Don’t get me wrong the doctors can be great doing the job. But when it comes to transferring over paper work or communicating to you they are bad. They will blame you for the mistakes they make the girls at the front desk could care less. It used to be a great office definitely went a little down hill.

While I have been a patient of Dr. Kumar for almost 10 years, I havent actually seen him in the last several years. Its always another Dr. He had always been patient and thorough, showing great care for me and my concerns. However, since COVID, I needed to get an antibody test. Girl on the phone sounded ignorant, and the way they billed my insurance confirms it. She claimed that I was a new patient, but the bill went through as COVID related. Meaning they got COVID money from the gvt, and billed my insurance as well. I had to pay a copay bc this was a new patient visit. Irony: the visit was 2 minutes on zoom. I am leaving this office, although when I did see Dr. Kumar, he was great. Admin is too greedy for my taste.

I appreciate Dr Kumar, he represents what real medicine is all about..he involves his patients very much in their care. he shows genuine concerns for how u take care of yourself, hes very meticulous, very honest. & most of all hes never been wrong on my diagnosis, & his recommendation on his referrals..i miss having Doctors like him, cause being from the islands he reminds me of our family Dr Fe-rose..Dr kumar also is never in a rush..I ask Jehovah to keep his mind, Heart & hands secure in the mighty name of Jesus..& he never loses himself in this system that were facing hes very much genuine, may his life continue to be bless..Thank Dr Kumar for all your services...

Do not go here! I was charged $120 for an annual physical even though they are covered by my insurance. When I called to get this cleared up the voicemail for the billing office was full and I could not get a call back. My insurance company has contacted them multiple times and have not gotten a response either. It’s been 3 months and at this point I’m not even sure if they have someone working in the billing department. Don’t waste your time here.

The best doctor ever. I have been under d Babu Kumars care since I left Florida in 2003. I put my husband under his care years later. Let me tell you I lost my mother in FL from kidney failure due to high blood. When I got married I moved to Connecticut to be with my husband. That man had a dangerous BP. When I asked him how long that has been going on. He said for years. I said no. You need to switch to dr Kumar. Within a month my husband BP was stable. Thats how good Dr Kumar is. And during the Covid 19. I had just lost my mother inlaw. Few days later my husband became very very very sick from covid after God dr Kumar was the one who treated my husband. Dr. Kumar always take his time to listen and always solve whatever the problem is. May God continue to bless him so that he can continue to do the great work that he is doing. 🙏

I saw Dr Kumar in the spring for a physical for an upcoming hip surgery. I had X-rays and blood tests. A short time later I received a bill from Quest Labs and a statement from Medicare stating I owed $385.47. After several calls to the doctors office and no returned call, I reached an individual that said she would send an appeal to medicare with the correct codes. I faxed your all the paperwork on July 1 and received another bill from Quest at the end of August. I called Medicare and they have no record of an appeal. I called the doctors office several times in September to find out the date the doctors office sent in the appeal and never got a return phone call.

Ive been a patient for over 20+ years. I usually have an appointment but find it convenient that the practice will see walk-ins. Just have to time it appropriately. Recently diagnosed a problem which required quick treatment and hospitalization. Thanks for your concern as I dodged a bullet.

Dr.. Kumar was recommended to me by my insurance company after an automobile accident. I found Dr. Kumar to be extremely professional, kind and informative. Even though it was a very busy day he did not rush through my appointment, and I appreciated that. I have been going back to him ever since.

Cares too much about the Quantity of patients. His bedside manner cant keep up with his intelligent mind he is always in a rush maybe he needs a vacation?? If you truly and I mean truly care about your loved ones dont bring them to his office and Im being honest because sometimes people need a second opinion but he is not that person so please in all honesty avoid him. I wouldnt write such a bad review if it wasnt through experience

This place is an absolute racket. At my annual physical in December of 2018, which is covered 100% by insurance, Dr. Kumar asked me how I was doing. When I told him I was doing generally pretty well, but I’d had a sore shoulder for a couple months, he checked it out. So far, so good. Fast forward a couple months later. I receive an invoice of $86 for an additional “office visit” to diagnose the sore shoulder. Since this is classified as a separate visit, my insurance won’t fully cover it and I’m on the hook for $86. Now mind you, there was no actual additional office visit—this conversation and subsequent shoulder diagnosis took place during my physical! Am I not supposed to tell my physician about joint pain when asked how I’m doing during my yearly physical? What a ripoff artist!!After several months of trying to get this absurd charge rescinded via both my insurance company and directly through his office (where the Billing Manager is always conveniently either on vacation or on administrative leave, making her impossible to get in contact with), I decided to pay it and not deal with a possible late payment red flag on my credit report.I had always heard that his practice’s true area of expertise is making money, and now I know firsthand. I’m never going back there again and I highly advise others to learn from my mistake.

I have been a patient for a long time..My last visit..i waited one hour in the waiting room..finally got called into the back..waited an additional 45 minutes..went to the receptionist..and felt that no one really cared..and left without ever seeing the doctor! I feel they overbook people as it is..and allow walk ins! This office was good awhile back..but had gotten to the point of overcrowded..I called my doctors personal secretary..and explained what had happened..still waiting on a call back with an apology..If you have all day to wait to see a doctor..then go here..I feel MY time is just as important . An hour and fourtyfive minutes..is excessive as far as im concerned, and to not even get an apology from the front desk..is even worse! Im now looking for a more professional run doctor office, and a more compassionate doctor! Just pretty sad..since this office has taken care of both parents..my brother..and myself!

I had an appointment today early in the morning, I arrived early because I knew that I had to fill out paperwork for my new insurance. After I filled out all the paperwork I was told I had a copay of $45. It so happens that this morning I didnt have the $45 on me so I asked if I could be billed for it as Ive done many times before. The person in the front desk said that she couldnt do it and that she had to asked the office manager. After about 30 to 40 minutes of waiting the office manager called me to the front desk and told me that they could do it. Again I told her that Ive do it like this many times before and that there was never a problem, she again said no and asked if I wanted to reschedule for when I had the $45 I told her that I didnt want to reschedule that I was there because I needed to be seen. she AGAIN denied me service and said no AGAIN! I was very angry by this time, I told her to cancel everything, that I would find another place. I have never been so humiliated and embarrassed in my life like I was this morning. After being with Dr. Kumar for more then 20 years, Its very sad to say that I was turned away because I didnt have the $45 copay that she was asking for. Im not even sure if that was even legal or not but one thing is for sure I will never go back there AGAIN!!!!!

Dr. Kumar is a great doctor. There may be a wait depending on the time of day, but finding a physician who genuinely cares is rare these days. I travel from Stamford to see him, because having a great Dr. is worth the commute.

First off, who is the guy in the photos because hes not dr Kumar.... three guy with the tie is. Anyway, I can agree with 80% of these reviews. Kumar does appear rushed but then again, being in the medical field myself, we cant spend too long on one person unless its an dire emergency. Chronic pain (not an emergency), shoulder pain (if chest pain or radiating pain or other s/sx arent involved, its not an emergency). SO.....do I want to find another pcp, yeah. Does anyone else know me like kumar, no!! So 1) why spend more time searching when I can honestly just pay those poorly paid front desk idiots no mind and 2) remind nikita (kumar personal medical assistant) that is her job to respond timely to those messages without an attitude. Ive been with this place since it was on lower dixwell Ave. When he first started, like 100 patients or so and he would call you post- hospitalization and check on you. He has his faults but what doctor doesnt? You tell me a doctor that spends an hour talking to you KNOWING he has 10 people waiting?!

Called prior to make an appointment, when I arrived, they said there was no appointment in the system. I then had to wait 45 minutes to get into dr. office. Also, on the phone they gave me the wrong price for services. She was off by $80. But they were nice when we arrived.

Too over booked, very rushed visits, doesnt really pay attention or look at you much during the visit because hes in the laptop, rude office staff a good deal of the time at the window. Referals are just as big a waste of time getting results also. Going here 20 years but last several years its changed for the worst so I bailed and never been happier. Great for a walk in for cold/flu now when your doctors office is closed if youre in that dire need.

**First off, notice majority of the 5 stars are local guides-- paid for reviews** CARES WAY TOO MUCH ABOUT QUANTITY THAN QUALITY.. I, too, (as reviewer Chelley-7) experience the frustration of the doctor having way too many patients so hes always rushing.. Its like they are on autopilot and dont really care about your needs like a real doctor should; theres no emotion.. They never can do anything at the office, so they refer you EVERYWHERE (thats after waiting almost 2hrs to be seen). You can never stick to an appointment so ya might as well just go in for a walk-in.. Oh, and try calling the office for anything other than making an appointment, YOU GET A VOICEMAIL BOX!

The lady that works evenings at kumar office with the dirty dred locs always has a nasty attitude. This office NEVER HONORS APPOINTMENTS. Kumar is 2busy taking everyones money instead of worrying about honoring appointments! The young ladies in the morning have an attitude and act like they know everything when they dont. The LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE OVER HERE IS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH!!! The paramedics and emts talk behind his back and call him the dumbest doctor in connecticut. That reputation is spreading. He might as well go work for take now
