Strength In Peers is an extremely valuable asset to our community. Their peer to peer support approach for folks struggling with drug use, trauma and mental health provides a much needed alternative to traditional therapy methods. They are assisting the folks in our community who need support the most in the most caring and constructive way. I am so impressed with their level of professionalism, outreach and the success of their many programs.

Its a hard decision to make lasting life changes, and the peer model SIP uses really works. Our community needs this on-the-ground, empathetic, and sustained support for people experiencing homelessness, people who are justice involved, and people managing addictions. While our community leaders and members work on meeting basic community needs like affordable housing, destigmatizing employment for formerly incarcerated people, and relieving impoverishment and hunger, SIP is meeting people at their most vulnerable to help them on their own recovery path with the dignity they deserve. This organization provides support to individuals and their families, strengthening our community with a ripple effect. This organization deserves local, state, and federal community support in both funding and policy changes to keep their work going and expanding.
