Dr Hodge has preformed 3 surgerys on me. 2005 a spinal Lamenectomy, 2007 a spinal fusion, and 2020 a anterior cervical fusion. He treated me with respectnd has a wonderful bedside manor. I always refer him to people when someone ask me about a neurologist. He has preformed surgerys on family and my friends.

I am very dissatisfied with Dr.Hodge .My daughter has been going to him through workers comp, and he has no clue of what is going on. His bedside manners are terrible.I would not recommend my worst enemy to him.

My daughter was in a very serious car accident in 2006. Dr. Phillip J. HODGE did her surgery on her back. God using the ability of Dr. HODGE is why my daughter is able to walk today. A Dr. seeing my daughters x-ray a few years later said it was a miracle that she could walk.GREAT SURGEON

This Dr has done over 10 surgeries on me 3 of them being brain surgery. I think the bedside manner and the way the patient is treated is very important when things like loosing your mind are involved. There could have been so much done much better I am still heading back again to the operating room.Trying a different doctor this time though. If you are sick and sensitive choose another Dr. His staff is great though and try so hard to make up for his mean personality.

I have been seeing Dr Hodge for almost a year now. He has performed 2 surgeries on me. One in my lumbar & one in my thoracic area. He has always listened to me, answered my questions & treated me with respect. I’m very thankful for him & I highly recommend him.

Dr Hodge did my surgery for Chiari Malformation in 2008 and without his great work I would be paralyzed today! He is kind and compassionate! He always made me feel completely comfortable and believe me you need to be with the Doctor who is performing surgery on your brain!

I went in for a consultation of MRI in February. Dr. had the personality of a dial tone and lacked empathy for my situation. I was told, theres nothing more I can do, and was referred to pain management, which has NOT not helped me at all. Im still in a lot of nerve pain and dealing with numbness in left leg. I have expressed this with his office and was dismissed and referred back to pain management, even when I told them the treatments were ineffective. Would not recommend anyone to this doctor or any doctor associated with Prisma Health-its all about corporate and financial health care, not patient care.

Great doctors are usually people who go above and beyond for their patients. Dr. Hodge is not one of those doctors. He has no bedside manner, and cares nothing about trying to fix the problems his patients have. I would never recommend him.

I took my 86 year-old mother to see Dr. Hodge following an accident that resulted in a fractured vertebra. His entire staff was very friendly, and they went out of their way to make Mom as comfortable as possible. Dr. Hodge explained everything that he saw in her MRI in terms that were easy to understand, and he was very patient about repeating when it was obvious that her impaired hearing was hindering her understanding. He made direct eye contact with her and listened intently to everything she said – even the extraneous details that were irrelevant to everyone but her. And despite the value of his time (and that of his staff), he didn’t rush her or cut her off mid-sentence – even when she repeated some of the details needlessly. I felt as though he was treating her exactly as he would have treated his own mother – with kindness, patience, and good humor. He reassured her that surgery was not necessary, and spoke encouragingly of the potential for improvement over time. As we left the office, Mom turned back towards me and said, “I really liked Dr. Hodge.” I did too, and I recommend him highly.
