DO NOT GO HERE. They will hold you the maximum amount of time despite agreeing that you do not need to be there anymore. I had to use a lawyer to get out of the facility. Violations of your patients bill of rights. Low staff resulting in a seizure patient only being saved from hitting the floor by other patients. This place is detrimental to your mental and physical health. You are more likely to win the lottery than get help in this facility.Edit: I told them not to charge my insurance Im paying out of pocket. They charged it anyway for twice the doctor visits I never had. This place is a scam and should be shut down.

Update: My loved one was here for 10 days. Was treated well. Is doing much better. I believe he would go back if needed. Which is a huge accomplishment on Glen Oaks part. Keep up the good work! I increased my score from 1 star to 4! You still need to get that “patient ID” number before you leave! Apparently you can’t even return a missed call from your loved without this number. This is something that should be handled upon admission to a hospital, as well as a consent to speak to the caregiver! That’s the missing piece!

My son has been in many different inpatient facilities this last year. He is doing better at Glen Oaks. The staff seems caring and compassionate. They answer the phone right away and give me updates on my son every day.The psychiatrist actually listened to our request and got him on an anti-depressant that was greatly needed. This is one of the better facilities he’s been at.

I gave full access to all medical records. Even brought my own medical records with MRI disc. I had a PA black ball me. The information was for Dr. Siles to research the facts, I never failed a drug test nor did I miss use the requested medication. I need help but the facility will help some but not all with the same symptoms, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. My life was turning around but he kept refusing to help me with the lack of energy. Zero quality of life, so what is the point to continue with a facility that refuses to help a patient 100% for a better quality of life. I will be contacting United Health Care to see exactly what the P.A has done. Meanwhile I leave your facility with a 8 depression, 10 anxiety and extremely high suicide thoughts. Unfortunately Glen Oaks doesnt care. I gave the company a 5 star rating right around this time a year ago. I went back because I trusted Glen Oaks. That trust is no longer there. Off I go to be a shell of a human and try to survive the game of life.I can not rate Glen Oaks Hospital a ⭐. The staff are helpful and friendly. Their classes are fun but you are learning. I cant for get the kitchen staff, the food is mostly good.

I was self admitted here and stayed for 3 weeks. The intake staff was very nice, but the process took hours. The therapists that would come in for group therapy were very nice. I felt the sessions were not helpful. Only 2 maybe 3 sessions a day and the rest of the time was watching tv. The technicians staff were more interested in looking cool and making friends instead of helping anyone out.LOOK AT THE REVIEWS AND YOU CAN SEE THAT THERE ARE NO REPLIES BACK FROM THIS HOSPITAL TO ANY of the REVIEWS. DO THEY CARE? SOME DO YES ,BUT IN BIG PICTURE OF THINGS I WOULD RECOMMEND FINDING A PLACE WITH HIGHER VERIFIED REVIEWS.THERE IS NO 1on1 therapy!!!Why the f#*k not?

This is one of the best behavioral hospitals I have ever admitted to. The staff is all around friendly and caring; from the Docters, Nurses, MHTs, therapists, even Cafeteria staff. The inpatient program is very helpful and therapeutic for someone with a mental illness and/or someone in for detoxing. I just wish the staff would not rush people out so soon and let people stay until they feel they are mentally stable to get out. But overall great place!

All they could tell us that he was allowed to spend the night in the day room (which we don’t believe them) the next day he was found dead at 6:45a in a chair in the day room! Please please take your family members somewhere else!!!! If I could give negative stars I would! Our family have no peace when it comes to really knowing what happened to my uncle💔

This place is an absolute joke. Staff would not tell us when my husband would see a doctor as he was there voluntarily to leave. They kept giving him the run around, were very rude to him (once he was voluntary) and refused to give him the medication they had given him from day 1. My husband was not able to sleep at all and was very courteous and asked to please have a room where he could sleep.. they purposely put a patient in a room with him that had been snoring loudly. My husband heard a staff member talking about him and this particular situation. The receptionist at the front desk could plainly see me standing outside when I came to visit and sat there and made me wait outside before I picked up the phone. The lady that answered the phone responded with “she should let you in..” Once she did let me in, she was absolutely horrid. She was so rude. People who are visiting the facility are not the enemy. They are there to see their loved ones during very hard times. The jerk of a receptionist (wit a terrible, butch haircut) was clearly more worried about whatever her plans were after work. Apparently she was getting ready to go on a trip and was talking on the phone about it. Her priority was not being kind. Her priority was not helping me through the process of signing in which I needed as I have never, ever stepped foot in a facility like this. The facility was gross. The “visiting” room I got to speak to my husband in was gross. The floors were disgusting. When you call the hospital they are incredibly rude. They treat you like you’re trying to reach an inmate. Please do not send your loved ones here if they truly need help. They will wear and tear you down until you absolutely snap. It’s an aged hospital that you see in horror films. It’s terrifying. The only reason I gave a star was so I could write a review, but really I could write a book just based off of the few days my husband was there.

Was told by the doctor I would get to leave then my parents decided to lie to the therapist and of course she believed them and not me... I ended up staying 10 more days than what I was told. I had a therapist yell at me because she thought I was “faking being okay” I was doing better and then I was shouted at which put me 10 step backs. The therapist is rude and disrespectful. I was 13 years old when I went here and now over 5 years later as an adult I still resent this place because of the therapist.

This place has stepped their game up in comparison to other reviews. I went in for an alcohol detox and was treated with a tremendous amount of respect. The staff was very professional and kind, as if they were taking care of their own family. I had a private room, the food was awesome and the facility is segregated for mental illness and substance abuse. More violent, unstable or volatile patients are in a completely different wing. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs to reach out for help.

I ONLY GAVE A STAR BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO GIVE SOMETHING. THIS PLACE IS A DAMN JOKE. MY STEPMOM ADMITTED HERSELF. THEY KEPT HER A WEEK. WE TRIED TO GET HER RELEASED BEFORE AND WERE TOLD THAT WE COULDNT DO THAT. WE WOULD HAVE TO TALK TO THE DOCTOR WHICH WAS NEVER THEIR OR AVAILABLE. THEY ALSO TOLD US THAT IF SHE SIGNED HERSELF IN THAT SHE COULD SIGN HERSELF OUT BUT SHE HADNT ASKED FOR A RELEASE FORM. SO WE ASKED IF THEY HAD TOLD HER THAT SHE COULD SIGN HERSELF OUT AND THEY SAID NO. SO WE ASKED TO TALK TO HER SO WE COULD TELL HER AND THEY REFUSED. SO WE HAD TO WAIT UNTIL SHE CALLED US AT HER ALLOTTED PHONE TIME. WE TOLD HER AND SHE ASKED FOR A RELEASE FORM AND THEY TOLD HER THEY COULD NOT GIVE HER ONE THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE DOCTOR GOT IN AND RELEASES HER. SO AFTER A WEEK OF NON HELPFUL AND RUDE STAFF CONVERSATION WE SPOKE TO THE DOCTOR WHO SAID THAT HE WOULD RELEASE HER BECAUSE HE COULD NOT HELP HER ANYWAY. THEY WERE NOT GIVING HER REGULAR MEDICATION BUT INSTEAD NEW MEDICATIONS FROM THE DOCTOR THEIR. WHEN WE GOT HER HOME SHE WAS LIKE A ZOMBIE AND COULD NOT EVEN FUNCTION. MOT EVEN DAILY TASKS. ALL SHE WANTED TO DO WAS SLEEP. WE HAD TO TAKE HER TO OUR PRIMARY DOCTOR WHO TOOK HER OFF OF MOST OF THE MEDICATIONS THEY HAD PUT HER ON AND SHE IS DOING BETTER FINALLY. DUE TO THE HOSPITAL VISIT SHE MISSED WORK AND DUE TO THE MEDICATIONS SHE WAS ON WAS UNABLE TO WORK FOR A WEEK FOLLOWING THE VISIT. WE TRIED TO SEND IN PAPERWORK TO BE FILLED OUT FOR LEAVE AT WORK FOR HER INSURANCE TO COVER. AT WHICH POINT WE GOT THE RUN AROUND. EVERY TIME WE CALLED IN WE WERE SENT TO SOMEONES VOICEMAIL. THE PAPERWORK HAD A DEADLINE THAT WAS MISSED BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD CALL US BACK. WE HAD TO FILE FOR AN EXTENSION. WE CALLED BACK TODAY TO LET THEM KNOW THAT WE NEED THE PAPERWORK COMPLETED AND FAXED BEFORE WEDNESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. THEY HAD THIS PAPERWORK FOR 2 WEEKS AND HAD DONE NOTHING WITH IT. THEN WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY DONT PROCESS THIS KIND OF PAPERWORK THEN WERE TRANSFERRED TO A VOICEMAIL AGAIN. WE RECEIVED NO NAMES OF ANYONE TO CONTACT OR PHONE NUMBERS THEY JUST KEPT TRANSFERRING US AND WE KEPT GETTING VOICEMAILS. NO ONE WAS HELPFUL EXCEPT A WOMAN IN MEDICAL RECORDS AND IT WASNT EVEN HER JOB TO DEAL WITH IT. I AM TOTALLY UNIMPRESSED WITH THIS FACILITY AND EMPLOYEES. WE ENDED UP HAVING TO GET OUR PRIMARY DOCTOR TO HELP WITH THE FORMS TO GET THEM COMPLETED AND SENT IN.

This place is an absolute joke! I was court ordered to be there for 48 hours. After I got in they told me no that I was actually court ordered 72 hours. Once my 72 hours was up I asked if I was going to be discharged that day and I was told that I was wrote down to be there for 9 days. I told them I was only ordered to be there for 3 days and was ready to go home so they told me I would have to meet with my doctor and the director. Later on the director came to my room and told me that I was not going to be discharged and my options were I could voluntarily sign myself in or I could fight it and they would take me court to get another court order and her words were “and we will win”. She told me since it was close to the weekend I wouldn’t even be able to see the judge until Monday so I went ahead and signed myself in hoping that would get me out quicker. I ended up spending another two days there. The place is filthy and gross. There were smudges of who knows what on my window in my room. My window was also whited out so you couldn’t even look outside. It was co-Ed and the girls could only shower in the morning time. They locked up your shower items and you had to ask for them when you wanted a shower. I wasn’t allowed to have any bathroom products from home such as deodorant or shampoo. I enjoyed the nurses that worked there. They were all friendly for the most part. However the receptionist up front was rude as can be to my family when they would call up there or come up there to bring me clothes. I only met with my doctor once and they didn’t change any of my meds at all. I took the same medication and the same dosage as I had been taking at home for years, so I didn’t understand why I was being held there and being threatened to be taken to court to make me stay longer. I felt like it was an insurance thing because I have good insurance. They were releasing people that had only been there for a day and people who did nothing but stay in their room all day long and obviously needed help for depression but I was being told I could sign myself in or be dragged to court. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. If you aren’t already crazy then this place will make you insane. You’re literally locked up all day, can’t even see out your window, not allowed outside unless it’s a scheduled smoke break, and yeah their website says they have equine therapy but don’t believe that because that’s false. Some of the residents even asked about it and was told they weren’t doing that at this time. Do not go here for help!

My wife voluntarily admitted in for a 72 hour hold. She got there on a Tuesday late afternoon it took her until 11pm to be done with admission. I called that night four times to see what was happening and was told they would tell her to call me. NOTHING! I headed to the facility the next morning she called me while I was on my way (9:00am)to get her clothes. I turned around got her clothes then drove back (it’s a one hour wash way trip). Got there rude as hell! Receptionist refused to do anything because I didn’t have her patient number. One orderly was very nice gave me everything that I would need and gave me a schedule. She got there Tuesday didn’t see a doctor until Wednesday night. Friday comes doc is supposed to meet with her at 11am for discharge. I call at two o’clock to find out what Is going on. Am told by a therapist that she couldnt get ahold of the doctor until a half hour before and he don’t know what he is going to do. Then at 4:00 pm therapist calls me say the doc called and wants to keep her until Monday without even seeing her!!!! He still isn’t even at the facility. I told her to get my wife call me back so we can do an AMA. She said she could block it with a court order. I said try it but I want her to get my wife and call me. Nothing! I am so pissed. Why isn’t there any laws to protect the people and keep the hospitals like that from raping Medicare and insurance companies?

My wife was in Glen Oaks. The place is very unprofessional. They didnt appear to care about my wifes situation whatsoever. Whenever I called, they were rude and very unprofessional. The hospital has 1 Indian doctor who sees up to 200 patients, whom he allots only 10 seconds to at most. My wife took in her own prescriptions as part of her property, the hospital (doctor), confiscated them and destroyed them, or so they claim. Maybe he just wanted them to throw a party and pass them out. This place is terrible. It is not actually for mental care, this hospital is primarily to detox you. DO NOT take any of your prescriptions in there. They wont give them back and they wont distribute them to you, so do not bother. I have never seen such a dedicated lack of care at any facility before, not even a state-run one. Avoid this one at all costs.

In the daily group sessions you were not aloud to talk about how you are feeling. They treat you like you are a bad person their I sat their for two and half weeks. If I wanted to call my family I had to call collect from the phone in the hallway, actual pay phone. However the nurses and techs were good including the art therapist. But the doctors and drug and alcohol therapist were not. Back than when I was their I would litterly just sit outside during the day and smoke cigarettes and do my best to not let those therapist crucify me anymore.

A living nightmare. Boys and girls not separated. My teen daughter was committed for self harm and depression. She hated my rules was influenced by other teens to steal cut and get a bf. When I disagreed they allowed her to cut me off calls and visits. Allowing only her father and gf to see her. Filed false cps cases and helped in a legal kidnapping of my child from the facility even tho accusations were proven false it ruined my life and cost everything I had fighting thru court. I ultimately gave up the fight and allowed my daughter to go live with her father. The hospital never followed up for Aleeya. She has no bedroom he discontinued her antidepressants all other meds and they never even followed up on her. Ive been allowed to see her twice supervised in 2 yrs even tho all accusations were found to be False! If you cant afford a lawyer oh well they can get away with anything they want for the $ thats all they are in it for. Dont take your child here for help. Seek private care thru a doctor

Waste of time and tax payers money (medicare). We had to have our 79 yr. mom admitted for evaluation and help per her doctors orders. She wound up being there for 9 days, (2 of which we believe were simply to bleed the system for more money.PROs:1. Phone staff is professional.2. Therapist are genuine and will call you back to talk.3. Mom felt safe and was provided for with the basics, private room, food, water etc.CONs:1. All they did was medicate her and give her some GROUP therapy sessions. No really detailed information or prognosis or therapy.2. Communication with staff is REALLY POOR. Example: their protocol for you getting to talk to your loved one is never really explained to you and very confusing and difficult to figure out on your on.3. We brought our moms DAILY meds in and found out she never took them.4. Mom said she never took a shower/bath while there.5. Policies kept changing depending on who you talked too. Example: my sister went to go visit the ONE DAY ALLOWED (Sat. for 1 hour). She was told by 4 different people 4 different, prescribed, 1 hour visitation time slots.6. We were told by her therapist(s) that she would be released two days prior from her actual release, then at the last minute we were told NO THE DOCTOR was not releasing her. When asked why? ...crickets! You can imagine the frustration and shuffling of times to accommodate the last minute changes.7. When I would continually ask for PROGNOSIS info. there was basically NONE. Only somewhat detailed info. came from therapist per the group sessions...and it was nothing more than their observations..8. We asked a nurse and a therapist to make sure moms medical records, from her stay, were sent to her regular doctor. We gave them the faxing and mailing info. Two weeks later, we find out they had not.9. So NINE DAYS and then TWO WEEKS of precious time WASTED trying to get our mom help.10. It was basically like she was just being warehoused. So upon release, we were basically back to where we started with my moms issues....BUT the hospital got to shakedown Medicare for NINE DAYS of treatment.

One tech in particular Danny made it easier to cope with being there. I do have to say that in my case the doctor didnt listen to well as I told him the meds were working I was feeling great better than I had in years but he said the blood test showed that it was a little low in my system so he upped it anyway from 250 to 500 after that it was no longer helpful I had the Shakes and was feeling sick so as soon as I was released I stopped taking the meds which I was for the first time going to continue to take I had the Shakes just as bad come off them if he didnt value my opinion about how the meds were going why did he ask? Thats my only complaint other than that is a good place.

Locking them in rooms by themselves & then even locking up family members belongings. She finally had to get her boss, Holly, who wanted to argue with me it hasnt been 2 hours, sorry 1 hr 42 min, is that better holly? Word of advice, I wont be leaving our loved one here & wouldnt recommend you to either. More than likely they get locked up in a room in insulation 23 hrs a day if I had to guess. Apparently her doctor does not believe in Fibromyalgia or narcotics so she is stuck taking ibuprofen and tylenol for pain which her pain is much too severe for those meds to cover. I am highly angry at this place and their policies. I am angry for my friend for what she is going through.

The doctors there have no business practicing medicine. They only care about money. They had me on things that made me psychotic, which i wasnt when i arrived. They like to play with their patients meds. They also like to find any excuse to strip those meds, triggering withdrawal, so they can collect $3500 per day per patient. I CANNOT believe they are still in operation. I myself have chronic pain which triggers anger/depression. They like to make it so they can court order you as inpatient, by not giving their patients an adequate amount of meds, forcing them to use other means to self medicate.
