Dr. Aversa is one of the most outstanding doctors I have ever had. He is so kind, caring, compassionate, professional, and understanding. Hes also pretty funny! My appointment lasted for a little under 2 hours, all of which Dr. Aversa listened to my concerns and put a plan in place. I left his office feeling heard and understood, and I cant wait to pick up my glasses and make my follow up appointment! The whole staff is welcoming and very friendly as well! Highly recommend!

Super awesome place! I found them online after researching eye doctors who treat binocular vision dysfunction and they were the closest to my area. Dr. Aversa was very nice and the screening was extremely thorough. The rest of the staff was very helpful in helping me get fitted for my glasses. Definitely would recommend!

Dr Aversa is a very caring optometrist. He is very knowledgeable with the balancing of my eyes. He goes the “extra mile” to get answers to my crazy eye problems.

The appointment itself went fine. However, after you get your eyes checked, theres the typical herding you over to the sales person to buy frames and lenses. If you go here, I highly recommend you ask Andrea do your measurements for your PD (pupillary distance). Be careful with your wording because if you mention that you MAY get your glasses online (ya know, cause its 2021 and we all are trying to save money), they will CHARGE you an additional fee ($25) and tell you this is normal market practice. In reality, they are bitter you are not buying their overpriced frames/lenses. I didnt find this out until I was trying to buy glasses online. Imagine my surprise when I called in for them to tell me they didnt do this measurement when I was there (which is necessary to get glasses) because I didnt buy from them directly. At the end of the day, this place isnt any different than your typical salesy eye glass store. If you want a doctor who truly cares about your ability to see and not how much money you are putting in their pockets, stay away.

This was my first visit to Dr. Aversa. I had floaters in my eye. He was very thorough examing my eyes, taking the time to talk to me, answer my questions and never rushing me. And as an added bonus, he is very funny.

I discover Heights Eye Center because I was searching for an Optometrist that could fit me in for an emergency. I wanted a location not far from my home. I left messages at 2 places that fit my criteria. The kind personnel at Heights Eye Center returned my call with a time to see me. I appreciated that the office took all measures to protect us all from COVID19. They email me the forms to complete electronically. They ask that everyone wear a mask and text from outside the office upon arrival. Everyone practice distancing procedures. The place is very clean and sanitized.The staff was kind, courteous, caring and professional. I was treated right away. The procedures were thorough. I am returning for a follow up. Also, to purchase new glasses because there is a wide selection of frames to choose from and my insurance is accepted. I highly recommend Heights Eye Center to anyone looking for quality service with people that care and make you feel welcome.

Amazing place, I defintitly recommend it. The doctor is super nice and extremely helpful. I couldnt find a place to be seen the same day and when I contacted Heights Eye Care they gave me an appointment right away. I filled out the forms online which was super easy and emailed my information. Once I got there I called and wad seen right away.

Like the doctor, but the costs keep rising and they recharge for fitting of contacts even after you have been wearing them at a cost of $130 dollars that is not covered by insurance. Feel totally uncalled for charge.

I have been seeing Dr. Aversa at Heights Eye Center for about 5 years now. I find him to be extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I have terrible allergies and he’s been able to diagnose that and provide meds that gave me quick relief. I also really like Andrea, the technician at the office. Super friendly. Another important point to mention is that on the few times when I’ve had problems with my eyes and been in pain they’ve been able to get me an appointment with fairly short notice. I order my contacts and glasses from here as well and Have never had an issue. It is a very family friendly, close knit office and that’s why I prefer it. Dr. Aversa also seems to keep up with newer options in eye care, such as vision shaping. If you’re looking for a reliable office, try them out!

I would like to start by saying that dr. Aversi and his entire staff were great! They were very kind, and were very professional. Dr. Aversi really took his time with me. Not just with the eye exam, but really dug deep to find out what my symptoms were. He diagnosed me with bvd! I had been suffering for 30 years with imbalance, anxiety, and panic disorder! When I put my glasses on, I felt amazing! Finally! Someone who understood my symptoms, and actually treated them! I would tell anyone who has been diagnosed with anxiety, stomach disorders, imbalance issues, go see dr. Aversi! He truly helped me!

I feel most fortunate to have been helped by him and his staff!

James Aversa, is an excellent optometrist. See how it all started is from my occupation, Im a license electrician based out of Paramus and my occupation requires me to do hazardous electrical applications. The hazardous application was cutting steel with a grinder and not wearing protective eye wear which is critical, Ive learned the hard way. Needless to say Dr. Aversa, confidently, accurately was able to manage removing the steel out of the eye and thoroughly brushing and cleaning the eye out and made sure all foreign objects were removed. Prescribe antibiotics for the eyes one day later feel much better. Im sure that the eye will heal 100% thanks Dr. Aversa. Value lesson I learned the eyes need to be protected at all costs.

Dr. Aversa and his entire staff are incredible! I have been going here for the last 2-3 years and they are simply the best optician I have ever been to. They have quite a few advanced tests which I have never seen before at other offices. All their equipment looks new, are very well maintained and everything is totally digital. Dr. Aversa is quite knowledgeable and approachable, always answering questions with a smile. They have a fairly decent selection of frames, and Andrea is very helpful with picking frames which match your face, look great, and fit very well. If you have an insurance provider they take I highly recommend giving them a visit.

Ive been a patient for years, every year I go for my annual eye exam along with acquiring acnew pair of glasses. The staff has always been attentive to my eyewear needs, right frames and styles. Dr. James Aversa always gets it right the first time around. Dr. Aversa actually spends more time examining and talking to you than an other doctor that I see. He has a great bed side manner, asking you if you have any questions or concerns. When all is said and done my new glasses are ready for pickup within two weeks.

Dr. Aversa is a doctor who takes a keen interest helping his patients improve their vision and, in my case, treat vertical heterophoria. He is pleasant and patient. After a visit, you don’t just have a doctor patient relationship; rather, you feel like old friends.His team are the same. The office people are efficient and friendly. This office is amazing. Just had my first appointment there, and everybody is extremely nice and professional. I had an emergency and they were able to get me in a few minutes after and even gave me three contacts because I had an infection and no other lenses.. which brings me to the doctor who is absolutely wonderful and was very comforting. I didnt have the cash on me so they saidI can pay tomorrow! DEFINITELY THE BEST EYE DOC IN THE AREA. 5 stars!

My 1st appointment with Dr. Aversa was in 2019. He spent a significant amount of time with me including staying later beyond his typical hours. He was patient and kind the entire time working to come up with solutions to my balance difficulties. He referred me to another practitioner for further testing and also reached out to his fellow colleagues to further troubleshoot my difficulties. He got back to me as promised in an appropriate time frame. He allowed me to take home a device to try out rather than having me buy it right off the bat. When I have experienced severe dry eye symptoms he was able to get me in quickly. His staff are also kind and patient and available to provide assistance with getting scripts, setting up tests, etc. Dr. Aversa has reached out to me after his typical hours just to provide further assistance to me. At this point he handles all of my eye issues. He has every type of machine in his office for testing of eye issues. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking an open minded patient doctor.

Dr. Aversa and his staff are THE BEST!!! For the past several years I have developed double vision. I went to a couple of other optometrists for eye exams, but each time I mentioned the double vision it was glossed over—even when I noted that it was interfering with things like driving and working!!!!! Finally, one of the assistants at one of the eye exam places referred my to Heights Eye Center. I can’t begin to tell you the enormous difference this has made in my life! Dr. Aversa is a very patient listener who gives a very thorough exam. He administered tests that no one else had ever done before, and as a result I was fitted with prisms in my lenses to treat the double vision. OMG—quality and SAFE vision again!!! As an added bonus, my almost constant migraines have all but disappeared! They treat you like family here too—enjoy coffee and cookies 🍪 while you wait, no charge 😃!!!! I’ve been coming here for a few years now and have no intentions of going anywhere else.

I recently purchased a home in the area and havent reloacted eye doctors. Well last night my toddler threw a sharp toy and whipped it in my eyeball! Totally scratched my cornea. I called their office this morning telling them its an emergency. I couldnt keep my eye open. It wouldnt stop tearing and was in excruciating pain! Couldnt see!! Well they scheduled me in right away. Dr. James Aversa is the best doctor I have ever seen and is incredibly kind and caring and helped me choose the best eye treatment thats just right for me.
