The staff at Spartanburg Greer ENT (Greer location) were kind and respectful. Dr. Pitts was very knowledgeable and took time to help me understand the cause of my rather severe tinnitus condition. I greatly appreciate her thorough evaluation of my hearing, and I would recommend her to anyone needing ENT medical diagnosis and treatment.

Spartanburg/Greer ENT in general and Dr. Erik Steiniger in particular are perhaps the best ENT Clinic I have utilized. He, especially, and his entire staff are compassionate, considerate, and exceptionally talented. Dr. Steiniger demonstrates excellence and expertise in his medical field but also it is obvious that he is extremely familiar with patient history. I believe he thoroughly reviews patient charts for history prior to meeting and discussing issues. He carefully listens as I present symptoms and his responses are thoughtful and insightful. He considers the input provided and takes the time to incorporate the information from the patient prior to making any recommendations. He has a unique knack for answering questions and explaining complex medical aspects. I especially enjoy and appreciate the manner in which he engages and educates me so that together we can make the best possible decision for my medical care.

First off $274 for less than 10 mins of a consultation. Then on the pre-op day the doctor changed everything we talked about. He was like let’s try this and if it doesn’t work we can do the more invasive procedure. Just do the one you know will work since I need to pay for it. Not a fan of Spartanburg ENT. Needless to say I don’t do the procedure once the doctor changed everything like it was no big deal.

I would rate my experience 0 stars if I could. Please do not waste your time going to this ENT. I have never experienced such a lack of compassion or concern for my health issues. The doctor clearly wasn’t trained in how to handle patients that are distraught over their health. The receptionist that set up my appointment for two months later didn’t inquire about my insurance when setting up the appointment which I have never experienced with any other medical receptionist personal. I can’t urge you enough to please seek help elsewhere so that you can not only be diagnosed but treated with the level of compassion and respect that you deserve. If you have full coverage insurance maybe your experience will be different. If not, please heed my advice and go elsewhere so that you don’t have to wait even longer to get the help that you need like I am having to do!!!

I waited for over an hour in the waiting room that ended up being full, to then be brought back and wait again. The nurse bragged about not being apart of any of the hospital systems because they had less procedures but I think thats a negative. I was here for almost 3 hours, saw the Dr for maybe 15 minutes total and did an audiology test for my hearing. The only reason they get 2 stars is the audiologist did a great job and it was one of my better experiences. This office needs to realize they shouldnt waste peoples time.

Ive been having issues with my Eustachian tubes being clogged and having severe pressure in my ears/head for over a week. Went to the urgent care and the doctor gave me antibiotics and steroids, but that didnt help so I figured an ENT would be the best place to go. I was wrong. First thing the doctor did was a hearing test, which I definitely didnt need and then told me to take Sudafed which is what Ive already been taking. Once that was done, he told me to come back and get tested for allergies. (which is something I also dont need). Seemed like he was just trying to treat my symptoms rather than the underlying issue I was having. I left the office very disappointed and with a hole in my wallet from the bill. I have spent hours researching online hoping for some sort of answer and came across a device called the Otovent on walmart website for $32. After reading the reviews from people who also said they went to an ENT for the same issue, ended up having the same disappointing experience, I decided to order it right away. Having the Eustachian Tube dysfunction is honestly the worst feeling in the world and I would not wish it on anybody, I dont think these ENTs really realize how terrible the feeling is because if they did, they wouldnt let their patients walk out of the office without some relief/hope. I would pay $1000 for this device vs the amount that I paid the doctor. I dont have health insurance because I cant afford it, so paying for a service that was no help to me is such a waste of my money. Hate to say it, but I feel like this place is only here to take your money. Im not writing this review to hinder their business but merely for the sake of people who have the same issue as me and hope they find the help that it took me jumping through hoops to find.

At the outset Im expressing an opinion as a patient @ specific time and date.Excellent ENT specialists, nurses, and staff...however, strong feeling attending physician more concerned for searching for a condition to maintain cash flow. As a patient, I dont believe that sticking a 12 tube up my nose to eliminate muscous resolved the severe oral problem I was referred for his examination.Should I ever be referred to this practice again, I would require more accountability from the Dr. without reservation. BTW: I cancelled the follow-up appointment.

I feel the need to write this review because I feel there is not a whole lot of accountability for Doctors that underperform their duties. We brought our 18 month old daughter in after she had a smelly discharge coming out of her ear that could best be described as smelling like rancid pond scum. Ever since she could use her hands, she had been grabbing at her ear and showing signs of discomfort, yet she never had signs of an ear infection. My Wife knew there was something not right here, and so we sought the help of Dr. Weir. Hes a kind enough gentleman, and I dont want to discredit his good name, however, our experience throughout my daughters ear problem seems symptomatic of many Doctors these days.My Wife suspected a problem with my daughters ear and had spent countless hours researching and observing our child, as any dutiful Mother would. Prior to coming in to see the Doctor, she had a strong feeling (and empirical evidence) that our daughters symptoms were being caused by a cyst in her ear. When she brought our daughter in to see the Doctor, my Wife made her case, but her hypothesis was quickly dismissed. The Doctor simply shined a light in her ear, looked at it for a brief moment, then quickly concluded that her ear is perfectly normal and whatever it is, shell grow out of it. What? If theres nothing wrong with her, what is there to grow out of? When my Wife demanded an explanation as to why her ear smelled rancid, the doctor simply replied thats just normal earwax smell. Her right ear is just overproducing earwax. The doctor then used a Harry Potter reference about earwax jellybeans to explain what earwax smells like, as if my Wife were a 5th grader who couldnt understand big words. As a 37 year old man, I can tell you with every bit of confidence that the smell coming out of my daughters ear smelled nothing like earwax. I know exactly what earwax smells like and my daughters ear smelled nothing like it. My Wife knew the Doctors diagnosis was wrong, and insisted that he take a closer look, suggesting a CT scan. The Doctor again waived her off, prescribed her some antibiotics, and sent her on her way.Frustrated, my Wife and I decided to wait until my work transfer to Jacksonville, FL was complete (about 6 months). We had been through this before with general practitioners, but didnt expect to have an ENT specialist fail us like this. After moving to Jax, we decided to tackle my daughters issue again. By that point she was developing a sizable lump on her neck. That lump became a gigantic boil of infection. We were quickly referred to an ENT specialist here in Jacksonville, where it was quickly discovered that the boil was a symptom of a quarter in diameter cyst behind my daughters right ear. Without hearing the backstory this ENT looked in my daughter ear, moved his finger into position behind my daughter ear and forward of the area of the infected boil, quickly recognizing a type of cyst that is a congenital defect. In his words, any doctor worth his salt should have been able to diagnose that the cyst was present using nothing more than an index finger. A further CT scan clearly revealed the cyst which was over 1 1/4 inches in diameter (huge for a 2 year old). The boil had to be ruptured with a scalpel while my wife held my daughters leg down. OUNCEs of putrid infection poured out of the cut. After the infectious boil that was directly linked to the cyst was healed up, the ENT specialist in Jax performed an operation and removed the cyst. Had Dr. Weir recognized the cyst, which he should have, my daughter wouldnt have had the infectious boil grow on her neck. She wouldnt have had to have it cut open, and my Wife would have been spared the pain of watching our daughter go through that. By the way, the ENT had to cut her on two different occasions to remove all of the infection. My final take: This Doctor should have found the problem easily, but didnt. My opinion is he was either negligent or incompetent, neither of which makes for a good ENT Doc.
