If you are over 70 years old they dont have time for you. My mother was referred to him after a hospital visit. After testing he told us what he believed the diagnosis to be and said that if he was right then there were several treatment options available. After further testing he told us that he had been correct in his first diagnosis but that she did not qualify for any of the treatments. He just kept repeatedly telling her that she was going to die. He told her this at least 5-6 times. He then asked her if she had a living will. She said that she did not so he asked what her wishes would be in that situation. When she answered he began to belittle her because of her choice. When I asked him about why she didnt qualify for the treatment options that he had mentioned in the earlier visit, he replied that it was because she is in a wheelchair. When I explained that she was only in a wheelchair because of an earlier broken leg all I got in response was a blank stare. Thankfully we got a second opinion and she is being treated.

Do yourself a favor and find a better family to help you... this is what their description says is that they will treat you like family... They don’t... it takes days to get a response and when you do it’s some kind of a runaround. They don’t respect what you choose to do unless it’s what they want you to do... I was told that there will be a communication between doctors and it’s non existent. Waste of your time! I’m not sure if insurance has something to do with it or that’s just their inner culture.

I recently finished a round of 20 radiation treatments.I cant tell you how grateful I am to Gibbs Center and its staff. From reception to the technicians and my doctor, Dr Allen. I was treated with respect and kindness at all times. I wish there was a higher number than 5 stars to rate them. I highly recommend Gibbs Center. I told them that as much as I love and appreciate them, I pray I never have to see them again...LOL😊💗Affectionately,Evelyn McAlister

The amount of care they exhibited to patients going thru sickle cell crisis was top notch.

I am a breast and a kidney cancer survivor. Because of insurance issues with my former oncologists network, I made an appointment to see Dr. Pati at Gibbs Cancer Center Pelham in April for my annual recheck. Just by feeling my neck and without any bloodwork or imaging, he declared that I am cancer-free and need not return again unless have a need. His dismissive demeanor led be to believe he does not want Medicare patients.
