Of course this planet fitness requires a mask. If thats the case, why not have mask for people? If Im coming for another state or town how am I supposed to know? The front desk could be a bit more polite too. instead of No we dont have masks, try Im sorry, we are out of them how to win friends and influence people should be standard training for any employee

Very clean. Masks on policy enforced. Not terribly busy when Ive been. Friendly and helpful staff, Friendly members for the most part. Thumbs up.!

Hands down the best PF Ive ever been to. Glad to call this my home gym. I (used) to travel a lot for work for extended periods, so Ive been to a few PFs in three different states, and the Hamden one is top-notch. All the equipment is in excellent condition, from the free weights, smith machines, and cardio equipment. Bathrooms are immaculately clean and always smelling fresh. Large location so plenty of machines of all kinds. Staff is friendly and takes care of the place. The air conditioning works well and keeps the place well ventilated. Highly recommended.

This location is super clean, staff is very helpful and friendly, and its a great place to workout. Ive always felt safe working out there throughout the pandemic and will continue to workout there. Mindy brings a positive attitude to the workplace and makes members feel welcomed.

One of the associates interrupted a decline dumbell set of 150lbs to let me know my mask isnt covering my nose which nearly caused an accident. Dont plan on working out too hard here unless you want to be interrupted and put into a potentially dangerous and compromising situation on a Saturday afternoon.

YO! they just switched to being 24 hours on week days! THIS gym is AWESOME. depending on when you go there are a lot of people but the staff are really cool especially the trainers!

Management was awful disrespectful and rude. If it wasnt for the head manager stepping in and correcting the trauma I would have taken my business else where and told as many as possible to boycott amity planet fitness in New Haven CT

Pretty well kept gym. Machines are mostly always clean, in working condition, and available. The mens locker room is always clean as well. No complaints so far.

They keep it clean. And I know its not really their fault but masks are not kept in proper position or even on by guests. One guy literally sat a machine for about five minutes with his mask off his face taking selfies. Two employees walked by, looked at him, and kept going.

I signed up for their no commitment membership. This gym is really nice, quiet, clean. The people seem pretty friendly. For the price you pay per month, this gym offers a great deal. Tons of machines, even some I’ve never seen before. They have to have like 30 treadmills. It’s huge, I was surprised because it’s in a shopping center. I was expecting it to be smaller, so you can say I was pretty impressed when I went in. $15/ month (for no commitment) and $60 initiation fee. That’s pretty cheap compared to other gyms.

I joined in June 2014 and was initially happy with my experience. After I moved to North Carolina, I called to cancel my membership willing to pay the $58 buyout fee. The woman who answered said I could only cancel in person no matter what. I told her that I was in NC and unable to make it to CT. She told me she would look into it and put me on hold (with an attitude). 10 minutes later, she said I would be able to cancel in writing, contradicting her original statement. However, if I wanted to cancel in writing, I would have to write a formal letter addressed to planet fitness stating at least 3 reasons why I wish to cancel my membership along with an enclosed check/money order for the buyout fee, all of which had to be certified, meaning I had to spend another $3 at the post office. Finally after another phone call and sending out the request to cancel, I had finally cancelled my membership. Planet Fitness has terrible customer service and makes it extremely difficult to cancel once you join. Because of the delay in mail (almost 4 days to get there), I missed the deadline and I was charged for another month ($20) and the annual fee ($40). Think about this before you join. I would recommend The Edgenext door if you want a helpful experience. I have had many friends join there and I hear nothing but great feedback about it.

Love the gym. The staff are warm, friendly and personable unlike some higher-end gyms in the area, and Frank the Manager is always helpful with workout tips.. The gym is clean and never over-crowded and I can get my 30-45 minute workout in easily. Love the massage chair and tanning, always available after a good workout. A little slice of heaven.

The only reason I left Planet Fitness was I needed several operations and it would be quite a while until I could get back into working out. I always had a pleasant experience when there. Excellent friendly staff, great environment, and people. Would highly recommend to anyone. When I cancelled I had no trouble at all. Just sent a registered letter.

Gym employee came up to me in the middle of my workout stating there are no bags allowed on the floor. Looked around and pointed out 5 individuals who had gym bags with them while working out. He said, this is a new regulation. Walked up to the front and canceled my membership on the spot. This individual also wear air pods 24/7 and cleans his shoes more then the equipment. I have medication, straps, belt, work clothes, etc in my backpack. Ive worked out there for almost 4 years now and this pushed me over the edge. Literally and figuratively (Im going to edge fitness). Especially considering I hear people talk about belongings being stolen from them basically on a monthly basis. You wont allow me to have a bag on the floor, and you force me to put it into a locker in which I am not allowed to lock. This is absurd. You might as well make a 65+ age limit at this gym because that appears to be who they are catering to.Apart from this. Cables are always well maintained. Machines Well maintained. Owner is an amazing guy who took time out of his personal workout (off the clock) to teach me how to squat. Corporates regulations is whats truly ruining the gym.

A good place for a workout. I need machines, free weights, and kettlebells and PF provides that. I dont like classes so I do not miss that. Everyone is friendly, the place is clean and the machines are in good shape.

Ive been going to Planet Fitness for years. Its perfect for me, has all the equipment I want, and I dont have to wait to get the machine I want. The price is low, the staff friendly, the other clients pleasant, the building clean, what more could I ask for.

I absolutely appreciate and relish my workouts at this Planet Fitness. The workout area is always clean as are the locker rooms and showers. But most of all, the staff are friendly and knowledgable and the people working out are also very welcoming. Its a terrific bargain, sure, but most of all its a non intimidating gym where I can strive toward my fitness goals.

Great gym and great management!! Frank the GM especially...he helped me with a transfer issue. He went above and beyond and shows that TRUE customer service still exists. Would highly recommend this gym.

Ive been a member for several months now and have only a single complaint--that there isnt a large open area for doing stretches and the such. My primary activities are running and climbing--I use this gym as a filler for when I couldnt get out during the day and for training. As such, I think its adequate and a fine deal at $10/mo. Front desk staff are always friendly.Note: It is _no longer_ 24hrs!

I’ve been with PF for 15 years from Marne Street to Diiwell I used to work in the space it currently occupies. So Im very comfortable with location. There appears to be little turnover so I assume they like it too! Clean and warm with excellent friendly staff. I plan on remaining a member for hopefully the next 15 years. Keep up the good work

Meets all the basics youd expect of a Planet Fitness. Kind of dark overall due to all the purple. Also they like to post rules and then not enforce and have strange rules like no rope skipping, maybe because they want you to use one of the many, many cardio machines available. Id like to see a bigger, more lit up stretching area and a platform or two for lifting. Maybe the problem is that its a Planet Fitness. I was gifted a membership, but havent been there for a while. Im sure there are many more members than are actually using the facility.

The place is always packed, the machines are outdated, the bathroom is outdated, and they close early on weekends. Coming from a Washington state Planet Fitness, I am surprised they close early on weekends when people actually go more to the gym. But hey in CT everything closes early.

Oh my God, let me start off by saying that the only reason I joined this gym was cause my friend was a member so I thought lemme give it a try. Since day 1 I hated the place. Machines are not many for regular exercise except for treadmills. The staff is only interested in showing exercises to hit girls and hanging around them and oogling at them. The temperature is not adequately controlled and it smells like sweat everyday. After bearing this for a few months I decided to quit, they told me that if u quit now you will have to pay $58 extra as this was before 12 month term. I asked them to continue it till 12 months and then end the membership. The lady told me that I dont have to come back for cancellation and the contract will end after 12 months. Guess what..... It didnt. They kept charging my bank account and then even charged me extra fee for yearly fee. I went on the same day when I saw this extra charge. The staff there was extremely rude And they didnt reimburse the new yearly fee. The guy named Frank at that gym should be fired, extremely rude, blunt, disrespectful and would try every way to steal your money and give it to planet fitness.

I ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT TIME AT THIS GYM EVERY SINGLE TIME .I CAN ACTUALLY ZONE OUT AND DO A FULL SELCARE INCLUDING A WORK-OUT💪, A MASSAGE, A TANNING, A BODY ENHANCER AND 3 SLICES OF PIZZA🍕...LOL. They suck, its a scam, to unenroll you have to physically go there and if your schedule is hectic they just keep taking your money. And the $10 a month is a scam too

Lifting section tends to be full of the types who sit on the bench and browse Facebook, take up several machines by putting their stuff all over it, talking on the phone, and not cleaning their area. Really wish I could just go in, do my workout, and leave without having to deal with it.
