The only issue I have is that one Dr. Astrachan showed up late to my surgery was scheduled for 7-15 he walked through the door at 7-30. Other than that he really does do his best to make you feel like youve known him. The Nurses at North Haven medical are great I have anxiety and lets just say I made them work for their check this week. If i have any issues with my ears nose or throat Ill be going to Dave Astrachan.

This Dr is extremely rude and unprofessional.Instead of being interested in my condition. He was grilling me and more interested if I have been vaccinated or not.When we discussed it he was very irritated swore and basically started belittling me. When I tried to respond he didn’t want to listen. I would not recommend

Dr. Astrachan did a phenomenal job fixing my deviated septum. He easily diagnosed my condition during our first visit, and now- one month post-op- I am breathing better than ever. I highly recommend his services.

I wish I found him sooner. After a year of being misdiagnosed several times Dr. Astrachan was able to figure things out on the first visit. What a great doctor. Staff was very nice and professional. I highly recommend this practice.

I had to get my ear wax removed due to heavy blockage and some ear infection. As soon as I got into his office, he uses a curet to remove the ear wax. It was painful to say the least. I was visibly in pain and verbalized to him that it was painful. He sounded irritated once I addressed this. And he tried it again, and instead of adding more softener, he was aggressively using the tool to take it out. I was in near tears and I told him it was painful. He sounded bothered. I understand the difficulty when an ear wax is hardened and impacted, but I don’t understand the outright rudeness and condescension towards a patient’s concern. I do not recommend him.

Both of our children and I have been patients of Dr. Astrachan’s for over 19 years. He is an exceptional doctor who takes the time to actually listen to his patients. He provides thorough explanations and plans of care that work for his patients. When you are in the office, even though he is busy, he takes the time to make you feel like you are his only patient. His staff is very good, especially Vanessa who is excellent at her job and providing patient centered care. Highly recommend!

Dr. Astrachan is brilliant - he diagnosed what 2 other “specialists” missed and performed surgery on me ASAP.Within one day I feel so much better!This is one “specialist “ that definitely knows what he’s talking about and I’m very happy with his team’s performance...he’s the best and highly recommended.

I saw Dr. Astrachan after a few visits to other ENT’s who told me I was just fine. I am glad I asked for a third opinion and found out I had severely deviated septum and a GERD. Annoying Throat clearing stopped immediately after an over the counter medication and I completed septoplasty with Dr. Astrachan. I am a different person now, able to sleep and breath after so many years of suffering. I highly recommend this doctor.

Doctor Astrachan performed an incredible sinus surgery on me that completely changed my quality of life and continues to do so almost 20 years later! I had horrible sinus issues most days and was often sick with sore throats, sinus infections and strep. Since the sinus surgery I rarely get a stuffy nose and get sick only a couple times each year. I am able to breathe perfectly with my mouth closed. After the surgery breathing through my nose was unobstructed and felt like someone had suddenly turned on a tap all the way on;a waterfall of air! The difference is so dramatic it is practically miraculous! Thank you Doctor Astrachan!

I went to Dr. Astrachan for hearing testing and hearing aids. The hearing testing was thorough. I then went to the woman in the office who orders the hearing aids. Luckily my insurance covers the cost of the hearing aids themselves. However, Dr. Astrachans office charges $950 per ear for tech support for one year. For the 2 hearing aids this was a cost of $1900 that they wanted upfront before ordering the hearing aids. This was non-negotiable and no payment arrangements could be made. After checking with my insurance company, this is an unusual practice and more like selling you an insurance policy required before they would order the hearing aids themselves. Dont go here for hearing aids!

Excellent doctor, very knowledgeable. Explained clearly what the problem was, gave me all options for dealing with it. When he performed surgery his staff gave great support throughout the process, and the result was outstanding. Cannot recommend him highly enough.

The doctors were terrific, my issue is with the rude office staff. When I first made an appointment I explained my financial situation and they agreed to accept what my insurance paid and to wave my copay, well after 4 office visits and 6 months of time a woman ”Mary” calls and she is rude, unwilling to have any type of conversation and keeps demanding I pay the balance.Well then I get the privilege of speaking to the office manager “Sue” and she starts off normal then degrades into a aggressive condescending, attitude. She quickly starts dismissing anything I said and the moment you have the nerve to challenge anything the all mighty “Sue” says she will become even more rude, aggressive and use any power she has to threaten and intimidate. I fell sorry for any person especially any elderly person that has to interact with this office.I am ver happy with the actual trained staff and doctors, but the untrained bullying office staff ruins the whole experience.

I went to Dr Astrachan after being told by the specialist in Danbury that surgery wasn’t needed for my deviated septum,and to use nasal sprays that were not working. Dr Astrachan told me the problem that re-confirmed my general practitioners exam. The surgery was worth the hour drive I can breathe 💯 better ,also my voice quality is so much clearer

After years of suffering frequent sinus infections...I have found relief!!Everything was explained to me in great detail. All my questions were answered. Dr Astrachan and his staff are great. You are seen at your appointment time and do not have to wait. The Dr was referred to me and I will continue to refer him to anyone needing an ENT Dr.

Dr. Astrachan is the best doctor I have ever had the privilege of being a patient for. He corrected numerous problems for me surgically 14 years ago this July and I have been able to breath out of both nostrils when before seeing him I couldnt. He is a blessing here on earth. If you want the best, see him!

This review has nothing to do with Dr. Astrachan.Had blood work test result. Was told that I might have lupus by this medical assistant. Went to see my primary doctor and was told that my result barely came out positive and was told that the word “Lupus” should have not been mentioned. Whenever I have questions, I can never ever talk to the doctor, the medical assistant always answers. It is not professional for making a patient nervous by hearing something that he/she didn’t have to hear.

Excellent ear dr, 3rd one I saw, he actually offered advice, and cleaned out my ears, and diagnosed better.

Dr. Astrachans expert opinion helped me through three performances when I could not phonate. I am a professional opera singer and fell extremely ill 3 days before a premiere. I went to a local ENT and saw a PA that gave me the wrong advice. The day of the performance, I woke up to my voice hanging by a thread. I reached out to Dr. Astrachan and he immediately gave me advice and guidance to get through the performances. Without him, I would have lost a premiere and a paycheck. Ive had to see Dr. Astrachan twice now for broken noses and he has been amazing. His office staff is welcoming, quick and easy to schedule surgeries, he is always on time for appointments, down to earth and professional, and both times now my nose is back to tip top shape!

Doctor Astrachan can work wonders for a deviated septum. I have always had a deviated septum and put off seeing an ENT doctor my whole life (29 years), but I fell and broke my nose in November. That’s when I knew I had to do something. I used these reviews to pick my doctor. I met with him and he is very knowledgeable and caring. He suspected me of having sleep apnea and recommended me to a specialist before I go through with the surgery. Turns out he was right! After that was taken care of I went back to discuss a surgery date and it turns out he had a cancellation right before the new year. It was only 3 or 4 days out so his team rushed to get the insurance to sign off on it and fast forward 3 1/2 weeks later I feel like a new person! I can breathe again. Dont do what I did and research about septoplasty, none of that is true with Dr. Astrachan. He had me in and out in no time. Best part is my insurance paid for the whole thing! If you cannot breathe properly do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Astrachan.
