My mom has lived in the Brookdale Assisted Living facility for a year now. Ms. Lisa Boling and her staff have worked with us to meet my mom’s needs and have created a wonderful, caring atmosphere that my mom calls home. 2020 was a particularly tough year with Covid-19 and I would like to commend Ms. Boling and her staff on their diligent efforts to keep the residents well and still provide an atmosphere the residents could thrive in. Job well done!

Brookdale saved my mom!!! Let me explain, She needed friends her age, medical direction and her life on a schedule. Her delicious meals along with the correct dosage of medicines, the amazing care given to her every day and her new friends made the loneliness disappear.was the combination she needed to get her back to herself. There is no reason for any one to live alone and need care and love, when there is a place like Brookdale!!! The people are wonderful! Ms Lisa Boing is fantastic!! She had the ability to listen to all the problems and rationalize them with patience and still keep everyone happy!! That insight, enables her to manage the different relationships on a day to day bases. My mom and I love Brookdale!!! I am so welcomed every time I visit. If you have an elderly love one that needs that special place....try Brookdale!! Lucretia Bowman

As a District Director for Brookdale I have personally visited this community and experienced the compassion and friendliness of the residents, their families and the associates committed to serving seniors. This community is under renovation with new paint, floor coverings and furniture. So excited to see the finished product.

My grandmother, Geraldine Russ, has been living at Brookdale Senior Living Solutions in Hattiesburg, MS for 8 months and everyone has been absolutely wonderful to her! From the time we first walked in the doors to visit Brookdale to the present, her living experience has been exceptional and welcoming to her and all of our family! The transition from home to her new apartment at Brookdale has been inviting and comfortable for my grandmother. All staff, assistants and even the bus driver are extremely accommodating and helpful. Everyone constantly checks on her and makes sure she has transportation to her appointments. We appreciate everyone and would highly recommend Brookdale Senior Living Solutions to anyone!

My mother has lived at this community since July of 2012. There have beenSeveral Executive Directors in the 8 years but none as efficient and helpfulAs Lisa Boling. We have complete trust and confidence that should any issues arise they will be quickly and efficiently taken care of.Mrs Boling is extremely professional and diligent in all her interactions at Brookdale. My grandmother ,Liz, has been here for a few months now and seems to be really enjoying it. All the staff have been very nice every time we come to visit. The facility is very well maintained and all the activities they offer has helped her become more social and want to get out and meet the other residents. Our family would definitely recommend brookdale.

Were I advising a friend who ;was searching for a place for a relative who need a place offering both independent and looked after care, I would suggest giving serious consideration to looking at Brookdale Hattiesburg. I examined many such places and judged this one to be superior in all respects for my needslIt is well located, close to medical care, exercise facilities, super markets, and most facilities one would require, Just take a look for yourself.

I have been at Brookdale for ten weeks. I will truthfully say I cried and was miserable for two weeks. I wasnt about to let my family know this. While I was crying one of the workers was working in my room and gave me a (nice) pep talk. I found out later that he would pray for some of the residents.I decided I needed to meet people and take an interest in their lives. Each person has a story to tell. Some stories are funny and some are too painful to share. We respect each person as God would want us to.All the staff at Brookdale have an open door policy. They are so sincere about every problem we may have and we are encouraged to share with them. I dont think I would have been able to move forward in my life without all the hugs and prayers from the staff and residents. We really love each other.~Evelyn C Hanks

On November 22, 2016, the Karen Morgan, the Director of the Brookdale/Emeritus Senior Living in Biloxi placed me under threat of being thrown in jail if I should come to visit my mother within their building. Because of calls made from my mother’s emergency call pendant being ignored, I asked the Director, Ms. Morgan, for a copy of my mother’s entire records. Ms. Morgan informed me that I(Full POA) only had rights to my mother’s medical records. And the director of the assisted living institution stated that she instructs the residents to use their telephone when their emergency call pendants do not gain a response due to the institution being under staffed. The probable need of Ms. Morgan to protect those records from being seen by me led her to call the police to have me removed from the building two days before Thanksgiving. Ms. Morgan and the head nurse, Ms. Kelly, came with the police to my mother’s room and in her presence, began to interrogate and threaten me into submission. The situation has frightened my heart and lung patient 86-year-old frail mother into being afraid to sleep. She tells me that she cannot sleep because she fears what type of threats of physical dangers might come into to her room.Initially, friction began when I acquired evidence that may indicate that Brookdale/Emeritus Senior Living, Inc. as being involved with what I call, “Creative Billing.” “Creative Billing” includes billing for services not rendered, double billing, and refunds which later become debts. A major prosecuting attorney’s assistant stated that they could not take the case because it only affected one person. I wondered about that answer then, and wonder about it now. If Brookdale/Emeritus Senior Living, Inc. would show blatant billing issues on my mother’s bill, how many insurance companies and residents are suffering from the same possible financial fraud treatment throughout the United States? Why would the director, Ms. Morgan, of Brookdale/Emeritus Senior Living of Biloxi feel that it is not abusive to have the police brought to one of their residents rooms to arrest her child for asking for her mother’s records? The records were being requested because calls sent from the residents emergency call pendant were answered after hours of waiting or not at all. These pendants are used to indicate when a person may be having any type of medical emergency. How many people can find and dial a phone while having a deadly attack of some sort? Can anyone help me with these types of abuses because one day any one of us could find that he or she needs the services rendered by institutions for the disabled and elderly. Would you want your life’s savings drained for services that you do not receive while watching your child being threatened jail time for fighting for your rights as a breathing human being?Sincerely,Sandra SpeerAs of 1/9/17 Karen Morgan sent an email stating that she still is unable to send me any of my mothers records. Why is Brookdale/Emeritus Senior Living, Inc. forcing Karen Morgan, Wanda Everett, Sandra Fairley, Pamela Taylor, and Ms. Kelly to not give me an ex residents records. Due to the evidence that I have, I am suspecting that they are attempting to hide something! I have full POA and all rights to information is within my mothers chart at Brookdale, Biloxi. In addition, they are not allowing my mother to have her records. Please contact me, billing issues and these types of activities seem to be a pattern of Brookdale/Emeritus Senior Living, Inc. throughout the US. As far back as 2009 the evidence of this type of activity has been found.
