I had a 10:45am appointment on 10/6/2021 for a rapid covid test. I arrived at 10:40 and signed in. The check-in process—including payment of the $100 fee—was completed at 10:49am (per the receipt they provided). I was told to wait in my car. At 11:20am I still hadn’t been seen, so I returned to the reception desk. I was told that there is only one person in the entire facility who is trained to take nasal samples and that SHE WASN’T EVEN THERE! She was at a different building 5 minutes away. I was told to go there. As I proceeded to drive away, a car pulled into the lot whose driver was wearing medical scrubs. She confirm she was the “tester”. I finally was swabbed at 11:33am, nearly an hour after I arrived. At no point was I told upon check-in that the MD ON STAFF WAS NOT QUALIFIED TO SWAB NOSES (which begs the question: if he’s not qualified to take nasal samples, is he even qualified to practice medicine?) or that the only person who is so qualified was not present. Bottom line: never go to this place!

I believe that Express Care Urgent Care is committing insurance fraud by misrepresenting to patients that COVID testing payments are copays. In my case, I went to get a rapid covid test. The receptionist, Joseline(sp?), told me she needed to check with my insurance company, United Healthcare, as to whether there was a copay for the rapid test. She later told me that the copay was $100. I paid the $100 and got my test. When I got home, I called UHC and was told that Express Care is an in-network provider and that there is no copay for any COVID test, including the rapid test. I next called Express Care and spoke with Joseline. I informed her that UHC stated there is no co-pay. She stated that she knew there is no copay, but that Express Care demands $100 up front anyway because they do not want to have to wait a month to get reimbursed by UHC. I expressed to her that it was insurance fraud to misrepresent payment in full for the rapid test as an insurance copay. Rather than acknowledge the reality, she told me to go ahead and file fraud complaints, which I did with both UHC (which agreed that it is insurance fraud to misrepresent copays) and the State of Connecticut. Importantly, when a UHC representative spoke with Joseline (while I was on hold filing the fraud complaint) and told Joseline that Express Care is not permitted to misrepresent copays, Joseline responded by hanging up on the rep.The reason it is insurance fraud for a provider to misrepresent payment for COVID tests as a copay is obvious: the insured is led to understand that, no matter where they go for an in-network test, UHC would demand $100. In reality, if I went somewhere else, I would not have had to pay upfront for the test and Id still have the $100 in my wallet. By hanging up on UHC after it reminded Express Care that it is not allowed to do what it is doing, it is essentially admitting that the insurance scam (as others have called it in reviews) is being done knowing it is wrong. Stated differently, the alleged insurance fraud seems intentional.

I believe this center is using a rapid HOME test for Covid-19 and over-charging the patient for it. When I questioned why we were being charged since my insurance fully covers rapid testing, the person answering the phone was short with me and stated it’s the center’s “policy.” My 18 year old daughter was anxious to be tested for work-related reasons, so we agreed to this SCAM! I’m going to contact Anthem to inquire and will never go here again.

Got a rapid covid test for my kids. It was easy to set up, the wait was pretty reasonable, and the staff was professional. Also, they took my insurance, unlike the place next door. Would definitely recommend.

Slow workers. Was informed to be 15 minutes early and it is passed my appointment time and still waiting. I dont understand why I had to upload my insurance card if they ask for it upon arrival. Also, I’ve never had to pay out of pocket or any deductible so to tell me that if I wanted a faster covid test that my deductible could be up to $100 is ridiculous. First and last time at this greedy slow place.

The ladies running the front desk do not understand the difference in different covid tests needed for travel and trying to charge everyone coming in when we have all the right information in writing of what tests are needed…no wonder there are so many openings because they’re telling everyone calling that the “rapid antigen test” is not the right test for Cruise or flying, currently As a fully vaccinated person I do not need to have the PCR test for cruising or flying from CT to Miami….only a rapid Antigen Test as stated….the owner might want to inform the front desk and educate them because you are losing a lot of money and customers due to their lack of knowledge and very rude manners. Although the one admitting the tests was very kind I didn’t get her name.

I was told it was THEIR policy to not take my insurance (Connecticare) for a rapid covid test and that the cost would be $100. This was a complete lie since I knew I’ve been rapid tested before at no cost. I went to a different place 20 minutes later, got the rapid test at no cost. These guys are profiting off of desperate people who need help during a pandemic. Absolutely awful.

I called several times to speak with the provider in regards to my health ; The receptionist told me she don’t care why I’m calling and hung up in my face . I had to call from a different number but of course she hung up in my face again . I have never been so mistreated at any medical facility. They were very unfriendly and very unprofessional. Would not help me on the phone with answering my questions or passing the message along to the provider to return my call . I am also going to file a complaint for this office for falsifying documents!!! Also , violating HIPPA yelling out my business through the glass with a room full of patients .I will never visit this office ever again . I would not recommend this to anyone . Went back to get a note for work .they would not give me the note they should have given me the first visit because they made me give an additional $25 to give me the noye,ripped me off ,I will never go to this urgent care again very $ oriented didnt care about about the person, just wanted my cash for a note.very ride and unprofessional, list a good customer.

This place is great! I had an appointment much later in the day but I went in because I saw the lot was empty and they were so cool I got in and out as a new patient in less than 45 minutes. Monique at the front was super cool and the doctor who treated me was actually really hot! And very nice.

Quick painless covid test, cheap cost

Giving 2 stars because I’m overall disappointed in the interaction I had.Went to the clinic with a sore throat asking to be looked at. I was refused treatment unless I had a Covid test- their rapid test was $100 with my insurance. I simply walked out and went to a different clinic.At the other walk-in the doctor immediately looked at me and treated me- he didn’t even bother to test for Covid because I so obviously had strep. (As a precaution I took a FREE Covid test at CVS which came back negative.)As a medical professional one should know that a common illness doesn’t always mean Covid. I don’t think they should have asked for $100 before even considering the possibility that it might not be covid. I don’t think it was fair to deny me treatment when I had a common illness that’s easily fixed with a prescription. The whole thing just didn’t seem right to me, especially since I was treated so much better at a different walk in.

Every time I visit, I have an awesome experience. No issues! And if you want a rapid covid test - schedule it online and they will give you an appointment quickly. I recommend family and friends for sure!

Despite the name of this clinic they are slow.... not express. I went in around 4pm and sat there for 40 mins without the women at the front desk even speaking to me. There was no one else in the waiting room. I just feel like working in this field you also have to have good customer service, this women could’ve said “hello I’m a little busy but I’ll be with you in a few.” Really anything would’ve been better than saying nothing at all. I left and went to physician one urgent care down the block in the plazas, they are quicker, more professional and offer more services..

Got Covid test and was able to sign up for a same day appointment and pre-fill out all paperwork online so the process was very smooth. Checked in and then waited in my car until the test. I called to ask a very simple question and the women that answered the phone was very rude and hung up in my face. I know during this time everyone is experiencing a lot of stress but that is no way to treat anyone no matter the circumstance. This women was very unprofessional and I would be embarrassed if she was a representation of my business and customer service. Very poor attitude.

Worst clinic I ever visited in my lifetime, I had Flue, and needed and immediate care, and medicine, the doctor said: its only a virus, get some tylenol and you will be good, I paid $10 for the co-op, I replied to the doctor, this the worst $10 I ever paid in my life.

Could I give zero stars?Im there with my children after an exposure. I made an appointment through their Solv app an had a confirmation text. They interrupt me saying who I am and the patient name, How old? I answer, and I said we have an appointment later for my second and they interrupt, How old? and then are silent and look at me. I am like... Is it okay that they are children? They say yes. They look at me, then at their computers, and said We gave away your appointments because even though you made the appointment and got the confirmation, because you didnt check your email and further fill out your forms we gave away your appointment.I explain, that I am a nursing home 40 nursing home patients I saw yesterday, all on quarantine because of their exposure to me until I get myself and my children tested after my accidental direct exposure outside of work, and from the kindness of their hearts, could they please see us and swab us, the parking lot and waiting rooms are empty, and theyre like, nope, we gave away your appointments. I explain my situation to them, and they say Yeah we know about the pandemic haha!.... Because, sure, youre in an office, and while Im tell you how Im around dying people all day long and standing in front of you in tears because of this terrible app system, please, have a chuckle that youre busy with nose swabs.Further, the building is in tatters. Its run down, the inside smells damp, and Im not sure if they could have been any more rude.

First time here today. I explained my issue with my finger swelling prior to filling out paperwork. My finger need to be drained due to Cellulitis. I was paying cash, charge was taken off my debit card. After weight, height and pressure taken. I waited in the room for the doctor to come in. She walked in telling me she cant do anything before even seeing my finger. She glove up squeeze my finger a few times and asked if it hurts. Offered a prescription of antibiotics.Are urgent cares just collecting money without actually providing hands on medical care?Is it lack of training or experience?What was the point of paying $120?DONTGO HERE!

I went there to update my DOT medical card, very quick process friendly staff, ladies at the front desk were attentive and professional with handling my needs. One in particular Ms. Ashante A. made sure even after the examination to remind me if I needed anything else i can come back for any and all medical needs. Express urgent care at this location has definitely gain my business with needed again in the future.

What I like most, is that the wait is not too long.

It was so unfortunate that the young lady clearly didn’t want to work. She shared with me everything she could not do verses looking for a solution. She didn’t even look in her computer to check to see my children’s information. She actually told me to go down the street to another office which couldn’t meet our needs. Granted she maybe thought it would be easier for us but it was not what we needed. From the jump she was inpatient and inconsiderate. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I have been to Express Care several times. Its always been a great experience. This last visit was for tests for clearance for surgery. Amanda, Linda, and Affan were professional, efficient, and helpful. The surgery was a success and I thank Express Care for assisting me along the way. I highly recommend!

I just want to say this place is amazing. Whoever thought Id be saying that about an Urgent Care but let me tell you last week I was VERY sick. I went to take my 15 month old baby boy that had a rash and all of the sudden by the time I got there I was feeling pretty bad - fever, swollen sore throat. Arianna the Medical Assistant was so great. She saw I was struggling there alone with my son she was so helpful and compassionate. Eric Black took care of both of us. Very very patient with my son which was all over the place and didnt want to be touched by strangers. I ended up having to go back the next day because I was feeling worse and they both again took care of me very kindly and patiently with the extra treatment I was given I started feeling better the same day and I was not charged for the additional visit since it was follow up within 7 days. Theyve since called to follow up and see how we are doing. I highly recommend this place. They are quick, kind, compassionate and clinically apt to treat the young and old alike. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I went to Express care urgent care for the first time last wednesday for a cut on my finger. Although, from the outside, the building looks small, scary and dingy, BUT inside, I was greeted by a pleasant staff and an even more pleasant, charming young pa. He put me at such ease, telling me that I needed stitches but talking to me during the entire procedure telling me exactly what he was doing and answering all my questions along with asking questions about me in general just to make the time pass by. In all my years of dealing with medical professionals, this interaction was one of the top experiences i have had with health professionals. He was not hurrying me out the door as some doctors do, he was making sure i was 100% comfortable. For that very reason, i will continue to visit this urgent care and recommend others to visit as well. Thanks Afton and the staff for all your help handling my care!

Ive been going to Express Care Urgent Care for two years now and Ive always been extremely happy with the care Ive received there. Starting with Linda, their wonderful medical assistant, the entire support staff is friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Ive seen several of their PAs, and Ive very much appreciated their care and expertise.

Be aware. I went in for a physical. They did extra tests to super charge more money from my insurance. Depending on your coverage you can. End up paying so much more. My insurance covers annual check ups. Not with Urgent Care. Dont be a victim of their profiteering. Disgusting method of practice.

This office and the staff are by far the best! Destiny was such a pleasure & so we’re the others. I came in feeling terrible and they made me feel such at ease regardless how bad I was feeling. I don’t usually go to urgent cares but this was a wonderful experience !

STAY AWAY. Asked if they were able to test me for strep throat because they were the only facility open at 5:30 on a Sunday. I was turned away 30 minutes before they closed. The only way I was able to be seen was if I gave, what I presume to be the nurse, a ride home. Yes, ONLY if I gave one of the workers a ride home was I able to be seen.This is a joke of a health care facility. They do not deserve to be open in the health care industry.

I went there for a skin irritation on a Thursday afternoon and was greeted and treated promptly.Dr. Chaudhry was so efficient and thorough and recognized what I would need from the pharmacy right away and called it in for me to pick up. In addition, she gave me a very good general check up and made some suggestions since I had not been to the doctor in quite a while.This will be my first choice as a walk in clinic going forward.

I did my immigration physical examination in Express Care Urgent Care in April. The whole experience was unpleasant. When I got a positive PPD result, they told me to go to a designated imaging center to take an X-ray test, at an out-of-pocket expense (around 85 dollars), without any further explanation or clarification. In the end I found out that in fact one can do the X-ray test at any place. The whole process was long and tough: there involved a lot of talking, and a lot of travel back and forth. What makes me more frustrated is that one of the young women at reception desk is very rude and impatient regarding my situation: she insisted that I should go to the designated center; she informed me (incorrectly) that the X-ray result from external sites can only be received via fax.Notice that the total expense that one pays out of pocket for an immigration physical examination at this site is actually more than 199 dollars: in addition to the charges for regular physical (199 dollars) and for vaccine, there are lab fees (around 100 dollars in my case), fees for X-ray/CT examination (around 85 dollars), and so on, which may or may not be covered by your insurance. That is, the actually total expense can be around 400 dollars.In summary I will not recommend this place for immigration physical exams based on my experience. For those who need such exams, I hope this comment with my experience is helpful to you.

My Son got bit by a bee and I wasnt able to tell if the stinger was still in his finger. i was there for about 10 mins and decided to leave. In the 10 mins I was there I felt unwelcomed. The lady at the front desk was so rude, I told her i no longer wanted to be seen because my son is doing fine and the first words that come out her mouth is I just charged your card. I said cant you refund it she says yea, then tells me I can go out the back door. Didnt give me a receipt and just dismissed me. The nurse who wasnt even assisting me had to say have a good day. I told them I would never come back because of her. It really made me sad that she would treat me like that for no reason.

Honestly went to this urgent care on 3/ 24/18 . It was the worst experience ever!! I do NOT RECOMMEND! I recently went to my nearest health care walk in and found out I had more diagnoses! This urgent care did not tell me anything ! And the staff is horrible ! When I was telling the “Doc “ my symptoms she continued to roll her eyes ! And her body language told me she didn’t care ! Now I’m suffering with earaches /headaches/sinuses / fever and etc! I will NEVER GO TO ANY URGENT CARE AGAIN! Especially this location! To anyone that reads this PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!

This place was great. I had to bring my daughter here, she was having an Asthma attack. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They got her in there quickly gave her her meds and also diagnosed an ear infection. Was only there about 30minutes. I would definitely go again. Went there last night for a check up since my daughter wasnt feeling well and I was starting to feel crappy. Eric was very professional and answered all of my questions. He did a rapid flu test on me and it came out positive, so he put me on meds with thorough instructions. I was impressed by the wait...there wasnt one and the cleanliness of the clinic. Ill be recommending urgent care in hamden to everyone I know and using it for myself and family from here on out.

Waited for 2 hours without being seen for a simple office visit. I was in at 11 and left out after 2!!! I will never go there again. The PA had me waiting in the room for an hour while he was seeing patients that came after me. Worst service ever.

Broke my hand a year ago. Was taken in very promptly. Everyonr was very nice and informative and set everything up for me tonget the surgery i needed.

Express Care was suggested by a friend because of the hours of operation, left work today 10/13/18 at 6pm arrive at Express Care at 6:15pm and the office is closed but the flashing business light say open 8-8, the business vm stated they are open every day 8-8 hmmm 🤔
