They sent a letter to the accused abuser and broke confidentiality. Not safe. If you do not want your abuser to know do not go here. They send the abuser an automatic letter and on it there is the report date and the law enforcement department contacted.

Not helpful and rude. I contacted this shelter two times regarding a single incident when I was beat up and strangled and both times Ive called they have been unhelpful. The first time the last refuse to help and said all she can do is advice me to get a restraining order and then hung up. The second time I called later on in the day the lady was very clueless. Said no one could help me until Monday (todays Saturday) they are useless in trying to learn what rights you have as a victim and as far as getting information as far as what to do after being assaulted. So now I have to go home back to the same man that chocked me out this morning.

I lived in CASA for a bit years ago. I felt safe, which I believe is their main concern. They do not allow men in the building, not even for deliveries or donations... it really makes you feel at ease knowing they could help. Not only did they pick me up in a cab, they spoke to me on the phone several times until I found a good time to leave. They also organized a safe place to house my cat so my abuser could not get to me by harmer her... *ladies they have programs for your fur babies while youre there figuring it all out- my fur baby even got her shots and all while I was away from her, they did great things for me*I cant say it was a 4 star hotel, but i had a bedroom, a bed, all the food i could ever wish for and safety where i couldnt be found. If youre being harmed, thats more than you could ask for. I happened to be there iver christmas and the public even gifts the ladies presents...i mean... not that we need them, but it makes you feel good knowing you have some where that you can be taken care of. They also offer job help, transitional housing...everything. dont wait if you think youre unsure of this place. . You will be happy you made the step.
