I have seen Dr. Fontes before for my knee. This time was for both of my shoulders. I thought it was arthritis again, like my knee, but X-ray reveled no arthritis of which I’m very thankful but rotator cuff tear. Dr. Fontes always takes time with me and explains everything. I appreciate that very much. He will be doing surgery on my knee in February, God willing. I trust him completely.

Had to wait a while but Dr. Fontes spent time reviewing my xrays and discussing treatment plans.

Excellent from the beginning at filling out papers online to the speed, courtesy and expertise from the front desk, nurse, x-ray technician and finally Dr. Fontes. I was very pleased with the staff they were very kind and so helpful. My questions were answered quickly and made me feel so comfortable. When I met Dr. Fontes I felt such a relief and knew he was the dr. I wanted to do this surgery his smile was amazing and warm I felt so comfortable and confident that he was the one who was going to make me better. I felt most of my worries gone.. Roger Fontes has helped me through several tragedies over the years. I have had him work on sprains of all sorts, especially to my shoulders. His work is great. He tries simple treatment and then goes to more complex treatment until the problem is solved. I is a great way to get the best treatment at the lowest price.

Was very happy with my experience with dr. Fontes. All the staff are really polite and helpful. The part I really liked was I was shown my x-rays . They explained to me the problem I was having and showed me in detail from the x-rays.

His staff were friendly and prompt, Upon entering the building a nice young lady greeted me with a smile then she took my temperature. I was visiting from the Phoenix metropolitan area so I didnt know anyone put the staff in his office made me feel right at home the doctor was knowledgeable . He happily share his knowledge . Extremely professional, caring, listens to patients and their concerns. Explains everything to patients and points out the things seen on Radiology tests. Answers all questions does not act like he is to busy to talk. WILL DEFINITELY SEE HIM AGAIN. Who recommend him to anyone who need orthopedic care.

Dr. Fontes was everything I was hoping to find in a doctor. Explained everything to me in a way I understood. Will be having surgery on right hip in November. Would highly recommend him to anyone. You really dont find many good doctors with his personality and experience.

This was my first visit to DOC and seeing Dr. Fontes as I am new to the area. I very much liked his bedside manner and thoroughness in checking my shoulder. The wait time was a little longer then anticipated but when you have a good doctor, they tend to spend whatever time they need with their patients which causes them to run behind at times. His staff was also pleasant and thorough. I would reccomended him to others!

As a retired podiatrist, I have some insight into medical professionalism. DOC’s entire staff and especially Dr. Fontes were first class and I have No hesitation recommending anyone to them. They exhibited pride and integrity in their work and the DOC facility was also state of the art, from the paperless initial history and sign in through follow up care.

Dr. Fontes is wonderful and he did a fantastic job on my knee replacement. He is experienced, knowledgable and caring. He has kindly given me time to answer questions and has taken care of my needs in a supportive way that is very appreciated.

Over the past 5-6 years Dr. Fontes has performed surgery on both of my shoulders and one knee. All three results were perfect. His physician assistant, Laura Rodriguez is also top notch.

Nobody wants to hear the word surgery, that’s for sure! Dr. Fontes did my hip replacement 5yrs ago anterior!!! That’s the way to go! I had arthritis in hip and could hardly walk! I at the time was 55yrs young, and active! Still worked as a Flight Attendant full time! I was only off from work 5 weeks! Amazing!!! My therapy was to walk further everyday! My hip for last 5yrs has been at 95%! What a success! Now, I had a fall at my daughters pool, and tore my Achilles’ tendon. Once again, I have a date in surgery on Wednesday, 22 May! I trust Dr. Fontes for another amazing recovery so I can again return to flying, and an active life!

Dr. Fontes is a very straight forward, very personable doctor, was very pleased with his expertise in diagnosing my knee, I will be returning for knee replacement surgery, his staff is also wonderful, would highly recommend him.

Visited Dr Fontes for pain in both knees. After Xrays, Dr Fontes took his time explaining in detail my problem and he made a treatment plan. I was very happy with the professional friendly treatment I received.

I shattered my arm in 4 places on a Saturday. It took me 6 days to get an appt with an orthopedist. Dr. Fontes treated and got me into surgery the next morning, first thing at 500 am. He is an amazing surgeon and caring physician. I look forward to him examining my bum knee this week, if I can get an appointment

This man was amazing the speedy scheduling and great customer service I received from his staff was amazing he genuinely cared for my pain and well being.

Dr Roger Fontes is One of the BEST, Orthopedic specialist I have ever met. I have Osteoarthritis and he advised me to keep practicing Yoga, Pilates, Pool exercise and Strength. Instead of knee or patella replacement like other doctors would. He said if pain is consistent 24/7, then surgery will be necessary.I recommend for anyone who is going to have a procedure to consider getting a second opinion and see Dr Fontes.

I had arrived at 2:00PM for my 2:05PM, scheduled appointment at the horizon ridge office, desert orthopedic center, for this doctor. Front desk clerk stated that the doctor declined to see me, because I did not arrive at 1:50, to get my insurance information and to get a picture of me, prior to be seen by this doctor. I reached out to the manager of the scheduling and she was also unaware of these rules, that apparently are this particular doctors own rules and not the desert orthopedic centers rules. I found this to be very unprofessional and a high inconvenience to be wasting people’s time , who took time off work, to be at a scheduled appointment to be seen by a doctor at the scheduled time!! Definitely, switching doctors !!

By far the best surgeon i have been to he has treated me for almost 5 years now and has always been caring and warm and dare i say sometimes funny lol

Dr. Fontes is fantastic. I could barely walk and he replaced my bad hip w a new titanium joint. Now Im active again and back in action. Such a great job and no pain. Only pain relief. Everyone should go see Dr. Fontes, hes the best.

I had my left hip replaced total hip replacement by Dr Roger fontas in 20 14 this year February of 2017 I had the right hip replaced by dr. fontas both surgeries went well . Have had no problems with either hip the hip replacement on both when done through the front minimizing the downtime. I was pleased with both surgeries and would recommend to anybody contemplating a hip replacement not to wait it took me 4 years to make up my mind on the first hip replacement.

I had a total knee replacement done by Dr. Fontes.I had been seeing another Orthopaedic Surgeon but he left the area. He referred me to Dr. Fontes saying he would do a good job on my knee. Dr. Fontes did an excellent job on my knee. I could not be happier with the results.His staff also does an excellent job of following up before and after surgery.My husband saw him for a shoulder problem. Dr. Fontes suggested a month of therapy. After therapy my husbands shoulder pain was gone, and he was delighted that he didnt require surgery.

By far the most rude, unprofessional, and uncaring doctor I have ever seen in my life. Dont even want to mention the doctor was an hour and a half late, he NEVER even clinically examined my injuries.....The first thing out of the doctors mouth shouldnt be about his compensation from your insurance company.....If you care about yourself, which is why youre going to a doctor, avoid Roger Fontes at all cost!EDIT: All injuries were from the ER and less than 2 weeks old
