolutely love this office. I always feel so much better after being adjusted.Ive also noticed, since coming regularly, I feel better all around. My spine isnt the only thing that gets pampered. My whole body just feels good. We had no experience using a chiropractor and weren’t sure what to do for our 14 year old daughter. Her pediatrician’s office suggested either an orthopedic referral for physical therapy or a chiropractor. She had been having back pain for years that had become more frequent and she started having daily headaches. Because of our families suggestion we turned to Dr Humiston. The visits were frequent at first and as she started to improve her visits got a little farther apart. I am a left leg amputee so when I hurt my back, causing excruciating pain in my right hip and down my right leg, I could barely get around even on crutches. I tried rest and some stretches I got from my medical doctor but it did not help. I am a very active 65 year old who enjoys hard work, motorcycle and horseback riding, but my future was looking pretty bleak until my daughter recommended I go see Dr. Rick. I knew nothing about chiropractic treatment but after hearing how much Dr. Rick had helped relieve pain for both my daughter and 18 year old grandson, I made an appointment. Been talking to Rick for years about my reoccuring back pain. Finally it got so bad I called Rick and he said to come in and well see what I can do for you. I came walking in his office sideways and barely could sit up straight. He check me out and said that he could help me. In 2 weeks time Ive been walking 2 miles a day and able to stand straight with little or no pain. I would recommend Rick if you have chronic back pain. Dont put it off go get it checked out. When I walked into the office, it truly was my last ditch effort before scheduling a second back surgery. I was really scared - I couldnt feel the majority of my left leg and I was very weak. I didnt know if I could even be helped with degenerative disks and a prior surgery.I saw improvements within the first couple of treatments. And now, I can walk again with ease. Dr. Humiston has reduced the pain in my shoulder blades and neck. I would have ranked it a 7 or 8 on a 1-10 scale before I received treatment at Humiston Family Chiropractic. It is now a 1-2 on a 1-10 scale. He has been effective at treating the causes of my pain instead of merely addressing the symptoms. I have learned a lot about stretching, moving, and maintaining good spinal and neck related health. The office is a great environment and Donna is absolutely wonderful. The initial consultation is free, so you have nothing to lose. They also work with whatever insurance you have and are exceptional folks helping the community.

For six years I had what I thought was a muscle injury from carrying a way too heavy pack on a week-long AT hike. Then back in December, I all of a sudden got very intense pain in both of my shoulders to the point that taking off my shirt at night, sleeping, grabbing for my seat belt in the car or using my arms in a lot of ways was debilitating. I have taken SO MUCH 800mg ibuprofen and OTC meds over all of this time. I was taking everything from melatonin to benedryl every night to try to sleep. At 42, I was having consistent pain in both, my feet and back, had been for years. I was using inserts for my feet, soaks, couldn’t walk barefoot even in my home. My back burned every single day by mid day. In the evening when I would finally sit down for the day it was all I could do to stand and walk across the room in an upright position. I went to an ortho about foot pain, got a boot and insert and that was it. Didn’t help. I started having itchy arms every day...random times. The more I scratched the more they itched. It was unbearable. I finally googled why my arms would itch so badly. It said compressed disc was a possibility. With this virus going on I wasn’t comfortable going to a big orthopedic spine drs office...so after a recommendation from a close friend I reached out to Humistons Family Chiropractors office. They were able to get me in within a couple days. First visit, when I walked in I couldn’t stand straight. He listened and heard all that I said. He immediately got to work. The first wkend after was rough. I just laid around icing, using a brace and not overdoing. The following wk I went 4 times. By my 3rd visit I was standing straight from a lie down or sitting position, I was able to move around on the table without help, the itching has almost come to a stop, the pain in my feet is almost completely gone. I am super confident that I will be back to good in no time. I cannot express my gratitude for still taking patients, really putting my health and well-being first and reminding me that everything is connected. When one thing is out of whack it can effect everything else. I have counted down the hours for my appointment today, I can’t wait to feel even better this evening. Highly recommend.

I originally went to Dr. Humiston for a back injury but he found that an old injury had made my spine inches out of line. He got me back in line. I was doubled over in pain from a slipped disk in my back and couldnt stand up tall for the pain. In just one visit I was able to stand almost straight and had some relief from the pain. The Humiston team worked with me over the next few weeks to get me back up and moving normally with adjustments, office medical equipment and exercises they gave me to do at home. I am 67 years old and had never been treated by a chiropractor in my life. When I began have back pain, and my family physician simply recommended stretching exercises, my wife strongly recommended that I make an appointment with Humiston Family Services. They conducted a thorough analysis and began treatment immediately. I have to admit I was skeptical at first. It took several visits before I began to feel a difference, but after the entire series I was nearly without pain. Along with exercises, they gave me ways to sit and move that all contributed to a solution without the use of medications. I now view my chiropractor as I would any expert medical specialist and if I have any future skeletal problems it is the first place I will turn.

I went to Rick after several weeks of excruciating pain caused by a pinched nerve. The previous doctors I had seen just gave me a shot of Cortisone and sent me on my way. After my first session with Rick, there was immediate improvement. At this point, after a few weeks of treatment at Humiston, my pain and weakened muscles are at least 90% better.
