Clean up ? Where? You looted all the things loved ones left.. we left reviews , tried to call, when I tried to explain how upset we are she hung up on me. Eric never returned calls.. I tried a number on a business card that was given to my daughter when she went down there and the voicemail is full. She could not look for our belongings as there was piles with broken items It was horrible.. fast forward to today. We expected nice clean grounds. Not we’re we wrong. Grass not mowed , trash all over , the trash cans over flowing… yet this is how management thinks they will sell plots. A dirty ghost town. It looks horrible with no flowers. We have had family there over 40 years. Never have we seen this.. so sad. Where it was once a beautiful,full of flowers and love place … to the disrespect we see. And to throw away all the flags left on Labor Day… chapel of the chimes you should be ashamed

Chapel of the Chimes Hayward. These guys take really good care of the family in their time of need. Ive attended several services and they have all been memorable and honorable. They have 2 chapels to choose from.

My friend just shared her terrible experience at chapel of the Chimes with me which is why I’m finally reviewing. My mother in-law has services here and they do not communicate with you. With all the stress of burying a loved one and dealing with lack of communication from the chapel made our arrest hard time harder. The receptionist was nice other than that do not go here!

Terrible. Unsympathetic. Unprofessional. My husband passed and we used this chapel because it was the closest. Our contact there was Wren and every mistake she made was made to seem like it was our fault. The printed materials were wrong and not even brought to our attention until the last minute. Flowers from our friends were sent that we didn’t hear about until a week later. We are still waiting on COMMUNICATION for a necklace we purchased a month ago. The only reason they received two stars is because of the transportation contractors were amazing and professional and coordinated services at the burial in Antioch.

My mother has been gone for almost 3 months now and we have yet to receive her ashes, we’ve yet to receive her death certificates and yet to hear anything from them concerning my mothers ashes. They are so unprofessional that they couldn’t even get my mothers name right, they proceeded to put the wrong name on my urns we had personally brought in, and even sent documents that were to be filled out via email with the wrong names on them. An extreme amount of money has gone into taking care of my mother after her passing and for the service we have (not) received I am disgusted to say the least. If I could give zero stars I would. Trust me my business will NEVER return to chapel of chimes, I am glad to we went through another company for my sisters services.

My family( former military), had Us flags on their graves. They threw them away like it was nothing. I didn’t have my family members during for nothing. Very disrespectful. I am so unhappy right now..

Chapel of the chimes has the best customer service. All staff is very nice. I would say the General Manager Mr. David Madden is a great guy and really cares about anyone coming to this place for service. This place is very organized and I would give the service a 5 star.

What can I say about Chapel of the Chimes Hayward? In 1969 my parents chose Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward because of their reputation of being fair, honest and family oriented. I must say that in 2020, this was still very much true. It is very hard losing a loved one, in this case my father. Gale Lighthall, Silvia Hernandez, and Heather Hawkins went above and beyond expectations and our family felt like they were family. With much gratitude in a very difficult time. I called them about my loved one and I was quoted a price which is totally different when I got there of what the services was going cost. This was suppose to be easy experience which it was not. I was told of the options that I had which was no longer true once I got there. At this point what can you do take your love one home. The manager called me and was able to resolve the issues in a timely manner

This review is for the front lobby reception staff. I wish to commend Silvia H. for her generosity and kindness each and every time I was at Chapel of the Chimes. I visited several times to handle the passing of my spouse, and she was there with a bright smile and enthusiastic greeting. On the initial visit, she gave me snacks from her personal stash as it was the only soft food I could chew. Upon heading out and thanking her for sharing, she graciously offered the rest of the container for me to bring home. Another instance, she took the time to chat and listen on how things were going. Silvia is truly a kind soul!

The Premises at Hayward we’re elegantly appointed, conveniently located and breathtaking views.The entire staff is A+, the Hugs from Nancy are tight and meaningful, Silvia at the Reception desk is polite, respectful and knowledgeable. I met lots of staff member and all of them made this a memorable event. My Mother had a Great Service. Thanks

At Chapel of Chimes Hayward, when I lost my my grandmother said something was pulling her here. After making an appointment and walking in I see why the universe did. Sergio at Chapel of Chimes made us feel welcome and at ease from the moment of first contact all the way through when mom was placed into her nitch. To even after for the cover being on. His communication is quick, polite and professional. He is awesome. Thank you Sergio for everything.

During this most difficult time, we turned to chapel of chimes in hayward for the service. All the people (Sherri brown, Nicolette nava and stephanie) that assisted us were really helpful. They were quick to respond to any of my questions, and very oragnized even during covid times. We recommend contacting them for your loved ones service.

The service that was provided for my dad’s viewing was impeccably great. From the casket, flowers, sound system and staff support was really impressive. Evelyn Bambao delivered what she promised and may even exceeded it. Times like this, you need someone who can really guide you. During one of the most difficult times for our family, we turned to Chapel of the Chimes for assistance. Funeral services and burial services are separate and you will work with a different advisor for each side. For the funeral, my family worked with a funeral director not familiar with our cultural and religious preferences. Lawrence, our burial services advisor, stepped in to support the items we requested and ensured the funeral director understood the process. The day before the actual funeral, Lawrence reached out with news that the funeral director we worked with was no longer with the organization. We were suddenly in a state of anxiety, worrying that my dads funeral would be in disarray. Despite the sudden change in plans, Lawrence stepped in as an acting funeral director, taking care of all last-minute items and masterfully coordinating the day-of ceremony. Lawrence even came in on his day off to ensure the inurnment was completed smoothly and timely.From the start of the process, Lawrence was the epitome of customer service and kindness. His patience, sense of propriety and professionalism were unparalleled. Lawrences respect for my family and dedication to people in their time of need could be felt in every contact I had with him. He always returned communications and made you feel supported. My family and I are truly grateful to have been lucky enough to meet Lawrence. He is one of a kind and I highly recommend reaching out to him at Chapel of the Chimes.

My grandparents, great grandparents, and great aunt and great uncle are all buried here. Thank you for taking care of there final resting places for us. We live in Oregon and try to come down when we can.

Best time with my Father

I came hete to see some friends graves and people that helped me along in life.And while visiting graves I seen a family of deer 5-6. Geese and wild turkeys. That roam the back hill and come down to eat the grass.

This is most of my familys resting area. I remember in the early 80s my great grandma had her funeral here in the Mission Chapel, we were blessed to have my mom in the same exact room in 2007, On May 24, 2018 my very own daughter was in the same exact room. I Thank You all for making that happen. All the workers there treated us like family. They are very kind and thoughtful. The rooms are very clean and I love the circle of peace where my mom, dad, grandpa, and my daughter will be. This will someday also be my resting area. Worst Finance department to dealt with. They charged us for biodegradable ashes box and next day they said, they dont have it in the stock. Okay, then we asked for the money back and they said, it takes 4 months!!!!!!! What????? Is there way I can report to collection agency to get the money :-( ? This is ridiculous!!!!After talking to David, GM this finance has been resolved. Thank you for calling and resolving the matter so quickly. Really appreciate. Great customer service. THANK YOU.

My family and I want to send our appreciation to Staff Elenor Catap and the front desk receptionists. They are very helpful in arranging my mothers final journey. Since my moms cremation was transferred from another country, so the paper work was more complicated. Elenor was very patient to help us through the whole process and find out whatever thing that was unclear. She is very professional and nice. Chapel of the Chimes is something special. Though not as historic as some of the other local cemeteries, it offers something even more special. Ive NEVER seen or heard of a cemetery with more cultural and community events ever! The events tbey hold, each marking the passage of life and the entrance of death, make death less scary and more just a natural part of the life cycle. Their Day of the Dead event should not be missed!

Josue Ramirez went above and beyond. He personally delivered the urn to our family when we couldn’t make it in time to pick it up. That was really helpful to us during such a stressful time. He also took time to help us pick out a niche for our grandmother. Thank you for your help.

My father was laid to rest at Chapel of the Chimes this week. The staff was incredibly professional and extremely kind during the entire process of planning and preparation, as well as throughout the viewing and interment.

Mixed emotions...my son was buried there 14 years ago. It went very smoothly as it was done by a young man whose name was Gino. Unfortunately Gino passed away 6 months later. My moms funeral was done so poorly. It was 3 years ago and I cannot recall the guys name. The man who made the arrangements for us was rude and did not appear to know what he was doing. He just handed us a paper for the dollar amount for all 6 of us kids and my dad to look at while he stepped out. He didnt even say what it was for. He didnt have the memory cards ready at the service...so many things went wrong due to Chapel of The Chimes. I went to the top. I was also promised by the Manager, I think his name was Harry, that because of the problems we had we could pick out any memorial items for each: my dad, us 6 kids and my nephew that she basically helped raise. He said whenever I was ready to come in, even if I had gone to Things Remembered for it, and they would pay for each item. When I was ready and had chosen items, I went to talk to him and OF COURSE he had left and there was a new Manager and nobody knew anything about it so they would not take care of the promise.Best thing about Chapel of the Chimes...Nancy! If I ever had to do this again she would be the only one I would deal with. Otherwise...they dont keep promises and are still doing nightmare for the family arrangements.

My parents and two sets of aunts and uncles are buried here. We have our own plans here. The staff has always been very respectful and helpful.

They dropped the ball on my Dads service. The Priest Chapel of Chimes appointed did not show up. The Assistance that was there did not know what to do let alone how to work the projector. My guest and I ran the show. Even thou everything was paid in full and in advance. It took months to be reconciled with a partial refund. Then took over 3 months for my Dads lettering to be put on. Lettering was not even put on straight. Very devastating. For the money you pay for funeral and this is what they specialize in you would think they were more organized.

GREAT STAFF BUT NEW ACTING GM AND MANGER DO NOT SUPPORT THERE WORKERS OR CREW AND THROW THEM UNDER THE BUS WHEN THEY DONT LIKE THEM and are not truthful with the staff about whats really going on at that location. You can be a great worker but then be let go for some small hearsy from people. Its not right and I am not happy.

Had an appointment here when my father passed & lady at front desk was rude because I didn’t know which room my family was gathered in (I was running late) not to mention “Jesus” was trying to sell my mother a friggin temple way out of our price range & gave me attitude also when I said we needed to stay within our budget. Sooooo glad we left there & went to Holy Sepluchre where we didn’t have an appt but were treated with dignity & compassion. Stay away from this place it’s over rated & you can tell it’s run more like a “business” than a place of service. Not to mention the pricing they offer is astronomical.. you would think their service would match their ridiculous pricing.. thank you dad for directing us to the very best establishment, Holy Sepluchre. This place is a joke!!

We had the misfortune to have my mother pass during the Christmas holiday. The person assigned to our family to help with the service was Caroline and we were deeply disappointed. We understand people have scheduled days off during the holiday season. What we didnt understand was that the time off was not communicated to us. We were trying to plan a service for my mother and did not receive returned calls or emails, despite being told to feel free to send an email because emails went to her cell phone that she constantly carried with her. She told us if we couldnt reach her to contact Consuela but it turns out she was out as well (super frustrating). Its hard enough to plan a service for a loved one (let alone during the holidays) but when the mortuary causes you to scramble to finalize everything late in the afternoon the DAY BEFORE the service, it makes it excruciating. Luckily I ended up getting in touch with Dawn who helped finalize everything and made sure everything was in place for the service.

I attended a funeral and everything was very nice and clean

If most of our family wasnt there I would stop using them. We paid an enormous amount of money and they put us in some back shack called mission chapel. The viewing was at night and the road to it was dark and unlit..people turned away because they did not know where to go. We were guaranteed video usage and had to fight to get it because it was not working, the floor had gum stuck all over it and was dirty..they are behind the times and if you are unhappy, they just refuse to take your calls anymore. At a time when you pay for a service to help make things easier..we found ourselves in constant turmoil and ineffeciency..VERY UNHAPPY WITH THEM...THEY ADDED A HUGE AMOUNT OF EXTRA STRESS

My families experience with Chapel of the Chimes goes back thirty plus years. I have no words to describe how amazing Julia and the rest of the grounds people have been over the years. Gale Lighthall is another first class member of the company and is an exceptional person to help you through what most will agree is one of the hardest things you will ever need to do. With this said I could only give three stars because as good as the above people are one person can really stain the efforts of a whole company. This person is Clayton Amundson. He made a very hard time much worse by trying to cheat our family out of every dime he could by putting his commission as a top priority. It is a shame a comapny like Chapel of the Chimes needs to employ such a used car salesman to accomplish their financial goals.

Pissed me off as a funeral home that tried to be perfect to all religions. And the act they have to do to pretend to care, and the up sales they try are disgusting.
