I am a 68 year old white geezer. Why do you think I was here?

Well I read the reviews before I went but was hoping for the best. They definitely put too many braids in ( medium box braids). A total of 3 people worked on my head at some point and you can see the difference. BUT I watched a woman come in after me and claim that she had just had surgery and couldnt sit long. Not only did they put two people on her the entire time, they also did a great job. IF I go back Im going with a pillow and a story.

First time ever going. Started on me an hour after my apt time. Started and stopped several times. Took 9 hours to get done. Had 3 people on my head at once; which was fine but one of the ladies was very heavy handed and I had to keep telling her not to braid so tight.They were nice ladies, but never offered a break or a drink considering I drove an hour and a half. There is no restroom in the shop, you have to use the one located in the mall.Its not a far far walk, but when u gotta go, u gotta go! I have short hair and they got most of it, but some hair in the back which was very grabable was very loose the next day and the very back edges kept falling out. They never did talk to me. Only when selecting hair color and when asked to pay. Overall experience wasnt that great. They are convenient and located in a good area. Would I go again if I had to? Probably so. Would they be my first choice? Probably not.

I take back my good review. When I first got my Senegalese twist done they were tight. But umm I got my hair done a week and a half ago and my whole front row twist are really loose now. And 3 twist have fallen out of random spots in my head with hair still on the fallen out twist. And I had to take down 2 because it was about to fall out soon. Im not sure if they rushed. But I dont think its normal for my front row and back row to be loose this early. I paid 240$ for this style so nothing should be falling out of my head with that price.

I don’t know why there are so many negative reviews on here, I went yesterday they gave me exactly what I wanted and my braids are beautiful. They were free spirited and nice we laughed a lot. I will be coming back every time. I have posted pictures of my braids too.

Worst customer service ever!!!!! Dont waste your time here. First they didnt remember booking my appointment, then they increased the price from what they quoted me even when I showed them the Facebook message they sent me with the price they still wanted to charge me more. They were very rude and unwelcoming, I would never consider going back there no matter how desperate I am. And now I have to find someone else to do my hair....ugh

SO I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS SHOP TO GET MY HAIR DONE... THEY MESSED MY HAIR UP SO BAD.. IT WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.. MY BOX BRAIDS WERE SO LOOSE SOME FELL OUT BEFORE A WEEK.. I DROVE FROM SPRINGFIELD IL JUST TO TRY THEM OUT I GUESS THATS WHAT I GET FOR TRYING NEW PLACES..

I was spektical about going to them for crochet braids, I guess I shouldve followed my initial instinct, so here we go...braids were not tight enough and when she crochet the hair in, she didnt double knot it so it was a concern to me. Therefore, once I styled the hair crochet braids were coming out that day. I called and told the owner, she act as if I said nothing. Moving to two weeks later, I had to completely take it down, braids were hanging from my head. I went back to the shop,me and the girl were face to face and I explained the issue, once again, act like I said nothing. I was going to give them a second chance and possibly get goddess locs but after horrible customer service, I just left.

Worst experience ever! They are rude and ignorant! They quote you one price over the phone and then tell you a different price at the time of your service. The shop had gnats flying all over the place.

I love my style ... the ladies where so attentive when doing the box braids and very friendly, I will come back again, THANKS LADIES!!!

September 11, 2018,I called to make a 10:00 a.m.appointment at Best African Hair Braiding Studio for shoulder length Goddess Locs on Friday, September 14, 2018.September 14, 2018When I arrived at the shop to get the Goddess Locs; the manager told me they didnt supply the hair for Goddess Locs. They did not tell me this over the phone when I made the appointment. This was my 4th visit to their braiding shop. On the first 2 visits, I got small Senegalese Twists, and the 3rd visit, I got Medium box braids. This last visit was the only time I got short braids/locs. They told me to go to the nearest beauty supply and buy 6 bags of the Cuban Twist hair. I went to the beauty supply, bought the Cuban Twist hair for $45, and went back to the shop. They did not start on my hair for almost an hour and a half. It took a total of 6 hours for them to do my hair. Florence was the person who did my hair. She charged me $240 for the shoulder length Goddess Locs. Including the hair that I bought from the beauty supply and the service, I spent a total of $285.September 16, 2018 To September 19, 2018I was in Las Vegas, NV, over 1,000 miles away from St. Louis, MO. On Monday, September 17th, I had several Locs unraveling at the roots and the ends. Almost all of my Locs were frizzy and not fresh looking. I always tie my hair up with a silk scarf before going to bed at night or if taking a nap. It was imperative that my hair looked nice because I was in a wedding ceremony. My locs have been continuously unraveling and I have been trying my best to redo them. I wasnt able to go back to the shop before September 24, 2018 due to my school and work schedule.September 24, 2018I went back to Best African Hair Braiding Studio. I talked to the only braider in the shop at the time. She was not the one who did my hair. She called Florence and told her to come to the shop to talk to me. I told Florence that my hair was 10 days old and it has been severely unraveling. There were about 4 locs along the front perimeter that were very obvious and starting to unravel. Florence told me to come back to the shop tomorrow, Tuesday, September 25, 2018. I told her I wouldnt be able to get there until around 4:00 pm. She said that time wouldnt work for her. I then suggested that I come on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm. She agreed to that day and time. I then asked her will she redo all of my locs. Although, I also asked her if she could redo my hair into Senegalese Twists. She rudely walked away from me, speaking to the other braider in the shop in their language, and started doing the final touches to that braiders customers hair.Meanwhile, the other braider came over to me and began mediating for Florence and I. Florences body language, facial expressions, and voice inflections, all indicated that she will not redo my entire head in locs. The other braider told me that. She will only redo a few locs that are unraveling. She will not redo my hair into Senegalese Twists or any other style. I asked since she is only redoing a few locs could she do it now. She said no and that I must make another 30 mile round trip visit to her on Wednesday.The other braider said that I should have called as soon as I noticed the locs unraveling. According to her, that way Florence could have put my name down in their book and a note that they were unraveling. She pointed to a sign that said No Refunds. She said that they will redo a customers hair if their hair was braided within a 7 day period. She also said that if she were the person that braided my hair she would redo my whole head.I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday, September 26, 2018. I wrote my name in their book but, Im not sure if Im going back because my entire head needs to be redone.

I called for a price and was told 180 over the phone for a bob. Upon arriving on March 13, 2018, I showed them a picture. I was then yold I would have to pay 220 for smaller braids. My braids were not small and didnt look anything like the picture I showed them. Two days later, my big heavy braids start coming out from the scalp. I texted pictures with no response, so I went back. I was told to take my hair down to get it rebraided. I informed them that I just wanted my money back because I had lost braids from the scalp, which left bald spots. There response was no, do what I have to do. I took my hair down 8 days later and filed a case against them in court. The service is poor and even witg a picture, they do what they want to people hair. They use the same comb in every one hair, and allow people to come there with dirty hair. I wouldnt recommend unless you are prepared to be mad, disrespected, and disappointed.

My first time getting braids and Best African Hair Braiding did not fail me. My stylist Solange was great and I would recommend others.

Very professional. Just make sure you are veru detailed on what you want. Bring pictures. You might complain about the pricing. But, you get what you pay for I believe. 👍👍

I called and asked if it was ok to come at 9 in the morning . Lady on the phone stated yes and soons I arrived the shop was still closed and they never answered the phone

I been getting my hair braided here for about two years and i love it!!! Whatever style i want they can do it never waiting to be served Very friendly. They do a great job i wil never go anywhere else. My daughter hate getting her hair braided but they did a great job with her and she didnt cry. Everytime i get my hair braided i have so many people ask me where did you get your hair done ? I just say best African hair braiding in the mills lol. Will be coming some for some box braids lol.

Never again will i go to this place they was rude and did not to a good job my braids was falling out the next day and they told me a price over the phone when i got there it was a different price hire then the price they told me over the phone this place is a joke i will never go here again NEVER!!

Im so disappointed i came all they from out of town to try them out and they mess my head up and my daughter and my friend spent over $400 getting our head done and the next day braids was coming out never again will i come back here or will i recamind nobody to come here waist of time and money PISSED!!!!!!

Very horrible they didnt do the style that i liked and then they just cant understand nothing that your saying my niece came and in with a picture didnt do nothing we asked and then we sat for three hours had a appointment at 4pm they didnt start until 9:05pm just horrible service will never be back i will stick to my regular hair braiding place off of airport road
