Don’t go anywhere else. I don’t necessarily claim dentist offices as ‘safe’ or ‘welcoming’ environments but this one was. I haven’t been to the dentist for a cleaning in years and felt very self conscious about my teeth. My hygienist caught onto this and reassured me and made me feel really safe. From the receptionists greeting to the cleaning itself, I felt like I was in good hands.

I’m the type of person who fears the dentist. This place is the best. Everyone who works there is super nice. I’m never going to another place again.

Love the staff!! Super friendly and efficient. I love Shery she holds the practice together. Any billing questions you have she is the go-to person. She is very efficient. Dr. OBrien along with the hygienist are amazing.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive to my needs, and Maria is simply at the top of her profession. I cannot say enough good about her.

In March 2021, I had the pleasure of getting my teeth cleaned by Maria in the Hamden office. The experience was quite refreshing as I received a thorough cleaning and information about different aspects of dentistry as it pertained to my situation. It was clear that Maria cared about her profession, her patient, and New Haven Dental Group. As much as I dislike the idea of going to the dentist, Maria made the experience entertaining, informative, and engaging. I was searching for a diamond, but I received a jewel! Bravo Maria!! Youre stuck with me for life!

Dr. Pucci, Periodontist, and Tech, Maureen were great for my first implant experience. Both kept me informed and comfortable. And Cheri in the office made sure the claim with Aetna was processed smoothly!

Tooth problems are the worst for it could more than ruin a day but one thing for sure, it is certain to test one’s endurance to pain so getting a dentist appointment immediately to relieve a tooth and gum pain was my immediate and only concern one Friday afternoon about a month or so ago.But it was also past 5 so what is one to do?Lucky for me, I was able to reach Cheri Gibson, the office manager at the Hamden office of NH Dental Group to whom I relayed my dilemma and who promptly assured me that I could and would be seen but by a different dentist at their Woodbridge office the following day, Saturday, if I am agreeable.After thanking her for making me feel better (already!) I sighed for the huge relief she has given me.The same circumstance reappeared several days ago and like before, I reached out to Cheri once again who arranged (squeezed actually) an appointment for me with our dentist Dr.Kevin O’Brien the following day.My wife has been a patient of Dr. O’Brien much longer than I and her high regard for him was the reason I decided to go with him as well and countless appointments with him had proven it to be a wise judgment.Dr. O’Brien I have observed is a very fine doctor and a very decent man who speaks to us from a perspective that makes us feel respected and appreciated, which naturally warms the heart and mind.And unsurprisingly that theme is repeated by everyone we have interacted with at that office. My experience with NHDG has been nothing short of amazing. Everyone from the Dentists to the support staff have been phenomenal. As a patient, you are treated with respect and shown compassion. I HIGHLY recommend you at the very least setup a consultation so you can see what Im talking about.

I came here twice so far for regular cleaning for me and the kids (3 and 9 y.o.). Both times were amazing with Dr O’Brien but mostly the hygienists who took care of us. We were with Cathy today and she was AMAZING with my 9 y.o. son.. took time to remind him about the proper way of brushing and flossing, asking us if we had any questions every step of the way. Lots of jokes to make sure he is comfortable. Listening to all our concerns.. in short she was the best out there. The place overall looks very well maintained, receptionists full of smile and greeting us on our way in and out. Love this place and definitely recommend it.

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at New Haven Dental Group. I had a negative dental experience during a “simple” yet extremely painful cleaning elsewhere that made me totally avoid getting any dental care for several years. Dr. O’Brien and his ENTIRE team are AMAZING. From the ladies at the front desk to the dental assistants the entire staff is warm, welcoming, pleasant, and reassuring. Since coming to this office they have made me confident about going to the dentist and getting the care I need. I can’t thank them enough for that.

I have been a patient here for just about 3 years. Always having a great experience from the front staff, the hygienist and the doctors. My most recent visits post covid 19 shut down I was taken care of by Maureen, Alisha, Sherry, Dr Pucci and Dr OBrian. Scheduling was tricky especially since I needed quite a bit of work prior to July 7th and they were able to get me and cared with much compassion, dignity and just great patient care. I Thank them all for all that they were able to do for me.

No matter what dental hygienist I have during my visit, sometimes I have to change my scheduled visit, they are always extremely nice and keep me well informed. I am undergoing the procedure for a dental implant. It was a painless experience with Dr. Dean on Friday. She is a superb periodontist and dental surgeon. I have been coming to New Haven Dental for over 15 years and I have always recommended your services to anyone who inquires about dental care. I have always gotten top notch care from all the dentists and Sue, the dental hygienist in the practice.

I have been going to the Hamden location of New Haven Dental for about 1.5 years now. Everyone I have met has been so great and accommodating. Cathy has always done my cleanings and is wonderful! I’ve always hated dentist appointments but she has always been so easy to talk to and makes me feel like I’m talking with a friend. I highly recommend this place!

First off I was very impressed with the offices efforts to inform me that the Dr was running a bit late so I could take some time before driving there. The office staff is pleasant and very easy to deal with. Ive followed Dr. OBrien for many years and always find him to be professional (aka great work) and also just a heck of a nice guy. His assistant Sabrina was kind, reassuring and has a very pleasant personality. A filling was on the menu. All went very well and took much less time than I expected. The Dr. explained the steps involved. as I was interested in some of the nitty gritty. So as you can tell, Im part of their fan club :-)

New Haven Dental is a comprehensive practice- one stop shopping with great availability of locations and appointment times. All members of our family are in their care- ranging in ages from 16 to 80 years old. Always satisfied with the professional level of attention and care.

I visited NHDG this morning for my semi-annual cleaning. Ive been coming here for six years, because my hygienist is thorough but gentle, and informs me about areas that I need to pay special attention to. My hygienist is professional but also personal, as shes taken the time to know me and my interests. Wait Time today was 3 minutes..

I had an appointment with the dental group and the day before they called and demanded my insurance information which was at home at the time. I offered to send it over via email and call the next day before my appointment and they said I need to ask my HR department what my insurance information is. I did not have enough time (while on the clock at work) to do this so I reached back out asking to reschedule and the person that answered hung up on me after I said I wanted to reschedule. Very pushy and impatient staff, I can only imagine how they treat you in the office.

Great experience overall. Very professional.

I am usually terrified of the dentist. I always needed the nitrous gas. Dr. OBrian talked to me and explained everything. He asked if I wanted to try without it, because it wasnt a bad cavity. He also told me if anything happened, even the smallest thing, if I raised my hand we would completely stop and reassess. He also said if I needed the gas,, we could still do it. I hardly felt the novicane needle, thats always the worst part for me. He made me feel comfortable and in safe hands. I havent always had good dentists. My family is so proud and amazed that I didnt get the gas!!!I also had gone there before and they gave me the gas because I was so nervous. She was so kind and understanding. Made sure I was okay the whole time. She even remembered the name of my stuffed animal I bring. She also explained the gas to me and how it works. She told me that the other dentist had actually been overdosing me on it. (They kept watch on my oxygen, bp and breathing, Ive never had that done before).I am so glad I didnt go back to that old dentist. (Dr. Leary of Serene smiles...dont go to her!)This practice is the best I have ever been to. And I look forward to working with them for a long time!
