This BBB has helped me on two separate occasions. Both events involved persuading my mortgage company to pay my property taxes from escrow. The BBB was able to get the company to perform their obligations, of which they were not committed to completing.The mortgage company stopped all communication with me after they learned I had filed a BBB c complaint. Within a week, the taxes were paid.I suspect I will have to file a BBB complaint in October when the Mortgage company does not pay my property taxes again.

Had an issue with my mortgage servicing agency where they didnt pay my escrowed property tax. No action from the agency for months despite numerous calls and emails. Finally engaged BBB of Upstate SC and they were able to get the mortgage servicing agency to send out a check within a week. Thank you!

I had an issue with my auto financial lender. It was a new auto loan and It was my first payment and I didn’t know that there was a cutoff of 3 Pm EST. I live in CA I paid 12:30 PST so I was late and assessed $27 late fee. I called my lender. They won’t reverse the late fee. I filed a complaint to BBB. Immediately BBB acted on my complaint and asked the lender to explain their side. After several days my lender called me and informed me that they are reversing the late fees. Thank you BBB it’s not the money but giving one time courtesy to new client.

I was having an issues with Parks Buick. I contacted Buick customer service and was getting nowhere. After weeks of Buick customer service trying to work with the dealership, nothing was accomplished. I contacted the BBB of the Upstate. They contacted Parks Buick and my issue was resolved a couple of days. I know the BBB contacted the dealership because the dealer rep mentioned the BBB and wanted to solve the issue for me. Thank you to the BBB for stepping in and truly helping me get closure of the issue. In my case, they helped me recovery $2,000.

Baileys Roofing Service just completed installing a new roof due to wind and hail damage. They worked with the insurance company in securing their approval. They also replaced some damaged siding and had a painter repair and paint the water stains indoors. A very professional father and son business and very easy to work with. I would highly recommend them. I am very pleased with their work.

At store #100, Stanton Optical, in Anderson, SC,,,I am so pleased. Teresa is a beautiful person and so are the doctor, techs and manager. I had an eye issue that had to be addressed 4 days after my eye exam. My glasses were still at the lab but the staff went the extra mile and helped me with a pair of single vision glasses for temporary use at no charge. I also didnt have to pay for my emergency office visit. Im not saying that this will happen for everyone but it shows the dedication and compassion to the patient. I have recommended this place to anyone who needs to be examined or needs glasses or contacts. Teresa...you rock. God Bless you all!!!! Lisa

I contacted BBB of Upstate, SC, to get my business accredited. I have never applied for accreditation for a business before and I was impressed with the way BBB understood my business, the different websites we use and how they investigated everything to make sure we were legitimate and correct in our advertising for the way the BBB needs it to be. They were very helpful, patient, kind and, better yet, got me accredited within the week! I would highly recommend BBB of Upstate SC to anyone. Great job!

I was unable to get resolution to a matter where my mortgage provider charged us twice for insurance. After about 4 months of runaround from service reps who were not empowered to fix the problem, I contacted the BBB and they were able to get a contact who was actually able to provide resolution. I contacted this location in regards to a company who purchased a loan of mine from another company after it went out of business. I was contacted within the same day to get the issue resolved and Kathy (I believe) who helped me was wonderful in getting my issue resolved. I was contacted by the company the next morning (under 24 hours after my initial complaint) and the company fixed the issues and addressed my concerns. I had attempted to contact the business before with no resolution quite a few times, I credit this location in assisting me getting the issue resolved so fast after not getting any answers. I found a collection account on my credit report that wasnt mine and decided to contact the BBB before disputing it with the 3 credit bureaus. The BBB was able to contact the collection people and a week later it was gone from my credit reports. They are amazing and always kept in touch threw email with what I should do next. Recently, I had a problem with an order from Wayside Gardens, based in SC. The vendor would not return emails regarding an order that arrived diseased. I contacted the BBB of upstate SC and filled out a couple of forms online. Within a day I received communication from the BBB which reached out to the vendor on my behalf. Because of the reputation of the BBB and the vendor claims they have a A rating with the BBB they received a response within a day. I received my refund within a week. The BBB was easy to work, professional and responsive. They are a wonderful resource to bridge customer/business communication problems quickly.

I filed a complaint with BBB of Upstate SC regarding a business in their jurisdiction. Prior to filing the complaint, after no less than 5 phone calls, I was on the receiving end of much resistance and deceptive practices from the company whose product and promotional program were the cause of the issue. Hours after after I submitted the complaint online, I received a phone call from the Director of Marketing of the company. The matter was resolved to my complete satisfaction within one week of filing the online complaint. I can only surmise that the weight and reputation of the BBB was key to resolving this issue. I couldnt be happier with my experience with BBB of Upper SC and the outcome.

My experience with BBB of Greenville was more than I could have imagined. I placed a complaint on 06/15/2017 and 06/16/2017 I was contacted by the business in question and getting results. I honestly didnt expect for it to happen so quick. I can highly recommend them and I am in awe at how fast everything took place. I am very grateful for their service and will use them again in the future if needed. I filed a claim of a business that should be investigated and watched closely but they did absolutely nothing to help me. The manager at said business has terrible customer relations, is rude, lies, and steals from you, but the BBB of upstate SC could care less. They recognized that I was unhappy with the response from the business that they simply mediated and then closed the claim and that was that. Don’t bother trying to file a claim with them, they do absolutely nothing to help the customer who tells the truth and are there to profit from the sketchy business practices of a business that has no place being in business in the first place. The girl at the BBB who communicated with me via email was not helpful and did nothing to resolve the issue I am dealing with.

After having an issue with Stan Egan Auto World delaying a title transfer the BBB set a fire under Stan Egan. Within a few days of my contacting the BBB, Egan called with an assurance that the issue would be resolved soon. I have every reason to believe that the BBB deserves credit for Egan feeling pressure to just do what was right,Complaint was easy to file, and follow up from Kelli Koglin gave me confidence that, finally, something was being done. The BBB did what they could do within the confines of the rules that govern their office to help with our case against Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing. Unfortunately, companies like Shellpoint operate without much federal oversight and when they get a bad reputation- commit crimes they usually just change their name while the same owner or group of owners continues their way of conducting business under a new business name. I appreciated Cindy’s help with my case. My review is not personally directed at you but at the institutions. We did not get the resolution we needed because we could not afford to hire an attorney to sue Shellpoint and other companies for wrongdoing. I would like to ask the BBB to look into Shellpoint more in depth because my complaints and my story are extremely common and we are having to leave our home. It grew to be too financially difficult for us to fight Shellpoint and try and get the moneys owed from the multiple parties guilty of wrongdoing to fix our home. We could not hire anyone to represent us. There was no safety net. We did not get the help we NEEDED to prevent having to give up our home either through deed in lieu of foreclosure or to an investor to whom all of the profits will go with whatever they decide to do after taking over the loan. We contacted legal charities by email and by mail. I called them by phone. No one helped. Either way we lost everything we put in including thousands of hours of work to elevate the property by hand so we would not lose property to rising waters. With mold in the home, severe foundation problems, significant health problems, and financial exhaustion there was nothing to do but move out. We are taking a loss in the seventy-thousand dollar range because of this and will never be homeowner’s again due to the extreme financial condition set upon us by factors beyond our control. I wish I could say I am satisfied with how my complaint was resolved, but I am not. Maybe within how the office operates it is adequate but tell that to my children who are losing their home. We are moving to a much smaller apartment and the entirety of what we put in is lost. There are no words for how I feel. I am physically and emotionally sick and we have lost most of what we had. We did not have the legal help we needed and that is why things turned out so poorly for us. The rich and powerful took advantage of my family because we were poor, sick, I lost my job, and they knew it. I do not have he capacity to fight them anymore. This is a battle we lost. I wish you could or had policies that allowed you to do more, but you do not. I am tired. How I feel will not change but the outcomes with echo for decades to come and others will hear my story endlessly. I am angry and I have a long memory. We need reform and I am going to start and aggressive campaign to get it. There are too many people being allowed to get away with these underhanded, dirty business practices that destroy the poor completely. I gave you a three star review because I got the help I expected but did not get a solution to prevent the outcomes resulting in the loss of our life savings which was sunk into our home. This is the average experience the poor who are oppressed by the rich and powerful have. I could not wait any longer for the help that never came. They had attorneys contact me to begin the foreclosure they manufactured and told us our home would be placed with HUD most likely within 60 to 90 days after which it may or may not be condemned. We are moving out presently. Fix how you deal with situations like this. Good people are losing everything because no one will stop companies like Shellpoint and Home Bridge Financial from doing these things in the first place. If they had more oversight and consequences which were guaranteed to come we never would have been sold this broken home to begin with. There is no recourse for us except to tell my story without end which will be published. We lost it all. I expected this outcome and I was not surprised to see it come to pass. I did what I could.

I had an issue with a company that I could not resolve. I had contacted them multiple times in an effort to resolve the issue, but each call was more unfruitful than the last. I finally resorted to filing a complaint with the BBB. Within a week of filing the complaint, they had sent a notice to the company and the company had resolved the issue. In fact, they went above and beyond what I had requested for resolution. If not for the BBB I would not have gotten this response. Thank you BBB!

I had a giftcard (GC) from a company, which I tried to use after some years. I was told there was no balance on as it may be deactivated and that I should call customer service. I called customer service and we had to go back and forth for two months, but yet they didnt care to solve the issue. I ended up contact BBB and I am glad I did. BBB took care of it in no time. The company right away sent a (GC) to me. Thank you BBB!

I had a dispute with a local car dealership.They gave me the run around on a warranty rebate. After trying to resolve the problem with them, I called BBB. They were very responsive, got a hold of dealership, and basically mediated for me. The dealership listened to them and was more than eager to get problem resolved. I filed a report on fedex,last year,so far the BBB has done Nothing to help resolve this problem,the driver sent my childs Christmas present to the wrong home!! After repeated contact with the BBB and fedex the lost laptop ended up costing me over $500 due to their mistake...still the BBB hasnt been of any help, FedEx sent their guy back and sat at the wrong house stating it was the right home,I was on the phone with fedex at the time and tried to flag the driver down as he speed off the lady on the phone he said he is at the right house and stated there is nothing they were willing to do!!I will refile the report with BBB in Greenville and see if they can be of more help,so far the BBB seems to be of more help to bad companys than the consumer..I will update my rating with BBB if they can offer me any help for this problem....I hate to give the BBB a low rating but willing to allow them one more shot...
