Dr. Ryan was recommended to me by a friend. I scheduled an appointment for my husband who has been dealing with back pain for years after serving in the Army. I accompanied my husband to the appointment to know whats going on. I have to say after the first visit my husband already has less pain. Dr. Ryan is very knowledgeable and I love how he doesnt pressure you to schedule another appointment right away. He gives you time to feel the difference and to schedule another appointment when you feel you are ready. He was able to relieve some tension and pain in my neck and back as well after my husbands appointment. Couldnt be happier with the visit! I have had back problems for 3 years now derived from a bad car accident. I did physical therapy for some time after an MRI discovered a herniated disc. I proceeded with a surgery to remove the fluid, it helped for less time than it did to recover from the surgery. I was jumping around from chiropractors to physical therapist, giving me relief while there or even after the session for a couple hours but mostly ongoing pain. After a year the fluid returned pinching my nerve yet again! Dr. Ryan has a very distinct method than all the rest. He has gained my full trust. Its easy to tell that he has his heart and mind in his work, this is his passion. I would go to a chiropractor and I would be in and out within 15 minutes, not the case here. I am 100% satisfied and extremely appreciative for his services. This is the first review I have ever done but if it helps someone, I RECOMMEND THEM!! I love this place. I found it after moving here a few years ago. Ryan has a discipline just like my old chiropractor I had back home that I took many years to find. Along with some new technology that really compliments his style and is of great benefit to me. He does not try to corner you into a maintenance schedule that can be very costly. For about 20 years I have been suffering from severe back pain. I was told I had a herniated disc and my only option was surgery. I went through periods of epidural injections, physical therapy, and even acupuncture. There was no way I was going to let anyone surgically mess with my spine. I cant say enough great things about Dr. Ryan and his practice. Long story short, my back pain and associated issues started when I was a pre-teen. Thirteen years later after seeing multiple other doctors including other chiropractors, Dr. Ryan was able to identify the cause of my pain after one consultation and a few specific x-rays. Turns out I have a functional leg length discrepancy that was not discovered previously by anyone. Dr. Ryan suggested a shoe insert on my short side and I almost instantly felt a difference. This lifestyle change combined with specific exercises to re-train muscles after years of misuse, and a chiropractic adjustment every couple of weeks has been a game changer. If you have gone to multiple doctors/specialists without any relief, please talk to Dr. Ryan no matter what you might be experiencing! Hes the absolute best and I would not be sitting here pain-free without his expertise. Hes honest, straight-forward, and if he cant help you hell tell you and/or recommend you to someone who can (unlike other doctors who have thought they had the answer only for me to waste time and money with no results or even MORE pain). If only I would have discovered his practice sooner!

Very happy with my experience. Dr. Ryan from day 1 was able to diagnose multiple issues that other doctors tried masking with medication. I came in in tears living with chronic neck pain and constant head pressures and headaches. I explained what I felt and after a very thorough comprehensive exam, was able to diagnose a high school injury from 12 years ago, confirm a curvature located on my upper spine and explained the impact from these issues that confirmed what Ive been dealing with for so long. Following day 1, I was set on regiments that slowly assisted in correcting both issues I had. Please note that this doctor teaches you as you get treated. He is not a doctor that you should go to if you expect a 5 minute crack to your back and be done. His views better assist those who want to recover and learn what is causing the issue and at the same time is teaching you how to prevent future injuries. Word of advice, if he recommends ANYTHING. You do it and let the magic happen. If you are looking for a legitimate chiropractor with a lot of knowledge who genuinely cares about correcting your issue, this is the one you need to contact immediately. Dont live another day with issues like I had for 12+ years. Just saying.

I had a great experience with Dr. Ryan and his staff. New to the area and in need of some help with a back issue, there were no appointments available that day. Dr. Ryan was nice enough to offer me a 7pm time (office closes at 7pm), which turned into an hour of his time. Really meant a lot to me, that he would go above and beyond. As for the office, it is one of the nicest Ive been in. All the equipment is either new and looks to be, which makes a difference when making sure you are getting the best care.

Thanks to Dr. Ryan and his team, I no longer have back and neck pain! And, an issue for which I initially did not even think to seek treatment from Straight Up Spine and Posture - constant and severe headaches, is completely gone! I give Dr. Ryan and his assistant Jenna my highest recommendation. I can confidently say that I have been to at least 6 chiropractors in the past 15 years and Dr. Ryan is for sure on the top of this list. I was impressed by Dr. Ryans knowledge and ability to explain anatomy and how it can relate to specific symptoms. He is science oriented, patient and will spend time to help you. On top of that he has several technologies which he uses precisely and incrementally in order to help fix up your spine. The spine is imaged (if needed) and then he calculates distances and angles between bones in order to monitor progress. In this crazy, unknown time, everyone is scared and doing their best to stay home. Unfortunately for me, I happened to hurt my back, badly. Dr. Ryan Winslow in Gurnee is, by far, the best chiropractor that I have ever worked with. I have a very complicated situation with my back and he is the only doctor that has, actually, taken the time to help me feel better. I have scoliosis and was told by my surgeon that I need a 5 level fusion. Dr. Ryan, on the other hand, has me on a program that has successfully stabilized my curvature and continues to provide me with very specific exercises to address my back issues. Dr. Ryan is good! I went there not thinking much could be done about the sharp pain near my tail bone but over the 2 visits my pain level went from 10 down to a solid 3 (Based on 1-10 rating). Plus Dr. Ryan will give you some real good advice on the problems you have.

Firstly they were open and took me in as a new patient same day so I was very grateful for that. Dr Ryan was very thorough, and knowledgable which he patiently shared so was quite informative. He spent a long time evaluating, explaining and treating my ailment. I left in significantly less pain than when I arrived.

Even after having some time off from needing regular appointments, when I had an extreme back pain issue flare up he made the time to see me and take care of the issue. Nothing but praise to Dr. Ryan. Had seen another Chiro, had PT and a spinal injection. All with no relief. After a few sessions, my back started to feel better. Had decompression and adjustments. In the middle of my treatment, I had a tour of NYC scheduled. Wasnt sure I would be able to do much. But my back felt great. one day my step count was 8 miles and another day it was 7 miles. So thankful for this. Dr. Ryan is professional and office hours are very accommodating. Liked the fact that he didnt need my 35 allowed visits to help my pain. Absolutely a wonderful place to go for back problems, neck, shoulders, hips elbows and hands. When I go in I know Im in very capable hands and Dr. Winslow is one very nice man. The receptionist is his girl Friday and does a wonderful job checking up on us and working the books and phones.

Ive seen numerous chiropractors for my lower back pain. None seem to help. I was referred to Ryan Winslow by a friend and so far it has been a great decision. He is very knowledgeable and has been very helpful in finding techniques for me to help strengthen my muscles in my problem areas. Even better, he shows me how to do them so I can do them at home. That way Im not stuck in the office for hours doing the exercises and a lot easier on my schedule. The decompression table has been very helpful in my relief as well. Dr. Winslow is very friendly and easy to work with. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Ryan Winslow is full of knowledge from different aspects physical therapist , personal trainers and other chiropractors. This really help me, when i first met Dr. Ryan my neck was in bad shape not being able to tilt my head without pain. Back pain started about 2 years ago. Decided to see a chiropractor since I had good experience with one and a torn rotator cuff. Got Dr Ryan Winslow as a recommendation from a colleague. Been visiting him for several weeks. Pain down from 5-6 to 1-2 via decompression, stretching, and exercises. Also started running. Got some great advice on a) how to be able to run and not injure back further b) running for beginners. Very personable with good bedside manner. Will recommend you visit.

I visited Dr. Ryan to get help with lower back pain. He was very thorough with his examination to determine what was causing the pain and explaining it to me. In addition to performing decompressions and adjustments on my back he also provided physical therapy techniques to help alleviate the pain. I went to Dr. Winslow for neck pain and neck cramps. I had been to therapist before but he seemed much more knowledgeable about my condition and the treatment path to take. There is so much that can be said about Straight Up Spine and Posture and Dr Ryan Winslow. After previous experience with chiropractors I had sworn off going to.another one but I am thrilled that I found Dr Ryan Winslow. He takes the time to listen to previous issues and then works to treat the issue not just make an adjustment. As someone with lower disc issues and chronic pain I have looked into ways to treat it and the decompression machine that is used at Straight Up Spine is amazing. I could tell a difference after just 1 session. Areas that have had daily pain have gotten better and even had times of zero pain. Dr. Winslow was able to pinpoint my lower back issues right away. Even orthopedic doctors werent able to figure out why I was in pain. Their way to fix it was to give a me a cortisone shot, which made it worse. Within the first 3 visits with Dr Winslow, I could see the difference right away. Definitely will recommend him.

I was in a few car accidents as a kid and I was told I would always have low back pain. The only time I ever felt relief was when I would go to the chiropractor and get adjusted but the same pain would be back a few days later which I thought was how it would have to be. Until I found Dr. Ryan! I can go weeks without needing an adjustment. Not only does he adjust your back but he also works with the muscle to loosen them and shows you great exercises to do at home which will help with any pain. I have disc issues so every sessions Dr. Ryan uses the decompression machine, and let me tell you it works wonders. If anyone has been dealing with lower back pain and is on the fence about Chiropractic care Dr. Ryan will change your mind. I highly recommend him to anyone in need!

I found Ryan on Groupon and couldn’t be happier with my experience so far. He’s very thorough, explanatory, and friendly. He took X-rays and I began realignment and decompression on his machine which appears to be state of the art. I highly recommend his practice.

Dr.Ryan is the only reason I am able to live a normal life. I am active duty military and was hit by an oil tanker at sea. Excellent! In Dec. of 2018, I had an MRI and was diagnosed with severe neural foraminal impingement at multiple levels in my neck. Because of the focal nature of my symptoms, it was suggested I be referred to a pain clinic for an epidural steroid injection, which I declined. Additionally, my doctor thought I should see a neurosurgeon given the MRI findings.I made multiple phone calls and did extensive research on the internet before deciding to set an appointment with Dr. Ryan. After my previous experiences with other chiropractors, I am thrilled that I found Dr Ryan Winslow. Dr. Winslow sat with me and shared his philosophy on providing evidence based treatments, listened to my symptoms, and then reviewed my MRIs and X-rays. We then discussed a comprehensive treatment plan that included adjustments, muscle work, disc decompression, and even posture correction.It is April 2019 now. I am so pleased with Dr. Winslows treatment. When I came to him I was having dizzy spells, and I was in a lot of pain and discomfort. Today I am free of those symptoms, and fell fantastic. Dr. Ryan Wislow is a one of a kind chiropractor. Went Into his office with bad backpain and in two weeks I was feeling much better. He uses different methods to help relief the pain, and gives you tips and exercises to do at home for better results. I would Highly recommend Ryan, wont regret it.

First time at a chiropractor and im so glad i found Dr. Ryan. After several visits to Drs who ask about your history/pain then dont bother to look at or listen to you, and make a diagnosis without any real tests, i was kind of leary about going to a chiropractor.Dr Ryan not only listened to me but took xrays and a pretty thorough workup before even starting any procedures. He showed and explained the xrays and what was causing my pain and what could be done. 4 or 5 visits later im getting better.You wont regret seeing Dr Ryan. I highly reccommend!!!
